10/11/08  I know I am in BIG trouble!  I have not posted anything since January; what a terrible mother.  Truth be told our lives have been a little chaotic since January.  I started a new job, Erik added grad school to his schedule (don't forget he also has a full time job)....and we have a VERY energetic 2 year old.  Yes, our little pumpkin officially turned 2 this week and now he is a real boy...no more baby.  I can't think of much he is not up to these days.  He runs, jumps, laughs, screams, sings the ABCs, counts to 15, knows his shapes and all of his friends, torchures the dog, throws the most outrages temper tantrums, idolizes his Daddy, but most importantly....he's a Mama's boy =).  This year has been so much fun with him and watching him grow.  I don't get much spare time since Erik is mostly at school and work so that is why I don't update this site.  I am also too busy keeping him from eating bugs and diving off the furniture to take his picture.  This little boy is truly our treasure and we are so blessed with the "little man" he is becoming.  Rather than take you through all of his stages over the past 10 months, I will just open the book to this next chapter of his life....he's a 2 year old.  Please see the most recent pictures and enjoy....I promise to post more often....at least once a quarter =).

11/12/07  So much has happened in the last 2 months.  Logan had his first birthday party.  Lots of friends and family came to celebrate the big day.  He has seen all the grandparents from California in the last month which  helped spoil him even more.  He also celebrated halloween with 2 costumes and lots of festivities.  Now we are gearing up for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Most of Logan's friends have brothers and sisters on the way, but he will have to wait a couple of years for one of his own.  My little sweet boy has now become a rough and tumble toddler.  He  has also mastered the art of temper tantrums, but really only with Mommy.  All in all he is such a wonderful joy and keeps Erik and I laughing everyday.  He is also a big talker, which he gets from his mommy.  However, he analyzes toys before he will play with them, this of course comes from Daddy.  I promise to be better about updating this site throughout the holidays.

9//28/07  Logan has had a very big week.  He started walking, drinking milk, we turned his car seat around and he had his one year pictures. Plans are underway for the big birthday celebration next week.  We will update you all with pictures from the big event.

9/6/07 We just got back from Baton Rouge for Luca's first birthday party, which held a few more firsts for the "Lunch Box".  It was Logan's first road trip.  My God what a drive.  He was great though.  We only had to keep him busy for about 30 minutes each way.  The birthday party was a great time.  Logan got his first taste of sugar in the form of a cupcake.  I've never seen such a kung-fu grip.  It was a definite prelude to his birthday next month.

Logan supposedly took his first couple of steps while the parents were in New Orleans for the day on Sunday.  We haven't seen him take any more, but he's definitely getting close.  We can't believe it's already been a year.  He's come quite a long way.  He's up to about 23 lbs., and he's got 5 teeth working, which have made him a bit fussy lately.  Luca's birthday present to everyone was his first steps.  I've got my fingers crossed that Logan paid attention to the competition.

6/17/07  We just got back from a week in California visiting Erik's family and friends.  It was a trip filled with lots of love for Logan.  Logan had his first trip to the beach.  He also started crawling, pulling up on tables and walking if he is holding on to something.  It was a fun and busy week, now we all need some rest.  Logan and I helped Erik celebrate his first Father's Day.  Logan definately loves his Daddy and the feeling is completely mutual.  Logan is starting the needing mommy stage.  I think alot of it is because he has been off schedule and he is teething.  This weekend we are going to Logan's buddy Mason's first birthday party.  Time is flying!!

6/4/07  I know it has been FOREVER since I have updated this page.  I apologize to all long distance family and friends out there waiting patiently for me to post more pictures and stories of our little munchkin. We have all been so busy!  Logan will be 8 months old on Wednesday; I seriously can't believe it.  He is 22 pounds now!  He is so heavy for me now, but he is as cute as he can be.  He is starting to crawl; it is a very slow process because he gets so frustrated.  He loves to laugh and be the center of attention.  He knows he can always get his mommy's attention (I'm a sucker!).  We are going to visit family and friends in California this next week and he will definately be the center of attention.

4/12/07  Logan is officially 6 months old.  My how the time has flown.  These have been the best 6 months of our lives.  He is so much fun now.  He does this laugh that will put anyone in a good mood.  He has done alot the last 2 months.  He is trying to crawl, but it is more of a swimming motion with his arms.  He loves to jump in his Jumperoo.  Everyone says he is a mama's boy, because if I am in the room he wants nothing to do with anyone else.

He had his 6 month check up today.  Well, we knew he was chunky, but not 19 lbs 10 oz!  He is in the 90% on weight.  He is 26 inches long and in the 50% on height.  The doc was not at all concerned with it.  He said once Logan starts crawling he will thin out.  We still love our fat man. =)

2/26/06  We went to Houston this weekend to visit my best friend Farah and her husband Alex and their baby Luca.  Logan and Luca loved to stare at each other and try to grab noses.  We took them to JC Penney to get their pictures taken together in matching sailor outfits.   The dads were not too excited about the "sissy" outfits, but the pictures turned out precious.

Logan's first tooth is coming in, and he is trying to bite on everything to make his gums feel better.  He is also almost sitting on his own.  He is starting to develop very quickly now.    We have a very busy next two months with visits from friends, birthday parties of Logan's friends, Easter, etc.  We will keep posting pictures of our little prince as he grows!

2/6/06  Logan turned 4 months old today.  He had his 4 month check-up and the doctor gave him an A+ for development.  He started turning over about a week ago and he has been sleeping 10-12 hours at night.  He weighs 15 lbs and is 24 1/2 inches long.  He is in the 50th percentile on height and 75th on weight so he is definately a chunk, but as you can see from the pictures he is fat and happy.  We also started on rice cereal today and he just tried to spit it out.

Logan is spending his days playing with his friends and Sophie, running errands with mommy and going on walks/runs.  He is a pretty happy baby who is becoming quite the mama's boy.  I just stare at him and I can't believe he's mine.

1/17/06  Logan is 3 1/2 months old and weighs 13 1/2 pounds.  He is getting so big.  He smiles and laughs all the time now.  We have both had a bad cold for 3 weeks, but we are now better.  He sleeps through the night now and is sleeping upstairs in his own room.  He is learning to sit up pretty good.  He also has learned to love his Exersaucer.  He goes back to the doctor on February 6 for his 4 month check-up and shots, so we will see how big he is then.

12/7/06  My little preemie is no longer a preemie....we went to the pediatrician today for Logan's two month check-up and he weighs 10lbs 9 oz!  What a chunk!  He is 22 inches long.  The doctor sat Logan on the table and held his hands and Logan just sat there holding his head up like a big boy.  Then he stood Logan up thinking his knees would buckle and Logan just stood there.  He is so strong.  The doctor said as strong and active as Logan is, he will be turning over anyday  now.  Logan starting grinning from ear to ear about two days ago, but unfortunately he is too tired by the time his dad gets home at night to show off his new talent.

12/1/06  Logan is eight weeks old today (he will be two months next Wednesday).  He has become a big boy.  We have forgotten that he was once a preemie.  He weighs about 10 pounds right now.  He has gained over 5 pounds in eight weeks!  He stays awake most of the day now and is starting to like to play with toys.  Logan thinks Sophie is the coolest thing to stare at.  Logan had his first pictures made this month and his first Thanksgiving.  At Thanksgiving he was the star of the show... forget that it was my birthday =)!  He had some other firsts this month.....first ultrasound, first upper GI and first catheder.  He was being tested for stomach and kidney problems but they only turned out to be minor issues.  He is beginning to crack little smiles, but we are still waiting for the big grins.   He has started to sit in his Bumbo seat; the Bumbo is meant for babies 3 months and older, but his head and neck are so strong that he can hold his own head up.  This weekend we are going with Matt and Holly so Logan and Cutter can get their pictures made with Santa and tell him what they want for Christmas.

11/10/06  Logan turned one month old on Monday.  I can't believe how fast it has gone and how much he has grown and changed already.  He now weighs 7lbs 5 oz and is 20 inches long.  The doctor could not believe that he had gained two pounds in 3 weeks; he was so proud of his progress.  Logan is starting to be more alert and active.  He grabs for toys on his playmat.  He is still eating every two hours at night which is killing me, but it is worth it to have a growing healthy boy.

10/23/06  Logan was officially 2 weeks old on Friday.  He is doing great!  When we came home from the hospital he had very high jaundice levels and we had to have a phototherapy machine brought to the house.  He had to stay in the machine all day for a week and was only to be out of it to be fed; we could not hold him.  He also had lost 6 oz.  He has since gotten over the jaundice and has been gaining weight like a champ.  He is so precious and Erik and I are so blessed.   There are days I just stare at him and get teary-eyed becuase I think of what a miracle he is.

10/6/06   Where to begin.  Bri woke up at about 4:30 this morning with contractions...Less than 24 hours after getting out of "bedrest jail", and 35 full weeks to the day.  She woke me up at about 6:00a.  We made it into the hospital at about 7:30a to find that the floor was completely full.  First time we've run into that situation (F.U. System). After sending a scheduled induction home, we landed in our room.  Our doctor came in to examine at about 8:30a, and before you could say "no turning back," she had broken Bri's water.  Fifteen minutes later, the epidural went in.  Friends and family dropped in throughout the morning.  By noon, she was fully dilated, and we were prepping to start the pushing.  Pushing started at about 10 after.  Then came the memorable quote.  Before 1:00p hit, Bri asked, "Is it supposed to take this long?"...Classic!  A good laugh was had by all in the room.  At 1:07p, out came Logan!  Damn does that kid have a lot of hair.  Bri did wonderfully.  So well, in fact, that his little face got smashed and bruised from descending so quickly.  Once delivered, all of his vitals were perfect with exception to muscle tone and response.  His little arms and legs flopped around like he'd sleeping on them all night.  They gave him a 9 of 10 overall, which is great.

Vitals: Weight - 5 lbs 4.5 oz; Length - 18.25 in; Head - 11.25 in; Chest - 10.5 in; Hair - Brown; Eyes - Blue

Once cleaned and warmed, he was wrapped and given to mom, then off to the nursery for some tests.  Since he was so bruised and not responding extremity wise, they tested his oxygen level, blood pressure, heart rate, etc.  All were perfect, so it was just sit and wait.  Three hours later, they decided he was up to visitors, so they brought him into our Post room to meet everyone.  Lots of smiles, laughs, "He's so littles," and "Look at the hair" ensued.

We've tried to breast feed a couple of times since, with little success.  He's so new and so tired that he just falls asleep in the middle...Guess dad will have to teach a thing or two.  He's not had a dirty diaper yet, so that'll be another hurdle to get over in the next 24 hours.

Suffice it to say, we are both very proud, very happy, very anxious, and not quite to the full realization yet of what we've just begun.  We'll keep everyone posted with pics and stories, so stay tuned.  We want to thank everyone who has helped and thought of us throughout this process.  It has been a long, rough road, and we could not have done it without all of you.  In the face of all of the odds, he truly is a little miracle...

10/5/06  We have had a very eventful last few weeks.  We were back in the hospital 9/14-9/16 trying to have Logan again.  They put me on an IV to stop labor.  We finally got to go home on strict bedrest and I was given a medicine to take daily to stop labor.  I went to the doctor today and completed 35 weeks.  She has taken me off the medicine and is letting nature take its course.  She thinks Logan will be here any day now.  There is no more room left and I am getting pretty uncomfortable.  I think Logan will be as tall as his dad (at least we hope so).  We are so grateful we have made it this far so little Logan will be born a healthy little boy.  Now the countdown is on, so stay tuned for baby news!

9/12/2006  We spent the weekend in the hospital with pre-term labor.  Logan has dropped and I have slowly begun to dialate.  The doctor put me on strict bedrest yesterday and thinks Logan will be here in the next couple of weeks.  Tomorrow we will get steroid shots for his lungs to prepare him for his early arrival.  All that is left to do is wait now.  It will be typical of the Lindholm humor if Logan decides to wait and come at full term. =)

8/28/2006  August has been a very busy month.  Holly, Halston and Kelly gave me a baby shower on August 19th.  Logan got lots of great presents!  I think he is all set; thank you everyone for all of the wonderful gifts.  Erik finished Logan's room after several weeks of working very hard.  The room looks perfect (there are pictures on the picture page).  Logan has tried to come early a couple of more times, but thanks to the wonderful nurses at Labor and Delivery and some medicine, we are able to keep him in the oven for a little while longer.  We started child birth classes a couple of weeks ago and we have four more classes left.  I am on a bi-weekly schedule at the doctor for now, then in a couple of weeks we will move to weekly appointments.  At our last appointment last week (29 weeks), Logan weighed 3.5 lbs.  Babies gain about 1/2 lb per week from here on out, so if we go full term, Logan will be an 8.5 or 9 lb baby.  He is kicking me like crazy; Erik can't believe how much he kicks.  Watch out David Beckham; Logan will be the next soccer superstar!

7/18/2006  Erik and I went to the doctor last Wenesday for our montly check-up.  Logan had grown considerably.  He now weighs about 1 1/2 pounds and is about 12" long.  I had finally gained my first amount of weight.  6 months pregnant and 7 lbs gained.  He is using up all of the space I have in my tummy and is kicking me all day and night.  He spends most of his time under my right ribs.  Since he is growing on my right side, he does not like it when I sleep on my right side and he wakes me up to let me know.  We go back to the doctor on August 10.
