We were lucky enough to have a white Christmas this year!! Rylee thought it would be fun to shovel the driveway. When she bored of that, she tried to sled down the driveway on her shovel!! Such a resourceful child!!

Rylee's 5th Birthday!!- As you all know, it has offically been 5 years! I can't believe it! It seems like yesterday we were having baby showers and now we're having 5th birthday parties and getting ready for kindergarten in the fall! Man, it's scary how quickly things change!
This year for Rylee's birthday, we decided to keep things small. Aunt Leslie came up to see us and brought Lucky. She couldn't bring Uncle Matt because he was looking for forest fires in Texas. It's his birthday too, you know?! Please wish him a special birthday as well!! We miss him so much when he is gone away, but we know that he has an important job!! Friday night Aunt Leslie, Nana, Mommy, and Rylee went to the movies! We took her to see the new Hannah Montana movie! She was so precious! We all looked over at her once while "Miley/Hannah" was singing the song "The Climb" and Rylee was singing her heart out...right along with the movie. It was so precious! It almost made me cry thinking about how much she's grown!
On Saturday (the weekend before her birthday) we had over a few close friends and family. Of course there was, Rylee, Nana, and Mommy. Aunt Leslie, Lucky the kitty, and Mamaw came too! Then Grandma, B, Nick, and Tyler came! Finally, Ms. Stephanie came! We ate lots of pizza and cheese sticks and talked for a long time. Rylee wore her new "make up" that Nana had gotten for her! She's so proud of it! After we ate, she opened presents! She got a ton of neat toys this year. She got a huge R/C SUV, some Tinker Bell stuff, 2 games, a couple of books, and several outdoor water toys. She was so excited! We really enjoyed having all our family there with us to celebrate her birthday! Before the night was over, Nick and Tyler had run Rylee down playing with her. They all ran in circles for an hour or so chasing each other! Then after she went to bed, Nana, Mommy, Aunt Leslie, Stephanie, and Brad played games until midnight.
A good time was had by all...
A week of snow, sort of- On Monday (1/26) it started sleeting pretty heavily. It didn't take long for it to accumulate. We closed school early, got our kids home as quickly as possible, and headed home! It was a little slippery driving home, but thank the Lord, we made it safely! Nana came and stayed with us for a couple of days in case the electricity went out. That way we would have someone else to talk to and play games with. Thankfully, we only lost our electricity for about an hour. Whew... some people went without lights and heat for several days and may not have it for several more days! After all was said and done we probably got about 2 inches of ice and a dusting of snow. Needless to say, school was called off for the rest of the week. I decided to let Rylee get out and play in the "snow" one afternoon because we had a severe case of cabin fever. While she was playing she fell in the snow. It was really cute. She had a blast playing outside but we are both ready for school to start back! Hope you all survived the winter weather as well!
