30 May - Hope everyone had a memorable Memorial Day and weekend! Mom sure did...Daddy surprised with a new car! It's a Honda Pilot and we all love it. The boys' especially like the better view, it's easier for them to see around and out. Plus it rides like a dream so they can doze off, like today after we ran some errands. Speaking of leaving the house, Sophie did very well today, Mom left the tv on for her and she didn't get into any trouble. Guess she thought someone was there with her and she didn't look for trouble. Sophie is adjusting well, as are the boys. They interact with her well and love to play together. Sophie is still a puppy at jus a year old so she loves to play, but most of the time she just lounges around.

Well the boys' are napping now so Mom is gonna join Sophie on the couch for a bit of rest herself!

Check out the Evans Twins...Reese and Miah are a year older than us and Mommy likes to keep up with them so she has some idea of where we're headed!!  Plus they have a lot of cool fun out there in Cali!!

25 May - Same day new update. Mom can't get a break it seems. Tuesday Brett wouldn't nap, Wednesday Gabe wouldn't and then today Brett didn't again! Soooo she has one of us up all day!! Good thing Sofie keeps us entertained some so that Mom has a chance to catch her breath! Right now the boys' are outside alternating between their pool and their trampoline, looks Mom and Sofie are the only ones running out of steam....

25 May - Looks like we have a new addition to the family. "Sofie" is here for what we believed to be dogsitting while Rob's co-worker prepared to PCS to England. Well, with the 6-month quarantine for England they weren't prepared and told Rob if we didn't want to keep her he'd need to take her to the Humane Society!! Can you believe? What you think is a favor has such hidden motives...I could never send her, or any other pet there...sooo thank goodness she is adjusting well to us, the boys' like her and she isn't destructive. SO far she has shown a very sweet disposition. It has kind of forced a workaround for our daily activities--but hey flexibility is the KEY to life with twins!

23 May - Well Saturday night at Peter Piper's Pizaa was an "experience". Gabe didn't nap that day and he was cranky...plus all of the people and noise and excitement had both of them a bit freaked out. We enjoyed visiting with Auntie Sharon and Courtney but we'll rethink a Saturday night at that place! Daddy came home from his Chicago trip on SUnday and the boys were super happy to see him, Mom too!
Monday was back to work for Daddy and he brought a surprise for the boys. We're dogsitting for a few weeks and he brought home Sofie. Everybody is still getting used to the "newness" of a pet...as is evidenced by pics from last night. Brett took to her right away, Gabe was a bit skiddish but is arming up to her today. Right now as I type Gabe is trying to brush her teeth! This will be a good test run to see how a pet would fit into the family! So far so good but it hasn't been 24 hours yet...on the bright side she already is potty-trained so she has one up the boys! LOL

We're all going out back to do some more yard work...I'm sure more "twin tales" will follow soon!

20 May - Rob has been in Chicago for a few days and the boys and I have been missing him AND filling the days with as much activity as possible!! Yesterday for example, we did some shopping, ran some errands, went to the park, had dinner at McDonald's and played at the playland for an hour! (Dad forgot to mention how he gets them to come down and leave!! UGH) We've made use of the pool (both ours and the neighborhood olympic size), gotten exercise on the trampoline, did some craft projects. Last night was such a late night for us...we didn't get home until 8 p.m. (normal bathtime) and the boys had some new water soaker guns they were itching to try out...sooo after a half hour in the backyard with those our schedule was a bit off. Mom had a novel idea and thought "what about a quick shower?". HUGE HIT!! The boys loved it...it wasn't so much quick because they didn't want to come out but I can honestly say they were squeaky clean! We've had alot of fun and there's more to come...tonight Auntie Sharon and Courtney are coming over and we're taking the boys' out to Peter Piper's pizza for some food and fun! Yeehaw!
The boys' and I went to get some movies and I let them walk in with me, that's a tough place for kids. All the easy to reach stuff and that darned candy center near the checkout!! But we did it..two movies and a couple of big bags of M&Ms later we were home reviewing some movies. The boys' both gave "Wallace & Gromit" a resounding thumb's WAY down...but "Doogall" has been a huge hit! They love it, looks like we'll be purchasing that to add to our repetoire of entertainment.

Mom apologizes for the delay in story updates -- but really she doesn't because she's been having so much fun with the boys' she hasn't had time to sit at the computer! Well off to work on some puzzles with "da boyz!"

13 May - Sneaking an overdue story in here! Mother's Day weekend was sooo much fun. Saturday we went to "Spring Fling" at the lake. The boys just had a blast in the water. With their life vests and the addition of arm floaties they were off and on their own, swimming to the ropes and the other children like they'd been born fish! There was a Petting Zoo (Mom got mauled by a bunny rabbit...seriously!), and there were pony rides...the boys' showed interest and then decided NOT to ride, there was a tatoo booth (both boys got Harry Potter tats), there was a mural to help paint (man did they LOVE that..thanks Courtney for your patience!), there was music and free food...man it was great!! We stayed all day and then into the night. Sharon and Courtney had a cabin so we grilled out and visited with them. By the time we got home it was after 10 p.m. and the boys were exhausted. What a fantastic family outing!
SUnday, Mother's Day and Mom got the Royal Treatment...not a finger to lift, just a day of pampering and love...who could ask for more?!

What a lucky woman I am to be fortunate enough to be called Mother by these beautiful boys' and to have a loving husband who truly and openly appreciates me for being his partner and the Mother to his children. Man, life sure is good!!

10 May - We did it! The boys' had their first dentist appointment yesterday!!! Rob got off of work so we could do the "Team Lombardi" trip to the dentist. First let me start by saying how AMAZING this place was...it was done in an aquarium--Finding Nemo theme...there was a game room/waiting area with coral towers that had video games built in to it. There were flat screen tv's on the walls playing "Finding Nemo". It was such an awesome office, I think Rob had the most fun!! Anyway, once the boys' got to go back for the exam they looked and even though there was Baby Einstein playing in their room and toys galore all they saw was the ..equipment...both knew something was up. They weren't really happy to have the dentists looking in their mouths. Fortunately she was super thorough and speedy, speedy. They got goodie bags of prizes and treats. Man, Mom wishes she had a dentist like that!! Such a shame that we won't be here for their check-up in 6 months. But the best news of all is they are doing great...their teeth are perfect and the dentist was very, very happy to see such gleeming pearly whites!

6 May - Friday ended up on a relaxing note...Daddy heard about Mommy's hectic day and brought her home dinner, flowers, a card, a bottle of wine and ran her a candlelit bubble bath...we better watch out or she might get spoiled! Mom took us to the neighborhood swimming pool on Friday when she figured out we were NOT going to nap, it was sooo much fun. The boys' had a great time and Gabriel did NOT want to leave...surprise, surprise. Mom did a good job keeping an eye on both of us and taking turns playing in the water. SHe says it'll be easier when Daddy comes tothe pool with us but she's proud of herself for handling us solo!
Speaking of handling on a solo mission, Daddy took the boys' to "Inflatable World" a new place that's indoors and full of giant inflatable slides and bouncers and stuff. The boys' had a great time and Dad was proud of himself for handling the afternoon on his own. Together Mom and Dad are Large in Charge, but they've proved they can handle us on their own too! We are definetely in good hands...like "ALL STATE!"

5 May - Okey Dokey...It's only 10:00 and Mom already needs a nap! So far today, they've had breakfast and snacks...played outside...front AND backyards...colored with markers...did some potty training (Mom is the one getting trained really!!)...found some hidden peanut butter M&M's...thrown a few tantrums each (after all they ARE TWO!)...gotten over the tantrums and found some other hidden things to pull out and play with, all in all this day proves to be quite interesting to say the VERY least....TGIF and Dad will be here for some back-up for Mom.
UPDATE: It is now 10 minutes later...10:10 and the boys' managed to get a hold of some toiletries and pour astringent all over the bathroom carpet...lotion in their hair and all over the floor as well. We had a discussion about the error of their ways and I swear they looked at me like, "so what's the problem?" Mom's cracking the top on her second can of Red Bull (energy drink) of the day...thank goodness we buy them buy the case!! Just gotta keep on laughing and saying my serenity prayer....LOL

2 MAy - Still hot here in Texas...but man yesterday we had one CRAZY storm!! The boys' and I were having dinner and BOOM the bottom fell out of the sky. We watched out of the kitchen bay windows as hail started pounding down. Lightning, thunder, heavy rain and this crazy hail storm had us all looking at each other like ..."what's going on?!?" Of course Mom had it under control...or at least she was "faking it until she could make it!" We called Dad at work afterwards to tell him the frontyard looked like we got a couple of inches of SNOW!! Then 45 minutes past and it was nice weather again. That just left me and the boys' with clean up of the yard today...well Mom cleaned and they followed behind dumping out what she put into buckets until she learned to just wait until they napped!!
On a funny note, today was beautiful weather so we headed outdoors to play(after the attempted clean-up from yesterday's storm). Mom decided she needed a bit of sun on her "lilly white" self so she put on a bikini top with her shorts. Well on a break inside for a snack she was sitting at the computer and Gabriel came up behind her, she thought to give hugs.....oh no...in a quick snap he'd undone Mom's bikini buckle and left her laughing silly! Of course that just made him want to do it again and again until Mom finally had to redirect him. That apple definetely did NOT fall far from his Daddy's tree!!!

Brett is really into Blue's Clues these days. He'll dance with every song and sing along and he even acts out all of the parts...like he'll go get his notepad and pen for the clues...then he'll make a big production out of sitting in his "thinking chair". He gets going and then Gabe and I will join in with him and we'll just laugh, dance and sing silly, silly, silly!!

1 May - Another scorcher here in Texas...but we had a great day playing and then cooling down. Those pesky back molars are working through and starting to make the boys' a bit uncomfortable. They both seem to be hanging tough but I know it must be a constant hurt. gabriel helped Dad wash the car again today....man I swear that child is the BIGGEST little helper EVER! He just loves to get in there and do, do , do! Meanwhile Brett is becoming more and more verbal...so funny because he's using hand gestures just like his Italian heritage!

29 Apr - Check out the new pictures...Dad built us a new and improved sandbox...it's huge!! We can all play...or we can put all of our toys in it...or pretend we are at the beach in Florida!! Way to go Dad!!

Hi. In the future I'm going to keep here links to their sites. But I do not worry about the sites where my link is removed. So if you do not want to see a mountain of links, simply delete this message. After 2 weeks, I will come back and check.

28 Apr - "Move the Car"...Gabriel loves saying this now, complete with two-hand and full arm movement gestures. See the boys' occasionally help Dad repark the cars in the driveway after dinner, depending on how they were parked earlier. Anyway, they'll climb in and move mom's car and then climb into dad's and drive around the block and then park it. Both boys' get soooo excited about this. Well last night Gabriel actually MOVED THE CAR. Dad was backing up when Gabriel decided he'd like to change gears like dad does and pushed it into drive just as dad hit the gas....TAP...right into the rear-quarter panel of Rob's car. No serious damage but he really did "move the car".

Brett has a new buddy, they got some better quality action figures and he definetely likes playing with them. He has them jumping, flying and anything else his little imagination can come up with at the time.

Oh and our fave show list has changed. No longer are they "Wiggle" boys'...nor do they care fo the "Backyardigans". We're all about Dora the explorer! Funny, 6 months ago they didn't care for it and now they love it. They still like their "Harry Potter" they love the "Chamber of Secrets", they reinact the flying car scenes...complete with yelling on que and have learned to snap their fingers from the movie.

23 Apr - Busy, busy, busy around here this weekend! The boys' got new much shorter haircuts. It should help them in this heat...mom is still adjusting to the change. I swear I can't get over the change!!! The boys' seem really happy with them. Both Mom and Dad went to get the haircuts this time and it helped the whole process. It's soooo cute because they look soooo much like their Daddy now.
Miss Courtney had her prom Saturday night and I was most honored to go and help her get ready. We had fun playing with make-up and hairstyles and being all girlie-girlie! While Courtney was at prom. Sharon and I had a girls' night out. What fun we had. She introduced me to a new game called "1,2,3" and suffice to say I DID NOT have beginner's luck!! LOL It was a great evening for everyone!
Sunday, Rob went and played some golf while Raquel and C.J. came over to work on a school project and play with the boys. It was fun helping him make a miniature Fiesta float. He chose a "military, patriotic theme" and we went hog-wild with the decorations!! It is a truly awesome float...I think he likes it a bit! As soon as they left the boys' woke up from their nap and we made a run to get some movies...they did awesome in the video store! Very well behaved...Whohooo!! Later in the day when Dad returned from his golf outing he didn't seem the same...he'd messed up his ankle pretty bad and is using his putter as a crutch until he goes to the doctor in the morning...poor guy, all he wanted to do was have some "guy" fun and he ended up with a boo-boo! The boys' are taking it easy on him because they can tell Dad isn't up for "Wrestlemania" tonight. ;-)

22 Apr - Finally over all stages of colds around here...Whohoo!! The boys' had a first time experience with Mom yesterday. We had to take an elevator ride and the boys' were walking (not in the stroller). I forgot they hadn't experienced the physic lesson of an elevator ascent. Poor Brett, fortunately we only had to go up one floor because he was none too pleased with the unusual experience!! Then on the way down I just held Brett to avoid his uncomfort but then Gabriel reacted to the descent and lunged for my leg to maintain his balance! Once we exited and they were on solid ground they were both fine but chalk that up to Mom NOT being "all-knowing!"
So after the elevator ride up to the 2nd floor we had to go to pick up something at a jewelry store. Whoa, again Mom hadn't scoped out the area and what an adventure! It sounded like a broken record of Mom saying "put that down". Just for example, this lovely jewelry store had the standard glass cases....with golf balls displayed on the floor! C-O-O-L.....NOT!!!!! Seriously, the boys' were well behaved, just curious and they listened very well. But I think we'll keep our fragile shopping days limited to stroller time.
One more recent update...I've found out that the boys' LOVE fruit roll-ups! I mean really love them...Rob took notice and said, "Hon, you know that's NOT real fruit?!?" Hmmmm, I think I'll petition to have fruit roll-ups listed as a real part of the fruit group in the daily pyramid. Sounds good to me, whatcha think?! Speaking of passion for things, Mr. Gabriel is SUCH a milk lover. That child drinks an amazing amount of milk! We switched to lowfat and he's always asking for "mo milk". And last but not least, Mom had to dig back into the chest of "childproofing" items. Mr. Brett decided it was no problem for him to go open the freezer (bottom door variety) and get his own ice-pops and DIBS (ice cream) whenever he needed. So we now have the latch and he seems to finally have adjusted to that inconvenience. Oh yes these guys keep us on our TOES!

18 Apr - The boys' had a wonderful Easter weekend. Loads of goodies from the Easter Bunny!! They even went to their first movie...we took them to see "The Wild". Brett got right into it and Gabriel loved the popcorn and Icee...then after about an hour Gabe wanted to check out the other rows and soon Brett followed. So we called it a great first attempt and headed home. For their age I think an hour sitting watching a movie in the theater quietly is quite an accomplishment!
The weather here has been record-breaking H-O-T!! We try to get out early in the day to go to the park, or shopping or whatever and then we stay as cool as possible for the rest of the day until the sun starts going down and we can head back outdoors for some play around the time Daddy gets home from work.
yesterday on a shopping trip the boys' picked out some toys and I had to call Rob right away to tell him what Brett picked out. A set of commando action fictures...Rob was tickled that it was a "guy" toy. I guess no more baby dolls for my babies...I still can't belive how big they are and how fast they've grown.

15 Apr - This past Thursday the boys' had their two-year-old check ups. It went pretty well. They are both great in all of their stats...Gabriel is 35.9 inches tall and weighs 29.12 lbs -- Brett is 35.6 inches tall and weighs 28.5 lbs. The pediatrician was more than pleased with everything about them. They only had to get one shot this time and they did such a great job for us Daddy took them toy shopping! Too funny to watch them taking forever to pick out a toy. No sooner would they pick one up than another would catch their eye!!
"Working at the Car Wash" the boys' helped Rob clean his car yesterday...it was sooo cute to watch them washing and having sooo much fun with Daddy. I've got a few pics to post of that. I'll do it now because in a bit when the boys' go to bed we have to be sure to let the Easter Bunny in the house when he comes to visit them. Happy Easter to all...may you continue to be richly blessed!

11 Apr - Still fighting off the colds but we're out having fun...we just have learned to blow our own noses quickly!! They both don't want to do it all of the time, but the majority of the time when prompted they'll blow their nose...YIPEE!!
Today was really nice, Rob had the Merry Maids come back and clean the entire house and so I took the boys' out for the day while the abode was getting a work over. Man those gals did an AMAZING job this time! WHat a joy to come into a totally clean house! The boys' were napping after our outing so I had an hour or two to just enjoy the clean house all alone. Hmmm nice. We even managed to keep it pretty clean so Daddy could enjoy it when he got home too!
As for our outing. The boys' said they wanted to go to the park, so off we went for an hour or so. Then we stopped by the library for a bit. But the ultimate activity today was an "oh why not" stop off at a new local pet store. The boys' agreed to hold my hand if I let them walk on their own...so off we went. It was great!! They absolutely adored the puppies, this store was set up really cool, it had different themed areas for all the "wildlife". The boys' behaved soooo wonderfully. I think a puppy will definetely be somewhere in the future for them/us.

7 Apr - We're all trying to shake off colds these days. Everyone seems to be hanging tough but the coughs are the worst thing right now. Even though they may be a bit "under the weather" you really can't tell much because the boys still want to go,go and play, play. We're just trying to make sure everyone is getting plenty of rest so we'll all be fit as a fiddle in no time soon!
A few days ago, before the colds sat in we had a wonderful visit with "Auntie" Deb. She was in town for a few days from Portugal. She came bringing the boys bunches of new books...she ALWAYS gets these guys the coolest books! She stayed most of the afternoon and evening and you can see from the pictures the boys loved having her here!!
Today Daddy is re-enlisting in the Air Force, we didn't get to go because we're feeling yucky but he knows how proud of him that we all are!! Actually it will be very cool because he's doing it at the Confidence Course...a great big obstacle course! What fun...but we couldn't have played on it anyway...'cuz we're civilians! Guess we'll just keep making our own obstacle courses around here!
