11 Aug - Had alot of fun with the boys today. Played in just about every area of the house. They are so much fun and so into learning and trying new things. They love to run and be chased and to chase back. Dad says that they both are into turning the shower on these days at the beginning of their baths.

9 Aug - Teething report: All of Brett's canines are visible...Gabriel's finally popped through the skin on the bottom to match the top, but he had alittle bleeding with these. Poor thing he always has a rougher time with the teeth breaking through. Strange how teething affects Brett's sleep and Gabriel gets a bit clingy and has more physical pain. Anyway, they are doing fabulous!

We're hoping to convert the guest room to the boys' new bedroom (big boy beds!) and turn their nursery into a full out playroom. I'm making progress in clearing through the clutter! Between Rob and I we have amassed some serious "stuff"!

Story of the day...as I sat at the computer I saw Gabriel go into the kitchen to play...no harm. Then I just glanced to check on him and saw~~~~ Mr. Gabe jumping on the kitchen table! My heart stopped but I calmly (so as not to frighten him and cause him to fall) went to him and gave him a stern discussion on not climbing on the chairs and table in the kitchen and the seriousness of what had happened. He only tried once more the whole day, and at that time as soon as I looked at him he stepped back to the floor from the "perch" onto the chair position. We've got to keep an eye for that and stress that is a definite no-no.

One funny story to end on a light note. After baths the boys were playing in the den and got out their stick ponies from Grandma. I tried not to laugh but they both kept trying to ride them the wrong way (with the ponies' heads on the ground) Well all this did was make it so they kept knocking themselves in the forehead with the "stick" part. Not hard mind you, but it made me laugh because they couldn't figure out why they were getting hit! I showed them the right way but they kept turning them upside down and bouncing around. So cute. After a "ready for bed" they both headed off to their room for night-night.

8 Aug - This weekend the boys' got a surprise from Grandma Dwight, she sent them mini big wheels. As soon as Brett saw his he knew what it was and started yelling to get at it, he'd played on one at Toys-R-Us awhile back. Anyway, they have been scooting around on them. They can just reach the pedals so we are working on the whole pedaling for motion thing. Once they figure it out there will be NO stopping them zooming around I'm sure.

Lately Brett likes to hide things in other people's clothing. He's constantly trying to put toys up/down my shirt. So funny. He's also been trying to snap his fingers for awhile. Not there yet but he really tries! Gabriel has become quite the expert jumping bean these days. He bounces all over like a kangaroo! They are such delights. I am so blessed to have my days filled with such love and affection.

5 Aug - This evening our close friend and the boys' Auntie Deb came over to watch them while Mom and Dad went out to dinner! The boys' had a big time with her and made her laugh and laugh!! She took the photo below of the boys playing IN the box of toys. It was a treat for everyone...mom and dad got to spend some time together and the boys' and Auntie Deb got to chase each other around!

5 Aug - New pictures posted today. The boys and I played in their room for a bit this morning. They love running in and out of their closet, hiding and seeking of sorts. We just had snacktime, bananas, and I have to tell this funny story. These days Gabriel likes to have food in both hands. So he wants two of everything. Well, now he's increased the request to three! How, you ask? I had cut up some bananas and had them on a plate for them. Gabriel grabbed the usual one for each hand and then immediately leaned down and gobbled up a third piece with his mouth/face...NO HANDS! I was rolling, laughing so hard! Then he shoved the first two in his mouth and repeated the process. One in each hand and a third right away in the mouth from the plate. Meanwhile, Brett takes one at a time and eats it and then gets another. But at this rate Brett might lose weight while Gabriel balloons! Just kidding...I make sure they both get plenty!!

4 Aug - Different day...different music theme around here. Today we boogied all day to REGGAE! These guys have certainly got some rythm!! We just made up our own island-style moves.

Lately, Gabriel has been backing up and sitting between our legs whenever we sit in the floor. Well today he did it to his brother. It was precious. Brett was sitting in the floor and Gabriel scooted back up and sat back against him.

3 Aug - Today the boys' and I spent some time out in the garage getting things ready to take to the local M.O.M. garage sale. Anyway, it was pretty warm out there and after two ice pops, these guys needed some water. Sooo I give them each a 16 ounce, half full bottle of water...thinking well it's just water if they dump it right away no harm. But NOOOO, these boys started drinking it! Little to no spillage! I was sooo proud of them!! I grabbed my bottled water and kept drinking with them. As they neared the end of the bottle, I'm guessing they were pretty full, a bit started coming out when they'd tilt to high but man they did AWESOME!!! Maybe this is the way to transition to cups? Who knows...I'm just really proud of them both.

2 Aug - Lots of jumping going on these days. Dancing too! Gabriel has just about mastered an even jump. It took some practice, he'd try to jump and kind bounce off one foot and then the other. But now he can jump. Brett can too but he doesn't seem to enjoy it quite as much as Gabriel.

Finally got the boys back in the pool! They loved it and didn't seem to want to get out!

1 Aug - Oh how happy Mom is these days to be back at home. I only tried out part-time evening work when Rob could watch the boys'(all of three weeks!) but that just was NOT working for us. Too many reasons NOT to do it. So I am happy and have more energy these days.

Let's see today as I tried to catch video of it the camera locked and so I'll have to describe their newest derby. Brett rides the truck and Gabriel pushes him around the lkitchen...really faaaaast! They just laugh and laugh.

Also, this evening in the bath I came in and tried to get the boys' to show dad what we worked on today...parts of the body. So our first example for dad...I say where's your nose? Honestly, one right after another both boys' grab their ears! We just laughed and laughed. But looks like we'll do some remedial work soon.

Brett's canine's have finally cut through to show some white. Gabe has one bit of white but they'll be soon to follow. I still can't believe these guys have so many teeth so very young!

More updates...more often! Check back again! More pictures to come too!!

30 July - Mom and Dad THOUGHT they were going to put us to bed and paint the den/living room in one quick shot. Ha ha ha...they forgot we work in PAIRS!!

Even with a detour from the boys' we finished home improvement project #2! The rooms look really nice and I forgot how much of an impact color can have! The "game plan" was for me to bathe and put the boys through their nightime routine while Rob taped the rooms ( I'd already taken down the wall stuff). So...on point. boys go down at 8:30 and we get into paint mode. Just when we establish a groove and start to make some real progress...Brett wakes and will NOT be consoled or quieted. We tried everything, changed him, gave him some milk, rocked/cuddled...so Mom finally said, "come on and join the painting party". Brett was placed in a playpen in the middle of the room and was content as could be. HOWEVER, no sooner had we quieted Brett than Gabriel awoke frightened and pissed about it all. He would ONLY stop crying if he was held. We tried all of the above with Gabriel and Mom ended up going back into the boys room with them to watch 2 more episodes of the Wiggles. By now it is 12:30 or so and our "painting plan is shot to pieces", BUT the boys' are rubbing their eyes and showing signs of sleepiness! Whohoooo. They go down by 1 a.m. and we're back on to painting these rooms. Well, it's the morning after and I think it looks fabulous. Lesson learned? Roll with the punches, and my favorite quote these days..."If you want to hear God laugh, tell him your plan." LOL....I love that line from the Van Zant brothers latest album. All is well, the boys still awoke at their normal time today and we've already had breakfast, walks and rode laps around the house on our cars. They are at present down for a nap, no fuss...just rest. I'm headed that way too. Our project completion time? 4 A.M. but it's b-e-a-t-u-i-f-u-l... ;-)

26 July - Brett didn't sleep much last night, so neither did Mom. He was up from about 2-3 a.m. and then again from 4-5 a.m. Thought maybe he'd sleep in, but nope he's up at the usual 7:30 and Gabriel is still sleeping and it's 8:30. Go figure. Hopefully the extra rest will help him get over this mild cold. Whatever it is Mom has it with the boys now too.

25 July - Off to a strong start today...strong as in the smell in the house! Mom dropped and broke a bottle of tea tree oil in the kitchen and MAN DOES IT STINK!!! Both boys' have colds, maybe the "accidental aromatherapy" will help them.

Hi everyone. You have to have funny faces and words, you can't just have words. It is a powerful thing, and I think that's why it's hard for people to imagine that women can do that, be that powerful.
I am from Cambodia and now teach English, tell me right I wrote the following sentence: "Gulf coast recovery executive alcohol treatment center addresses the unique needs and requirements of successful professionals who wish to begin recovery.Drug rehab alcohol rehab addiction treatment intervention blog center alcohol treatment center."

21 July - We made it back to the gym today! The boys did a bit better, I managed a quick workout and the earth didn't fall of of its' axis! Imagine that!! LOL

I'm still working on this newest website for the boys'... I figured we'd share the Wiggles with others! I mean if I've got their songs stuck in my head for days, why shouldn't others?!?! Hahaha, I'm just cracking myself up today.

The boys' are down for their mid-day (and only nap) so I'm gonna lay down too! I'll be back a bit later with more news.

20 July - The boys and I finally went to the gym today. I want them to have an outlet for meeting other children and an opportunity to work out. Today was a "get your feet wet" day so they only stayed in the children's area for about 30 minutes. I had some coffee and read the ENTIRE newspaper! Whoohoo... I know...not a real workout, but hey it was a mental workout at least! LOL They were funny, they weren't happy to be there initially, but I could see them from the manager's office video monitor when I checked and they were both just playing and playing!!! Then when I went to get them they both started crying. We're going back tomorrow and hopefully they'll adjust relatively soon. They catch on pretty quick.

Speaking of "catching on" they continue to amaze me (startle me too). First Brett knew right away something was different in the bathtub and started playing with the new bathtub sealant Rob had put in, fortunately it had dried but he kept trying to peel it off! So funny. Then tonight after baths as I was getting their room ready for bed, I came back and the boys were playing in the kitchen. Only when I saw gabriel I knew he was really taller than normal. This child has learned to climb up and stand on chairs. Gotta work on that because the hard tile in the kitchen scares me should he fall. Or even worse he was trying to climb onto the kitchen table, what if he gets up there and can't figure out how to get down?!? I'm as always, trying to stay up with them, the days of being ahead are far gone.

Also, on a "days gone by note" we also went shopping for some new shoes today and low and behold these kiddos are wearing....prepare yourself...SIZE 7!!! I knew they had outgrown their 5 1/2's but OH MY...They both loved their new shoes and Gabriel had a fit when we got home and I tried to take them off! So I let them keep them on for a bit...picking my battles!

Dinner tonight was interesting also. I thought they'd go ape for the grilled cheese and tater tots. But they both kept eyeing my Asparagus Risotto and I shared some and they LOVED it! Too funny.

Well they are winding down, we're implementing a one nap a day schedule so we're all a little off these days. They were definetely ready for just the one but it's only our second day with it so we'll be patient and I'm sure it'll be fine. Gotta run and get some hugs and kisses time in with the darling monkeys before they visit slumberland!

18 July - It's been a few days since the last update. It's more secondhand news from Dad, Mom has started working part-time in the evenings and so Dad has his hands full!

Well my little "eat everything and anything" boys' have started developing some of their favorites and NOT SO favorites. Gabriel still loves rice cakes but Brett would rather have fig newtons. They both have decided they don't care for pineapple right now. Still loving mandarin oranges, grapes and watermelon! PBJ sandwiches are still a hit and so is mac'n cheese. They love the little ice cream bites called "Dibs"...these things are great because they can have ice cream and it's so neat and easy! No mess.

We've lowered their cribs all the way down and taken the rollers off of the bottoms. These guys "popcorn" as Grandma Dwight called them were bouncing pretty high and hard and this is the last stand beofre toddler beds.

They love to ride their little fire trucks around at warp speed, forward...backward and spin around on them. They chase each other around in the kitchen on the tile floor because they can pick up some serious speed.

Gabriel likes to hide these days, sometimes under the crib and then often he'll just put his hands over his face and think you can't see him! Too cute. Brett is very animated when he talks and Rob says it's like me with 1,000 facial expressions, it's quite entertaining!

Never a dull moment around these parts!

11 July - Grandma Dwight made it safely back home and we already miss her! The boys have been playing with their new toys all morning. Rocking out with their Wiggles' guitars. Playing with their stick ponies, they figured out how to turn on the sound for real horse sounds. They however, haven't figured out the right end to ride. They like to drag their ponies around with the head down (like a broom).

I'm definetely going to look into buying stock in Quaker oats "Quakes" rice snacks! These boys LOVE them. i swear if gabriel doesn't have at least one in his mouth and one in each hand he is letting me know, standing at the kitchen counter reaching for the bag.

Been doing some more "decorating with/for children". I finally got the DVD/CD/Video cabinets down and moved. This works much better and frees up space for play!

The next big move will be the boys into the larger guest room, and turning their nursery into a playroom. First, I plan on painting and decorating our master bedroom. So as you can see there are still many, many projects to do!

Rob told me my birthday present early because it will take some coordinating. He's taking a few days off of work and staying with the boys' and flying me, solo, to my Mom's for my birthday! I'm so very excited and a bit sad too. I know that some rest and "me" time is much needed but it'll sure be hard to be away from these guys!

There are a WHOLE LOT of new pictures so have a look see. I even have one of each of the boys with "pigtails!" Rob wasn't thrilled but Mom and I thought it was too funny NOT to capture on film!

10 July - Hello everyone, Sadly I must say this is my last report. Got ya!! for NOW that is!! Granmas always have a way of showing up real soon. I can't stay away from these little guys very long. They are just growing and changing so fast.

In just the last three days we have experienced going for the first official visit to the children's speciality hair care salon. These boys sat patiently in little seats that were a race car and a fire engine complete with the bell. They watched videos and doled out beautiful smiles for all to see. Thanks to mom's previous training they were both little gentlemen and made me oh so proud!!

They took me to the zoo where we saw the monkeys and played at the camp area. The birds were all around and we checked out the Indian teepee thoroughly.

Oh not to forget, we had to make a trip to Toys-R-Us to get supplies for our favorite TV show WIGGLES. Now we have our own guitars, our Wiggles dolls, and Wiggles bouncers!! and mom and dad are SOOO happy. They don't have to turn on the tv anymore, just for our show. We can turn on the music anytime we want to.In fact it very seldom goes OFF!!! Everyone in the family sings these tricky tunes ALL OF THE TIME.

We are off to breakfast and the airport for this very satisified Granma. It has been a real pleasure to report this week. I will soon be home and again reading this page daily for the updates and activities of these little angels. Sincerely, Granma Jesse

7 July - Well, again things are moving very fast around here. That's the way it is for these fun loving boys. The family enjoyed the fireworks for the Fourth of July. The boys were sitting and pointing at the beautiful explosion of lights in the summer night sky. Yesterday I had the boys all to myself for the whole day. This sure brought back some precious heartfelt memories. Now you don't want to get me started on how wonderful that was. I will just keep it simple. We danced, sang, watched Wiggles and played, played, and played some more. They were PERFECT and I smiled all day. If laughter heals I am Oh!! so well !!!

They have started riding their little fire engines around & around the dining table in the kitchen. Did I mention that they ride, as mom would say, at warped speed, chasing each other and playing bumper cars. OH!! so funny..

Yes, it is still hot as blazes in Texas. These little fellows enjoy cooling off at the end of each day with a refreshing dip in their pool. Ending their day with lots of hugs and kisses. Stay tuned there is more to come ...

4 July - Here is to a most exciting Fourth of July, in Texas with a special Lombardi FLARE. This weekend has been power packed as usual. Here's a little recap. Friday night upon my arrival I was honored to participate in the famous Lombardi Family Friday Night Pizza. The boys were all smiles and quickly I was able to start collecting those much anxiously awaited for hugs and kisses in person. Rob and Autumn have again rolled out the red carpet of loving hospitaility.

Yesterday we went to the Ringling Bros.,Barnum & Bailey Circus it was an awesome experience. The boys were so into all the sights and sounds. Popcorn and cotton candy was flying every where. It was just too cool!! That was the circus not the weather. It was 100+ degrees so we finished the day splashing in the pool with the boys. What a refreshing way to end a magical day. They will be swimming very soon. They have the timing and the movements all in place.

Speaking of movements these boys can dance and do all over the place... They have already got camping gear, complete with mountain tents, sleeping bags, folding chairs, whistles and flashlights. Within two minutes they had mastered the flash lights to find those scary bears and then started blowing into those whistles to scare those fierce bears away. Grandma feels very safe camping with these big brave boys. I will be back soon to update I am honored to be the reporter for the boys this week.
