Stories 2 May - Today was a bit confusing for us! Working on nap scheduling and mealtimes. I think the boys' faired far better than their mom! I'm sooo confused! We got out and went shopping and ran some errands. Man it is SOOOO nice to get out. The boys' were fantastic. They played outside a bit and had some icepops. They love them and I think they help with the molars and that uncomfort. Check out the new pictures today. I vacuumed after their snack and this time I left the vacuum out for them to get closer to and inspect at their own pace. (Gabriel's ...WAS...still hesitant) The picture story clearly shows they overcame that phobia. Yea! They were so cute, all Gabe wanted to do was push and/or pull it! Brett wanted to figure out how it operated! Too funny. love to all, Autumn 1 May - Gabriel's upper molars have broken through skin. As of now both boys' are showing 10 of their 20 toddler teeth! They're halfway there. It's really amazing. Other news. NO MORE BOTTLES! We've successfully transitioned and that last nightime bottle is gone. There was no muss...no fuss...they are so easy to work with! love to all, Autumn 30 April - Happy "13" months!! Last evening after our Friday night "pizza party" the boys went outside to play and had their first real popsicles. The fruitsicle variety, anyway, at first we thought they may not get the hang of eating them....oh no!! They caught on real fast and LOVED THEM! Thankfully we were outside because there was quite the mess...so worth it! They are both napping now and there is a much needed thunderstorm going on outside so today looks like an indoor play day! love to all,
29 April - Updates on the boys'. Let's see Gabe's molars are right at the skin and bulging, he has a rougher time with teething than Brett. They LOVE to play with each other these days. They chase each other around the house. Brett's newest past time is doing circles. He loves to turn around and around one way and then go the other way. He eventually gets dizzy and sits, but then gets right back up for more! They both are BIG dancers! They sway, bounce, move their arms and smile and laugh! It's great fun for us... They are also walking really, really fast. They are very chatty with each other but I can't seem to translate the "twinspeak" yet. I have a feeling my language training is NOT going to help me with this!!! love to all, Autumn P.S. HAPPY "90th" BIRTHDAY MAMIE! The boys great-great grandmother celebrated her 90th birthday on 27 April!!!!!
27 April - I decided to give the boys a haircut myself. I've trimmed it before but never took off any length. They were really good and very patient, could've been the icepop bribes!!! Anyway, I think they are happy with their new hairstyles. I know Brett is glad to get some of that hair off of hist face and neck! love to all, 25 April - MORE NEWS....Brett has welcomed his first upper molars. I was checking...they've both been gnawing on everything and TA-DA teeth were already breaking skin, I mean really showing! This may explain a bit of his sleeptime restlessness. I'll be checking more thoroughly after bathtime when we brush again. Man these little guys are amazing!! This mornings walk through the neighborohood was a bit hurried as we got caught in some light rain! Too funny...they loved it! love to all, Autumn 25 April - WOW! Back from the boys' first trip to the beach. They LOVED it!!! So many cute updates...they loved walking all over the beach. Man are they fast!!! Brett likes eating sand! Gabriel likes touching his feet in the water. They both love their new swimming pool racer boats. They loved the outdoor jacuzzi but didn't like the one in the condo for bathtime. They both loved eating seafood (of course there were french fries involved!) They liked Key Lime pie and snacktime by the pool! Rob and I agreed that it was a fun, "busy" relaxing weekend getaway. So different from the adventures he and I had as a couple. Those moonlit walks on the beach became family drives in the car along the beach or pulling the boys in their wagon...when they'd let us. They really love walking, don't seem to want to hold anybody's hand EVER! So very independent already. The trip was a great time for us all and the boys' were absolutely wonderful! No problems with sleeping, napping or mealtimes. They even did great on the ride there and back...it helped that it was only a 2-hour drive doorstep to doorstep. The boys' next big trip is coming in late June when we all fly to Phoenix to visit Dad's family for a week. Looking forward to that trip also. Happy Anniversary Memere and PopPop!! love to all, 20 April - Today's theme is without DOUBT....CLIMBING! Oh my, these guys were all over! I definetely was working on the next stage of child proofing. They climb up on all couches, loveseats, ottomans and often do them in a row if looks possible! BUT...on the bright side they have moved on past the face dives off of the couches and now sit and slide off like true gentlemen! I'm happy and Dad's relieved. Poor Rob he'd come home from work (not having seen the build up of activity all day) so it is a bit frightening to watch the daredevils in action! They are very chatty these days and Brett is really developing some social skills....he's waving and grinning and more often than not he's flirting! Gabriel is definetely the frontrunner of adventure...he IS fearless! Another wonderful day with my sweethearts and closer to the beach getaway! YIPEEEE. Auntie Sharon and Courtney had a great time with the boys last night. Their recap of the evening had me laughing alot! We are all blessed to have such wonderful friends in our lives! love to all, 19 April - Busy day. We took a drive to deliver a meal to a lady in the Mother's of Multiples Club who just had twins herself. Afterwards we went shopping and the boys' were fantastic. They are really easy to deal with, I find if I plan ahead and "roll with their moods" life is SOOOOO easy. Anyway, after 2 hours of shopping they're now in the den climbing on the couches and playing their new game...it's as of yet unnamed...but they LAUGH and LAUGH...Gabe is up on the couch and Brett runs around it and they both just laugh so much. I love the sound of their laughter...it's truly musical. So tonight Rob and I have an appointment with a financial advisor and our great friends and the boys' Auntie Sharon and her daughter Courtney are coming over to watch Brett & Gabriel. They're such Godsend's! Hopefully they have fun with the boys'....I'm SURE they will, they always learn a new trick with Auntie Sharon around (meant as a TOTAL compliment!!!) love to all,
18 April - Brett and Gabriel had snacktime "al fresco" but indoors. Mom fixed up a "Cafe Lombardi" just for them! love to all, Autumn 17 April - Gabriel was feeling better today. His fever was gone. Both boys' appear to be doing some more teething. Gabriel is fussy during the day with his eye teeth and Brett gets restless at night. Poor little fellas. But Dad planned a great surprise this weekend for them. We're taking them to the Gulf for the weekend! They'll get to play in the surf and sand! Whohoo!! We've rented a condo on the beach and it'll be a much needed break for us all. My mom sent a beautiful "magnolia" arrangement for the front door of the house..it's gorgeous! Love to all, 15 April - Update to the immunizations yesterday. Gabriel is having some side effects, but Brett seems A-OK. Gabe is running a mild-medium fever and the site of 2 of the 3 shots is red and hard. Poor little/big boy. Supposedly he should be better within 48-72 hours. Tylenol for his fever and any achiness seems to help somewhat. He's still got a really good appetite and both of the boys have been chattering away ALL day. It's soo cute. Hopefully, he'll be much better in the morning. They both had some pretty nasty spills today while playing around the house. Gabriel tripped and hit his head on the floor pretty hard. Then not 15 minutes later, Brett was climbing on his "Kangaroo Climber" and he got too high and reached off and then he lost his balance and fell off the playarea. He's fine but I 've been a bit nervous about both of them all day. Snowma's visit has been wonderful and we'll sure miss her when she heads home tommorrow. Love to all, Autumn 14 Apr - Doctor's visit day...and immunizations. The boys' had to get 3 shots today and then they'll go back next week for their chickenpox vaccination. They did really well and only cried when necessary! Their doctor was beyond pleased with them both! Let's see their new stats... Brett: 24 pounds and 3 ounces in weight & 29.5 inches in height Gabe: 25 pounds and 15 ounces in weight & 31.5 inches in height
I just wanted to update everyone with their new stats. Their doctor says they both are way up there! I'm off to get their dinner ready and their both outside playing in the backyard with Snowma and Dad. Love to all, Autumn
13 Apr - The boys had another wonderful, adventurous day. Snowma and I took them for their "morning ride" around the neighborhood in their wagon. After naps, Snowma and Dad took them to the Zoo...while Mom (me) went off to court for a speeding ticket! Ugh... So while I was in Municipal Court they had a good time playing at the zoo. I understand the aquarium part was a BIG hit! These guys had a busy day and are now relaxing with Dad in the recliner before bedtime...Pictures have been updated. I'm working on video clips....love to all, 12 Apr - Snowma ...aka... June arrived safe and sound today. After a lunch of curious looking from the boys by afternoon they had warmed right up to her and were having a blast. Today was the first time they went out in the yard on their own, unprompted! It was sooo cute to see them checking EVERYTHING out. The fence, the trees, the grass, the weeds...there was nothing these guys didn't look into today. We had a pizza party for dinner and they loved that! I've entered some photos of the boys' in some different national contests, more to follow as I hear back on the submissions. Well signing off, goin' to catch some zzzz's myself. Love to all,
11 Apr - Been tinkering with the website again. I found a great place with free clipart (just be nice and give proper credit whenever using her things) at
hugs and kisses to all, 10 Apr - The boys' hung out while mom and dad finished "part one" of landscaping the front yard.
They are so good, I keep reminding myself how very lucky I am. 30 Mar - Well, it's official the boys' are ONE YEAR OLDS. They are true toddlers. Their birthday was marvelous, thank you to all of the family and friends who helped make it so. They had a celebration on Wednesday, 30 March, their actual birthday. Then they had a great birthday party on Saturday, 2 April. We had so many friends and family present to celebrate the milestone event. I am so grateful for all of the love everyone has and shows for these darling boys'. God bless and keep you all, 28 Mar - Another first, Grandma and I took the boys to McDonald's. They had their first Happy Meals (with a Nemo) toy of course! Once the lunch was finished they literally wore themselves out in the play land! They were EVERYWHERE!! They were smiling from ear to ear the ENTIRE time. It was wonderful.
