3 Jul - Ashlee had her 1-month check up today, Mom took her solo because the "guys" Rob (Daddy), Brett & Gabriel took a "Road Trip" to Texas!  First, Ashlee's appointment went well enough until the doctor said "We need to give her 4 shots"....Mom just started crying and said NO!  The traumatic experience when the boys' each got 4 shots for school was just too fresh in her mind.  So instead of 4 she only got 3...(only?!?! I'm still upset about how freakin' many shots they try to give at once!) However, she's a strong girl and she moved her leg while the doc was trying to make the stick so she ended up getting stuck a total of FOUR times anyway!   Ugh......but she was all better after naptime later in the day...Mom is still bent about it...can you tell?   As for stats...she has a 90% head circumference (like her Momma) she is in the 75th for height at 29" and she is in the 50th % for weight at 22 3/4 lbs.  There could be bit of discrepancy because they took her height and weight while standing.  Mom thins she weighs more than that....LOL  While they guys were away she ended up taking numerous walking steps solo.  The farthest to date was an 8-step combo...what a beauty it was!  She walked from the pool deck door to where Mom was sitting ALL BY HERSELF.  She stood, stepped twice, paused, two more, pause, two more and one more pause for her two steps. Whohoo!!!

Hang on gotta get breakfast going and I'll be back for the boys' Texas story....

1 July - Oh boy....how easy it is to fall waaaay behind on the story updates.  All of the new pics "are worth a thousand words" but I know, I know words are still nice!  Rob got back safely from his deployment on Mother's Day weekend (May 9).  How very wonderful it was/is to have him home!! Mom's 20 year high scool reunion was in early June so we all made a road trip to Granma Jesse's  & Pawpaw's house.  The little ones even got to see their cousins and meet baby Rebekah!  So glad we now have a pic of Granma and all of her grandchildren.  o sooner did we get home and relax and it was party time!  Miss Ashlee turned ONE on 25 June and celebrated all day long!  The zoo, a small party, and pizza time.  As you can see we got lots of pics of this momentous occasion.

The boys' recently had their first real playdate without Mom, they went over to a neghbor's house for the afternoon....suffice to say they had a BLAST.  So a few days later we had a barbeque and they had their friend, Rolo, back over for a sleepover.  He's 6 and loves playing with the boys', they are really good together (just need occasional reminders about not playing too rough).  Tomorrow the boys, to include Dadyy, are headed for a road trip to Texas!  They are going to Uncle Thad's retirement ceremony, to catch up with friends we haven't seen since the move and to check in on our house.  Everyone is excited...Miss Ashlee and Mom are gonna stay behind and have some girl-time.   If you read between those lines for now it means catch up on SLEEP!  LOL

Well, everybody is up and at 'um so gotta get some breakfast going....update more....better....sooner....etc!   Hugs to all!

April 17 - Wow it's been a jam-packed couple of weeks. We've had Granma Jesse & Pawpaw visit and then Granma June came to visit too! It's been a real blessing having some help and some family here for the kiddos. Well the boys' really enjoyed it...Miss Ashlee is seriously attached to her Mommy right now. But Daddy will be home soon...less than a month!
Everybody is growing and learning everyday...especially Mommy...we all keep her on her toes! Speaking of toes...Miss Ashlee got her first pedicure from Mom...a nice shade of pale pink...it is just the cutest thing seeing those piggy toes looking like candy! The boys' noticed right away and said how cute their "Princess Ashlee" looked.
We've been doing some new crafts...working more with our scissors and we've added some glue work to our projects. The boys' are doing famously! And sooo smart...I told them the glue needed to dry and Gabriel went and got a bubble blower that has a fan...he activaed the fan and said "Here this will help it dry faster!" Can you believe?
The weather is up and down temp-wise between upper-60s and lower-80s so the boys' are already doing the pool...however, they run themselves a nice big hot bath so that when they finish one round they jump in the nice bath to warm up...head back out to the pool....go back to their bath...this goes on about 4 or 5 times a day! A really good workout for them....they play very well together too.
Miss Ashlee now has a mouthful of teeth...4 upper....4 lower. And now she is cutting some on the bottom again...my goodness all those teeth really change her appearance. She's got a bit of gap between her top middle teeth so it makes me think of Lauren Hutton a bit.

2 Apr - Headed to our Doctor's appointment this afternoon....everyone is getting check-up's. The boys' get their annual and Miss Ashlee has her 9-month. Check back for our newest stats!!
Okay we had our appointments and UGH!!!! OUCH!!!
Let's start with Ashlee her visit was the least traumatic. Her height was 29" (90th percentile) and her weight was 19 lbs. and 13 ounces (75th percentile). She's doing great and had to get a finger prick to check her iron levels....all is well.
The boys' had a far more intense check-up than any of us were prepared for...it was their 4 year-old getting ready for school visit. So they had height, weight, vision, blood pressure, urine sample, physical and then to top it all off....each of my sons' had to endure FOUR shots!! Two in each of their little arms and then a finger prick to complete the whole drama. Suffice to say by the time Brett got his shots the whole room was a musical called, "Screaming and Crying".
Oh I also failed to mention as soon as the pediatrician came in to the room (after an hour wait in a room where the a.c. had gone out...H.O.T) Brett was crossing the room and took a header into the side of a chair...he busted his bottom lip, got a swollen/bruised upper lip and bruise and a knot on his cheekbone. This was ALL before he had to go through shots!! Considering everything they went through they bounced back great and are well today...grateful for that.
The boys' height and weight are as follow: Brett weighs 41 lbs 12 oz and is 40 & 3/4 " tall. Gabriel weighs 43 lbs. and 4 oz and is 42 & 1/4" tall. Brett is 75th percentile for weight and both boys are 90th percentile for all else.
After the 3 hour doctor visit we headed to McDonald's to make it all better...followed that up with a trip for a new toy and made our way to the park for a bit of playtime. Like I mentioned earlier they bounced back very well and seem great today. Just don't mention the word "D-O-C-T-O-R" to either of them for awhile! Or to Mom for that matter! We're busy building lego sets so gotta run for now.

1 Apr - Can't do it....Mom was going to do a nice APril Fool's Story for Daddy to read online but she doesn't have the heart to be so mean. Daddy is a very lucky man! In fact noone played any jokes on anyone around here...just had a nice relaxing day poolside. Check out the new pics.

30 March - It's the boys' 4th birthday and we'll be celebrating all day....so check back to see all of the fun. Mom will write up a story and put some new pics on here once our very special day concludes!
...It's late and the birthday boys' finally conked out....what a fun day we had. They were such great birthday boys. First for the bad news....the camera battery went down and in an effort to keep the festivities on film Mom put in some batteries to last until we got home. Weeellll we have NO idea what happened but when she went to download the pics before we headed out to dinner there were none! Mom was heartbroken....she has her memories but the pics are lost in electro land! She did get a couple of pics at the restaraunt but all of the balloons and hats....cheesy smiles, etc...from the 4th birthday have vanished...Sooo bummed. Anyway, she'll try to describe the festivities!
Brett woke up first and went to look for the Christmas Tree!! When Mom explained it was an all day birthday not Christmas he looked like he didn't believe her! It was cute. Then Gabe awoke and we dove right in to opening presents and we talked with Granma June & Papa Jack on the video cam. Then Granma Jesse & Pawpaw called to wish the boys' Happy Birthday. They got to talk to Daddy for a bit on the phone...he was having a rough time not being with his big boys' for their very special day.
After gifts and sweets we headed out for a Birthday Adventure. They made some new friends at Mcdonald's for lunch, it was cute to see Brett directing all of the play. All of these girls, ranging from 3 - 6 were following him...Gabriel even let Brett take the activities director role.
After they played and played...they did manage to eat a little bit...we headed to "The Big Toy Store" a.k.a. Toys-r-Us for some picking out of birthday gifts. They scored some great loot and even wore their birthday crowns in the store (Mom got some pics but let's not revisit that).
OKay so pics were found...thanks to Daddy's advice. Birthday dinner at Ruby Tuesday's was great. The boys' are/were very well-behaved. Mom was proud to be able to go out with all of the kids and have a nice dinner.

26 Mar - Yesterday we had to do some specific shopping for Daddy's care package so we needed to go to the "Big City", we had to cross the "Big Bridge" and "Drive a long way". The boys' just talk and talk to each other while Mommy drives. Some of their little conversations are just hilarious. Mommy finds her self turning off the radio so she can just listen to their banter.

25 Mar - Happy "9 Months" to Ashlee. Goodness she is getting so big and she loves to check out everything on her own. But she still LOVES to be held as much as possible. She is such a delightful little girl, so full of personality and she's very verbal these days.

23 Mar - What a packed Easter weekend we had. Went to the movies to see "Horton Hears a Who"...the boys' loved it and everyone was on their best behavior. Lots of fun. Then off to the park for some bubble blowing and some follow the leader.
The boys' washed Daddy's car again...they love doing that. Then we commenced with bucketfuls of water balloons. The boys' hated waiting for Mommy to fill them all up but they so enjoyed the throwing them part!
We did some pool maintenance and the boys went for a swim...they raced and raced up and down the length of the pool. We stayed outdoors as long as possible in the beautiful sunshine. Ashlee liked sitting by the pool in her high chair munching on snacks watching the big brothers do their thing. We sure did miss Daddy, but if he can't be here we tried to make the most of what we could without him.

22 Mar - More bumps and bruises, ketchup packets taped to the foreheads. It started with Ashlee getting a bump on her head...Mom taped a chilled ketchup packet to decrease the swelling. The a few days later Brett & Gabe were chasing each other and Brett fell and it his head...big bump on the forhead...he got a ketchup packet taped to his forehead. And then yesterday Gabriel joined their club. Whilst at the park he and Brett were playing ever so well together and then they both are running to me Brett is crying and Gabe is holding his head....Gabe bumped his forehead on Brett's noggin. Brett had nothing but a scare and a whack...Gabriel didn't fare so well. He had a HUGE goose egg on his forhehead and fortunately another Mom there had ice in her car so we could get some on there asap. But when we got home, you guessed it...Gabe joined the ketchup packet club!

20 Mar - Spring is here and everything is blooming! We welcomed spring (thankfully it was sunny) with a day outdoors. The boys drove their car in the yard and climbed trees, then they decided to jump on th trampoline. Brett wanted to take off his shorts and Gabe wanted to take off his shirt. Mom said okay, the next thing she knew she looked and there was two naked boys jumping on the trampoline!!! We agreed to put our underwear back on and play for a bit....we even washed Daddy's car again. Great time outdoors followed with a trip to the park. Later at bathtime when they disrobed Mom noticed Brett had gotten a nice tan, so she thought ohhh let's check blondie.....sure enough Gabriel had a nice pink back. Put some aloe on it and he's good as new, but we discussed the need to always remind Mom to put on sunblock. She needs help remembering things like that these days.

17 Mar - Happy St. Patty's Day! As Mom types this she sneezes and Brett says, "Bless you my lady!" Ohhhhh so sweet
Yesterday was quite a beautiful day here so we spent the majority outdoors. Started off in the front yard and worked our way around to the back to do some spring maintenance on the pool. The boys helped and then decided to check it out for themselves. They had a blast and 15 minutes later they were laughing because when they got out they couldn't stop shaking....of course they finally did, but to a "nearly" 4 year old there is a possibility that they could get "stuck like that!"

16 Mar - Here's a direct quote Mom just overheard minutes ago....Brett says "Hey Gabe you wanna play with me?"...No response....Brett says, "Come on Gabe it'll be fun!"
Mom rearranged Ashlee's nursery (sleep patterns necessitated the change). Anyway, Gabriel walks in and says, "Wow, Mom did you do all of this? I LOVE it!" Then Brett follows in and says, "Oh my GOSH...look at this mess...did you do it mom?...I am very angry about this." So different these two boys are.

14 Mar - Oh my intwo weeks these boys will be 4-year-olds!  Hard to believe sometimes and then other times they seem so much older than their years.  They are such good boys and Mom realizes how blessed she is.

Speaking of blessings, Miss Ashlee has slept in her own room now for 2 nights!  Mom has only had to go in a few times to nurse her and then Ashlee goes right back to sleep.  AND mom gets to go and sleep in her own bed.....it is truly amazing what a bit of real rest can do for a tired MOM.

It's a rainy day here so we'll be painting and crafting with play-doh....etc.   as Gabe says "we got lots of work to do!"

11 March - Auntie Sharon & Courtney came for a visit!!!  We all had such a great time.  The boys remembered them and wasted no time showing their advanced verbal skills (LOL) Ashlee is still going through stranger & separation anxiety....so she wasn't up for a whole lot of cuddles from anyone but Mom.  She let Courtney hold her hands so she could walk around and show off her steps.

It was great catching up with such good friends.  Courtney is now a college girl and loves school and everything about it....and Sharon is changing jobs and doing a total self-makeover...34 pounds lost.  Mom was so happy for her...she looks great!

7 March - Happy Anniversary to Mommy & Daddy!!!   Don't worry Daddy we were all extra nice to Mommy today since you were so far away!

6 Mar - Happy Birthday to Melanie & Jaqueline!!!

3 March - Happy Birthday Uncle Val!!!

20 Feb - Some cute anecdotes from the household...
BRETT - Recently saw a commercial for toothpaste....needed to inspect Mommy's mouth...upon inspection declared that "Mom, you have bacteria and need that to make it all better" On another oral note he wanted to know what Mom's fillings were so I explained they were "cavities" and he replied "oh you have cowboy teeth?"
GABRIEL - Upon losing/misplacing one of his favorite cars he said "Mom we got to find it...it's a mystery and we need to look for clues!" He's also such a thoughtful child, Mom announced once that her back was hurting and Gabe said, "I know what you need, a heating pad...hold on I'll get it for you Mom!"
ASHLEE - She was playing in the floor with one of the boys whiffle balls...so I gave her another one and she had one in each hand and was clapping and then I gave her a third one to see what would happen...she used her hands with the balls to scoop the third one to her mouth! Go girl, way to think that problem through!

19 Feb - As you can see yesterday we had some camera fun in the morning. Mom dressed Ashlee up and we (Mom & Gabriel) took a bunch of pics. Enjoy!
Later we went to the park where the boys' had a blast with some new friends playing Spiderman...they got loads of exercise! Couple that with some slow pitch-ball with Mom in the front yard while Ashlee napped and they got some good workouts in yesterday. Oh let's not forget trampoline time and climbing the tree!
At the park Ashlee got to sit down in the sand and you'd have thought she transformed into a bulldozer! She loved sccoping and raking the sand...Mom only had to tell her three times not to put it in her mouth, "It's not finger food" to be exact.
Then it was go grab Icee's and home to watch some America's Funniest Home Videos...the boys' are really into those clips now. It's so fun to all be sitting around laughing hysterically!
