7 Dec - Granma June is flying down today. Yipee!! Her flight is a bit delayed but the boys' are super excited to see her when they wake from their afternoon naps. Boy did they need those naps! Mom and the boys' ventured out for some power shopping and good times at the mall. The boys' had a blast, not interested in photos with Santa, but they LOVED riding in the train...all by themselves! They said they were on "Thomas the Train" in the land of Sodor! After that we found the regular electronic rides and they had a blast. Mom was craving Chik-Fil-A so we headed to the food court and chowed down! The boys' did some walking on their own and stayed right near Mom, she was VERY happy about that. We're taking Granma out for dinner tonight and the boys' really like eating at restaraunts these days. They are doing very well with that also. Well just a quick update, Mom needs a nap too!!!

Week Ten

Baby is now called a fetus in "medical terms". You, however, may have chosen the name "peanut," "angel," "jumping bean" or simply "miracle." The most critical part of your infant's development is complete. Now you are headed into a period of rapid growth.

While a bit strange to envision, your baby's head is now about half its length - Soon the rest of the body's growth will catch up but this area is prepared to keep up with the rapid brain development! Eyelids fuse shut and irises begin to develop - Eye color is also determined by this point.

Placenta begins to function this week or next - The placenta is the organ responsible for both the provision of nutrients along with the removal of waste to keep your baby growing strong!

Your baby will be about 1.22 inch long (3.1cm) and weigh 0.14 ounce (4gm) at the end of this week

Our little Lombardi...it's one peanut (we just had two pics from the sonogram) So the news is we are all resting a bit easier knowing that we are having one baby this time. We would have been just as blessed but Mom is excited that she gets to see what pregnancy with just one baby is like this time around!! Stay tuned for more updates we'll be finding out the sex at week 18....just 9 weeks away! The doctor says we are sticking with the original due date of July 4th.

5 Daze with Daddy - Part II

Day Four (25 Nov)  DADDY REPORTING:  Well today started funny, and never really stopped...  I woke-up to chatter from a couple of boys in the living room talking.  They were sitting on the couch and recliner, saying "Daddy's sleeping...  we want a show...  need milk"  stuff like that!  Not sure what they might've gotten into had I not woken-up...  Though, I've got to admit, it was cute!

The Potty thing went well today, the boys only had one poopie accident all day, and that was early this morning!  They're doing sooo awesome, Autumn will be so pleased!

Today, I took them to the park and a secluded beach about two miles west of the normal spot.  They had a blast, and when it was time to go, Brett through a fit.  He's usually the one that wants to leave, but it looks like he found a place he enjoyed;  probably cuz it had less things going on around us...

All in all it's been a great day, actually I stand corrected, it's been a fun four days.  Autumn gets back tomorrow, and I know we're all looking forward to it!  Besides, I'm in need of returning to work to be a guy again...  Basically, the house is clean, things are organized, and I'm drinking wine...  Lord help me!  Miss you Baby Girl!

From the boys - We Love you Momma...  See you tomorrow....  Night-Nite!

5 Daze with Daddy - Part II

Day Three (24 Nov)  Today we spent the morning working on the Potty thing.  It's pretty tough business (pardon the pun)...  We also played outside with our "Big Boy" pants on.  Daddy raked the leaves and we drove thru and jumped in them...

Afterwards we went to "Who-Na-Nas" (McDonald's).  Daddy found a couple new things out about his boys.  Brett likes to chew his food and instead of swallowing, he collects a full mouth and spits it out!  And Gabe (well this isn't new) he likes to run recklessly throughout the play area sooo fast...  well today he knocked himself in the head.  OUCH!  He handles banging into things like a Man though...

After "Who-Na-Nas" we went to the store and picked out our own "Big Boy" pants...  Spiderman, Superman, and Cars...  WOW!  However, after all that stuff, we were completely wore out for nap-time.  Daddy even had to wake us up...

The evening was low-maintenence (except for Wrestle-mania) and more potty training.  I'm not sure what's going on here, but I think Daddy has a plan to get rid of our diapers...  There was talk about a bonfire!

We miss you Mommy, see you on "Football Game" day!  Love You...  Night-Nite!

5 Daze with Daddy - Part II

Day Two (23 Nov)  HAPPY TURKEY DAY!  We celebrated this day with repeated trips to the Bathroom to do our business.  Most times we'd make it, a few times we wouldn't, but everytime we went!  Daddy had his hands full.  We also sang & danced a lot to the Parade on TV.  We especially liked the big balloons and at the end we saw Santa Claus...  he's BIG!

After our naps, Daddy took us to his friends house for a turkey dinner.  We were more interested in playing than eating, but Daddy ensured our plates were clean.  He's our back-up Guy!

We played B-Ball and hung-out with "The Kids".  I (Gabe) especially liked being lifted high up-up in the air to slam dunk the ball!  I (Brett) specifically liked digging and burying cars in the dirt in the front yard.  Even tastes pretty good too.  Imagine that, I won't eat turkey, but dirt seems fine!

Well not sure what's in store for tomorrow, but we're off to bed.  Check in with us same time tomorrow, we'll let you know...

We miss you Mommy, but Daddy's doing good!  He seems tired though, and may need a back-rub when you come home...  Love you - Night-Nite!

5 Daze with Daddy - Part II

Day One (22 Nov) - Mommy is visiting Grandma Jesse to get some much needed R & R.  We can't understand why she would need it, we're "Angels"!  However, Daddy is running things, and man he's kicking Butt!  Today we went to the Emerald Coast's well-known "Gulfarium".  We're not sure what that means, except there were lots of fishes and sea-life!  Pretty cool stuff...  Actually, the trip wore us out, we got home and took a 3 hour nap!  Lucky Daddy, he needed the break, he's not used to us ALL DAY like Mommy is!  :-)

We woke up and started working on that Potty Training thing.  We both did #s one & two, Daddy was so excited he almost went too....  Though, I also think it was because we finally ate most of our dinner.  Hey, what can you say, the man can cook!  Anyway, we are definitely tired, and if today is any indication to what the rest of the weekend brings, well we better get our rest!  We love you Mommy, we miss you!  Hugs to Grandma!!!  Night-Nite!

21 Nov - We are talking up a storm!  Gabriel likes to answer the phone and thinks everyone is either Granma or Pawpaw depending on the male/female voice!  It's funny!  They are talking in complete sentences and telling us ALL kinds of things!

The weather is supposed to really warm back up tomorrow and stay up for the whole weekend!!  Yea...that means park time with Daddy and lots of outdoor play.  We both plan on really doing some potty-training with Dad while Mom's gone.  Brett has become quite the pro at picking up his toys.  The boys got some new toy bins that make it easier to see their toys AND put them away.  Lots of coloring and HUGE block towers and houses being built by these architects!

20 Nov - Mom finally got her next appointment, her first with an ob/gyn...it's 29 Nov.  Thank goodness!  She got really upset when the first doctor she was referred to couldn't see her until 19 January!!  But she was in a much better mood when she found a different doctor who can see her sooner!!  And he even got his undergrad degree from Vanderbilt...go commodores!  So she is comfortable that he's a smart guy!!  LOL

18 Nov - Daddy made it safely home after being gone for a week.  We survived Mom and she made it too!  Boy was everybody happy to see Daddy walk through the door!!  We have a few days of togetherness before Mom heads off for a solo visit to Granma Jesse's!  She probably does need a little R&R.  We are looking forward to having Daddy home all to ourselves!!  We know it'll be fun having just the guys for a few days (we'll Sophie will be with us but she likes to wrestle with us so she's cool!)

15 Nov - Today we went to, as Gabriel said, "Play with some kids". Actually we went to interview a lady about part-time preschool for the boys. Mom is going to do some volunteer work a couple half days a week and then take a half day just for herself. It should be great. Miss Kim has a 3 year old daughter and there is also one other 3 year old girl there too for now. There names are Kaylie and Emma and they seem to like us just as much as we liked them!! We played for awhile and Mommy and Miss Kim talked. It was raining so we didn't get to go play outside, but MAN was there some things for us!!

Miss Kim has a very structured program with meals and activities and little bit of free time. It should be great!!

Mom's really excited because we're going in the first half of the day so she'll be dropping us off at 7:30, we'll have breakfast and lunch and then Mom will come pick us up at 11:30 before the girls take a nap and then we can drive home (about 30 minutes)<> and tell Mom all about our day before we take our naps when we get home! So she'll still get to nap with us! Whoohoo it's win-win!!

today was a yucky stormy day but we made the most of it. Started out a bit rough, Mom was super-tired because Brett was up about every 2 hours. Why?? who knows?! Anyway she got a nap and we all are feeling much better.

13 Nov - Day one of "A Week Without Daddy". Well, we made it through, the boys' are getting ready for bed and I'm having a cup of tea. We had a great day, minor glitch with naptime. The boys' just didn't want to do it...so I laid in their room and we ALL fell asleep! When we woke up it was dark outside!! At one point during their two hours of "not gonna nap" I went back in to tell them to go to sleep and when I opened their door I heard happy voices saying "We're naked!!" Well yes they were, sitting in their beds naked as the day they were BORN! Funny now, NOT so funny at the time.

I got to finish up the curtains and pillowcases for the boys' "Patriot" themed bedroom. It's awesome! I even got a bit creative and made tie-backs to look like footballs!

Tomorrow we're planning on running a few errands and going to the park. We're also gonna bake cookines and clean out the playroom. Time to reduce toys in preparation for Christmas time! Well off to bed for us here. More tomorrow.

8 Nov - Lots of cute little stories to update. Both boys' love their newly decorated Patriots football bedroom, complete with a gorgeous NFL blanket...thanks Granma June!! Mom is still working on curtains but it's a great room. They love to throw and catch a football these days. The throwing is awesome the catching...it's a work in progress! Gabriel has a new catch phrase...whenever he's bothered...like if I'm getting him to do something he doesn't really want to do...he'll say "Mom you go to the kitchen!" I have to laugh at that, I mean does this child not know Julia Child-I am NOT! It's funny. Brett is coming into his hugs and kisses phase, thankfully. Man he was a tough nut to crack on that. Gabriel was snuggly and cuddly from day one, but Brett wanted his space. Now he's alot more affectionate. YUMMY!

We got them "Cars" and they really like that movie. In fact at 6:30 A.M. they were standing at Mom's bed asking for the race car movie! Their next favorite movie is Mickey Mouse's "Twice Upon a Christmas". It's a really cute movie and it's sooooo sweet to hear the boys' saying "Merry Christmas!" There is one part in the film where Pluto knocks over the Christmas tree and Mickey gets mad at him. Brett doesn't like it when Pluto gets in trouble and he hides until that part is over. I always know exactly where they are in the movie based on Brett's cues...laughter...talking...hiding. He is veryy invloved in whatever he's watching, just like Mom when she was little.

Mom's feeling better these days, still a bit tired and nauseous throughout the day. But she's been able to get out and about with us and it has been fun...fun...fun! Well today we're off for lunch and some playtime at the beach!! Whohoooo

Back from the beach...had a great time...weather was gorgeous! Off to nap....all of us!

4 Nov - Your eyes aren't playing tricks. On behalf of all of us...the boys' are happy to announce they are going to be BIG BROTHERS! Mom and Dad just found out this week and when they told us boys...well we just LOVE babies but we haven't really grasped the whole concept yet. We've got some time for that...the estimated date of arrival is 4 July 2007. Of course that's pretty tentative. We're all real excited around here as can be expected (no pun intended!) More updates to come we promise...but cut Mom some slack she's been a bit tired lately...for good reason!

18 Oct <> - Potty training is still going well. Yesterday we took a break from it and went "exploring". We were searching for items needed to complete our "family" Halloween costumes. Should be fun this year too!
Mom's always coming up with "how to" ideas and she's going to start jotting them down here so that at a later time she can compile them all...who knows maybe she'll have enough for a book!
***TIPS*** Trying to hang a pesky shelf with those brackets on the backside? What a pain measuring and trying to get everything to fit...here goes...works like a charm: cut a crayon down stick a section in the bracket hole where the screw/nail goes put a leveler on top of the shelf and press to the wall. TA-DA perfect marks for hanging that bugger up!!
***TIPS*** Create an art station for toddlers. Take the base of a "lazy susan" screw it onto a square piece of wood. Take plastic containers (coffee size or plastic cups) screw them onto the top of the wood and VOILA it sits on the table spins around for them to get at the crayons, markers and colored pencils!

13 Oct (Friday) - The boys' are watching a movie (rainy day) and Mom forgot that Dad had hooked up surround sound...guess Gabe didn't because he got the remote and the next thing we all hear is movie quality "Zathura"!
And another successful potty day for Mr. Gabriel. He seems to have it down pretty good thus far. Brett, well he has amazing self-control....we know he'll master it when "he" is good and ready.

12 Oct - The boys' are back on track with potty training. We're taking it nice and slow but Gabriel seems "Ready-ready!" Yesterday he went pee in the potty a couple of times and today he went poo! WOW. Brett will pee in the potty... so all in all we are doing FAB!! Mom and Dad are so proud of us!
The boys' are growing like weeds! Big ones'! Both boys are wearing 3/4T clothing and shoes...my goodness...Gabe's a size 10 and Brett's a size 9! Gabe is about 1/2 inch taller than Brett but it seems pretty evenly matched during their wrestling matches.
Well, we're headed out for the day. Gonna go play on the beach (AKA big sandbox)!

10 Oct - Okay so it has been a looong time since Mom updated our stories. But here goes a recap and wish her luck!
As you see from the newest pics we've successfully moved. Daddy found us a GR8 new house in Florida and we all LOVE IT!!
We stayed with Granmda & Pawapaw Dwight for about a month while Daddy was clearing us out in Texas and getting us moved to Florida. In the midst of all that he still found time to drive up to Kentucky to see us for a weekend!! (He really missed us)
Grandma June also flew to Kentucky for a nice weekend visit. It was cool having both Grandma's with us...we had fun-fun-fun!
Daddy had a birthday October 3rd and he and Mom wonder if they'll be able to keep up with us because we are so very active and they are getting older!
Living at the beach is so awesome. We get to alternate things like the parks, there's a zoo nearby, our own pool and of course...the BEACH!! Gabriel loves it, he likes to stand at the edge and jump with the water as it comes rolling in to shore. Gabe also loves the sand...it's like the largest sandbox that boy has EVER seen! Brett, well he likes it but hasn't quite started loving it. He finds plenty to do, he likes exploring so Mom and Brett look for seashells.
Let's see some cute anecdotes about the Lombardi boys'. The boys' like to do "Cheers" with each other now. They'll have a popsicle or a cup of milk (whatever) and they'll say "Cheers" and clink. It is so darn cute!
They love to ride the fire trucks around the house, with mostly tiled floors they can really pick up speed. Sometimes they'll hold hands while they do it and Gabe will let go and Brett will stop and in his most thespian-like demeanor push his arm out and say "HAND!"
The latest movie-addiction is "Herbie Fully-Loaded". Fortunately the newness is starting to wear off, but at least Mom has her own tv so she can actually see the news in the morning....what a difference!
And last but not least, what kind of Lombardi update would it be without some drama? This weekend we were all out in the backyard doing some trimming and mowing and what not when Dad found a bird on the ground that seemed stunned and couldn't seem to fly. So we took it in and put in a ventilated box in the garage until we could contact animal rescue. Monday morning before we could get in contact with animal rescue for that bird we had drama in the backyard. Mom let Sophie out to go potty and when she went to get her Sophie was in the screened in pool area. Mom got her out, all the whilescratching her head to figure it out. The she saw a bird on the ground and feathers everywhere. Then she saw a big hole in the screen. So Dad didn't get to sleep in very long that morning. He got up and he and Mom played detective to figure out what happened. After closer scrutiny they found a hole up high where the bird had dove-bombed into the pool area. Sophie must have seen it and gone to get it. Well, our family-beach day turned into "rescreening that section of the pool screen but Daddy still managed to make it fun! We went with him to Lowe's for the parts and then he took us to the park!! He wore us out 'cause we were napping when he got home and then he and Mom fixed the accidents! Oh, so basically Animal Rescue came for the one bird and Sophie took care of another.

27 Sep -
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY" TIA DREE!!!!!! We love you and miss you and can't wait to see you when you come visit in Florida!!! We love you too Uncle Val!! Big hugs for you both.

17 Sep - these boys are sure keeping me young...they have changed so much since august when they came to new england - they talk and repeat...boy do they...this gramma forgot what it was like to have little ones around - its really been fun...they actually do know who I am...which is hard for me since we are separated by a few states...I can not wait to visit them again - this has been a wonderful time with gramma Jessie and her wonderful family...its off to run somemore - times a wastin' -
