May 25, 2009  I am 6 months old today! I have been so busy having fun that I haven't even had time to tell you all about it.  I started swim lessons and I love it! I am a natural in the water, and I get so excited especially when I go under the water.  I am so close to crawling, but I don't really need to.  I can get anywhere I want by army crawling and bear crawling.  I love to climb over stuff, too.  I am very curious, and I especially love straps on bags and tags.  I love to play with other babies and make faces.  I love it when people make faces at me, too!  My mom is still home with me most days, but when she does go to work I get to spend time with my grandma and tutu and grandpa! I am such a lucky girl to have so many wonderful people in my life!  Later today I will be going out to lunch with mom and dad to celebrate my half-birthday, and I am getting so big that I can sit in a high chair at the restaurant!  I also sit in the front of the grocery cart at the store, mostly Target:)  I sleep 12-13 hours at night, so I always have plenty of energy during the day.  I don't really eat a lot of solid food yet, I'm not sure about spoons.  I think I would rather just feed myself. Thank you for coming to visit my page!!

Howdy Everyone!! Happy Spring!  I have been one busy little girl latley, it takes a lot of energy to grow as big and strong as I am.  I am 3 1/2 months old now and so much is going on!! I can roll over now, in both directions, though I am best at going from my back to my yummy, and then I get stuck.  I sleep without a swaddle now, and that was a tough adjustment, but I like my new pajamas with feet!!  I am super good at sleeping at night, I only wake up once when I get a little hungry, but I hate to take naps.  There is just too much fun stuff to see.  I love to hold toys and stick things in my mouth.  I laugh and giggle all day long, especially when mommy kisses my belly.  My mom has gone back to work a couple of days a week and I get to play with my grandparents when she does.  I didn't think anyone could spoil me more than daddy does, but they do! I am about to start swim lesson in a couple of weeks so that I can be nice and safe this summer.  I can't wait to have so much fun in the nice warm weather!

Hi Everyone! I know it has been a while since I updated you.   We have been so busy, that I just haven't had the time! I am 10 weeks old now, and my mommy can't believe how big I am.  At my 2 month appt with the doctor I weighed 11 lbs 3 oz and was 22 1/2 inched long!! I also got a few shots, and I did great, I hardly cried at all.  Mommy was a different story, so cried the whole way home!  We have been so busy going to story time at the library with all my friends, meeting new friends, and playing with my puppies.  I love to stick out my tongue and blow bubbles, and I smile and laugh at everything.  My favorite thing to do is to "go looking" - basically I make my mommy carry me all over the house so I can look at sruff -over and over again.  I love to sleep at night, but not that much during the day - there is just too much fun going on around me, and I love to be a part of it!!

Happy New Year!  I hope you had a wonderful holiday.  I did!!  I was 1 month old on Christmas!!  We spent the day eating, laughing, and sleeping.  Mom made me a cake to celebrate.  I am getting very good at looking at stuff, and I am extra good at smiling!! Mom and dad like it when I smile.  I have had a lot visitors come to see me, and I am getting out and about a lot as well.  Everyday is just so much fun:)

Wow!! I am two weeks old today and I am growing so much!! Mom doesn't know whether to laugh or cry over how big I am getting.  I saw the doctor this morning and I weighed 7 lbs 13 oz - which is a whole pound more than I weighed just 5 days ago!!! I am such a good eater, and a champion sleeper, which must be why I am growing so fast.  Life is good for all of us here.  Mom and dad are getting enough sleep to feel good, and their wonderful friends and neighbors have been keeping them well fed.  Everyday is a new adventure, laughing, dancing, singing, reading, meeting new people!!  I get a little fussy sometimes and I don't know why, but them mom and dad just cuddle me close and I feel better again.  Mom promises she will post new pictures soon.  Keep coming back to learn more about me, and also go to dad's picture site: www.flickr.com/photos/stevenslive

Hi Everyone! Macy here.  I am taking over the website from mom.  She is just so busy cuddling me and loving me.  So I said "Mom, I got it" and she said "Are you sure?" and I said "Totally!"  I mean, I am a whole week old now!  Well, I just love my life.  I eat, I sleep, I play with my mom, dad and furry friends.  I am also getting pretty excited about something called Christmas that mom keeps talking about.  I love to ride in cars and go for walks.  I especially like to dance to 80's music with my mom.  What can I say? Life is ggod!

Macy is here.  After a 2 day induction Macy made her way in to the world on November 25, 2008 at 7:12pm.  Eric and I cannot be happier with our beautiful little girl.  It was the best day of our lives.  She eats and sleeps like a champ and keeps us smiling all day long.  She can't wait to tell you about all her adventures.  Dad will update his flickr account more often than mom, so check out this site for more photos.   http://www.flickr.com/photos/stevenslive

39 weeks

Macy should be here any day! I wish I could say I was waiting patiently for the little miss to make her first appearance, but I am not! Big surprise - me, being impatient!  We have an induction scheduled for her due date - November 24.  We will go in the night before to check into the hospital and get settled.  I cannot wait to meet her!! Everything is ready to go and the longer I wait the more crazy I get!!  So hopefully, the next thing I post will be her picture:)

36 weeks

Well, it's been a while since I have updated the site! I am now 36, almost 37 weeks and feeling HUGE! It is hard to sleep, tie my shoes, or get up from the couch even!  I went on maternity leave at work just last week.  It was geeting too hard to continue working.  Being a nurse is a very physical job, and I didn't feel as though I could really do my job well with how hard it is to move around.  Also, I was contracting non-stop and my doctor thought it best that I rest.  I am not arguing with that!! Now, I am officially a domestic goddess.  Cooking, cleaning, baking, sewing ... you name it, I have been doing it.  I am definately nesting!  The room is done and ready to go.  Bags are packed and we are putting in the carseat this weekend.  She is measuring 7 lbs already, so I am hoping she comes early.  I do not want a 9 pound baby!!! I'll keep you posted....

30 weeks

This was a very eventful week!!I started my every two week doctors appointments, which is a big step! Macy and I went to Vermont to visit Bridget and JD, and we got stuck there as a little storm called Ike rolled through Houston!  It was nice to have some extra time with some of my favorite people, and Eric survived the storm with the dogs, but it was nice to get home.  I also had a baby shower thrown for me by some amazing friends! It was beautiful and girly and perfect, I loved it!  It is getting harder to sleep, my left hip goes numb and tingly when I sleep, and my right hip gets numb and tingly when I walk.  My two favorite things to do are getting harder to do.  Macy is measuring a little big, and my bump is measuring exactly on size, which is good news.  I was worried she would be small because I am carrying small, but my doctor said she must be growing in to my spine!!  I am still busy getting the room put together, finishing touches, that kind of thing.  Eric loves all the baby stuff, especially the chair in her room and the soft, fuzzy blankets:)

28 Weeks

I had another appointment with a specialist for Macy's kidneys.  Evidently, they are now "normal" sized, and whatever the problem was just went away.  However, the doctor did warn me that it can come back, so we will see her again before Macy arrives.  I feel great, am just very tired.  Being tired is the theme of the pregnancy, so it is getting pretty redundant to keep mentioning it!  We are still working hard on the nursery.  The furniture came in and we put it together and  Eric built some shelves for the closet.  Macy is moving so much, and we can see my belly bounce when she kicks.  Whenever Eric tried to feel her, she stops.  We it "The calming hand of Dad!"  Maybe it will work when she is actually here and getting fussy.  Probaby not:)

24 weeks

Macy is moving like crazy.  Seriously, non-stop!!  My doctor had me reduce my hours at work - I am down to 3 eight hour shifts a week.  I am pretty excited about it. I have more time and energy to get ready for Macy.  We started the nursery, I started this web page, I am exercising more, I have started reading some books, one of them about parents who get too anxious by reading too many books.... I have to be careful, though, I am starting to contract quite often, especially at work, so I try to get off my feet as much as possible.  I feel like I am really starting to show, although everyone tells me I am "carrying small".  Whatever that means - I am too big for regular clothes, but most maternity clothes look ridiculous on me because my "bump" is so small.  Not to mention, all maternity clothes are hideous.  Absolutely awful.  And if you know me well, you know clothes are my a big part of my life.  So, that part of my life is pretty bleak and I am really happy I wear scrubs to work, so that I don't have to try to find too many awful things to put on my body.  Life is great right now and Eric and I are just enjoying this time we have to prepare!!

22 weeks

Macy's first trip to Hawaii!!! How fun! We went to Maui to surprise Eric's mom for his parent's 40th wedding anniversary!! What a week - Macy went so many places and did so many things, she was pooped.  Or maybe that was just me.  She is kicking like crazy at this point, Eric can feel her, although she usually stops as soon as he gets his hand up there.  She got to meet her cousins, Ashley and Austin on a trip to Grandma's, as well as her Aunt Barbara and Uncle Bill.  She can't wait to really meet everyone.  Eric's parents are still deciding what Macy will call them....

20 weeks

I am feeling much better at this point.  All the morning sickness is gone, I have a little bit more energy, but am still tired quite a bit.  I love my job, but the 12 hour days on my feet are already killing me.  I have started to feel her kick a little, although at first I wasn't sure it wasn't just gas:) Eric hasn't felt her kick yet, but soon....  We went to the doctor for her first *real ultrasound.  The other ultrasounds were taken as part of the gender screening.  It has been great to have so many pictures taken!!  At the ultrasound we learn that Macy's kidneys are a little big, so we are sent to a specialist.  We are trying not to worry...

12 weeks

Full on mornin g sickness at this point.  I am so tired.  I can't eat anything but happy meals.  Work is hard.  Whatever.  We decide to do a blood test to find out the sex of the baby.  It was supposed to take about 10 days for the results to be posted on an automated voicemail.  However, I sweet talked the lovely man at the offic to get the reults as fast as possible, and he said he would have them in two days!!!  Yes, victory!!  Well, those two days later Eric and I are both at work and realized... we had no way of finding out together, as he (the office manager) could not email the results to us or post them to voicemail.  Hmmm.... what to do? Eric did not want us to be seperate when we found out.  I didn't care, as long as I didn't have to wait.  Well, the results were put in a letter, which a friend of mine picked up after she left work, brought back to me at the hospital (I didn't get off until 7, the office would be closed, and Eric could not leave work) and I had to drive all the way home with it burning a hole in my pocket, so to speak.  Well, I got home - we ripped open the envelope, eyes searching for something, and at the same time we both started giggling.  A girl!!! On his way home, Eric had stoppped to get both a boy and girl present, so Macy got her first present from daddy that night!!

8 weeks

We went to my first doctor's appointment, and I was very excited to see the baby on ultrasound.  However, my doctor's office had lost my appointment, and couldn't fit me in.  Needless to say, I was just starting to get a little hormonal at this point in the pregnancy.  I started sobbing.  Uncontrollably.  Loudly.  Ridiculously.  At this time, a random doctor was walking out of the office to go to the hospital to deliver a baby, but took pity on me and offered to do a quick ultrasound so I could see the heartbeat.  What a relief!! And there she was - our little nugget!!

Let's start at the beginning.....

We decided to have a baby! Ok, now what? Well, I mean, I know what.... I am a nurse after all.  I thought it would take many months of trying, Macy had other ideas.  At about 3:30am one morning I woke up a took a pregnancy test, our first month of trying.  Why 3:30am? I had to go.... Anyway, I thought I saw two pink lines, but I couldn't be sure, so I woke Eric up.  He said he saw two pink lines as well!!! Yay!!! We went back to sleep, and woke up for work a couple of hours later.  When Eric saw the test, he confirmed the two lines - evidently he didn't really open his eyes the first time - he was too sleepy.
