11-12-08 We have one tough little man on our hands! Tonight we found ourselves checking out the ER with Mason! After dinner he was playing with Daddy in the living room when Mason turned too fast and tripped into the fireplace. Well bricks and a 3 year old forehead don't go well together. He had a pretty good sized gash so after getting the bleeding under control and taking Katherine to the neighbors, we headed to the ER. We didn't wait long until they took us back. The first nurse thought the cut only needed the Dermbond stuff but after the doctor looked at it (and a call from Grandpop to the ER doc) they decided some stitches would be best. We didn't just want a quick fix and possibly a scar (even though you hear chicks like scars!) so stitches it was. I've never had stitches but Matt says the worst part is getting the numbing medicine and the burning at first. They bundled Mason up in a sheet to hold his arms down and laid him on the table. Well he didn't even cry for the medicine part! WOW! That surprised me! He didn't care so much for the stitches b/c someone was holding his head still and he said they were holding it too tight. Three stitches later, Mason was good to go. A few stickers, a band aid, discharge papers and we were out of there. I'm glad he did so well. I'm sure he's going to have one heck of a head ache but some motrin should help out. He'll go on base on Monday to the docs and get the stitches out. Now for the next few days he can tell the ladies about his toughness!

We've been a traveling family the past couple of days too. Sunday afternoon we drove to Woodward to visit family and go to Caroline's 10th birthday party. Mason enjoys all the cousins to play with and we enjoy some time to relax w/out being the entertainers! Monday Matt got out of work around noon and since he had Veteran's Day off we decided to head to Tulsa to visit the other side of the family. We stayed the night and got to visit Aunt Cathy, Aunt Lisa, Grandmom, and Grandpop. Tuesday we hit up the Aquarium with Uncle John and Evan. The boys had a blast, as they always do. They've gotten to the phase where one of them always says they are faster or bigger, etc. As they get older, I'm sure it won't end! Just two little quick trip over three days but it's always nice to visit with family.

11-7-08 I just wanted to add these two videos from today. The other day I discovered Katherine's fearlessness, after many times chasing her down the driveway on the car. She figured how to do this on her own. She's one tough cookie, thanks in part to having a big brother I guess!
What a silly girl!
A few tidbits about the kiddos. Mason has really started to like writing his letters. He loves asking what our names start with and how to write names. We're still working on getting him to writing in a line instead of each letter all over the paper, but he'll get there. So we've found a few dry erase books that have letters to write over and shows how to make each letter, he loves these and keep him busy for hours! He likes drawing picutures too, he's getting good at making faces. Can't believe the little things he is accomplishing.

Katherine has become quiet the entertainer lately. She gets really excited when Daddy gets home from work. If you ask her where Daddy is, she puts her hand out and looks around, like she's questioning that for herself. Yesterday after dinner I was getting my shoes on to run to the store while Matt got them ready for bed. Well she sat down in front of me, and pointed at her own feet and said something that resembled "bye bye." She's also saying a few other words, like duck and ball and buba (which is for Mason). And she likes to give kisses, only on her terms though, when she wants to!

Each day I try to hold onto a little memory of each of them, something they did or said that day. I realize these days are numbered when they are little and still dependent on me! :)

11-3-08 What have we been up to? A few weeks ago Mason's school had a Family Fun Night. We thought it was going to be more of an open house, but it was more of just time for the kids to play with their parents. It was fun though. Katherine enjoyed getting to run around and explore.

We looked and looked for a costume for Mason but he finally settled on being a Super Sleuth Pooh. And it was too easy to just make Katherine be Darby! It was cute and I had to include a pic for those who haven't seen the show. But most of us with little kids knew just who Mason and Katherine were. We went trick or treating at Matt's squadron which was a good warm up for Mason. He got the hang of what to do so he would be a pro when we got back to the neighborhood. Boy, did Mason make out! He filled his bag this year. There's no way we're going to let him go thru all that candy but he was pretty proud looking at all his goodies!

We're just about done weaning Katherine. She's only nursing before she goes to bed at night. I know she's not getting much so we'll probably drop that one this coming weekend. She's starting to drink more whole milk so that makes us happy. It just has to be warm.

That's about it for now. The time change has thrown the kids off so we're hoping to adjust to that soon. Living in AZ for the past 3 years, we never changed time. Something to get use to again. Yesterday felt like a really long day and Katherine was ready for bed at 6! Which meant she would be up early. But Mason beat her on that one, getting up at 530 this morning!

10-13-08 We had a fun trip to Dallas. Of course the game could have turned out in Daddy's favor and the trip would have been fantastic! But we still had fun and the kids were great for the trip. We left Thursday, got our share of big city traffic and arrived at our friends around dinner. Friday we spent the day at the state fair. It was lots of fun and just about anything you can think, they had it...fried! Fried snickers, fried snowcones, fried oreos, can't say we tried any of that though! Good times all around. Saturday the guys went to the game while the girls went to a pumpkin patch at a local church then hit up the mall. Boy we have really taken for granted living in small town now...boy the Dallas traffic was crazy! Too bad the OU boys didn't pull off a win though! We decided to drive a little that evening. We finished our drive Sunday and stopped off in OKC and did a little funiture shopping! :) As fun as trips are, it's always nice to be back home and in our beds and kids have their toys!

Mason's still doing great with school. Last week when I picked him up, all the kids were wearing these paper plate patriotic hats. On the way home he told me they were learning the Pledge of Allegiance. Well at lunch, I started saying it with him and he stopped me and said, "you have to put your hand on your heart!" I also learned I have to watch my wording on things! After paying for parking at the Texas state fair, I told Matt they sure are making a killing just on parking. Well Mason says, "they're not killing anything!" Oh, the simplicity of their little minds! He's also interested in learning how to write letters. He can do quite a few when you show him how to do them first.  Today at school he made a picture with the letters M and H on them. He told me, one for his name and one for mine. How sweet! And they did letter stamps and he picked the letter H, for my name he said. I can't get over how quickly he is growing and learning.

10-3-08 Just have a few things to write about. Katherine had her 12 month well baby last Friday, she is right at 20 lbs and is 29 3/4 in. And she got four shots. She was not so happy with that guy! That night we had a Mommy and Daddy night out. Our neighbor and her mom came over and watched the kids for us. We had a nice dinner out at a little place called Panevino's. For Enid, it's pretty nice. Really good food and good wine too! :)

Last Saturday we dropped one of Katherine's nursings. I took away the one she had before her morning nap and the first two days she did great, life went on...but once the week started, she started having a hard time with it. Didn't want to take her morning nap (and some days she wouldn't even nap!) and would be very clingy and whiny during the day. She's not our whiny baby either so I knew that had to be why. But we pushed thru it and today was the first day she didn't cry herself to nap. YEA! So moving forward. I just don't remember Mason having as hard as a time as I'm having with her. And still no luck with her drinking cow's milk. So any advice would be welcome! I've tried it cold, warm, with meals, before naps, and nothing. Hoping to drop the afternoon nursing in a few days.

Tomorrow there's an air show here at Vance AFB. Today we met Daddy at the park on base and had a picnic lunch then went to the flight line to watch the Thunderbirds practice. Neither kid seem to mind the noise. Katherine was walking all over the place, she's just a mover, doesn't like to stay put. Which is also so different from Mason. He didn't bother anything in the house, didn't hardly get into anything...well Katherine is into everything! The dog food, toilet paper rolls, the potty (that was the new one today!), etc. I hear it's b/c she's a girl and girls are more of the nosey kind! So she keeps me pretty busy these days and we now know to keep the bathroom doors closed!

We're looking forward to getting out of town next week for the long weekend. Especially since Matt has been working such long hours! We're going to Dallas to visit some friends and go to the Texas state fair and of course...the OU/Texas football game! And from what we can tell, this state fair is HUGE! Should be lots of fun!

Mason is still doing great at school. Last Wednesday they had school pictures and the teacher said he was one of the best at taking pics. And everyday he tells me, "I learned that at school." With just about everything he does. Yea, he is finally enjoying himself!

9-22-08 Where are the weeks going? It seems ever since Mason started school, the weeks are going by so fast. We've been keeping busy! Matt and Mason went on a train ride Saturday, it was about an hour round trip. But forgot the camera so no pics. The train museum let you choose the caboose you wanted to ride in. It was a good thing for Daddy and mason to do. Sunday we went over to Woodward for Caden's birthday party. It's only about and hour and a half away so we just went over for the afternoon. We met at the park and Mason had a blast playing and playing. With all the birthday parties lately, he keeps asking when it's his birthday party! Some good news, Mason's doing MUCH better with the drop off at school. Last Wednesday and today, there were NO tears!! I don't know if it's b/c Daddy has been going or that he has a "job" in class. Wednesday it was being the "engine" (the line leader) and today he was a "scrubber" (guessing after snack time, he was a helper to clean up). But he did great and he is starting to tell me more and more what he does in school and his talking about his friends and all. As far as Katherine, she's still the happy go lucky little girl. We turned her car seat around this past weekend, now that she is over 20 lbs and one year old. She's really liking it, a new point of view! She has her 12 month well baby appt this Friday so will update after that. Today after taking Mason to school, we had to go to the Health Dept for her Hib shot. (The base hasn't had it for months so they sent us there) and to my surprise, she didn't cry at all. Usually it's after that poke in the leg but she didn't do anything! Now that being said, I think Friday she gets like 3 or 4 more so she may cry then! Well that's about it for now. We'll get on the weaning better this coming weekend, the timing didn't work out so well this past weekend with the train ride and all. She's not taking whole milk very well yet. We'll get there though!

9-16-08 Well I'm finally getting the pics from the weekend up. We had such a good party and weekend for that matter. We had a great turn out for the party, the rain even stopped and the sun came out! Not that the ground wasn't soaked so we were still inside. Kate loved the balloons and Mason loved helping to open presents. Katherine enjoyed her cupcake, she even ate two! Well mostly icing but who doesn't! The rest of the day was filled with football watching! Oh, I put a little slide show up on the front page of her 1 year pics. They turned out really good. She's more of a smiler that Mason was at that age!

Mason went to school Monday, he still cried when we left but once we were in the hall he stopped. When I picked him up, the teacher says it takes him about 5 minutes to warm up to everything then he's right in doing what the rest are doing. So instead of us thinking it would take a few days for him to be ok with it all, it may take a little longer. But slowly we're getting more of an idea of what he does in class. Yesterday we found some finger puppets for Kate at the store, well when we got home, Mason was up on the couch behind a pillow putting on a puppet show for us. He said he learned that at school. So we know he is liking it. But just needs to warm up to the idea of us leaving him.

This next Saturday Matt and Mason will be taking a train ride. So look for pics of that then. And now that we have a one year old, we will be start the weaning process this weekend. Wish us luck!

9-11-08 Our little girl is one now! It's been a busy week for us! And the party hasn't even started! Yesterday Kate enjoyed many birthday wishes and she loved to hear you sing to her. Of course, Mason wanted me to sing it with his name too! We had a function to go to at Matt's work, but we made it brief so we could get home and Katherine could open some presents. We got her one of those fuzzy chairs, Mason had one and she loves it. (When she gets to play with it, usually Mason tells her it is his!) So now she has her own. The big smile on her face just melted my heart. She also got a baby stroller, which she likes to push around, but she hasn't quite figured out how to turn around and go the other way w/out some help.

We're picking Nana up tomorrow and start to get things for the party ready! Then Saturday should be lots of fun. We've been getting lots of rain, so everything is nice and green but we're hoping to have the party outside, so we'll see if the rain stops. We'll have lots more pics to update after this weekend I'm sure. Thanks for the birthday wishes. She's still going to be the baby to me!

9-3-08 Well we survived the first day of school. Mason was up at about 7 and was somewhat excited about going to school. On the drive there, he started to realize Mommy and Daddy weren't going to stay. But we made it in and he hung up his backpack and went in. We walked around the room a little with him, showing him where things are. Time to say our goodbyes, and he did get upset. But we left and came back and the teachers said he did great. Once all the parents left and got into an activity he was fine. He was excited to show us his paper for the day, saying he had a wonderful day today. He even admitted to having "a little fun!" And he wants to go back another day. So we'll be back Monday! :)

9-2-08 Looks like I'm about due for an update! Finally got some new pictures up and tonight I will work on changing up the backgrounds and all, for the birthday girl of course! What have we been up to...

Katherine is fully walking now. So we bought her first pair of shoes this weekend. The first of MANY, I'm sure! She's a little unstable in them but she needs to wear them so she can walk outside. She loves looking at books, especially those with pictures of cats. She gets a huge grin and laughs when you say, kitty kitty. Hard to think of her being 1 year old. Guess I'll just hold onto the next week for as long as I can! We're having her party the 13th. I found this "cupcake" themed party and it's just too cute. We'll be having lots of cupcakes, and Mason can't wait to help! And Nana is coming in for the weekend so we're really excited!

Mason's first day of school is tomorrow so I'm sure I'll have more pictures and another update. He is still pretty excited about it, and when you talk about his school, he corrects you and tells you he's going to "preschool." Last week we met his teachers and he was ready to start then. We got to look at his room and see some of the other kids in his class. There will be a lot of military kids and one of the little boys is in our squadron so he kind of knows him. His classroom has a pet fish they are going to name next week. It's going to be a lot of fun for him.

Well I better end this so I can get dinner going. Oh yea, we got the kids a playset. We found a great deal with Step2 and it's just perfect for them. They both love swinging! Be sure to check back tomorrow to hear about Mason's first day!

8-17-08 What a fun weekend we had! Friday evening Matt's sister and family came over and watched the kids while we went to a pilot training graduation, one of the classes Matt flew with. So it was great getting a few hours away and acting like grown ups! Mason was thrilled to have lots of kids to play his GeoTrax with! I think they wore down many batteries! And Katherine did great too. She was really happy all night and even when we got home, she continued to play and wasn't ready for bedtime! Saturday everyone went to a little water park here. Katherine and I didn't go b/c there wouldn't be much for her to do there anyways. Maybe next year. We enjoyed the company this weekend, having a full house and all!

Starting Friday Katherine started walking and not much crawling anymore. She gets going pretty fast sometimes but she is able to keep her balance. She's really getting the walking thing down now. Just a few days ago, she would take a few steps, fall down then crawl. Well now, she walks and if she falls down, she will get right back up and keep walking. Still amazes me everyday!

8-10-08 Just wanted to put a few things on here. Katherine is toddling around now. She gets up to taking 6 steps, then plops down. She really likes to carry things when she's walking. I was able to get a little video of her tonight before bath. No matter how many times she takes steps, it's still exciting and amazing to watch!

In other news, we signed Mason up for a preschool program. After much debate in the house...we decided it will be something good for him.  He'll start after Labor Day and he will go two days a week for about 2 1/2 hours. We're not really calling it "school" for him, just a chance to get him use to the structure and meeting/making new friends. He could definitely use the socialization and something that doesn't rely on Mommy and Daddy so much. He seems excited about it. Today we went looking for a backpack. He picked out a little "Cars" one (of course) and he's been wheeling it around all day. So very proud. We go in a few weeks to visit the classroom and meet the teachers. He's growing up too!

8-3-08 We are back from our trip to CO. We had so much fun and the kids had a blast. We left last Saturday, it took us about 8 hours driving but with stops and lunch, it took us about 10 hours. Sunday we just relaxed and spent time with Nana and Pap-pap. Monday we did some shopping since we don't have many choices here in Enid! Tuesday we went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. It's really a nice zoo, built up into the side of the mountain. Mason didn't have much for feeding the giraffes but did enjoy seeing all the other animals. Guess the giraffes just get a little too close for his comfort. Kate didn't mind though. Pretty much each animal she would see, she would make a sound like she wanted to get closer. She was definitely more observant this trip to the zoo. On Wednesday we went to the North Pole, Santa's Workshop. This will probably be Mason's best memory. He had so much fun and he shocked me at how many and what rides he went on. He was doing rides that I didn't want to go on. Mason and Daddy went on many rides together and I think Mason will remember that trip for awhile. The park is really geared for younger kids, about 10 and under. There were plenty of rides and we hardly had to wait in any lines. Of course we had to see Santa, Kate sat on his lap but Mason didn't. But he was sure to tell him what exactly he wanted, a motor scooter. (There's a girl in our cul de sac that has one and he thinks he's ready for one!) Kate got on a few rides also; the ferris wheel, the train, a car ride, and the candy cane slide. Both kids zonked out on the ride home from the park that day. Thursday we stayed around the house, played outside and enjoyed the cooler temps! Friday we went to a place called "Lil Biggs" It's like Chuck E Cheese but more for little kids. There was a little arcade area and another area of play stations, like a hospital, music room, grocery store, a huge sand box, a bounce area too. We had a pretty eventful week! And we came back home Saturday, this time we were only on the road for 8 hours and 45 minutes! We had a great trip!

Katherine is still only taking 2-3 steps for us. But she's doing it a lot. It's cute to watch, she loves carrying around her "bunny" and other toys while she tries to walk. Unfortunately the first couple of days we were in CO, she had a fever. Her two middle top teeth broke thru the day before we left but I guess they were still working their way down and she was pretty miserable. Plus she doesn't like sleeping in a pack n play. So the nights were a little rough for me Wednesday and on she was a happy baby! And we discovered she can say a few words now, besides Dada and Nana. Mason was playing at Pap-pap's pool table and she was reaching for the balls and says "ba, ba" And if she has a phone in hand, she'll put it up to her ear and says her version of "hello" it's close to it but she says it much faster and without the l's. Wow, she's really growing up fast and turning into a little toddler!

Mason is well into his "terrific three's" Someone once told me that the 3's were the new "terrible twos" and there are many moments we believe that! He's really into imaginative play. He'll say, you be... and I'll be... and we have no idea where he comes up with these names! He also likes to stay in his pajamas all day if possible. And he has a little girlfriend across the street, Samantha! We saw them at the commissary today and I told him I just saw his girlfriend and he responds, "where's Samantha?" Silly kid. They enjoyed chasing each other around the commissary today!
Well that's it. Hoping these crazy temps over 100 don't last too much longer. I'm sure we'll make a couple more trips to the pool before they close. School here starts next week! That seems early to me, where has the summer gone!

7-21-08 Finally getting around to updating a few things. I know the 4th is long over so I'll have to work on changing the backgrounds and such. But until then, I put up some really cute pictures of Katherine! I found some hair clips that actually stay in her hair and she doesn't either know they are there once I get them in or she's not going to bother with them (for now). Last Tuesday her right, top incisor tooth popped thru. In one picture you can really see her teeth good. And the top two middle ones feel and look like they should come thru any day now. Her lack of teeth does not stop her from eating anything! She is our good eater! She'll eat anything you put in front of her. Since we started giving her table food, she's pretty much eaten everything we eat for meals! And she knows how to bite off of things too. Even with no top teeth! She can move around quite fast now too, "cruising" around everything. She's certainly getting closer to taking her first steps. She can stand on her own well and she shifts her weight to reach for things to balance on but no "official" first steps. But we're keeping our eyes on that b/c it won't be long we think! I put a new video of her on the front page so be sure to check that out.

Mason is enjoying the summer and getting lots of swimming in. He loves to jump off the side of the pool and likes going under water. He likes to show you how he can hold his breath. This past Saturday we were at our friend Dena's house and Mason was in the pool from about 1-730! He loves the water! We go to the pool on base at least once a week with the neighbors. They have a little girl who just turned two but Mason and her can't get enough of each other. When I tell him we're going somewhere, he asks, "what about Samantha?" I wish I had more pictures to post but when we go to the pool, I'm usually solo and don't really have the extra hands to take pics! But we're looking forward to this weekend and heading to CO! Mason's super excited! We told him we were going to the zoo there and the North Pole (like a little adventure park for kids with a Christmas theme). So he's anxoiusly awaiting for those days!

Well I think that's about it. We're getting closer to finishing staining/sealing our fence. Almost done the inside, then it's all Matt to finish the outside! There's a field behind us and I don't want to find out if/what lives out there! :)

7-8-08 Well as you can see, we didn't make the trip to CO for the 4th. With gas prices so outrageous and Matt not able to take any extra time off, we decided not to go. We would have had to drive all day Friday, stay for 2 days, then come back. So we're trying to make the trip to CO sometime later this month, when we can stay longer and it will be our anniversary trip. :)

Thursday evening, Uncle John, Emily and Evan came over. Mason had a blast having someone to play with. Those two little boys are full of so much energy. We were able to see some fireworks from our house that night. I think it helped that Evan liked them too, so Mason liked them and asked to see more.

We didn't do much this weekend, worked on staining our fence, oh so fun! Friday night we went to watch the fireworks, both kids did great, they napped later so they were able to stay up later.

Saturday night Mason had a fever and just wasn't feeling great. Then all day Sunday and today, his nose is running. And last night, Katherine had a fever, and is now congested. So guess it's just got to run through the family. So lots of tissues and hand washing later, we're getting by. It's no fun being sick in the summer though! We'll just lay low this week and get everybody feeling better.

We've begun a new adventure with feeding Katherine. One night we decided giving her what we had for dinner, chicken, rice, and green beans. Well she loved it and will hardly eat baby food for us now! So we're trying to get creative giving her table food and still making sure she gets enough. She loves chicken, carrots, green beans, avocados, cheese. Still trying to get cereal in her, but we only manage a few bites each meal since she makes such an awful face and usually spits it out! The fun begins! I think she has some teeth about to pop thru, at least it feels that way on the top. Hard to believe she's almost 10 months. We'll be throwing that first birthday party before we know it. :(

6-23-08 Ah, it feels good to get things caught up on here. I took some pics of Katherine the other day b/c I didn't feel like going to Wal-Mart for her 9 month pics. (Since that's the only place here other than some place professional and therefore, expensive) She was definitely a little harder to photograph b/c she wouldn't sit still for very long so many of her expressions are her saying "Mom, what the heck are you doing?" Things we do to get a smile. And as you can see, I only got one. Oh I better put that pic up too now that I think about it.

This past weekend Daddy went on a cross country trip. Two nights in FL and one in CO, even catching a Minnesota Twins game somewhere in there. Must be rough, huh? So we tried to keep busy for those 4 days. We went to the park one evening with some friends to ride the train, went to another friends Dena's house for swimming and dinner. Mason loved the floatie ring. He was all over the pool!

We're planning on meeting up with Nana and Pap-pap in CO for the 4th of July holiday. It will be a long day driving but we're looking forward to camping and pine trees! :)

Oh, in more big news, Kate has 3 teeth now! Funny thing, it's not either of the top middle ones, but the lateral incisor on the left. And from what we could see, the right incisor will pop thru any day now. And they continue to grow up so fast...

6-17-08 Just wanted to put the info from Katherine's 9 month well baby appt on here. She's 18 lbs 9 oz and 27 3/4 in. We have to wait yet again for the base to get her caught up on her shots. We just need her Hib shot from 6 months but they still don't have it. Hopefully by her 12 month visit we can get that taken care of. The doc said she looks great and is doing everything that she should be doing at this age. Still only two teeth and no sign of anymore coming in. She's a little stubborn letting anyone look/feel in her mouth. She started waving the other day. It's a big wave with her whole hand/arm but you say "hi or bye bye" she gets that arm moving. She also started to "cruise" around things. Sometimes she pushes off whatever she is holding onto and stands for a few seconds but then either plops down on grabs whatever she was holding onto. We're not thinking she'll be taking her first steps at 10 months like Mason did but that's just fine. She's mobile enough! :)

Daddy is back to the grind at work, he's got a new job now, an ADO (Assistant Director of Operations) He said it just sounds important. :) Yea Daddy! And he will be pinning on Major sometime this year!

6-15-08 Happy Father's Day Daddy! We are back from our trip and getting settled. We got back yesterday afternoon. The travel days were the long days! On the trip out, Kate didn't nap on the 3 hour flight but she did good considering no nap. We went to a rehearsal dinner the first night, then the wedding last Saturday. Both started at 730pm so the kiddos were up later than usual but did just fine. The night of the wedding a big storm came in and cut the power out, after the ceremony but before dinner. Lots of candles set the mood and provided light for the rest of the evening. They had the DJ using a generator so at least things went like they should have, just no A/C! Then Sunday we drove up to visit some family. While we were there we did a few things each day, to get the kids out of the house and get some energy out. We went to this place, Pottery by Me, where you paint whatever you want, they have tons of things to choose from. Mason picked a fire truck that Daddy helped him with. I painted a worm for Katherine then made a little plate with her handprint, it will be a nice 9 month keepsake. One day we drove out to the Antietam Battlefields. Daddy wanted to go and Kate napped while we drove around. Mason eventually fell asleep too. What else...we were bummed not to see much of Bailee and Bryce and Aunt Shannon, Bailee got the chicken pox! No fun for her. Wednesday evening we met family for a night at Chuck E Cheese. Mason loved playing the games. And Katherine enjoyed trying some "new" foods! :)We drove back to Baltimore Friday b/c our flight was early on Saturday morning so didn't want to drive and get up extra early. We had an uneventful trip back and Kate even napped on the plane. We had a fun trip visiting family but it's nice to be back home, I think the kids were glad to be back in their own beds. Kate slept very well last night! :) Well that's about it from our trip. Today we're just going to spend some time with Daddy for Father's Day. Use his gift, the new grill! :)

5-30-08 We had a great weekend with Nana and Pap-pap visiting. Saturday was interesting as we were watching storms all day and even had a few tornado warnings (the sirens going off and all), so that was a fun day. So we were either watching the news or watching the clouds. It was kind of interesting watching the wall cloud and seeing "rotations" trying to form. Crazy Daddy, standing out there, he had all of us out there watching at some point. I guess when you grow up in OK, you kinda know more what to expect. Mason and Katherine enjoyed their visit too. Katherine figured out how to click her tongue, thanks Pap-pap! So now she'll just look at you and start doing that. Mason enjoyed playing with Pap-pap and watching the race cars. He liked the crashes, such a boy! Mason got a new pool last weekend and just loves it. Today was Katherine's first time in it and she did great. Other than a having her brother jumping around, she liked being in the water. She started playing peek a boo now. You can ask her, "where's Katherine?" and she puts a blanket or whatever she has over he eyes, then takes it down and you say "boo" and she grins. Too sweet. Must hold onto these sweet moments, they pass by so quickly.

We have a busy week ahead of us before we leave for MD. Tomorrow we have a "road rally" with the squadron. We're not exactly sure what that's going to be about but it's "family friendly" so should be interesting. We will end up at a restaurant where we're farewelling the squadron commander and family. Sunday, Daddy may have to work since they are behind in flying, but maybe he won't have to go in. (Keep our fingers crossed!) Then next week we're having some repairs done on the house, getting gutters put up, change of command, etc. Then we're off bright and early Friday morning. Should be fun flying with 2 kids, we haven't ventured that one yet.

5-23-08 Well just a little quick something since I added a few picutures. We had a great time last weekend in Norman for Mark's wedding. It was nice seeing a bunch of family and it was nice to see Mason running around with all his cousins. He really comes out of his shell when he's around them all! Katherine enjoyed all the attention too. She's too cute. But she is started to get into the "separation anxiety" stage. Just a wee bit. She's ok most of time but if she's tired or hungry, only Mommy will do, well sometimes Daddy too. She continues her quest for mobility. Crawling everywhere, she has no limits, and pulls up on everything she can. She loves following Mason around and wants to be where he is, much to his dismay though.

This week we have been busy getting ready for Nana and Pap-pap's visit. They will be here later this afternoon! :) We finally got our front flower beds done, they look really nice, now we're just waiting for gutters to be installed (hopefully no huge rain storms before then!). We had some storms last night and Daddy wasn't able to fly home, he had to go to OKC then take off today. This is the second time and I'm sure there will be many more. I just wonder, does anyone watch the weather forecast? Why do they let them go out knowing that there's a good probability they won't be able to get back in!? Who knows, out of our control I suppose. Well better get to some chores around the house. Will have pics from this weekend...
