Well, we have been busy moving to KY and getting ourselves settled in. We found a great house that we are renting for now. Our beautiful house in NC is still waiting for an owner! We really hope it sells soon--one less thing to worry about! We have enjoyed reaping the benefits of being close to family. We have been able to go "home" or have some company come to our home almost every weekend since we got here! The kids also love being so close and getting to spend some much needed time with the grandparents! Nate is scheduled to go to Ft. Stewart, GA for a few months in April. His unit trains other units for deployments to Iraq. He will be there for about 2 months and we might even be able to go spend some time with him while he is there.
After that--we are still on the fence about the next "deployment". We are praying that he won't have to go! More on that---------later!
The kids are doing great and Christian is enjoying school. Ainsley is home with me for now. I sure do love getting to spend quality time with her! I am still getting used to being a SAHM! I like not having the stress of WORK! That is for sure!
Christian is such a big boy! He is completly riding his bike without training wheels, can tie his own shoes, and can "read" a story by himself! Yes, he has it memorized, but that is how we start reading! He is doing great in school and his teacher praises him every day.
Ainsley is on her way to being potty trained. She is doing so well! Her big milestone is giving up the BINKI! We are on day 4! She is doing great! She is also talking up a storm! It is nice to be able to communitcate with her! She is such a big girl, and tries to do everything her brother does!
Comments So fun to get the update even when I get to see you all. It is so exciting to read about our special grandson and granddaughter. I am so proud of you all. Much Love, - Meme Kaffy

UPDATES!!Here are some brief "snapshots" of the past months.
Our biggest news:WE ARE MOVING TO
FT. KNOX
,
KY
!We will be in KY the weekend of January 23
rd!Of course everyone is thrilled and excited we are PCSing so close to home.We recently went to see Nathan's family in FL!We all had a blast, and I got to hook up with my friend Jenn G. and her children while we were there! The kids and I also took a quick road trip to GA to see our good friend Beth G.We had a blast!
August 2008
We went to KY to visit family and celebrate Christian's fourth Birthday! We had a great time!At the end of the month, I started school (teaching 2
nd grade) and Christian started pre-school at Building Blocks!Ainsley is growing so much! She loves her big brother!
September 2008
Nathan and the kiddos went back to KY to visit while he was on block-leave.I stayed behind, because I had to work.I turned 33 on the 15
th!Where does the time go?!Nathan got me a PINK Dell computer! He was so sneaky!I had no idea!I love it, and am using it as we speak! We also put our house on the market, knowing that we would need to sell it in the near future!
October 2008
Nathan had a birthday and turned 31!The kids just keep growing!Ainsley is talking more and more every day!She tries to keep up with her brother and do everything he does!At the end of the month, my only living grandmother told the family she was "sick" and had been for a while. She had cancer (starting in the breast) and it had spread. So we were all shocked and devastated. But we all dealt with the news, and went on from there.
November 2008
The big news this month-Ainsley used the big potty! She loves to get on the potty!Even when she doesn't "use" it!I can't believe she wants to use the potty!Obviously, she still goes in her diaper, but she tries to let me know if she needs to go!
Nathan broke his ankle on a night jump! Wow! He was a trooper! He had six screws and a long plate put in his fibula!
We went home for Thanksgiving..............it was soooooooooo tasty!Kimberly and Jared had the "big" dinner at her house. The next day, we had ANOTHER Thanksgiving dinner at my mom's house!I was so happy that my grandmother was able to attend. She really didn't feel like it, but came anyway.
December 2008
What a month.On the 11
th, my grandmother passed away.I am comforted by the fact that I was able to be there by her side.Needless to say, it was a hard Christmas without her.The kids had a big Christmas, one I know that Christian won't forget! We are so proud of Christian. He finally started making it through the night with DRY pants!Although he has been potty trained since he was two, the night potty training has been a challenge! This makes life much easier for all parties! He also began riding his bike WITHOUT training wheels! What an accomplishment!
So........yes, it's been a while! As always, finding the time to keep up my site has proved a huge task!My apologies to all those who "religiously" check for updates!
J
It has been a whirlwind since Nathan left to go back to
Iraq at the end of March! One big milestone that happened in Ainsley's life during Nathan's R&R (actually right on St. Patrick's Day) was her first steps!Yes, our little girl started walking while daddy was home (I think she was waiting on him!)
J
During the month of April, all I can remember was SCHOOL!Getting up every morning at 5:00 a.m. to make it to the J.O.B.!The month of May came and went swiftly. This was crunch time for me as I had to make sure all my little cherubs were prepared to move on to the third grade!
June went by so fast!My last day of school was June 12
th.I sure was ready to get out!The kids and I took a quick trip down to
Phenix City,
AL to see some friends! So that was one week of traveling and visiting. It sure was nice to see everyone!Jenn, Cass, Susan, and I had 8 children between all of us!Boy was it a blast! We also stopped in
Statesboro,
GA on our way back home to see a friend (Beth) who we hadn't seen in a year! The kids and I also took a trip to KY to visit with the family. We actually just got back on July 7th! It was nice to spend the 4th of July with everyone in KY.
Now-we are looking at the month of July right in the face! And the best news about this month?!NATHAN IS COMING HOME FROM A 13 MONTH DEPLOYMENT!!You can't get much better news than that...........right!?Of course, due to OPSEC reasons, I can't say EXACTLY when he is coming home, but it is soon! His parents and my dad will be coming down to welcome him home.We are all thrilled as you can imagine!
It is hard to believe that my baby boy will be turning 4 next month! He is so big!He is such a good helper to me.He seems to learn something new every day!Ainsley has grown so much too!She is 18 months old now.She was only 5 months old when her daddy left to go fight the war in
Iraq. She is walking and trying to talk up a storm! She says about 15 words, and will try to repeat almost anything you say to her!She just babbles on and on!I just don't know what she is saying yet!
J
Well, I will go for now.I will try to post some new pictures!
So, Christmas has come and gone. It was a great one (minus the fact that Nathan and Jared are gone). I made a slide-show of our Christmas with the Brown Family and May Family. We all had a wonderful time! The kids were thrilled to be in KY and see everyone! We had a nice long stay (about 2 weeks) and got to get together with a lot of friends and family. One of the fun things we did was visit the Explorium Children's Museum in Lexington.
One of my dear friends (Selena) and her son were able to come with us. Christian, Parker, and Dawson had a blast! I am speaking for all of the adults, but we had a great time too! We had a wonderful visit, but had to come back home to NC on the 31st.
The kids and I are now "back in the groove" of daily life here at home. We are enjoying the long weekend (MLK). The kids and I all got sick just a few days after we got back! We all had the "poops and pukes"! What a mess! Ainsley was so bad, I had to take her back for such a bad diaper rash. We are all better now! Thank goodness!
Nathan is doing great! He got so many nice gifts for Christmas. He (we) appreciate everyone's prayers and thoughts. We are still looking forward to his R&R sometime in March. Thankfully, the time seems to be flying by.
Okay, so I realize it has been FOUR months since my last update!Yes, A LOT has happened since that last update!
I will hit the "highlights" of the past few months quickly and try not to bore anyone!
August:Christian had a Birthday and turned 3!We celebrated by going bowling with his closest friends!School started for me and I am still teaching at Devers Elementary (2
nd grade).
September:I had a Birthday and turned 32!Wow!Time flies!I celebrated by going out to dinner with friends here at
Ft.
Bragg.
October:Nathan had a Birthday and turned the BIG 30!Don't worry honey; you don't look a day over 23!Ha Ha!Of course, the kids went Trick-or-Treating around our neighborhood!Christian was Thomas the Train (again) and Ainsley was a cat! They both looked so cute!
November:One word............THANKSGIVING!!What a YUMMY time of year!I took a few extra days off work and the kids and I headed to KY to be with family for the holiday. We had a great time!We ate too much!We were able to visit with family and friends. It was a short trip (1 week), but we will be spending more time in KY during the Christmas holiday.Christian started Pre-School!!!!I was so proud of him, and can't believe he is already such a big boy!He absolutely LOVES going to school!
December:MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!We are so excited about our trip home to KY!School is out for me on the 18
th.We will be headed to KY soon thereafter!I want to wish everyone a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!Nathan is doing great in spite of his circumstances; he has gotten so many Christmas boxes from everyone! It really lifts his spirits to receive mail!We are planning on celebrating Ainsley's Birthday in KY since her B-day is on the 30
th and we will still be in KY!It should be fun with all the family around!I can not believe she is going to be 1 YEAR OLD!
We are expecting Nathan home sometime around the beginning of spring for his R&R.We are ALL looking forward to that! The kids are doing great. They are growing so fast and learning so much!
I am going to sign-off for now.Hope this entry wasn't too unbearably long!
Okay, so it's been so long since I have written anything, it has just been "easier" to ignore the website! However, with a pinch of guilt and some "encouragement" from Jennifer R. and family, I am going to "update" the site!So since April, what has been going on...................here it goes!
School was going on until June 15
th for me.Nathan got deployed on June 8
th, which was his mother's birthday, and a day before our 6 year anniversary. After school let out, the kids and I went to see our friends Bryan, Cass, and Jack in
Charlotte.On July 3
rd the kids and I traveled to KY to visit with friends and family.I was so thrilled to see my long-time friend Selena, her husband, and their son who is just a year older than Christian.I also "extended" my stay in KY in hopes of getting to meet my nephew-Brady William Perkins.Of course, the day after I returned home, my sister had the baby!I returned home on July 22
nd.I was so excited when my good friend Jenn R. called and told me she was going to come and visit and she was here for about a week. She just left on the 3
rd of August.I have another really good friend from GA coming to see us with her daughter that is six days younger than Christian.Beth and Hannah will be here Sun. the 5
th!
Needless to say-We have been VERY BUSY!Time seems to pass much more quickly since Nathan has been gone.It consumes all my time just taking care of the kids and keeping them occupied!
Today (4 Aug.) Christian had his birthday party on Pope Air Force Base at the bowling alley. His birthday is on the 6
th and he will be three!Time has passed by so quickly! It seems like just yesterday Christian was born!We had a great time bowling and he received so many wonderful gifts!
Nathan is able to call/e-mail almost every day.So I feel very blessed to be able to correspond with him so much.He is doing well, and appreciates all your thoughts and prayers.
I will (try) to update in more detail as recent events come to my mind!I will also try to download some new pictures and/or picture slide shows of all the "visiting" we have been doing lately!School will be starting back up for me on the 20
th of this month!TOO SOON!!!!!!!
J
Obviously, our big news is we have a baby girl! :) I went into labor early on Dec. 30th and Ainsley was born at 1:12 p.m. Ainsley came five weeks early. However, even though she was born at 35 weeks, she did not have to spend any time in the NICU. The doc's said she was as healthy as a full-term baby, just really small! So thankfully, we were only in the hospital for two nights!
I apologize for the "late" pictures of Ainsley, but we have been VERY busy and our internet has been "under the weather"! We have had lots of company recently, and still looking forward to more company! :)
I will post more "company" pictures later.
We are all doing well, and adjusting to our new routines with Ainsley! Christian is as happy as ever, and loves his little sister! I will write more later, the kids are calling!!!!!!!!!
Well, Christmas has come and gone and it's hard to believe! We had a good Christmas with Papaw and Meme May. They came down on Christmas Day to spend some time with us since we couldn't travel due to Miss Ainsley Elizabeth! I know it has been forever since I have put an update! To make a long story short: I am on bed rest basically until she decides to come, which I am anticipating any day now! I went to the birth unit on Dec. 20 because I was spotting. Everything was fine, but the doc said I was dilated 3 cm and I needed to take it easy to keep her in as long as possible. I am 35 weeks, so if she comes, they will go ahead and deliver her! We are very excited for her to arrive!
We have also had somewhat of a somber Christmas this year. My Uncle passed away on Christmas Eve back home in KY. The very next day, my Grandma Linda fell and tore her knee up pretty bad. She had to get 17 stitches and is staying with my mom and dad for several days because she can't be alone. Considering her age (89), we are all very thankful that the fall wasn't any worse than what it was. She should have a full recovery.
We went home for Thanksgiving and had a great time. I have posted the pics from our visit on the front page. My sister-in-law Kimberly gave us the sweetest baby shower! We got so many great gifts! We are very ready for Ainsley to come! The only thing I have left is to pack my bag for the hospital!
I will try to post some of our Christmas pics soon!
Things are going well here at the May house. We are off today (Friday) in
observance of Veteran's Day. Nathan and I woke up at our usual time (5:30 a.m.) and got busy doing some much needed things around the house! I posted some pics of our visit with Kimberly and Jared! It was so fun to finally meet my nephew Parker! What a sweet boy! He is a very good baby! School is keeping me busy AND TIRED!!!!! I think I stay exhausted most of the time.........hence the lack of updates on the website! We have Parent-Teacher conferences at school this coming Friday. Report cards will go out next week, although they were due this past Tuesday. It took me FOREVER to do them! It has been over two years since I had to do report cards, so I had to refresh my memory! :)
I enjoy my job, but I have to say it takes a lot out of me! Some days, I do well to make it through the day! Once baby girl comes, I know I will feel better, at least physically.
Christian had a great time Trick-or-Treating on Halloween! I posted some pics of him! He picked out his own costume (he wanted to be Thomas the Train!) He was so polite as we went around to all the houses. He said "Trick-or-Treat, I'm Thomas the Train, Choo-choo!" I also asked him to thank everyone who gave him candy! He was so cute! I think I enjoyed it as much as him!
We had a great visit with Mom and Dad May too! I will post pictures of our adventures with them soon!
Nathan is enjoying his job, although he has long hours sometimes! He has almost gotten baby girl's room finished (paint/trim). We are so excited about her arrival! We are planning on going home (KY) for Thanksgiving. Kimberly is planning a Baby Shower. I just LOVE buying PINK! :) How fun!
I will try to keep everyone updated more often! Gotta go and put boy down for a nap!
Well, it's been busy! (my usual excuse!) There has been a lot going on. We have had many visitors the past four weeks. At the beginning of the month, we had my sister and brother-in-law. About 10 days after that, we had Nathan's sister and her husband. I finally got to meet my nephew Parker Owen! Then, we just had my mother and father-in-law. We sure did have fun with everyone! But it sure is hard to watch everyone leave! :(
I have some new photos, but I will start with the visit from my sister and her husband Justin.
My job is going well, I am just extremely tired all the time! I am in my 25th week of this pregnancy. I am glad it seems to be going by fast! We are excited about baby girl! We finally took a trip to Babies R Us and picked out a "theme" for her room so we can get started on it! I will take pics and post them sometime in the near future! :)
Nathan is enjoying his job still, it's just long hours and jumping out of perfectly good airplanes! :)
Christian is doing well and we are really "pushing" the potty training! He is doing so well though! He went all day today without a diaper at Mrs. Crystal's house. He only had one accident today! I am so proud of him!
Well, I have to go to a church meeting, so I will try to write more later!
It's been a while, but this month has FLOWN by! It has been a very fun and exciting month for us! I turned 31 on the 15th, and don't feel a day over 25! :) Thanks to everyone who sent cards, wishes, gifts, etc.! I really had a great day even though it was very busy! I worked that day, had an appt. for Christian, a Hail and
Farewell dinner, and an ultrasound appt. for me and the baby.........all in one day! I sure was glad to crawl into the bed that night! Nathan got me a really nice glider-rocking chair and stool, which will be very nice when baby girl arrives! :)
School has been going well, I am very exhausted at the end of each day, but I am hoping that will pass! It always seems that I expend all my energy at work with my 19 second graders! It takes sooooooooo much energy just to keep up with them! I really am enjoying my job though!
Christian still continues to thrive and do very well at daycare. He talks non-stop and is into EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!! He is such a BOY! He is also very excited about having a baby sister!
I really will try to do better about updating.........I promise! I have been VERY busy preparing for my new teaching job at Devers Elementary. It has been over a year since my last job! Not only am I a tad rusty, I have been recovering from pregnancy sickness, I have a two year old, and one on the way! Things never seem to slow down to say the least!
I have made it through my first week, and all went well. My kids are very sweet, and seem very bright for second graders. My friend Mel made it here to Ft. Bragg and she is teaching down the road from me at Bowley Elementary! It is so nice to actually have a friend here that I know!
I have met one really sweet girl who teaches third grade. Her room is right next door to mine! She is so awesome and very helpful. She is married to an ARMY man too! Her name is Katie. I am so glad she is nice and cares about helping me my first year at Devers! She has been there for two years. It is great to have some "adult" interaction throughout the day!
Nathan is doing well. He is getting into the groove of his job now. They are really big on PT here, so it is not uncommon for him to do a 5-7 mile run every morning! He will be in great shape! He hasn't been able to do his first jump yet...........but that is coming soon.
I have been very blessed in the childcare dept.! Christian goes to Mrs. Crystal's every day while I'm at work. She is a wonderful lady! He really enjoys going to her house. She has two infants and a three year old boy for Christian to play with! I am so thankful for all the wonderful providers the Lord has put into our lives for Christian! Christian still talks about Mrs. TT and his friends from GA. I know I am emotional because of the pregnancy, but sometimes when he says all their names, it makes a tear come to my eye!
I finally posted some photos from Christian's second birthday party. As you can see, we went to Chuck E. Cheese! Much easier than throwing a party at the house! :) We all had a blast!
Well, everything here at the house is starting to come together...........finally! Most of the boxes are unpacked, there are actually pictures on the wall, and we are functioning more like a family with a schedule now. I have been feeling better. The meds (zofran) really seem to help.
Nathan has started working again, along with PT and he is a little "rusty" after taking such a long break! He is enjoying his job so far and everything seems to be going well. I did find out this week I will be teaching SECOND grade! I am very happy about that because I am
familiar with the curriculum already. I just haven't been assigned a room! I will know by early next week! Good thing, considering the kids start on the 25th of this month! :)
Christian had a wonderful second birthday! We celebrated with a couple of friends and my parents at Chuck E Cheese. He really racked in the gifts for such a small intimate party! He acts so grown-up sometimes, he shocks me! He has continued to use the potty at least once a day, and is now sleeping in his "big boy" bed! And miraculously he actually stays in it though the night! He has come in our room a few times, scared or something, but he always goes back in his bed! I'll keep everyone posted on his progress.
I promise to get some photos of his birthday party up soon! Just don't have much time right now.
It's been a while to say the least! I think we are finally up and running here at the May house! I have been so terribly sick, along with the move, it has just been a miracle that I can make it through each day lately! I am actually on the mend "I hope" I have entered my fourth month of this pregnancy, so hopefully the worst is over. I have to say the medicine I have taken so far is Zofran. It has done wonders for me!
Christian is doing well, growing so big and fast! He is such a little man! We will be celebrating his second birthday on Aug. 6th! Where does the time go! He is talking up a storm and learning more every day! He just recently learned how to ride his tricycle! He can actually pedal it "the correct way" up and down the street now! He is so excited. We are also continuing to work on our potty training. He loves to use the "big boy potty" like mommy and daddy! He has gone #1 and #2 many times in the potty! We still don't have it down to a science though! I want to make sure we don't pressure him to much about it.
Nathan is still on leave until Tues. of next week. It has been nice to have him here so the house can be put in "order" before he gets back in the swing of things. He has really done a lot of work to the yard, and it looks fabulous!
My parents are coming down for Christian's birthday, so we are also looking forward to that. I finally went and found the school I will be working in on post. It is HUGE and pretty new (1996), and I love it! All the rooms are spacious, and the whole school is in the process of getting new flooring! I meet the principal, vice principal, secretary, and several teachers that happened to be there. They all were very nice and supportive and welcomed me with open arms. I won't know until next week what grade I will have. Right now, it could be 1st, 2nd, or 3rd! I'm really not particular, though I have taught 2nd grade "the most". After I find out which grade I will have next week, I will be able to go into the room and start getting it ready for business! We don't start until the very end of Aug. so I should have plenty of time to do what I need.
I am still not sure what I will be doing with Christian yet. I still need to talk to several people who have been here a while. I would like to do FCC again, or possibly find someone close by that has an in home daycare.
Well, I must go to get Christian ready. We are headed out to the hospital to have our first sonogram of this baby! I am still so early; I don't think they will be able to tell me about the sex of the baby. But it sure is reassuring to have the sonogram and just know that everything is okay and the baby is on track. I will keep everyone posted!
Christian has been doing pretty well with his potty training. We haven't really "pressed" the issue; we don't want him to dislike it. He has "pee-peed" several times on different days, and yesterday he had a "poo-poo"! He seems to go in spurts with the potty! I'm not too worried about it yet, since he's not even two. We are also in the process of "taking the binki" away! He hasn't had it for a week! And the great thing about it...........he hasn't cried or asked for it! What a relief!
Life has been crazy to say the least around the May house! We are in the midst of preparing for our move. We are very excited about moving into our new house! To make matters worse, I have had VERY BAD Acid Reflux and "morning sickness". I just can't seem to feel "better". I hope and pray it passes very soon. I am getting ready to enter my 9th week; so hopefully, I will see some relief soon. I went to the doctor and got some prescription GERD medicine, as well as some medicine to ease my stomach. We will see if it works.
Kimberly, Jared, and Parker are all doing very well. They are preparing to move back to Fleming Co. Parker is doing wonderful! He is such a doll! They are all working on a "schedule" to make life easier! Most babies have their days and nights mixed up for a while!
We were happy to find out that the unit Nathan is going to in Ft. Bragg just returned recently from a deployment in Afghanistan. This is "good" news because that means "in theory" he shouldn't be getting deployed any time soon. But, you never know with the ARMY!
My sister and her husband are in the process of moving into their home on their new land. Hopefully, they will be in their house in the next week or so.
One great thing about being closer to family...............they can come help you sometimes! We are expecting Nathan's parents and my mom the day before our household goods arrive at the new house! That will make unpacking much easier and faster! :) I will keep everyone posted on our progress.
Well, I must say that God has really blessed our family in the past couple of weeks! Where to start..............Kimberly is due to deliver baby DeAtley any day now! She just went today and had her "membranes stripped" to help induce labor. So we are TRYING to wait patiently for the baby to his appearance! My sister April and her husband Justin just purchased 20 acres of land and are preparing to move their mobile home on Monday. We purchased a house last weekend in NC.We will be closing on the house sometime between the 7
th and 11
th of July.We are scheduled to have our household goods picked up on July 5
th, 6
th, and 7
th.Our "stuff" is supposed to be delivered to us on the 12
th of July! The ARMY really helps you move in a hurry! We are looking forward to the move.
I also received a call yesterday about a job I applied for.I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!!!!!I will be teaching 3
rd grade at Devers Elementary on post in
Ft.
Bragg
!It is a DoD position, so all my pay/benefits will be about the same as when I taught in
Germany
!Nathan and I were so thrilled to get that news!School will start at the end of August, so I will have plenty of time to get my room ready, etc.
And, I saved the best news for last???..for those of you who don't already know, Nathan and I are expecting our second child!
J
YES, I'M PREGNANT!7 weeks to be exact. My due date is February 3
rd, which just happens to be Kimberly's Birthday!
JI will keep everyone posted on my progress!
Well, that's all for now.Nathan and I are going to Lowe's to look at some fencing for our new backyard!
Well, we just found out that the house we wanted to buy got SOLD! Oh well, guess it wasn't the house for us after all. We will be heading back to NC this weekend AGAIN to look at some more houses. We really hope and pray we can find the one we want this time (before someone else)! Keep us in your prayers about this house/move. We are due to pack out on July 5th and 6th as of right now. We hope to move directly into our new home, and not have to stay in a hotel during transition.
We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Baby DeAtley! We are so proud of Kim and Jared. They are such hard workers! Congratulations to Kimberly on her new job! She got a job in Flemming County as a media specialist! For those of you who are "Old School" that is a fancy word for Librarian! :) I would like to make it back to KY one more time after the baby is born before school starts in NC. Hopefully, I will have a job in August as well! I had a phone interview with a DoD school on post in NC on May 31st. I hope I impressed them enough to hire me!! :) I should find something out within the next week or so. I will keep everyone posted!
Christian has been growing in leaps and bounds! I swear he surprises me more and more every day! Yesterday, Nathan was listening to him play (he didn't know daddy was watching) and he counted by himself to eleven!!!!! I was so shocked! I am so proud of him, and he is such a sweet boy. He is always on the move (rarely sits still) but so sweet! He had learned to say "please" and "thank you" at the appropriate times. Sometimes, I think he has more manners than I do! :o
I really enjoyed working out today. I haven't worked out for almost three weeks! We have had company, been gone, and been so busy, I just haven't had a chance! I got a great workout in, and it always makes me feel better. Well, I must go pick Christian up. I will try to post some video and pictures later.
Yes, it has been a while since my last post!We have been VERY busy the past several weeks. We have been in NC to visit friends, had company, went back to NC to look for a house, and went home to KY for a 10 day visit with friends and family!
Needless to say, we have had a jam-packed schedule lately!I have posted some new photos of our adventures. My friend Selena came to visit us for a few days with her son Dawson. We had a wonderful time while she was here. While she was here, we went for a quick trip to NC to see our friends from
Germany
.
Bryan and Nathan went to the NASCAR races, while the girls and babes had a fun filled day at the nearby theme park Carowinds. We (and the boys) had a great time at the water park!
JI posted some pictures.
The next weekend, we traveled back to NC to look for a house. We had a few houses we really liked and got to look at them all.One in particular really stood out.We are in the process of getting the paperwork ready to purchase the house.I have posted some photos we took of the house.
During our short trip home, we packed in 3 family reunions, a baby shower, a trip to the water park, visits with friends, and a lot of EATING!Kim's shower was great.Mostly just close family, but the baby got a lot of nice gifts. We had a May family reunion, a Johnson family reunion, and a Brown family reunion while we were there!I have photos from each reunion. We absolutely had a BLAST at all of them!It was so nice to get to see everyone again!
I was also so happy to get to meet up with Holly (my friend from
Germany
) while we were home. She and her husband Dathan were in OH for a wedding/visit, so we met in the middle and had lunch together!
JIt was so nice to see them and spend some time with them!I will post pictures of that meeting soon!
For Mother's Day this year, we met up with Nathan's cousin Jasmine, her husband Chris, their son Jackson, and Nathan's aunt Steph in Savannah, GA. We had a wonderful time (as you can see in the pics!) We stayed in a beach front hotel on Tybee Island. It was so beautiful to wake up to the ocean waves!
It was wonderful weather, but still a bit chilly for the ocean! I did however, get in for just an instant. I couldn't go to the beach without getting in! :) On Sunday, we ate an awesome meal at The Lady and Sons restaurant. We had such a wonderful time! Jackson and Christian had great time playing together! I enjoyed watching them play!
Well, Christian had a cough and runny nose for several days so I took him to the doctor, and what did they tell me?! Another EAR INFECTION!!!!!!!!!!! This time it's a double ear infection! He has an infection in both ears! I couldn't believe it! He didn't even act like his ears bothered him! His cough/drainage was caused from the infection! I never suspected his ears at all! He is on antibiotics and cough meds. He is feeling better already. He is eating more and being more active.
I have also been under the weather, I have a sinus infection! I guess we are just a bunch of "sickies"! :) I haven't been to the Doc for myself.........yet! If it doesn't clear up in a few days, I will try to get some antibiotics.
Nathan has faired very well amongst all the sickness. He is finishing up his last days of his CCC class. We will be going to Morehead at the end of this month. We are also in the process of looking for a place to live in NC. There are some really nice houses up there! We are going to NC this Tuesday to look at some houses. Hopefully, we can find one we LOVE!
My friend Selena and her son Dawson are coming to visit us tomorrow! I am so excited! She has not gotten to meet Christian yet! We are planning all our days away already!
This weekend we will be heading to the SC/NC border to meet up with our friends Cass and Bryan. The girls and the babes will be hanging out and going to a theme park, while the men go to the NASCAR races! How fun! ;)
Okay, so it has been a LONG time since my last post! Forgive me, I let everything else get in the way! :) We have been very busy here at the May house. We have had a yard sale, church, day-to-day activities, play groups, praise team practice, (need I go on?!) Anyways, I apologize to all my "faithful" readers! :)
So here are a few "quick" updates: My friend Jenn R. gave birth to Natalie Michelle Ramirez on April 26th. She weighed-in at 8.2 lbs. and 22.4 in. long. :) I just spoke with Jenn a few days ago, and they are all doing great! Such wonderful news!
I am also in the process of planning a baby shower for my sister-in-law Kimberly. We are leaving for KY on May 25th (Lord willing!) :) We are so excited about our trip home! Nathan and I both are going to be able to attend family reunions! It will be nice to see everyone.
This weekend we are going to Savannah with Nathan's cousin Jasmine, her husband Chris, and their son Jackson. We will be staying on Tybee Island, right on the beach! :) I have never stayed in a hotel right on the beach before, so we are looking forward to it! On Mother's Day, we will be eating at the Lady and Son's restaraunt owned by Paula Deen! We are also looking forward to all the wonderful food!
Potty training update: GOING VERY SLOWLY! He likes to sit on the potty sometimes, and other times he doesn't. It is really hit and miss right now. He has sat on his potty (with a diaper on) and went poo poo in his diaper! :) Getting closer!
Tomorrow evening, Nathan and I are attending his class dinner. We have a sitter coming to watch Christian when we go. We are planning on coming home a little early, since we are leaving early Saturday morning for Savannah.
