8-17-09 Well.....its August already!!! Holy cow the summer has gone by fast! I have been uploading pictures today and there are A LOT so go back a few pages. I hadn't uploaded pictures since April so there are 3 1/2 months worth of pictures there. Be sure to take a look! (4 new pages of pictures)

We are doing good! We had our trial date and everything went better than we could have expected. A plea agreement was made that everything would be dropped if Dustin takes a parenting class, so Praise God! Everything is in the clear. Final trial date is Nov 4th to show the certificate of the parenting class and then this will all be behind us! :)

Emelia is 9 months old already, wow I can't believe the time went that quickly. She is not quite crawling but scooting and rolling everywhere. She has been quite the stinker lately and has been up again in the night about 3 times a night. I can't wait for 3-4 solid hours of sleep! Hopefully she will go back to that soon!!

Elijah is going to be 5 soon!! My little boy is getting so big so fast! He is very excited for a birthday party at the park later this month. It will be a combined birthday party for both of the boys, might as well while they still let us! He has matured so much this summer, he can sit still now and listens better and all together is just becoming a little boy!

Evan is potty training! He is actually doing very well, I hope it continues this way. Today he has gone potty on the toilet already about 8 times and has only had 2 accidents in which one of them was him telling us he needed to go and stopped half way through to run to the potty so he is getting it!!! WHEWWW!!!!

Dustin is home now! :) He has been home for a week and will be at least till the parenting classes are over, so that was a blessing in disguise. That will be about 6-7 weeks. We have been very busy with the garden and the chickens and all the things that come with summer and kids, t-ball, swimming lessons, family bike rides and walks, and are enjoying our summer.

Almighty as I have been saying lately I hope to keep updated better!

6-26-09  Well we had our court date today, didn't go all that well. The judge explained what Dustins sentence would be if he pleaded guilty and asked what he pleas. Well the sentence is 6 months in jail and or $500 fine. We can not afford to lose work for 6 months. We would lose our house etc. The judge was really cranky, he had already sent people to jail and was handing out fines like crazy. So the judge said "Do you want a lawyer?" And Dustin said Yes so he pleaded not guilty, meaning we get a lawyer to talk to, and we have a trail date set for July 28.

Another girl in our room had her son do the same thing. We talked to her before the trial. He snuck out of the house and the neighbors called the cops on her and her son was taken away after her trial. So we aren't messing around here, the judical system is strict and cranky and messed up IMO. Granted I dont know her backround or if she had anything else against her, but her son has been taken away since Oct. so we are a little nervous.

Who knew this could blow into all this?! I realize that our son snuck out, but it was an honest mistake and we are good parents, it happened once and why are we going through all this?? I am so confused and mad, irritated...all of the above.

Why aren't they after people who beat their kids and actually neglect them? UGHHHHH

Anyway that is all for now...I have yet to upload the pictures....one of these days.

Oh Katie, I am so sorry to hear of your guys court problems. That really sucks. I pray that it works out for you guys. I don't know you personal but from coming on here I know you are a wonderful mom and so is Dustin (a wonderful dad). It just sucks that the people that really do neglect and abuse their kids get away with it and the ones that are good parents get drug through the mud for no reason!

So has he gone to trial then?

The LandLord would possibly make a good witness upon the evil neighbors who caused all this.
I watch a few court shows now and then along with crime shows at night.

6-17-09 Well hello! Its been a while! A Big Happy Belated Birthday to Evan and Happy 17th Birthday to Aunt Kayla!
A lot has happened since the last time I updated. I will have to see if I can even remember it all...bare with me here. haha.

In the beginning of May we started our summer with Elijah getting 25 stitches in his groin area. It was a huge fight. He was freaking out, they had to use 5 sedations and we still had two nurses and Dustin and I holding him down while the doctor stitched him up. I hope that doesn't happen again! He was trying to do a stunt off of the porch with his bike and the handle bar went into his upper thigh. Shortly after...or before I can't even remember now he got the influenza A and had to be tested for swine flu, that was a big fight too, I wouldn't want those big q-tips going down my nose either! The test came back negative so that was good, we were quarantined to the house for a few days because of the possibility of him spreading the sickness.
We got chicks right after Elijah got his stitches, he thought that was really cool! They are getting pretty big now, Dustin has finished the chicken coop and we can't wait for them to start laying eggs for us, that should happen in a few months.
Emelia was dedicated at our church on May 10th on Mothers Day. That was exciting I still can't believe she is 7 months already!
Elijah had his preschool graduation on May 19th and he passes to his next year class, we aren't starting Kindergarten next year we are going to wait till he is almost 6. We are going to do some working with him this year though at home and see how things go.
The neighbors I talked about in my last note have been kicked out! THANK GOODNESS!! It wasn't without a fight though, which was a big mess and still is somewhat. They hit Dustin's car and didn't have insurance or weren't licensed so there was nothing we could do about it. Then I called their landlord and told them about all the things had been going on and he said he was glad I let him know and the next day they were moving their stuff, so apparently he wasn't too happy about it. I have been talking to him since while he has been fixing the house up for the next renters and he said the house was a MESS, and he was glad he found out before things got worse. But they knew it was us, I mean we didn't tell them, but duh, who else would have called sooo they got us back..it wasn't very nice or pretty but they did it.
The day we were leaving to go camping Evan snuck out of the gate while Dustin was getting something out of his car to pack into the van. Dustin was packing the van and I was packing things inside and taking care of Mila. Evan went down to the ex neighbors new house, YES they only moved down the street! UGH! Not even out of the neighborhood. I really don't know why Evan did it, he has never left before they always stay close to home, but for whatever reason he went down there and they called the cops on us and after we realized Evan was gone probably about 5 minutes later of Dustin unlocking the gate, Dustin went to go look for him around the block and I was looking around our house. Dustin found him down the street at the neighbors new house and he showed up the same time the cops did. And the neighbors said they didn't know who Evan was (So nice of them to lie) and Dustin got a ticket for child neglect. The whole thing is ridicules! I mean yes he snuck out but who doesn't misplace their child at least once in their lives. We can't even make mistakes as parents without getting in trouble for it. So that led to CPS (child protective services) coming over to the house. UGH talk about stress. I was keeping the house in tip top shape for days until they showed up. I was so stressed out. Anyway they did their long interview and she left saying She didn't have any concerns....well I hope not we are good parents! So now Dustin has a court date in late June and we are just praying all goes well and the judge is in a good mood that day....AHH so much stress. Dustin has been out of town, surprise, and he will be back for court and then over the 4th so that will be nice.

So after that night we got off to camping a late start and I was all frazzled, I didn't know what was going to happen...(We know some people through friends that have had their kids permanently taken away), this state is so strict. Their situation was different but none the less they have their parental rights revoked and they are in jail.
Camping was a lot of fun though and after the first night we were able to relax a little more. We bought a bike rack and we brought all our bikes camping and that was a lot of fun. Emelia rode in the carrier while we all rode. It was too cute. We went swimming and fishing and did the typical camping things. The boys LOVE camping, so hopefully we will get to go again this summer. It really wasn't too much harder with another child. HAHA, like they say, what's one more!?

I think all the stress of CPS and Dustin being out of town made me sick. I was just totally exhausted. I got strep throat last week, I have never had that, wow NOT fun! Now I think I have thrush, whatever it is it hurts sooo bad to nurse. Its not mastitis cause I have had that already and that was different pain, this is just one area of my boob. Anyway that is all TMI. =)

Elijah and Evan have been playing T-Ball and Evan who wanted to play soo bad played one inning of outfield and one inning of infield and he was done. They only do two innings of each anyway but he was totally done, playing in the trees. Oh bother. Elijah has been in swimming lessons this week and absolutely LOVES them. He went in not scared of the water but slightly afraid of back floats and going totally under. He told my mom "They made me do a back float and it freaked me out!" LOL! He is so funny. But he is "Brave and Great" as he says. He is doing so good and loves doing his bobs and blowing bubbles and swimming like a fish!

Evan ohhh, I forgot Evan can ride his bike without training wheels!!!! He did it in May before his birthday, so he was only two years old! We couldn't even believe it! He was begging and begging to ride Elijah's bike so Dustin said ok and took his training wheels off of his bike and Evan just took off, no help needed, he just starting riding. I had a feeling he would be able to because while we were camping he would ride his bike and his training wheels wouldn't even touch the ground for long stretches of time.
Evan's birthday was Sunday and we had a cake and just had a little family thing since Daddy came home for it. We will have a party together with Elijah's sometime in August. He was very excited though, he got a tricycle from Dustin and I and he went and picked it out with Daddy at the tractor store (Tractor Supply, their favorite store ever, they beg to go there). And he loves it!

Emelia started solids. That was a mess too, (I am waiting for a break from stuff happening non stop around here!) She ate bananas and then didn't poop for 7 days and was getting so cranky. We almost had to take her in but the doc told us to do pear juice (she said that is better than prune juice...news to me) And then I had to give her an enema, oh she did NOT like that! But it did the job two blow outs later and she is back to normal. I took a break from food for a week to get her back to normal and have watered her food down more since then. I have never done home made food before so oops, that was my fault.
She is not quite sitting up by herself. I am not too worried since she isn't on the floor too often. She is just a little bit trying to scoot around the room. She can defiantly roll around to where she needs to get but she scoots around to turn and face other directions too. She is getting so big!!!

I hope to keep up better here soon, hopefully things will slow down!
Katie

P.S.  Pictures to come tomorrow, I will try!! There are a ton to update, as to why I haven't been on I keep thinking oh there is so much to do, then the site even gets more and more behind.  But I will at least get some up tomorrow, for now I need to go to bed!

Oh my goodness--it sounds like you have had quite the summer already! I hope things calm down for you and I'm sure the court thing will all work out--stinkin neighbors!!

4-21-09 Hello! I have been meaning to get on here for a couple of days, but the days are running into each other. The boys are enjoying the great weather this week and I have even taken Emelia out a few times. I can't believe summer is almost here! Finally right?! This winter has drug itself out forever! The boys have major cabin/spring fever.

We are going to be visiting Daddy again this weekend. My cousin who lives in Tulsa is getting married, and that is where Dustin is working so we will be visiting him and going to the wedding. The hotel we will be staying at has a pool and the boys starting jumping up and down sooo excited tonight when I told them. The are sleeping in their new swimming trunks Auntie Amber got them for their birthdays last year cause they were too excited to take them off...that's the least of my battles right!? I don't care what they sleep in as long as they sleep!

We got the garden planted last week while Dustin was home for a few days, hopefully it doesn't frost again. Sad I am saying that and its almost May!! But we are still having some pretty cold nights here. He had to put up a stronger gate this year to keep the neighbors out...we are having problems with them and are at a lose as what to do! We bought a lock to keep them out of our yard but they climb the fence and their mom throws them over the gate...umm hello that is why we have the lock!! Hopefully that will keep everyone out of the garden. Besides that they are a bad influence to Elijah, swearing, MAJOR attitudes and throwing fits all the time. It is rubbing off on him and we are having problems here at home now. We can't just up and move, but we also can't keep him away from them ALL the time cause they live next door and every time the boys go out, there they are. Any advice is WELCOME!!! I may have to leave everyday which is kind of annoying...why can't I just let my boys go play in our own backyard without annoyance....maybe a huge privacy fence around our whole house!? =) Dustin being out of town I am sure isn't helping because I am always mentally exhausted and don't have any help parenting and probably don't follow through as much as I should be. There are good days and bad ones.

Emelia is doing good, still nursing away!  She is an eating machine and getting to be "chubbs!"  That is what we have been calling her.  She loves her milkies.  She is rolling over, the few times she is put on the floor, and is laughing and talking away.  I can't believe she is almost 6 months!! Holy Cow my baby is getting too big too fast!  And she has teeth!  She got her first tooth about a month ago and the next ones just keep coming, I don't remember the boys getting them this early!

A friend and I started an ICAN (International Cesarean Awareness Network) chapter here in Omaha.  I am pretty excited about it.  Of course at first anything organization you set up takes some work, but there are lots of chapters (400+) within the US and we are all able to talk on a forum, so there is lots of great advice on what topics to do and how to get started, our first meeting is May 5th, so YAY and EEK I am a little nervous.

Alrighty off to bed, the boys are sleeping together and they are actually sleeping so that is fantastic!!

Katie

3-13-09  Happy 4 months Mila!  You are growing so fast baby girl!

Emelia is doing much better, her fever has gone down and she had her 4 month check up today and is looking great!  Happy as can be.  She is growing and developing on schedule and is perfect!

My 4 month old Baby girl!

3-11-09 I added my VBAC montage on the front page. I haven't added it before, but thought if I can help one more person who happens to see it here to do their research on birth to avoid the many unnecessary cesareans there are in the United States then I want to post it!

My story: http://vba2c.webs.com/

On a side note, Emelia has a fever and is throwing up today, aww poor baby it breaks my heart when she just cries and I can't fix it. I did give her some Tylenol this morning, it all came back up but again so I gave her some more about 20 minutes ago this time it stayed down and she is sleeping already so it must be working. Evan had this sickness last week and we were at my Aunts house and my cousin had this sickness too so I am not surprised she has it, I was just hoping she wouldn't get it through her higher immune system from nursing. I am just thankful Dustin is in town this time so when he gets home from work I will have help catching up since I have been pretty much holding Emelia all day.

It's so cold!  Where did this cold front come from?!  GO AWAY!  lol.  We were having pretty nice weather and all the sudden this (hopefully last) cold comes from out of nowhere.  Low of 8 high of 20.  Not my cup of tea when we were blessed with the wonderfulness of high 60's last week!  It looks sunny outside so Elijah keeps asking to go out but he doesn't know what is beyond the front door!  Hopefully soon we will get our nice weather again.  I don't like the Spring tease, I am ready to garden!

More later!

I hope Emelia gets to feeling better soon. This stuff going around is nasty. I'm with you it needs to warm up and stay that way. I'm tired of the cold Idaho Winter.

3-9-09 Finally an update! We have been very busy and I just don't know how those of you with 3 or more children continue to update your sites often!

Emelia is 3 months! Actually she is almost 4 months in a couple of days but we finally got her in to take pictures the other day and I think they turned out pretty good, she wasn't into smiling much at the time but they still turned out pretty cute. She is doing very well, no major sicknesses or anything to report. She rolled over about a week ago from back to front, usually I think its the other way around first but she isn't much for wanting to be on her tummy yet, let alone the floor! They boys aren't very careful about where they are walking so she doesn't get put on the floor often. Emelia is talking up a storm and growing way too fast! How 4 months have already gone by since she was born is crazy. It feels like yesterday I was still pregnant with her, and now he is almost half way to one! I am really loving dressing her up in dresses and bows lately. We didn't do much of those in the winter cause it was just too cold but now that it's warming up I have been getting all her summer dresses out and I made a few bows the other day and she is just my little play doll! haha =)

The boys are doing pretty good. With Spring coming we have spring fever and have been playing outside as much as we can, but oh the muddy mess is craziness! Our backyard is a mud hole since the garden area doesn't have grass and with them running around so much areas of the backyard have turned to mud. Most of the time they come in and go straight to the tub!

Last week we went down the see Dustin in Tulsa, since he has been working down there, and Elijah asked only an hour outside of our city if we were almost there yet, I had to laugh but it took about 8 hours to get there. Normally it would take me about 6 or so hours (my Aunt lives there so it made for a free stay and time to visit with family!) but with the boys and Emelia eating and wanting out of her seat every 2 hours or so it took an extra 2 hours and on the way home it actually took almost three extra hours, but it wasn't too bad. Dustin is currently home for the week so we are playing catch up and fix everything that breaks while he is gone! LOL It never fails when he leaves, something breaks and he has a list of things to fix when he gets back. This past time was my fault, as when we went to visit him I left the heat off on accident because it had been nice the day we left and while we were gone it snowed and got pretty cold so lots of things were frozen when I got back with the boys and it was 45 degrees in the house. Luckily Dustin cam home two days later and my dad is always here to help! But it turned out things weren't as bad as it could have been so lesson learned! I could have froze pipes and broke them, its a good thing we came home when we did....and poor kitties they were cold! But I could tell they had made little nests under my comforter in my bed and in Evan's bed, so I think they stayed warm.

Dustin goes back out of town next Monday and we aren't sure for how long probably a month or two.  When he gets back we are excited to start our vegetable garden and get the seedlings planted.  Today we started them indoors in a little tray, the boys each planted some flowers in cups also and are excited to watch them grow everyday and transplant them outside when it gets warm enough.

Well that is about all for now, hopefully I can update more often.  It's just a little crazy sometimes I feel like if they are fed and clean we are good! lol.

Katie

1-19-09 Well Hello and Happy 2009! We are doing pretty good. We have a case of the stomach bug that is going around so the boys have raw rears, but other than that and all the laundry that goes with it we are good. ;)

Emelia is doing great, I can't believe she is already 2 months old! Time goes by so quickly with them. She is a nursing champ...too much so! I can't get her to take a bottle for anything. She wants nothing to do with anything that is not her Mama. EEEK! We have bought and tried about 4 different bottles/nipples and she doesn't want them. The latest is a newer bottle that is shaped more like a boob the Adiri Bottle
. She took an ounce from that and we are trying everyday to get her to take it but she has starting biting me because that is what she does to the bottle. OUCH! Dustin's work party is in February so that is the only reason I would like her to take a bottle, because if she doesn't that could be interesting for my sister who is going to baby-sit. Screaming baby!
Emelia has been cooing and trying to talk to us and smiling lots she is so cute and is such a joy to us. She still is our easiest baby and that is great! Very happy unless she is hungry or poopy so we can't complain and she gave me a 7 hour stretch of sleep two nights in a row so that is great! Hopefully she keeps that up! She hasn't rolled over yet, but she hasn't really had the chance too. I think she has laid on the ground twice so far, haha but if I put her on the floor it may be hazardess to her health. The boys would probably jump on her without realizing it.

The boys are having MAJOR cabin fever and have been bouncing off the walls. We can't wait for SPRING! Dustin was just saying this today. Please come soon nice weather! You would think our living room was a WWF tournament some days. They are bouncing off the walls wrestling each other. Its craziness!!

We had a great Christmas and enjoyed getting together with lots of family from out of town. The boys loved all their gifts and have been playing with them lots. We went to my Aunts house for Christmas and New Years and they have lots of things to do there so it was a lot of fun. Elijah really likes to watch my cousin Drew (in high school) play the drums and acts like him at home all the time. He even tries to dress like him, its pretty funny.

I hope everyone has had a good beginning to this year and Happy Valentines Day!

Katie

12-22-08  Hello!  Its been a while.  We are doing well, finally getting used to three children.  Getting ready for christmas and the boys are so excited!! 4 more sleeps!!  Elijah is counting down the sleeps til Santa comes.  Emelia is 5 weeks already!  I can't believe it, its going by too quickly.  She is sleeping a lot better at night now.  Her nights and days were mixed up for about the first 2 weeks.  Now she is waking up about twice a night, which isn't bad.  I can handle that!  The boys have loved playing outside in the snow!  They have gone out a few times this week, when its not windy.  With the wind chill about -12 some of these days its just too cold.  Saturday Dustin and I got them all bundled up, of course I didnt make it out there to take pictures, I was inside with Mila and she was hungry! =)  But they were so cute!  They went out to shovel ice and snow...yes it was iceing here.  They had on their snow pants and coat, boots, hats, mittens, scarves, all you could see were little eyes peeking out.  But they did good, they played outside with daddy and a few neighbor kids for at least an hour so they must have been warm enough!  Elijah wants to go sledding so bad...Grandma I believe is getting him a sled for Christmas so he will be THRILLED to take that out to good use.  If not just pulling Evan around the yard. =)
I have all my Christmas shopping done, I waited til the last minute of course this year since Emelia came late and all that fun stuff so I got that done this past week and tonight we made Christmas cookies and candies with the boys.  They thought that was great, dipping the pretzel sticks in the chocolate and putting sprinkles on them...once again no camera...GRR!

I hope everyone is staying warm and doing well and ready for Christmas!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!
I can't believe its almost 2009!

Katie

11-25-08 Well Emelia is nearly two weeks old! I don't know where those two crazy weeks went but they have passed. Life with three kids is QUITE the handful. We are SO thankful for all who have brought meals to us these last two weeks and continue to bring meals over the next couple weeks. I don't know how I would be making dinner in this craziness. Trying to keep on top of the normal things is a huge challenge right now! I am on my last load of laundry today to be completely caught up before we go out of town to Meme's house and make a ton more. haha. Nursing is going great, while it makes for a disaster of a house I know its best for Emelia and the house chores can wait. She likes to eat so I am often sitting on the couch thinking of the million things that need to be done while she falls asleep constantly at "the boob". TMI maybe...sorry. Any ideas for keeping them awake!? We have tried the basics, undressing etc.

Evan has been a tornado on wheels. WOW he has been into EVERYTHING and takes advantage of my not being able to discipline him immediately while nursing. Elijah has been a pretty good helper lately especially with Evan, he tells me when Evan is getting into things he isn't supposed to be getting into. While some think that is tattling I think its keeping me sane. =) They have both been throwing more tantrums, but I hope 'this too will pass'. Elijah had his Thanksgiving meal today at pre-school and had a great time eating chicken nuggets and learning about pilgrims and about our country. He told me today "Momma we live in a country" It's so fun to watch him learn and grow.

Emelia is great and Thank the Lord she is our easiest baby by far. She only cries when she wants to eat and then falls right back asleep. I hope she continues to be so laid back, its a blessing!

That is about it for now, back to packing and getting ready for Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!

Katie

Katie I felt like I was always feeding Tyrel when he was a baby and my doctor told me to let him cry for a bit before running in to feed him. I think I over feed him just because i thought when he cried he needed to be feed and I nursed him until he was nine months old. Hang in there it does get better!!

11-13-08 Emelia is here!!! She was born at 3:27am on November 13 weighing 8lbs 15 oz. Same as Evan, and was 21 inches long. It was an exhausting labor, I have been up since 11-11-08 at 3pm, and now its 5am on the 13th, 38 hours! I am so tired I don't even know what I am saying. LOL

Guess what I did it!!!!!! I VBA2C!!!!!! I can't even believe it. Our plan was a homebirth as is why I was on the computer at 6cm, but I stalled at 7cm at home because of being so tired and exhausted. We transferred to the hospital which was a HUGE mess, they were asking questions left and right about why I didn't have a doctor after 7 months and it was a disaster in the midst of me contraction literally right on top of each other. I wanted an epidural so I could relax in hopes of progressing and they took forever cause a ton of people were in and out and they said it was against hospital policy to have a VBA2C. Legally they can't deny me so they kept telling me about the risks of dying etc etc and making it as horrid as possible to scare me into a c-section and I have done my research so I knew it was safe. So we went through with it being constantly reminded of the risk factors. And I stood my ground, I was one cranky preggo! Finally the epidural came and the guy couldn't get it in, for 30 minutes my contractions were not stopping I was to the point of crying. He gave up and a women got it in, in about 5-10 minutes. After that I slept for about 1-2 hours when my epidural stopped working and I started shaking like mad and got SUPER pushy. She moved down quickly and I pushed for 35 minutes and out she came!!! I couldn't even believe it! It hurt like CRAZY!! She pooped in utero so they took her away to the NICU and came back about 20 minutes later fine and healthy! I had a 3rd degree tear up inside, and that took them about 1 hour to sew up it and was quite painful.

But despite all the craziness it was SOOO worth it! I did it! I beat the odds and will be able to run around after Elijah and Evan and take care of Emelia without a surgery.

I will upload pictures in a bit, I am so tired and I need to nurse Emelia. Thanks for all the support and prayers we are so thankful!!!

Katie

11-12-08  Yes, we are in labor!!!  Finally!  12:10pm I am at 6cm  100% effaced, just working baby down, she should be here soon!!

11-10-08 Alrighty so the mw came again tonight. I was a full 3cm this time so YAY! And baby moved down even a little more, she said she could feel babies head right there like a wall still about a -1 station. She gave me a good sweep. (And YA I felt that, it hurt a little, but its all worth it!) She said on Saturday she wasn't able to give a really good one as baby was still a little higher. I had a little bit of a buldging bag on the side of babies head which can/could be why its taking a little longer cause the water bag wont put pressure on my cervix like the babies head will. Slowly I am getting there at least!! It will happen eventually!  Hopefully by the weekend!!
At least when I go into labor I have 3cm and 100% effaced behind me I dont have to do that work, so that is the positive to Miss Emelia waiting...my labor "shouldn't" be as long.  Lets hope!

11-9-08  I changed my tickers to my due date the midwife gave me a while back based on when I ovulated not on an U/S so people don't think I am going crazy over due.  So Nov 3 is the due date.  Hopefully things will start soon!  I have been having BH and some contractions off and on, so hopefully things will even out and become a pattern.

Thanks for all the encouragement!! We are anxiously waiting and super excited!!

Katie

11-8-08 YAY!!! Good News! I could have done a happy dance!

The midwife just came, I was dilated to a 2-3. Not quite a whole 3. 100% effaced. And baby moved down to a -1 station!!

I was able to get the sweep, so hopefully that will get things moving. She said she will come over again on Monday night if I need another sweep, so YAY! She thinks it will be within the next couple of days, obviously this is just her guess but I sure hope its right!
And I was happy to find out if I do hit 42 weeks she isn't going to make me go into the hospital to be induced. I will have to go get a NST, but if that comes back fine she won't make me stay to be induced, I can wait a little longer! Which I REALLY don't want to wait, that's no fun but being induced or even going to the hospital increases my chances of them saying, "Oh we are just going to do another c-section".  I know you are all thinking I am crazy, but I am really trying to avoid another c-section and have this baby naturally without pit, drugs or any interventions leading to a c-section.  Pit increases the c-section rate as does the epi a lot so I am doing everything in my power to have this baby without all that.

So good news all around. I am in much better spirits now, holy cow I was thinking I may NEVER dilate!

Hopefully soon right!?  LOL

11-5-08  Hello!  I am past all dates on my guessing game..sad! LOL  Well I have hopes I am making some progress.  Last night I was having weird feelings and pains in my nether region kinda like stabbing pains and went to the bathroom and felt like a pop down there when I was going potty, but no gush or plug that I saw.  So I don't think it was my water, I am not leaking or anything.  But maybe my cervix is finally ripening!?  I HOPE so!  I was having lots of BH's yesterday and she was moving a lot last night.  Maybe getting situated?  I can only hope!

Here's to hoping my next update with be about HAVING a baby!

Katie

11-3-08  Just checking in.  No baby yet!  Not much to report for contractions either. :(  I did the nasty castor oil Saturday night and while I was having a good amount of contractions through out the night from it, they stopped in the morning.  Aparently she was not ready to come out.  And for those who are asking we don't have an induction date set.  I have two weeks to go over and after that we will talk medical induction...so hopefully she will come before the 15th-ish!  In the mean time we are trying natural ways to get her to come out.  Hopefully she will make up her mind to come soon!  I had a spicy lunch today, maybe that will get the ball rolling??  I guess we will see.

Katie

11-1-08  I just had my mw appt and NOTHING!  Well I havent dialated any.  CRAZY.  I am still 1cm, but she said way super soft.  Like a roasted marshmellow, Pretty much 90-100% effaced.  Just waiting for baby to put pressure on my cervix to get things going.  She couldn't strip my membranes because I wasn't dialated enough, so not much we can do about that.  I just have to keep doing my squats and stuff to get her to move down.  Once she starts moving down hopefully that will get things going.

Sooo it could be a while...just thought I would let you know.  Oh dear!
Katie

11-1-08  Well I guess Miss Emelia wants to be a November baby.  I can't believe I am still pregnant!  I thought forsure she would be here by now...aparently she has her own plans.  Hopefully todays midwife appt will do something for me!

The boys had lots of fun trick or treating last night.  Aunt Kylie surprised us with coming home for the weekend from college (in hopes of a baby girl arriving!) and to see everyone.  So she came trick or treating with us.  We made it half way around the block and I had to go to the bathroom. LOL so we came back and Daddy took them the rest of the way while I passed out candy.  I am getting uncomfortable enough that I didn't want to go far.  Then Elijah sat on the porch the rest of the night and handed out candy to the other kids.  He thought that was better than trick or treating!  He kept yelling at the kids to come to our house to get candy.  LOL  One kid came twice and he said "You already came here!!" haha.  He was caught.  Then he kept saying "I am handing out the candy like a good boy!"  He must have been doing some good cause we ran out of candy at 8:15 and we had 5 big bags of it!...of course I think nearly a bag of it was eaten by Daddy this week. hehe.  So we turned off the porch light and the boys were worn out and ready for bed already, it was nice!

Hopefully I will have more to update later!  I guess we will see!  Off to hide every morsel of candy from Evan before he wakes up...he is a candy FEEN!

10-30-08  Happy Due Date to me!!  I only hoped I wouldn't see this day without a baby...but I am here and still Emelia thinks it is quite comfy inside!  Hopefully sometime soon she will decide to arrive.  No major contractions and no loss of plug even so it could be a while.  I have to get Elijah's snacks ready for his preschool Halloween party today so I don't have a lot of update, just letting you know we are still waiting!
I have made a cute PINK background and everything just waiting to add a picture of her and then its ready to be posted.  So COME ON GIRLY!!! I think I am in need of some labor vibes...she isn't getting the picture! haha.

10-28-08  Well it looks as though we have a stubborn little girl in there!  She doesn't want to come out!  I had an appt on Saturday with the midwife and all is well.  I didn't get a check for dialation because at this point it doesn't matter if she wants to come out she will! ;)  By this coming Saturday if she isn't here yet, we may do a sweep of the membranes, and hopefully that will get things going.  I have a feeling I will make it to Saturday.  She just seems very ok with being inside of me, she knows how COLD it got here all of the sudden and doesn't want anything to do with that!! As I type its only 28 degrees outside, its only 6am but still, this weather came upon us quickly!

I have a cold now too so I am ok with being pregnant till it goes away, I can't breath through my nose, I have a sinus headache, and my throat is a little sore.  Luckily I am the only one so far to have it, I am trying to keep it that way, washing my hands so often they are getting dry.

The boys loved the Gifford Farm and saw lots of animals and wanted to stay all day.  Evan is a candy FEEN.  He was trying to eat it all WHILE they were handing it out at each station.  He is just nuts for candy.  He got ahold of his bag and ate all his and now is working on Elijahs.  I am afraid for Halloween, we may not be going to too many houses for the sake of not having a lot of candy!

We still are somewhat planning to go to the Pumpkin Patch...slowly running out of time but the winds came on Sunday when we were going to go and it was just too cold to go, then a tree blew down in the neighborhood and took out some power lines and we were without power most of Sunday.  Luckily we got it back at about 7:30pm, just in time for bed cause it would have been a cold night without the heat on.  So we may go tonight or Thursday night, who knows....  Wednesday we have AWANA Fall Festival for the boys so we will see.  This all depends on if Emelia decides to make her debut too.

Alrighty...maybe next time I will have an update of bebe.  She is quite comfy though, I have a feeling we will be moving into November with her!

10-23-08  39 weeks!  I can't believe it!!  That went super fast yet slow at times too.  We have plans this weekend to go to Gifford Farm and the Pumpkin patch, so since we have plans in place, maybe I will go into labor!?  I don't know but I am ready!  Not much to update, still having cramps but nothing has come of them yet.  I ran into the store last night because it was pouring rain, and wow, since then I have felt like I was kicked in the hooha!  I felt that like before a little but that just intensified it!  I went out tonight to get the rest of the boys' costume for Halloween.  They are going to be cowboys, and are super excited about it!  I found some guns that go on their belts and got another cowboy hat for Evan.  They think its just great!...Who knew little boys loved guns so much!?!?  lol.

Thats about all for now.  Hopefully soon we will have a baby girl here!

10-21-08  Well the zoo wiped the boys and I out! We came home and took naps and I wondered if I was getting out of bed after that. haha.  I was so sore and my back ached from all that walking!  Of course the night before I went into my nesting urges, I think I posted about that a little, and cleaned all the carpets and the house and between that and the zoo I was in pain.  Last night I was having contractions through out the night, but nothing timeable I dont think??  I was so tired I would half awake breath through them then fall back asleep.  So I dont know how far apart or how strong they really were.  I am still having them, but nothing close to timeable.  Maybe one an hour sometimes.  I hope sometime soon they become regular!  I hear you can have prodromal (start/stop) labor for days/weeks.  So who knows!

I have to share a story from the zoo so I have it typed out and can write it in Evan's baby book later.  We were going through the new Butterfly exhibit, and when you first walk in they give you a little lecture about the new place and tell you to be carefull where you walk because sometimes the butterflies land on the ground and we wouldn't want to step on them.  And to not pick the flowers and leaves.  Basically just look!  Then on your way out you go into a mirror room to check to see if any butterflies have landed on you so you don't let them out.  So we get about 10 steps inside and I see a butterfly land on the ground I say ok boys lets walk around the butterfly and Evan breaks free from my hold and runs over to the butterfly and says "BUG!!!"  And STOMPS on it!  OMG I was horrified.  These old people walking next to us look at me like I am the worlds worst mother and say "How dare he, He's not supposed to do that!"  I reply "I know....he's two."  So I grab the boys to get out of there as fast as we can and on the way toward the door Evan's sees another "bug" (butterfly) on a flower and kicks it.  It tumbles in the air and luckily flies away.  I am saying "EVAN, NO!"  Then we get to the doors and I am like "No we don't have any butterflies on us!!"  (They wouldn't want to be with us! LOL) And we get OUT!
Evan loves bugs...but he also loves to kill them.  So I don't suppose we will be going in that exhibit anymore!  At home we always tell him to kill the crickets cause we only have a MILLION around here so he probably thinks he needs to kill every bug he sees.  =)

On a different subject of funny things kids say Elijah yesterday tells me "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy"
"What Elijah?"
"Mommy, let's get Daddy a bed so I can sleep with you all the time!"

LOL, He is too funny.  We still have problems getting him to stay in his own bed and have about tried everything.  I keep telling him he is going to have to stay in his bed when his sister comes becuase she is going to be with me when I am nursing and he seems to think getting Daddy his own bed will solve that problem!

Oh dear....more later! =)

10-19-08 Still here still preggo! I have been meaning to update but have been having some problems with my host site. Anyone use EasyCGI and understand the new format!? HELP!

We are doing good. Baby is good. I am ready for her to come out! We have been walking every day to try to get things moving. I had an appt with my midwife and things are good. I am measuring 40 weeks and she is head down and engaged!! Woohoo! When getting checked she could feel her head! I am still only 1cm but am 90% effaced and very soft, so when I go I should go. Hopefully sooner than later!!! I have been having contractions and thought I was in labor the other day but nada, they stopped after a while...got to love that! So we just wait. Dustin is back from being out of town, and I am officially on maternity leave from daycare so I am READY!

Tomorrow we are going to the zoo for probably the last "nice" day of the year. It has been pretty cold but today was 72 and tomorrow is supposed to be 65 and after that its all 40's and 50's. So we are going to walk the whole zoo....maybe =) and see if we can get her to move down more to get me into labor.

Elijah and Evan are so excited and ask all the time when we are going to see baby Mila. (That is what they call her) Elijah told me "Mommy, Mommy, I am going to change Mila's diaper and you can change Evan's diaper!" LOL He is so sweet and can't wait to be a big brother again, he gets so excited.

Evan has just exploded in the last two weeks with his vocab. He is just talking up a storm with full sentences and has LOTS to say to us. He is much happier being able to communicate with us. He too is ready for baby and when you ask him where his sister is he pulls up my shirt and points to my belly, then kisses it. He has been getting his baby doll, yes we have dolls! LOL I had some little girls in daycare for a while and they needed girl toys. =) So he gets his baby and puts it in the swing, and holds her and feeds her bottles.

We are planning to go to the pumpkin patch this coming weekend so long as I am not in labor and baby is not here yet. They can't wait. The place has so much to do you have to go by 2pm to get to everything before it gets dark. So hopefully we will make it there for the boys. Either way I am sure they will get there somehow. And I have been nesting again, tonight. For a while I was just so tired of cleaning because I was doing it every night that I gave up and took a rest from doing it ALL the time because it was a waste of my time. Now that I am getting a little closer and daycare is done, hopefully it will stay cleaner longer??? LOL. I cleaned the carpets tonight. That is always a fun task, but when its done, it just looks SO much better! Now I need to make way to the kitchen which looks like a train wreck cause Dustin picked what we think will be the last produce of the season since its getting cold. But there was so much and our freezers are soo full we are out of room. I have made some frozen meals too so I don't have to worry about cooking right away after Emelia is born, so the freezers are full to the max and I don't know what we are going to do with all these tomatoes! LOL.

Ahh I am rambling so I will get back to my cleaning! Send me some labor vibes!! ;)

Katie

10-9-08  We are in the final stretch!!  37 weeks!  Yay for being term!  She can come any time now.  As much as I would love to go into labor I hope its not till next weekend because Dustin is going out of town next week again, but will drive back if he has to.  October 18th sounds good to me!!  That is my sisters birthday and Dustin will be here. =) However I won't be surprised if we go to our due date.
Emelia is doing well, she has dropped a little and is engaged.  My belly was measuring smaller last week, probably cause she has dropped.  Otherwise all is well.  I have my list of things to do done now and we are ready!  Elijah is getting excited and asks everyday if she is coming yet.  I have been having contractions off and on but again nothing that is staying put.  Hopefully soon.  I start maternity leave (from daycare) on the 17th.  I did just realize I haven't even really thought about let alone started my birth announcments!  With the boys I was done with them by half way through my pregnancy.  AHHH I just realized that last night.  I am sure I will think of something!  Maybe something going out with the Christmas letters...hehe.

Two weeks ago my MOPS group had a surprise baby shower for me, it was great!  I had NO idea and thought it was just a leaders meeting.  So we recieved wonderful things there and then my friend had a baby shower for me last Saturday and we got more girl clothes, SHE IS SET for 0-6 months and has a great start on 6-12 months.  Exciting!!!  Little girl clothes are so cute!

That is about all for now, I hope to update sooner than later with news!

Katie
