Megan is talking more and now has 7 teeth. She clearly says yep and shakes her head no.She is very cuddly when she is awake, but unlike Evan doesn't really want to cuddle in bed.Aside from teething, she sleeps pretty well.Bedtime is still easy, but she does wake up at least once at night. Her hair is getting really long and hangs in...

August 26—Megan is still amazingly easy to put to bed at night, most of the time. She knows the routine and usually plays along. One of her favorite parts is brushing her teeth. She loves to do it herself and I usually sing to her about it, which she loves. Getting her to let go of the toothbrush was a challenge, u...

July 3-- Evanism of the day-- When I told him that today was a holiday from Preschool, he really thought about it.  This morning on my way out the door I told him to have a fun holiday with Daddy and he told me that we had to celebrate.  I asked him how he would celebrate Independance Day and he said, "With stickers, of course."  Of ...

June 11- Megan is one today!   She is so amazing.   In the past few weeks she has really gotten the hang of walking and has progressed to running.   She does fall down a lot more than before, but can really move.    She is very good at expressing when she doesn't want something.   She shakes her head no in response to a direct ...

May 29-Megan finally has teeth.   I think the first one popped through last Friday and she got a second on last night.   She is walking very well and is very frustrated when we try to contain her.  She is communicating pretty well, including shaking her head no when she does not want something we are offering her.   She is eating bett...

5/16/2009 - Evan is constantly saying strange, funny, amazing, interesting or surprisingly insightful things, and they just don't get captured on this site because by the time we sit down to write them up, we can't remember what they are. We stare at the computer screen and say, "It was hilarious! But what the heck was it?" But not this t...

Here's Evan in his Melificent Dragon costume--it's the black dragon that the villainess from Disney's Sleeping Beauty turns into at the end of the movie.

And here's Megan in her fairy princess custome before trick-or-treating. Every previous time she wore it, she cried and cried, so we were very happy and surprised that she was happy to wear it on Halloween.

Here's everyone in their costumes right before heading out to trick-or-treat. Melissa may or may not kill me for puttinig up a picture with her in it. If you don't see any updates to this site after tomorrow, you'll know she did me in.

Evan after a visit to the dentist. I can't say I'm really pleased with the tooth reshaping job the dentist did; I wish he'd asked me first...

Evan actually had two costumes, and he wore this Batman costume to the school Halloween party the day before trick-or-trating.

Another shot of Evan enjoying the batman costume.

Evan made this frame at preschool, and we thought, why frame a picture of the kid, when we can just go ahead and frame the kid.

We also tried to frame Megan, but the problem was...

...she's just so cute that we couldn't settle on just one picture!

Mark you calendars! It's picture that actually has me in it! They actually let me in one of the shots!

This is one of the professional Sears portraits from when Evan had turned 4 and Megan had turned 1. Aren't they cute!

Family portrait.

She looks so grown up....and, strangely, like she's about to do the hula.

Evan has been impressing us lately with the wonderful artwork he's been bringing home from school and drawing on his Magnadoodle. This is a picture Evan drew of his whole family. Megan is on the left, holding Evan's hand; Melissa and I are on the right. (5/25)

Here's another picture Evan drew of his family. Megan's the little tiny green person; Evan is the medium size person next to her, then Melissa is the smiling big person, and I am the frowning big person (though I don't know why he chose to make me frowning). Evan brought this home from school, and when he showed it to us, he became very upset when he realized he'd forget to give everyone arms! Note the red heart near the left; Evan says that's a valentine for Mommy!

Here's an elaborate picture Evan drew of a "Brick Girl". He just kept adding more arms, and legs, and fingers, and antennae, and things called "puffers" that--according to Evan--make smoke.

What can I say to this? She's adorable! This is Megan's 9-month portraits, wearing her christening dress, and she is the cutest thing I've ever seen!

Here's the first of two poses taken for Evan's school portraits on March.

And here's the second pose. Not to brag (that's a blatant lie) but apparently our boy's so good looking that the portrait studio wants to use his picture for their ads! Maybe we can parlay this into a real modeling career. (Oh, relax, I'm just kidding.)
