Stories 12- 5 November was a busy month and we're already into December!! Thanksgiving was great....of course we ate lots of wonderful food! Carter is growing and becoming a very smiley and happy baby (most days). I started giving him some cereal- he's not sure of it, but I think he likes it:) Nolan is becoming such a big boy- potty training boot camp started this past Monday. I'm back to work full time so Ms. Laura is working really hard on potty training and Nolan's doing such a great job! Hope everyone is getting into the holiday spirit..Christmas will be her before we know it! 10-31 Happy Halloween!! We are back from our wonderful Disney trip- it was a blast! Nolan and Carter both did really well on the airplane (which was a relief!) and had a great time visiting with their cousins! The weather was gorgeous and we had a great time swimming and visiting the parks:) Today, Nolan is all excited to get dressed up like his favorite character, Mickey Mouse, and go trick-or-treating around our old neighborhood. Carter is dressing up like a pumpkin- so they should both be very cute! I will have Halloween pics soon:) 10-13-08 I've added some new pictures of the boys- they are growing so fast! Carter is 2 months old today and looking very healthy :) He loves to eat and stay awake:) Nolan loves his little brother, wanting to give him kisses and hugs as often as he can. We recently moved into a condo, so that has been an adjustment for everyone but we're very excited that we sold our house and our new one is just about to start! The family went to our lot yesterday and took pictures of the extavator- Nolan loved the big machine! Hope you enjoy the new pics! 8-30-08 We now have a new addition to the family...Carter Matthew! Carter was born on August 11, weighing in at 8 lbs. 14 oz- the same exact weight as Nolan! He is a wonderful baby and Nolan is adjusting really well to having a little brother and some competition in the house:) Carter loves to eat, sleep and poop....just like a normal baby! He is definitely an alert baby and likes to just stare at things for a while- it's really neat to see! Nolan is working on potty training- and doing really well! We're in the early stages so we have a lot more work to do, but he's excited. Nolan is my helper! he loves to get me diapers, reassure Carter everything is okay when he is crying, and loves to give Carter kisses! He's such a great big brother! 7-8-08 Happy 4th of July! We just got back from an awesome week up at Lake Charlevoix with the family. Michelle, John and the kids came up from Florida and we had a great time hanging out on the water or in our fancy cabin:) Check out the pictures from the trip...I'm still working on putting the pics in order and commenting on each one...one thing at a time:) 5-07-08 Happy 2nd Birthday Nolan!! We celbrated Nolan's 2nd birthday on Sunday and had a great time! The grandparents and Aunt Erin came over to have a "feast" and some fun play time with all the new toys. Nolan loved the homemade whip cream Grandpa Thompson made...Daddy thought it would be funny to smear it all over Nolan's face:) After Nolan found the soccer ball "EE" (aunt Erin) got him, he didn't want anything to do with his other gifts. We had to bribe him to open more...oh, to be 2 again! Nolan got tons of fun outdoor toys, and a new bike! Grandpa Fox got him a brand new bike that he loves...he says "my bike!" and tries to reach the pedals. I'm going to have fun chasing him around all summer! Thanks to everyone that got our little one toys for his birthday- he loves them all! Check out the fun birthday pictures!! 3-22 Sorry it's been a LONG time since I've updated the website...we just haven't taken a lot of pictures during this winter. Nolan is growing like a Champ...talking more and running and climbing like crazy! He still hasn't climbed out of his crib yet...it will only be weeks until he does (maybe days). We have his "Big Boy" room set up, but we're nervous to make that transtition. He's been sleeping in lately and I don't want to stop that routine...so the big bed transtition will be a little bit. Nolan's brother or sister is 20 weeks in the making..I'm getting big fast and everything seems to be going good:) Hopefully we will get some good pics of Easter and I will put them on the website before the 4th of July :) 1-11 Happy New Year!! Christmas was a blast! We got to see all of our family and lots of friends. Nolan loved ripping open the gifts and looking at his new toy for a minute...then would go back to an old toy. Christmas can be a little overwhelming, but he did well! One of his favorite toys was Hokey Pokey Elmo from Grandpa Fox...he thought that was the greatest and so did grandpa! New Year's was low key, but nice. This weekend we are off to Frankenmuth to spend some time at Splash Village. We thought we would change up the winter a bit and spend it at a waterpark. Hopefully Nolan has fun! 12-19 Christmas is almost here! We just got our first big snowfall and Nolan enjoyed his first "real" time out in the snow. He pretended to snow blow with his lawn mower (to be like daddy), he went sledding down the driveway, and he loved just hanging out in the snow! He wouldn't have gone inside if it wan't for chocolate milk...you gotta love bribes! We also went on a sleigh ride at Fountain Park Apartments. Nolan was a bit scared of the horse at first, but I think he thought it was cool. Nolan also made sugar cookies with Grandma Fox for the very first time. His favorite part...getting the flour out of the jar- what a mess that was! He sure did make some great cookies! We're looking forward to a great Christmas with our families and enjoying some time off :) We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! 11-01-07 Hello! This week has been a little crazy...but definitely fun! This past weekend we were in Florida hanging out with the Dauphiny gang. We went to a couple parks, swam in the new Daupiny pool and at the boardwalk, went to Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween Party, and ate some great food! Annabel dressed up like a beautiful princess and Simon was an astronaut, or should I say, "Commander Simon". Nolan was supposed to be a cowboy, but chose not to wear his costume. It was sad when we had to go, but hopefully we'll see everyone soon! Halloween was yesterday and lots of fun! Nolan celebrated at school with a party, I dressed up as a 3 Musketeer at school, and we passed out cider and doughnuts at night. Nolan did put on his puppy dog costume and loved seeing everyone else dressed up. I hope everyone had a great Halloween! Make sure you check out all the new pictures! 10-10-07 Wow, I had no idea it had been this long since I updated the website! Things have been going great. Nolan is getting bigger, talking more, and getting cuter by the second:) He's been getting into a little trouble at daycare and been having to sit some things out- hope this changes soon:) Nolan is saying his animal sounds and pointing out his body parts. He's very proud of his animal sounds and says them all the time! He still goes to bed around 7:00, but he's starting to want to stay up longer. In a couple weeks we'll be in Florida for our annual Disney trip- I'm sure I'll have many more pictures then. Hope all is going well with everyone!! 8-10-07
Nolan got his first "real" haircut last weekend- it looks adorable! He sat in a little car and did good for the first 4 minutes then started to get crabby. The hairdresser gave him a sucker and all was good from there...he loved that! He has a new word that he says..."dirty". I know it sounds weird, but I am always telling him things are dirty so I guess he just picked up on it. And, he also loves blowing on all the food he eats- I must make things hot! Hope all is well with everyone! 7-29-07 Hello! Well, Torch Lake was a blast! It was so fun seeing Michelle, Simon, Annabel, and Jon, and relaxing on the lake. We did a LOT of boating and eating- but all was sooo fun!! Nolan loved playing with his cousins and definitely missed them when they had to go home. Mike and I celebrated 3 years of marriage on July 23rd! To celebrate we played some golf and went out to dinner...very fun! I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their summer!!! 6-30-07 Well I finally got new pictures on the website!! Nolan is doing great! He is definitely an active boy! He is in his stubborn stage where he would rather run wild than sit still- that goes for the store, restaurant, diaper change, or anything! He is sooo cute and enjoying him mom at home. Michelle and the family arrive in MI on Wednesday and then we travel up to Torch Lake for a week of vacation. We can't wait!! I'm sure we'll have tons of great pictures to share when we get back! Happy 4th of July! 6-22 Sorry I haven't posted any pictures since Nolan's birthday! I lost my camera on Field Day at school and I was waiting for it to turn up...it never did :(. So, we have since bought another one and I'm back taking lots of adorable pictures of my little boy! School's been out for a week now and it's great being home with Nolan. Exhausting at times, but well worth it! We went to the zoo today with a neighbor of ours and it was very fun! Nolan thought the animals were great and wanted to get in the area to grab them like he does Cody. He didn't understand why he couldn't jump in with the zebras :) I will post new pictures shortly....hope eveyone's summer is going great! 5-6-07 Nolan is one year old!! We had a great time on his birthday. We started the day by getting pictures taken at Sears. Then we went grocery shopping and Nolan pushed the "mini" cart around, thinking he was a big boy! After a nap, family started arriving at 3:00. Nolan enjoyed being pushed around in my grandma's walker and playing with his granparents and auntie Erin. We ate a great dinner, sang happy birthday, and then Nolan got his very own cake. It was hilarious! He dove right in after the cake and made a huge mess....we were all laughing hysterically watching him! After I gave him a bath, Nolan came back down stairs to open all the generous gifts. He truly made out! We were all exhauseted when it was over, but well worth it! Check out all the cute pictures of our big boy :)! 4-27-07 Nolan will be one year old in just a week! He's only one, but growing up so fast. This week in daycare he no longer sleeps in a crib! They've transitioned him to the cot and he's sleeping great! Nolan's eating all kind of "real" food now and is a funny dancer:). When there's music on he spins around in a circle until he falls down- scary, but really funny! Nolan loves being outside. When it was nice out last weekend we went to Kensington park and he went in a swing for the first time. He didn't want to get out! He also loved walking around in the sand and the grass- it tickled his feet! For Nolan's birthday we're just having a small party for family. I'll make sure to update his website with fun birthday pictures!4 4-1-07 We're so glad it's April!! March wasn't the best month for our family (besides having Aunt Erin's 25th birthday!). Nolan visited the doctors every Thursday for three weeks- a string of bad luck! Nolan then shared his sickness with mom, dad, grandma Fox, and Aunt Erin! The past week was not fun with our entire house being under the weather- but we made it through! This weekend Nolan has officially started walking! He's going everywhere! Tonight he started heading for the top of our stairs- we really need to put up gates now! He's getting big and so much fun! He absolutely LOVES Cody. He runs after him trying to pull on him and cuddle. We sometimes find him grabbing Cody's toy and trying to get him to play- Nolan doesn't realize Cody's size yet! I'm sure it won't be long :) We wish everyone a wonderful Easter!! 3-11-07 Nolan continues to change each day. This morning Mike went in his room to wake him up and he was sitting up in his crib! I guess he was ready to get up and didn't want to wait for us :). He still loves to walk around holding on to one hand. When Mike and I sit on the floor about 5 ft from each other, Nolan will walk unassisted back and forth. He's to the point where he can balance himself and use his own power to get going- so great! He has about 6 teeth now and he likes to use them to bite...ouch! Hopefully we don't have a biter, but occassionally he likes to surprise me with a little chomp! Happy Birthday to our friends Katie and Sarah- hope you both have a good one! We hope everyone enjoys their week! -Renee 2-28-07 The last day of February already...wow! Mike and I just got back from our Cruise in the Caribbean- very, very fun! Our friends Beck and Ryan got engaged while we were down there- very exciting! Grandma Fox watched Nolan while we were gone- they had lots of fun together. As you can see from the pictures, Nolan is walking every chance he gets. He now runs (practically) holding on with one hand- the other hand he picks up everything in his way. He will walk (unassisted) from one person to another- but still a little rocky. He's still not a big fan of his tummy, but will roll from his back to his tummy, then push himself up to a sitting position. Nolan is hilarious when he does this because he's soooo proud of himself. After he pushes himself up he will smile and clap- soo cute! 2-6-07 Nolan turned 9 months yesterday- he's becoming a little boy! Nolan's doc appointment was yesterday and we found out he weighs 21 lb, 12 oz and is 29 3/4 in long- he's doing great! Nolan's been sick the past couple weeks with a cough and cold, but he seems to be finally coming out of it...yeah!! Our little boy is walking around the house every chance he gets (with our help)! He has a tricky little way of grabbing on to our fingers and pushing himself off our laps- before you know it your running around the house all hunched over. Nolan has started pulling himself up- just today he used Cody's ears to pull himself up...he loved it, but Cody did NOT! Oh well! I hope you enjoy the cute pictures of Nolan in his ducky bath- he starting to love bath time:) 1-24-07 Happy New Year! So far the new year has been great! Nolan just cut his top tooth yesterday and he's walking up a storm! He can't walk by himself (of course), but he loves his walker, truck, and parents to help him around :). The big question: Is he crawling? The answer is no, but he's making progress on his tummy and will move from sitting to his tummy when he wants something. We're enjoying the snow, although we really can't take Nolan out in the freezing cold- at least it looks pretty! Talk to you soon! 12-27-06 Nolan had a wonderful first Christmas. For Christmas Eve we went to Kensington and heard a wonderful Christmas message, and Nolan got to open his first presents. Santa Claus came that night and brought Nolan a new truck! His mom and dad got him a very cool piano that he loves! On Christmas day we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Thompson's house and opened MORE gifts and had a wonderful dinner with Grandma Fox, Aunt Erin, the Howards, and the Kers....very fun!! Nolan was wonderful through it all, and is sad Christmas is over. But, he's already talking about next year! We hope everyone has a wondeful New Year's Eve...see you next year!
