We welcomed our Baby Girl, Abigail Myra Jo Miller, on March 19, 2009, at 3:55pm.
Stats: 8 lbs., 5 oz., 20.5 inches
My contractions started on Tuesday at 4:18pm, and she didn't come out
until Thursday at 3:55pm - exhausting! But it was SOOO worth it. I
pushed for 2 hours because her head was not quite positioned right,
and she was a bit bigger than we thought. In the end the doctor used
the vacuum to help pull her out, but it worked really swiftly! She is
here now and that is all that matters.
I AM HUGE. At least, I feel that way. People tell me I don't look like I'm 8 months along, but I sure feel like it. Sleep has become an adventure - discovering new uncomfortable-but-better-than-the-alternatives sleeping positions, waking every 2 hours (or less!) to pee, and now the added wonder of having a nice little cold to go along with it all! Last night I dreamed about not being able to breathe and telling Joey to have the paramedics suck the mucous out of my chest with a syringe if I stopped breathing. Awesome. He says I've been watching too much House, which is probably true...
Ah, the joys of dreaming... Joey's Aunt Susan told me about how in her pregnancy she could see the distinct impression of a foot traveling across her belly. So, I had a dream last week that I saw the same thing! When I went to touch where the foot was, I grabbed it and pulled the baby right out of my stomach! She was clean, dry and cute, with a full head of dark hair. Since I'm only 5 months along, I was concerned and asked the person I was with if I should put her back, but they said, "Oh no, she's out now." Haha! I was shocked but excited that she was here early. Then I woke up and realized just how bizarre that really was....
So, we found out on October 28th that we are having a GIRL!!! :) We're totally excited - Joey's fam has multiple boys, so we are ready to buy girlie stuff! Names are being bandied about, and we're getting close, but you'll have to wait until the big day to find out...
Last night was the first night I woke up feeling so hungry that I just had to get up and eat. Probably due to the fact that Joey is out of town and my brain was not anywhere near a sleepy state at 3am. So, I got up to make myself an open-faced peanut butter sandwich. Turned on the TV, watched some show on Discovery or The Science channel, and chowed down. After eating, I rinsed my dish, brushed my teeth, and promptly threw up my snack. Awesome.
