March 17 ~ Happy St. Patricks Day! Sam & Syd are approximately 1/4 Irish. We celebrated by attending a MPPOM Social at a local park. The girls wore their special shamrock dresses that Grandma purchased for them. So cute!
February 18 ~ In the morning, we opened gifts from the party. Wow, thank you!!! I'll try to squeeze in writing thankyou notes some time soon. In the afternoon, Daddy & Grandma took Syd and Sam swimming. Mommy stayed home with some icky illness thanks to exhaustion (3 sleep disrupted nights since the shots + hosting a big birthday party = sick Mommy.)
February 16 ~ Library Storytime with Grandma and Mom. Costco in the afternoon to buy party supplies. Sam & Syd had a rough night after those shots. Awake and crying from about 3-5am.
February 15 ~ Pediatrician appt. Sam is 21.5 pounds and 29.5 inches. Syd is 22 pounds and 30 inches. Yes, Sydney is officially BIGGER than her "Big/Older" sister. Their 9 month stats were: Sam: 18 lbs12 oz, 28 1/4". Syd: 19 lbs, 27 3/4". They are both doing great. Dr is happy with their physical, verbal, motor, growth, eating, reflux, etc. He said they were "very expressive" and that Syd was "more than babbling". Sam's birthmark on her back is starting to fade (good). And her elbow birthmark is here to stay (also good). They had 3 shots (chicken pox and 2 others that I'm too tired to remember).
February 13 ~ One year already! Wow! Happy Birthday Sydney and Samantha. We are so happy that we all survived the first year. Today, we began the day by singing happy birthday. Drank bottles. Opened some gifts. Ate breakfast. Played with presents. Stroll to the park for swinging. Played some more. Drank bottles and relunctantly went down for a nap (somehow they KNOW it's a special day and they don't want to sleep). Talked to Grandpa on the phone. Sam is saying "Hi". Then Grandma Cathy and Aunt Cassie on the phone. With Cassie singing a beautiful rendition of the birthday song. Took a few family photos. Rushed out of the house. Talked to Granny on the phone in car. Got 2 birthday balloons. Went to the Lobster Shack for dinner (where mommy accidently popped 1 of the balloons. Yes, Granny... I disposed of the pieces quickly). Back at home again. Birthday cake. Baths. Bottles. Bed. The ice cream cake was NOT popular. They hated the cold! Videos coming soon..... Thanks everyone for the gifts, cards and birthday wishes. These are 2 very lucky little girls. We have toddlers now. No more babies around here. Happy Birthday Samantha and Sydney. We love you! We hope you had a great 1st birthday!
February 12 ~ Grandma arrived! Syd & I still have coughs so we missed our last twins group meeting. :-( Mike has taken vacation from work today and tomorrow to spend with us. No specific plans for tomorrow. Depends on weather and how we all feel. I can't wait to show you a picture of the cake! There is a hint on the front page.
