February 7 ~ The girls started the day before 6am, thanks to the LOUD garbage and recycling trucks.  We had to put them down for a short nap this morning.  Cleaners came to spiffy up the house.  I couldn't leave or drive.  The girls went down for an afternoon nap (Syd fought it.  Just like the old days of 2 naps that she hated).  Jo came to help us.  Sam has a snotty nose.  Syd vomitted.  Hopefully they aren't getting sick.  I'm still dizzy and my IC is flaring.  Mike is exhausted and overworked.

February 6 ~ Trial Class at the Little Gym.  Singing songs, parachute, various playmats, bars, beams, balls, bubbles, etc.  The girls had fun and did well.  It exhausted me.

After lunch, I got very sick with Vertigo.  Mike had to come home to take care of the girls.

February 5 ~ They slept in a little this morning until almost 8am.  Storytime at San Carlos library with a storyteller and a guitarist.  Charming and fun!

I had an appt this afternoon, so it was the first time I've really left the girls with Jo.  They did great.  She took them to the park were they met 3 year old twin boys.

After a formula, food and fun filled day....  We put the girls to bed at 7pm.  Half an hour of crying later, I realized they were still hungry.  Syd drank a record 16 ounces for her bedtime bottle(s).  Sam drank 14.5 oz.  Growth spurt!  And apparently I need to give them more solids too.  Crazy hungry little girls.  Must've been all that "flirting" at the park with those twin boys!

Tomorrow we are supposed to have a trial Little Gym class at 9am.  We'll see if the girls cooperate.  Last week our attempt was thwarted by a 5am start to the day.

February 4 ~ New bath system.  Pictures coming soon.  The girls can bathe and splash together now.  They LOVE it!

February 3 ~ Videos updated on dropshots.

MPPOM (Mid Peninsula Parents of Multiples) aka the Twins Group hosted a Winter Party this morning.  I think Sam & Syd were the youngest there.  It was more geared for 2-4 year olds.  "Mother Goose" (a children's entertainer) read stories and sang songs.

February 2 ~ Grandma & Grandpa Niles have survived the Florida Tornado.  They emailed and called to let us know they are okay.  Their house and Linda & Bob's house are okay too.

Storytime at another local Library.  Trying to find all the free and cheap activities we can to keep these 2 busy girls entertained.

Current favorite activity:  Splashing.  And pretending to splash (or just slap, clap and pound) on just about every surface (the coffee table, the window, mommy's face!)

February 1 ~ The girls had a fantastic time crawling around the Chiropracter's office.  The big exercise ball and the huge fish tank were the favorites.

January 31 ~ Another Storytime at a different Library.  Jo took the girls to the park.

January 30 ~ The girls started the day at 5am.  So our plans to go the Little Gym were thwarted.  It was a long, cranky day.

January 29 ~ Storytime at Library.  Joanna helped us survive Manic Monday.

January 28 ~ "Rug Rat Races".  This is a fun game from Daddy.  Dad puts Sam or Syd in a cardboard box and then pushes the box all around the house.  Sam actually likes this more than Syd, and Syd giggles as Sam zooms around.

January 24 ~ Stroll to the park while the house was "magically" cleaned.  Trip to Babies R Us with Joanna.

Syd is saying "baby" or "bailey".

In the playzone this morning, the girls took climbing on Daddy one step further... diving over his legs.  Lookout!

Favorite toys lately:  tupperware type containers, empty evian bottles and spoons.  Playing in Bailey's bowls of food and water.  Yuck!

Our super strong babies are getting into supposedly baby-proofed things.  Like taking nightlights and plugs out of sockets (that we thought were baby proofed) so they can chew on the metal prongs.  Yikes!

They want to play with and chew on everything that isn't actually a "toy".

January 23 ~ The girls had fun crawling around the Chiropractor's office.  The girls did not have as much fun strolling to Safeway for groceries.

Syd's been making alot of "b" sounds.

January 22 ~ The best (and the worst) day for Joanna to start working for us.

Syd didn't poop yesterday.  So this morning she woke us all up at 5:30am with a hard poop.  No one really slept after that.  Jo arrived at 10am.  We got the girls ready, stopped to pick up bagels for the hungry twin mommies and went to Twins Group for about an hour.  I think we stayed a little too long....

The girls stayed awake in the car thanks to Jo.  We changed, fed and read to them.  But they would not nap.  Poop, poop and more poop.  Yep, that's 3 poopy diapers later and a couple hours of crying.  Finally, they went down for a short nap.

They woke up grumpy.  We went to the park and then started the evening routine early.  The girls were in bed early and quietly played until falling asleep by 7:15.  Jo helped me with the chores.  Now I need to feed myself, maybe soak in a bath and get to bed (hopefully) before Mike gets home (likely not until 11pm).  Poor Mike.

Jo is scheduled to come back Wednesday afternoon and help again.  Honestly, today would have been a nightmare without her help.  Thank goodness she started today.  And I hope the cranky babies (and crazy mommy) didn't scare her off.  ;-)

January 21 ~ We (mostly Mike) hasn't found time to edit and upload videos.  So I put one video up on dropshots from yesterday.  Enjoy the giggles!

January 21 ~ First trip to the pool!  We took Samantha and Sydney to the pool today for their first swim.  They had a great time splashing.  We want to enroll them in baby swim classes.  The tough part is figuring an easier way to manage the before and especially the after.  For all of us to get clean, dry and dressed was quite an ordeal.

January 19 ~ Emily and Isabella visited this morning.  In the afternoon we ventured out to pick up a toy from another set of twins.  Then we went to the drug and grocery stores.

To offset the cost of having a babysitter, I'm cooking again.  We were consuming way too much takeout food.  It's hard to grocery shop with 2 babies.  It's even harder to cook after a very long day.

One of the only "easy" places to shop with the girls is Costco.  They have extra large shopping carts that accomodate 2 babies.  In the past, we've rarely bought groceries there because the quantities are so large.  Now I'm trying to figure out a way to make multiple meals from the same basic ingredients without waste (and overspending).

I welcome any recipe recommendations you can share.  Especially for crockpots, which is another way to make this cooking thing work for us.
