August 4 ~ Sam's temp going down.  But refuses to drink.  Major power struggle.  She hadn't had a wet diaper for almost 24 hrs and we thought we might have to take her to ER.  Really bad night for mommy (migraine and meltdown).

August 3 ~ Sam had a temp over 105 last night.  Had to give her a bath at 1am to bring her temp down.  Back to Drs.  She's lethargic, clingy, whiny, miserable.

August 2 ~ Sam's had diarrhea for almost 2 wks and diaper rash (every diaper change which is many more per day is a screaming/wrestling match).  This very early AM, she had a fever of 103.  Mike took them to Dr.  Sam still very sick and high temp (even with tylenol).  she's miserable.  drinking little and eating less.  Poor Sammy.....  it's gonna be a long night......  Also, she's been struggling for weeks with this one tooth that just won't break through.

Syd who appears to be feeling fine.....  Has screamed for an hour at each attempt to put her down to sleep (nap, bedtime) for the past 2 days.

I'm still having issues with vertigo and dizziness.  The Drs aren't much help.  I have to find some time to do more research and get 2nd opinions.

We are looking for a part time nanny (hard to find the right person to trust, where do I go to attempt to rest during the nanny time?) or day care (they'll get sick alot, not as much attention).  Neither option is great.  Joanna may or may not be available to help us on a limited basis when her classes begin in the fall (it's complicated).

July 29 ~ Finally uploaded over a month of photos (while chatting with Granny and doing several loads of laundry).  Everyone is napping but me!
Syd went to the pool with Dad.  Sam went to the Farmer's Market with Mom.
Afternoon birthday party for 1 year old twins Maya & Ruthie!

July 28 ~ Daycare at the gym.  This is the 2nd Saturday morning that Mike has taken the girls to daycare at his gym, while he works out, and Mom tries to stay home and rest.

July 24 ~  Syd's bruise is healing quickly.  Sam's diaper rash is taking awhile to heal.  We've been transitioning the before nap milk to sippy cups.  It works okay some of the time.  Still doing bottles at night until they've mastered the before nap sippy.
Joanna is returning from Brazil this week.  But she's not going to be available to work consistently for us once fall classes begin.  So I'm looking for help....  never easy!

July 19 ~ Sydney hit her head today and got a purple goosegg bump on her forehead.  The girls were playing rough.  Took her to the Dr.  She's okay, but keep a watchful eye over next 2 days.

June 4 ~ We have much to update you about the girls.  Finally over the coughs.  Had their checkup and shots (that's a long story that I'll type later).  They are doing great.  They are energetic and fearless (which scares the heck out of me).  Mike is going to Red Sox games on Tues & Wed so Joanna will help me with the girls.  On Sunday, We took the girls to a "beach" park (on a lagoon).  They loved the sand and the ducks.  Syd had an accident going head first down the slide.  Scraped up and screaming for a few minutes, but fine.  Then tried to do it again!  Fearless crazy bubbies!  They are sleeping a little better these days (thx to Syd's Zegerid and the cough finally ending).
Crazy week!!!

June 5 ~  The good news:  My brain and ears are fine!  (lots of tests, MRI, several drs, etc).  And I no longer have to follow a strict low sodium diet or give up cheese and chocolate!  Woohoo!  I'm going OUT to dinner tonight!

The bad news:  Still not sure why I'm having chronic dizziness and random sudden vertigo attacks.  The Neurologist still suspects an imbalance with my nervous system.  So I'm trying a 6 wk experiment with a medication and keeping a medical journal to track my symptoms.

May 30 ~ The girls are doing well (except for a lingering cough).  They have their 15 month checkup and shots tomorrow.

I am still struggling to find a medical reason for my unpredictable vertigo attacks and daily dizziness.  The Ear specialist has put me through multiple tests and my ears are fine (vertigo is usually inner ear related).

I'm working with the Neurologist again.  He suspects it's an issue with my nervous system (parasympathetic).  Basically, he thinks I'm so overwhelmed, overstressed, overstimulated and exhausted that my body is going into fight or flight.  Instead of passing out or fainting.....  I'm experiencing a vertigo attack!  I'm trying a new medication that may help.  I'm seeing a primary Dr for a general physical and more blood work tomorrow (Jo will take the girls to music class).

Next up will be a CAT scan and/or MRI.  I won't have any solid answers for weeks or months.  Let's just all hope that I don't have another unexpected attack while alone with the girls.

Thank goodness that Jo doesn't leave for Brazil for 2 more weeks.  We have her working extra hours (so that I can go to all these appts/tests and for me to rest).

May 21 ~ Mike got them the cutest kiddie pool for the yard.  It's a frog!  Today was warm enough to enjoy it.  Jo and I had a blast watching the girls.... splash, play with toys, climb in and out, "swim", drink the water, etc.  Thanks for the cute bathing suits and hats from Great Granny & Grandpap.

Bailey is recovering nicely!

The girls rarely sleep through the night.  Mostly it's Sydney that wakes up (often before 6am) and wakes up the rest of us (who would all prefer to sleep in).

I think the main culprit is Reflux.  We had tried taking her off the Zegerid Med.  Her reflux and pain worsened.  She's back on the med and is in alot less pain.

On hot nights, they wake for water.  Some nights, they wake because of a diaper.  Lately, they've had a cough (only when lying down).  Other nights, I have no idea why!  Except that Syd would much rather snuggle in Daddy's arms than sleep in her perfectly comfy crib.

May 20 ~ Mike took Sammy to the pool this week.  I had special Mommy time with Sydney.  We spent some time on the front lawn.  However, Syd does NOT like when I hold her hand and try to walk with her on the sidewalk.  So independent!

In the afternoon, Mike took the girls to the Library's Park.  Sam & Syd are fearless!  Sam likes to climb and slide.  Syd likes to run away from you (and keep going).  Neither is that interested in swings right now (too confining).

May 19 ~ I rested to recover from the tests.  Mike took the girls to a music class in the morning.  In the afternoon, they had a field trip to Lowes.

May 18 ~ I had a series of tests at the California Ear Institute.  Hopefully we'll find some answers about the vertigo and dizziness.  I meet with the Dr next Friday to go over the results.

May 15 ~ Yesterday was a long day.  Bailey had emergency surgery for stomach twist/bloat and to remove her spleen.  We brought her home tonight, but she's in pain and refusing to eat.

We are doing are best to juggle caring for the girls and a very sick dog.  We are both exhausted and overwhelmed.  We predict a very stressful and sleepless night.
