Stories Saturday, November 21, 2009: Yesterday was Alanna's 1st birthday!! I can't believe how fast that first year went. We had a small party for her today. It was a great time and she really likes cake!!! We go for our 12 month check-up on Monday, hopefully all goes well.
Tuesday, September 22, 2009: Things have been crazy here. I am back to school full time and working part time so it's been really busy. Alanna is doing really good! She is getting to be such a big girl! She is full of words, mommy, daddy, puppy, and up are just a few. We are working on walking, she stands very briefly and does try to take steps but usually falls forward. She is a pro at eating finger foods now, she really likes cheerios.
September 1st we had her 9 month check-up and things went great. She is 17.7 lbs and 28.25 inches tall. She is still a little peanut! I can't believe she will be one in just 2 short months...where did that time go!?!
Monday, July 27, 2009: Sorry it has been so long since my last update. Things have been a little busy around here. Well as you can see from the pictures, we took Alanna on her first vacation. We spent a week in the upper peninsula. It was a good time but the weather was horrible. It was warm and sunny the day we got there and the rest of the week was cold and rainy until the day we left...of course! Alanna has been quite the little swimmer this summer. She really likes being in the water! We also had Alanna baptized on July 12th. It was a great day, she looked so pretty in her dress! We are still battling with teething. She now has 4 teeth and 4 more coming in all at the same time!! She has been a little crabby, but I would be too!! Alanna is a little trouble maker already and she barely crawls. She does the army crawl and pulls herself with her arms. Everytime we turn around she is either in the wires for the tv or she is chewing on a dog bone...I guess that is to be expected though. I can't believe how fast she is growing. We have her 9 month check-up in a couple weeks! Yikes!!
Wednesday, May 27, 2009: Alanna had her 6 month appointment on the 21st. She is doing great! She is such a little peanut but she is pretty tall. Her weight is in the 25th percentile and her height is 75%. She is trying so hard to crawl, but she can't quite get up on her knees yet. Her bottom teeth finally came up all the way, she looks so precious with her little choppers!
Wednesday, May 13, 2009: In just one week Alanna will already be 6 months old! I can't believe how fast that went. She is getting her first 2 teeth on the bottom right now. They finally broke the surface so hopefully she won't be so crabby! She can just about sit up on her own now and when she lays on her belly she tries to lift her little butt up to crawl. Shouldn't be too much longer...Oh boy!! We go for her 6 month check-up on the 21st.
Sunday, March 22, 2009: Alanna had her 4 month check-up on Friday. She is doing great! She now weighs 13 lbs 4 oz and is 25.5 inches long. She is very tall and skinny, her weight is about 50% and height is 90%! She did so good for her shots, she got three. She whimpered a little during the second one and by the third one she was smiling. She is a great baby! Alanna is turning into quite the little chatterbox! She is constantly making some kind of noise, it's adorable!
Thursday, February 26, 2009: Not too much to update right now, Alanna has mastered a new skill. She is now holding onto and playing with toys. It is so funny to watch her shake her rattle! I can not believe she is 14 weeks old already, feels like just yesterday I was bringing her home from the hospital!
Tuesday, February 3, 2009: I can't believe how big my little peanut is getting already!! She has mastered the skill of rolling from her tummy to her back!! She talks a lot too!! She is such a good baby, she is sleeping 5-7 hours at night and during the day she is perfectly happy laying on the floor. She does it for hours. We were at the doctor last week because Alanna is a little bit constipated. He recommended giving her baby prunes, and to my suprise, she actually likes them. She does really good eating them off a spoon!
Saturday, January 17, 2009: Alanna had her 2 month check-up yesterday. She is doing great!! She weighs 11 lbs 12 oz and is 23 inches long. Her height and weight are both in the 75th percentile so she is a nice proportional baby!! We started her on medicine for acid reflux, which has been helping her out alot. I am very grateful for combination vaccines because she only got 3 shots instead of 5. She handled them like a champ, she only cried for a little bit! She is starting to be a very vocal baby. She likes to scream alot, it's hilarious! She started smiling at me the other day, it was the cutest thing! Developmentally she is exactly where she should be, we couldn't be happier!!
Wednesday, January 7, 2009: Happy New Year!!! Things have been pretty uneventful around here. I had my 6 week check-up today and everything is good! Alanna is getting so strong, she is picking up her head and is able to hold it up for quite some time. We tried giving her cereal, she likes it but is not quite sure what to do with it yet. I think we will hold off on that for a little bit. I can't believe she is 7 weeks old already! The time sure does go fast. She goes for her 2 month check-up on the 16th. Hopefully all will go well!!
Monday,December 22, 2008: We had a great time at Carroll Christmas on Saturday. Alanna got to meet the whole family including her great grandpa!! She was so good the entire night. As she was passed from person to person, she slept like a little angel!! We want to thank everyone again for the wonderful gifts you got her. We are very grateful to have such wonderful families!!
Saturday, November 29, 2008: Alanna is already a week old!! She is such a good baby! She is sleeping about 3-4 hours at a time. Things are going very good at home with our little peanut. We are starting to get the hang of sleeping when she sleeps, it took us a few days, but we are finally getting into a routine. We spent Alanna's first Thanksgiving at Mike's mom's house. It was very exciting to celebrate her first holiday! Grandma was a big help to us, we ended up spending the night because I got very sick. I was running a fever of 103.1. I think I just wore myself out so it was nice to be able to get some uninterupted sleep!!
Tuesday, November 25, 2008: Alanna was born early Thursday morning. I went to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon after my water broke. I was in labor for about 13 hours before she was born. Delivery was rough, it was a time sensitive thing because she was in distress and her heart rate kept dropping into the 50s. When she saw the pediatrician, he was worried about her weight and the fact that she was a little jaundice. We had a follow-up appt yesterday and she is gaining weight and is jaundice free. Everything looks really good and she is very happy and healthy!!
