5 YEARS OLD!!!

I can't believe Jason is now 5 years old! Every year goes by faster and faster. We had his birthday party a week before his birthday, because his Aunt Kelsey got married the day before his birthday. He had a great time and got a lot of presents that were just perfect for him. He's such a smart little guy and a pretty good artist. Lately he really enjoys playing Mario games on our Nintendo Wii, computer games on nickjr.com and making pictures with MSPaint on the computer. He and Jacob start preschool in a few weeks and they are so excited. Jason misses the kindergarten deadline by 4 weeks so he'll be starting that next year. He's about 34lbs and I think 38" tall. Still on the small side, but what else is new? I love him so much, he's a great kid. :)

7/7/09-
Wow, I didn't realize it's been so long since I last posted about Jason! He is going to be 5 in just a few months. I can't believe my little guy is that old already. He misses the school deadline so he won't be going to kindergarten this year, but he will be going to preschool. I decided to enroll both him and Jacob in preschool, starting in October. I think it'll be good for them and me to have a few hours a week that they go to school. Jason loves playing computer and nintendo games. He's been getting much better at playing MarioKart on the Wii, it's so fun. Anyway, the baby is crying so I better go. I'll try to update more frequently.

11/28/08- Baby Brother!!!

Jason's newest baby brother has arrived! Nathan Joshua was born Nov 13, 2008 after 2 days of labor, 2.5hrs of pushing, and an emergency c-section. Mom and baby are doing great. Little Nathan has lots of dark hair, weighed 9lb 3.8oz and was 21.25in long, big boy! Jason and Jakey are enjoying him and being great big brothers.

10/20/08-
Boy oh boy, it's been too long since I last posted an update!

Jason turned 4 last month! I can't believe how big he is getting! We had a nice little party with some family. He got lots of fun toys, and our big present to him was a big boy bike. :) He loves it and it's so cute to see him ride around on it. His other favorite presents were an Aquadoodle and K'nex. The boys really love the K'nex and will spend hours putting stuff together.

The boys are getting excited about the baby coming soon, and hopefully they will adjust well. Baby Nathan is due in one month and we are definitely ready to meet him.

Time flies 5/30/08-
The last few months have just flown by! We are all settled into our new home and we love it. Jason calls it "our big house" cuz it is big. He is understanding a little more about the new baby. He tells me it is a girl (we're hoping he's right!) and that my tummy will "grow big and big and big" and then it will pop open and the baby will come out lol. He's so funny. I've been trying to be better about remembering to do his preschool lessons, but I admit I forget a lot. We haven't even done it at all this week. He is so creative. He loves to draw pictures for me and I think they are pretty good for a kid his age. I really need to start a little memory book just for some of his drawings so we can look back on them as he gets older. The problem is he goes through so much paper that they usually all just get thrown away. I need to start saving a couple here and there.

Big Changes 3/6/08-

We are still living with my family in SLC, but not for much longer! We will be moving into a new house in just a few days. It is a nice big house with plenty of room to grow, which is great, because our family is growing. That's right, Jason and Jacob are getting a new sibling! The baby is due mid-November and we are all excited. When I told Jason I had a baby in my tummy his eyes got all wide and he pointed to his throat and said, "You swallowed it down in your tummy?! Swallowed the baby all down?!" It was so cute! I explained that Heavenly Father put the baby in my tummy, and when the baby grows big and my tummy gets really big, then we can meet the baby. The next day he asked me if we were going to WalMart to get a baby. He's such a cutie.

Jan 2008-

Well, we have had a busy few months! First we had all the holidays and then on New Year's Eve we found out Nate got a new job down in Salt Lake near my family. We had two weeks to pack up and get moved down here. We are living with my family and the boys are enjoying it. Hopefully the house in Idaho sells quickly so we can find our own place soon.

Sept 19, 2007-

Jason had his 3 year appointment yesterday. He is still a little guy but at least he finally put on a few pounds. He is 28lbs and a bit over 35", no head measurement but I bet it's still big lol. His birthday is next week, time is going way too fast! I'll post more of an update after his bday :)

May 2007-
Wow, time goes so fast! Things are going great here. Jason is growing up more and more every day. He had his first actual phone conversation yesterday with Grandma. Before that he wouldn't really talk on the phone to anyone, just get a funny look when it talked back lol, but yesterday he talked to her for a few minutes. We are trying to get him interested in potty training, but so far he wants nothing to do with it. He loves to color, he can make a face and he tries to do a few shapes and letters. He can write an "H" and "b" pretty good. He only recognizes a few letters but learning every day. He knows most of the basic colors and shapes, loves singing the alphabet and can count to 10, though he doesn't really understand numbers yet, anything more than 1 is 2 to him lol.

2 1/2 Years Old-

Jason is now 2 1/2 years old. He is so much fun. He loves going to the park, playing with Jakey, and watching Veggietales. He talks more and more every day. I'm amazed how much he has changed in just a year, and how his personaility develops.

Holidays-

We had very fun holidays. For Thanksgiving we went to the Allred house. It was so fun! Jason loves all those girls there to spoil him. Then we went to Christmas at the Andrus house, and had fun opening presents. After Christmas Jason went to stay at the Allred's for a week. I missed him, but he had a blast. Who wouldn't with so many girls waiting hand and foot on him?

2 Year Appointment-

Jason finally had his 2 year appointment yesterday (11/14/06). He weighs 24lbs 2oz, is 32.5", and still has a huge head lol. He is small for his age (except the head lol), but the doctor says it's fine since we aren't big and he's been on the same growth curve for the last year. He's developing perfectly. Talking so much these days! And he definitely knows what he wants and demands to get it! He had to get 2 shots and screamed "Hurts! Hurts!" I felt so horrible, I about broke down crying with him.

Happy Birthday!!!

Jason is 2 years old today! I can't believe how fast the last few years have gone! He went from a cute, sweet little baby to a independent liitle boy overnight it seems. He's getting smarter everyday, learning a few colors, saying lots of new words, and even starting to potty train, though we're taking that slowly. He's still little. Only 23lbs still, hasn't really gained any weight in the last 6 months, but grew a few inches. I love my little guy so much!

Aug 15th-

Jason's almost 2 years old now :) He's getting so big now. He has his own little bed and has been doing great sleeping and napping in it. He talks a lot more, though we still don't understand most of it, lol. We have 3 cats now and Jason loves them, but they don't like him much cuz they don't like how he plays.

Moving on up!

On June 14th we moved to Pocatello, ID. We bought a house and we are mostly settled in now. We are doing good. Jason's been throwing more fits lately and some days just drives me nuts, but he is still good most of the time and loves trying to "help" with Jacob, by shoving his binky in his mouth while he's sleeping(wakes him up lol), trying to roll him over, rocking him in his swing (a little roughly) and helping burp him.

He's Here!

Jason's little brother Jacob has arrived! He came June 1, 2006. He is adorable and looks so much like Jason, except Jason had lots more hair. Everything went well and we are enjoying being a family of 4. Jason is a great big brother. He tries to help by bringing Jacob his binky, blankets, hats, etc and he likes to rub his head and point to him and say "Baby".

18 Months Old-

Jason turned 18 months old yesterday. A whole year and 1/2! What a great 1 1/2 years it's been. He is getting so big and doing so much now. I guess he's around 23 lbs now, not sure on height. He doesn't have an appointment at 18mths so I don't know for sure. He's still not talking much, but he can say and sign "please" and "thank you" and it's so cute! He's learned to climb up on the couches, and I have to try to keep him from jumping around on them so he doesn't fall off. He still doesn't understand about the baby coming, but hopefully it won't be too much of a shock. I'm sure he'll be a great big brother.

15 Month Appointment-

Jason had his 15 month appointment on Jan 26. He was actually 16 months by then lol. His weight was 21.2 lbs, height 30 3/4 in, and 19in head. He had to get 2 shots, but one wasn't working so he had to get it twice, poor little guy. The dr said he is right on track developmentally for his age. He doesn't talk very much still, but that's ok, he understands a lot.

He is such a sweet boy. He loves to give everyone hugs. Also just recently he learned how to do the sign for 'please' and say "thank you" (dun coo).  I've been trying to teach him animal sounds but so far he's stuck on barking lol. He does a cute little "uff, uff" bark for any animal he sees, but especially for dogs. He is more interested in books now and loves to be read to. Overall, he is just a joy most of the time.

Jason's getting a little brother!

We had the baby's ultrasound today and found out Jason is going to have a little brother! We are very excited to be having another perfect little boy. His name will be Jacob Allen Andrus.

Christmas 2005

Jason had a wonderful Christmas. We spent it at the Allred house. It was a lot of fun with so many kids there. Jason still wasn't sure about how to open gifts but he had plenty of little helpers. His favorite gifts were his toy cars, he got so excited! He almost didn't want to touch any of the other toys. We videotaped the whole thing so we don't have any pictures yet.
Jason's uncle Ben is going on a mission to Barcelona, Spain so we won't see him for 2 years. It was nice to be able to spend time with him over Christmas. Jason has lots of fun with his uncle.
And tomorrow Jason gets to find out if he is getting a little brother or sister!
