Happy Halloween!
On Halloween we dressed up Jason as a Jedi! He looked so adorable and everyone thought his costume was so great. We went to the ward's trunk-or-treat and he had fun. Of course since he can't eat most of the candy I get to!
1-Year Appointment
Today (9/28) Jason had his one year appointment. He is still small with a big head, lol. He weighs 19lbs 1oz (4%), height is 28.3in (5%), and his head circumference is 47.2cm (73%!). He is perfectly healthy and right on track for his age developmentally. He had to get his finger pricked and 3 shots today. :( He did not like that! But the bright blue band-aid they put on his finger quickly distracted him.
Jason's birthday!!!
Wow, one whole year has gone by! I can't believe how much Jason has grown! It seems like just yesterday I first found out we were expecting him. I can still remember feeling his kicks, and then holding him for the very first time. His first smiles, laughs, rolling, sitting, and now walking! He is such a sweet boy. We are so blessed to have him in our lives.
Big Brother-
Well, Jason gets another chance to be a big brother! We are due May 27, 2006! We are so excited and praying that all goes well with this baby. We will post updates on the pregnancy at www.babababies.com/view/view.cfm?SiteID=22304
Time Goes So Fast!
I can't believe Jason is going to be turning one in just a few weeks! It seems like just yesterday that I first met him. He has grown and changed so much! He is starting to walk around more, he babbles all the time, and he loves to dance whenever he hears music.
Walking!!!
Well, Jason is learning how to walk! He actually took his first steps July 29th, just 2 days after turning 10months. It is so cute! He usually takes about 3 steps at a time. He got 2 new teeth July 19th and 21st, so he has 4 total now. He's also starting to wave hello and bye more. He's just so sweet! It's so amazing how fast he is growing! In just 1 1/2 months he will be 1 year old!
9 Months Old!!!
Jason turned 9 months old on Monday. He is growing so fast! At his appointment Wednesday he weighed 17lbs 13oz and was 27 3/4 inches. He's a little on the smaller side, but that's not surprising considering he's built just like his dad. :) He perfectly normal in his development. He crawls all over the place, pulls up on anything, cruises around the furniture (he especially likes knocking everything off the coffee table), claps, and is now learning to stand alone. Walking is just a step away! He has yet to say Mama, but he says dadada all the time and we consider his first real word to be "Uh-oh!" He still only has 2 teeth but he should be getting 2 on top any day now.
It's a sad day :(
Unfortuately Jason is not going to get the chance to be a big brother yet. This morning we lost the baby. I can't stop crying.
Big Brother!
Jason is going to be a big brother! We are expecting another baby, due New Year's Day 2006. The new baby's website is http://www.babyhomepages.net/our2ndbaby/index.php
6 Months Old
Jason turned 6 months old this past Sunday. He is getting so big. At his appointment Monday he weighed 16lbs 8oz and was 27 1/4 inches. Last month we had a bit of a scare. Jason started having episodes of shaking while he nursed and we aren't sure of the cause. We had to have an EEG and later a head ultrasound done, but everything came back normal, so hopefully it's something he'll grow out of. Jason can sit up by himself now and rolls around. It is so much fun to watch him play. He's not quite ready to crawl yet but he has tried pushing himself up. He babbles and talks to his hands a lot. He is just the sweetest little boy ever!
4 months old
Jason was 4 months old on January 27th. At his 4 month appointment he weighed 14 1/2 lbs and was 24 1/2 inches long. He is changing so fast and getting cuter every day. He smiles and laughs so much. Yesterday, February 4, he rolled over for the first time! It was so exciting! I can't imagine a more wonderful baby ever. We still need to develop a lot of pictures from the last few months, so that's why that hasn't been updated. But he is growing like a weed.
3 Months Today
Jason is 3 months old today. He is growing and changing so fast. He is always smiling and is usually a very good baby. Of course, he does have his bad days too, but most of the time he is so easy going. At his 2 month checkup he was 12lbs 4oz and 23 1/2in. I'd guess he is about 14 lbs now and 25in. We are using cloth diapers now, which we started a month ago and love it. We just had his first Christmas and it was so much fun. We went up to Nate's family's house for the holiday. Jason got lots of gifts, a bouncer, mobile, 2 gyms and lots of little things. We are going down to my family's house for New Years.
Wow! 7 Weeks Already!
Well, Jason is already 7 weeks old. It's so hard to believe he's that old. Time has gone so fast. He is growing and changing every day. His next appointment isn't for 2 more weeks so I don't know how much he weighs right now, but he does feel heavier. He eats all the time and is awake more often. He started really smiling at us at about 5 weeks and he also makes more noises. I can't wait for him to laugh and coo. He is a very good baby most of the time, but he does get fussy once in a while. Today, 11/15, I decided to take some pictures of him to send in Christmas cards. It took about 1 1/2 hrs to finally get some good ones. He kept screaming everytime I put him on his tummy and he peed and pooped all over, but it was worth it. Our digital camera is not very good because most of the pictures were fuzzy but a few came out okay. I posted the 2 good ones here. Anyway, it's my bedtime. Gotta sleep when baby sleeps or I don't get any.
Life is Good
Well, Jason is 18 days old now. He is so cute! He is such a good baby too. He likes to eat a lot. He had his 2 week appointment on Oct 11. He weighed 9lbs 1oz and is 20 1/2 inches long. He is growing just perfectly. I had my 2 week appointment on the 14th to check my incision, which is healing well. I now weigh 141 lbs, which means I've lost 19 lbs since I had Jason. Hopefully it won't take me long to lose the other 16 lbs to get back to 125. Jason is so wonderful. He is eating and sleeping well most of the time. I love watching Nate take care of him. He is such a great daddy. I also love just watching Jason when he is awake and looking around. He is so sweet. I love him so much!
He's Finally Here! 8lbs 15oz, 20", 10:04pm 9/27/04
Little Jason was born Monday the 27th. I went to the hospital at 1pm when my cntrx were about 3 mins apart. They checked me at 2pm and I was at 5cm. At 3pm I got my epidural (Thank Heavens!) and felt so much better. They checked me again at 4pm and I was at 8cm. Around 6:30pm my epidural stopped working because the machine that dispenses it went crazy so I was in pain for about 15mins until they fixed it. At 7:30pm I was finally complete and started pushing. At first it wasn't too bad, but as time went on and nothing was happening I got exhausted. After 1 1/2 hrs of pushing it was determined that the baby's head was angled wierd and wouldn't move any farther. The doc said I could try pushing for 1/2hr more and if nothing had happened we would check to see if he was in an okay position to use the vacuum or forceps. While, at 9:30pm it was the same, and since they couldn't tell what part of his head was where we decided it would be best to do a c-section. So they got me all shaved and numbed for that. I was so nervous, but I just wanted the baby to come out okay. As soon as I was strapped to the table and ready, they let Nate in and started at about 9:50pm. I was so surprised that Nate, who this whole pregnancy had said he would faint while I was in labor, watched the whole thing and had no problems. Jason was born at 10:04pm and his cry was the most wonderful thing I've ever heard. I immediately started crying as well. They cleaned him up a little and Nate brought him around so I could see him. He is a big boy! 8lbs 15 oz and 20" with a big head. He is also so cute. He was crying when Nate brought him over but stopped when he heard my voice! I was so sad when they had to take him away to the nursery while I got cleaned up. I didn't get to see him again until 12:15am. We immediately started nursing and he latched on great and has been eating ever since. I stayed at the hospital until today, the 30th. I am so sore and tired but it is all worth it to have my beautiful baby boy. I can hardly move because my stomach muscles are pretty dead right now. I didn't realize how many things you need those muscles for. I seem to hurt everywhere and just want to sleep, but everytime I look at Jason it makes up for it.
I'm Going To Be Pregnant Forever!
At least, that's how I feel! I really want Jason to come out. I've had a great pregnancy and feel fine, but I'm starting to get impatient for it to finally end so I can see my little boy. I had an appointment yesterday, Sept 22, and I've had a little change. I'm still 1cm dialated but I'm now 70-80% effaced. My OB said that if I don't have the baby by my appointment next Wednesday then we will set an induction date for Oct 6th or so. I don't want to be induced, I'd much rather have him on my own, but at least there is an end in sight. My mom told me that he will be born this weekend. I really hope she's right. I walked home from my appointment yesterday, about 1/2hr walk, hoping to get him to move down some more, but all that happened was my feet and legs got sore (I was wearing crappy sandals) and a bird pooped on my head! Then I got home and realized I was locked out and I had to wait for 1/2hr for my landlord to let me in. What a crazy day! I'm going to go walking again today and hope that something happens.
Is He Ever Coming Out?
I'm so ready to have Jason out but so far he just wants to hang out inside my belly. I had an appointment yesterday, 9/16, and am now fully 1 cm dialated with no other changes. I just want to be done! Luckily the 14th was my last day of work so now I can get some extra sleep before he comes. I also still need to buy a few things before he shows up. I'm just waiting for that insurance check to show up and then I'm going shopping! My house needs to be cleaned again. I had it so nice and clean for my baby shower and now it's back to being a big mess. Oh well, it seems I still have plenty of time to get everything ready. At least I know that I will get to hold my baby boy within 3 weeks since my doctor's office doesn't like us to go past 41 weeks and will induce if I do go that late. I'm also still gaining weight. For my past 3 appointments I've gained 2lbs a week! When will it stop?! I'm now at 160lbs, which is exactly 35lbs more than I started out with so I don't want to gain anymore. I don't see how I'm gaining so much when I don't feel like I'm eating enough. I'm hungry alot but nothing ever sounds good to eat. Hopefully I won't have too much of a problem losing weight after the baby comes. I want my old figure back! (Added later): I just checked the mail and the insurance check showed up! $3,365.36!!!!! Woo-hoo!! I'm going shopping!
Getting Closer
I'm 37 weeks 5 days now. I had an appointment on Thursday and nothing has really changed. On Friday and Saturday Nate and I went to a childbirth class and that was pretty cool. Saturday afternoon I had a baby shower at my house. My mom and Josh's wife Danielle put it together. We had fun and I got lots of stuff I needed. Mom got me a portable swing. I got a diaper bag and diapers, wipes, bottles, binkies, and lots of other things. I'm so ready to have Jason here. I'm getting very impatient. Any day now would be fine.
Sept 3- Crazy Week!
Well, I'm now 36 1/2 weeks. This last week has been so horrible, but finally I'm feeling better. Last Thursday I started getting a pain in my backside but I didn't pay much attention to it. Be Saturday it was very uncomfortable and I figured I had hemorroids so I started using some cream on it. This week it was still getting more painful and swollen so I changed creams and did everything I could think of to cure my "hemorroids". Finally by this Thursday I was in so much pain that I couldn't sleep and I was crying for hours. I called the doctor and they had me go in. It turns out that I actually had an infection from a clogged duct! They had to cut it open and drain it, and I have to take antibiotics for a week, but I am feeling so much better. Then today (9/3) I had my normal appointment and everything is going well. I am happy because I'm 60% effaced and about 1cm dialated. This doesn't mean I'll go into labor anytime soon but it's an improvement over last week. I've also gained 2lbs since last week! I'm at 156lbs now, a total of about 31lbs gained this pregnancy. I'm also quitting work on the 14th. Hooray! I'm getting more excited as the days go by to see my little boy. Time seems to move so slow some days but then I realize I only have 3 1/2 weeks left! I keep thinking that there is so much to do still to get ready, but there really isn't. We're mostly ready. I had a baby shower in Idaho last weekend and that was fun. I got some cute outfits and some things I needed. Nate's mom is also going to give us $25 a month for diapers for the baby! That should help alot. I'm excited for my other baby shower next weekend (11th).
35 Week Appointment
Had an appointment today, August 25th. Everything is looking just perfect, like normal. I'm getting so excited that I only have a few weeks left. I'm almost all ready for Jason to be here. I have a baby shower on Saturday up in Idaho and another one in a few weeks here in Logan. I'm really excited. I hope I get the things that I registered for since those are the things that I still really need. Last weekend I went to visit my family and that was lots of fun, even though Nate had to stay home alone all weekend because he had to work.
