32 1/2 Weeks
Well I had an appointment yesterday, Aug 5th. Again everything is going perfectly. My glucose test results were normal. Jason's heartbeat is good and my belly's measuring at 33 weeks. My back and hips are killing me all the time and this week I've also started getting heartburn, especially if I eat pizza. Thank heaven for Tums! I no longer have any belly button at all. It's starting to poke out just a little but you can barely see it. Some days I wish I could just have him now but it's still too early and I know life will get much harder when he's out here. Last week, Nate and I bought a dresser from the DI that's in good condition. I washed all the baby's clothes and put them away. There's not too much I need to get before Jason comes but I should probably get on it soon. This week I had a major cleaning frenzy. I cleaned the whole house. I normally hate to clean but I wanted to get everything done.
30 Weeks
This last weekend was fun. Nate and I drove up to Idaho. Friday I went to a friend's wedding reception. I saw some people I hadn't seen in a while so it was cool. Saturday we went to Margaret's family reunion. They gave me some baby stuff. Margaret told me that she has a travel crib and stroller/car seat travel system on layaway for me. That's pretty cool. On Sunday Nate and I went to the hotel where we spent our wedding night because it was our 1 year anniversary. We had lots of fun. Then we went back to his family's house Monday and came home Tuesday morning. All together it was a good weekend, except for the rock hard beds we had to sleep on. They made my back hurt so bad and I didn't get much sleep. This week is going pretty good, although it was hard to go back to work after that long weekend. Last night I got out all the baby stuff I have so far. I have a bunch of hand me down clothes and a few new onsies and some blankets and 2 packs of diapers. I still need a lot more but it's nice to see that I do have some stuff. Last week I had an appointment and everything is looking perfect with Jason so far. I have my next appointment at 32 weeks and then I start having them every two weeks.
28 Weeks and Counting
Well, I'm in my third trimester now and things are still going well. I'm getting more uncomfortable and have a hard time sleeping. Jason loves sticking his feet into my ribs and pushing really hard. I'm working on a baby afghan for him because Margaret came and showed me how to crochet. It is turning out very cute so far. I also set up the crib this week because I wanted to be able to look at it. It's in the bedroom for now so I see it whenever I go to bed or get up. It's very exciting. Next weekend on the 18th is mine and Nate's 1st anniversary and we are going to stay at the hotel where we spent our first night together after getting married.
25 week update- appointment, new job, and Father's Day gift
June 17th- I had another appointment and ultrasound to check on Jason's kidneys and everything looked fine. I got to have a 3D picture of his leg and cute little foot. He wouldn't turn around so I didn't get a picture of his face, though. Everything is going well with me and him. He's still getting more active all the time and some of his kicks have been a little painful. I'm always tired but that's mostly because I don't get to bed early enough.
I started a new job on Monday the 14th and so far it's not too bad. The work's not hard and the people I work with are very nice.
For Father's Day I decided to get Nate a digital camera because I know he's wanted one for a long time and it will be very useful once Jason comes and, now that I'm working, we could barely afford it. I had Nate help pick it out since I know nothing about what would be good. We got it a little early, but we just couldn't resist once I got the idea.
22 Weeks Along
Jason has been getting more active everyday. Sometimes I wonder if he ever sleeps inside there! His movements have become more visible and today I was laying down and watching my stomach move, amazed at how much I love my little boy already. I feel like my belly is growing more everyday. Unfortunately my backside seems to be growing just as quickly!
20 Week Ultrasound- It's a BOY!!!
We found out at our ultrasound today, May 12th, that our precious little baby is a boy! We are very excited. We have decided that he will most likely be named Jason James Andrus. Everything on the ultrasound looked great and it seems Jason is growing just fine. He did measure a little bigger than normal, but I figured I would have big babies because I was a big baby! Just getting what I deserve I guess!
Having a Great Week
Besides Mother's Day, this has been a good week. On Saturday before Mother's Day I was looking at yard sales and found a crib in good condition with mattress for only $35! The nice lady also threw in a few onsies, recieving blankets, and burp rags for free. It's so exciting to actually have some baby stuff to look at. On Wednesday May 12 we have an ultrasound appointment and hopefully we will be able to see what the baby is!
Mother's Day
Well, I had a great Mother's Day. Nate got me a nice reclining glider that I wanted. We actually bought it a week early, and it's been great to relax in. At church I was given some flowers along with all the other moms. Nate made dinner and did the dishes so I could sit around and do nothing. He is such a sweetie! It was the perfect Mother's Day for me.
Nate felt the baby
On April 24th Nate was able to feel the baby pushing against his hand. It was the first time he's been able to feel it. He said it is weird that there is something living inside me!
More Shopping
Today I went shopping for more maternity clothes. I just can't stop! I bought a black skirt and two shirts that are so cute. There is also a tank top to wear under my shirt. It cost me $90 and I know Nate won't be happy about that! But I really needed the clothes and we had a little money from taxes.
Maternity Clothes
I finally went out and bought some maternity clothes. I have a cute pair of jeans with a full panel and a new 36D bra because my old 32C was no longer big enough! As soon as I got home I put my new clothes on. They were so comfortable after weeks of wearing continually shrinking clothing. The pants look like normal jeans if I'm wearing a long enough shirt to cover the panel, plus they look really cute on me (at least Nate thinks so!). I wish I had the money to go out and buy tons more maternity and baby stuff. Now that I've started, I don't want to stop!
3rd Appointment - 17 Weeks
At my third appointment at 9:00 a.m. on April 21, I again had my blood pressure checked and a urine sample taken. When I was weighed I was shocked. I had gained 7 lbs. in one month! I went from 127 to 135. Dr. McCulloch again asked how I was doing and if I had any questions. My only question was about dizzy, hot spells I was having. She told me that it was likely from a drop in my blood pressure if I stand or sit for too long. Then we listened to the heartbeat again, a steady 148 beats/min. After the appointment I went to have blood taken for the triple screen test, which tests for possibilities of defects. I should get the results in about a week. I am a little nervous but I'm hoping it all looks fine.
Feeling Movement
On April 16th I first felt the baby move. I wasn't sure if it was the baby at first, but I knew it wasn't like anything else I'd felt up to that point. It was like a light touching feeling, like I was being poked from the inside. As the days went on I was able to feel it more often and knew that it was the baby moving. Nate sometimes put his hand on my tummy to try to feel it too, but hasn't been able to yet.
2nd Appointment - 13 Weeks
At our 2nd appointment on March 24th at 10:00 a.m. I had to do a urine sample and was weighed again (127 lbs.) and had blood pressure checked. Dr. McCulloch asked me questions to see if I was doing all right. Then we got to listen to the baby's heartbeat. It was so neat! Nate was excited too. The appointment didn't last too long and after it we set up our next appointment as well as the appointment for my 20 week ultrasound.
First Appointment - 9 Weeks
It seemed forever before I finally had a doctor's appointment. It took days to actually find a good doctor who was accepting new patients. The doctor we chose is named Dr. Kimberly McCulloch. Our appointment was at 10:00 on February 25th. When it was time, I taken back and weighed (126 lbs.) and had my blood pressure taken. Then I was told to undress and put on the hospital gown and the doctor would be right in. Dr. McCulloch came in and I knew right away that she was very nice. She asked me questions about my health and family history. Then she did an internal exam to check my uterus and also did a PAP smear. I was very nervous about this at first but it wasn't too bad. Then I got dressed again and we went to get an ultrasound done to see the baby. The baby measured normal and we could see it's heart pumping prefectly. We also saw it moving around a bit. It was so amazing. After that the appointment was finished and we set up our next one for 4 weeks later.
Finding Out
On January 15th I took my first home pregnancy test which gave a positive result. All day I kept checking to make sure that I wasn't seeing things. I couldn't wait for Nate to get home so I could tell him. When I showed him the test he looked at me and said, "Is that right?" I told him it might still be to early to know for sure, so decided to wait a few days and test again. On the 17th I took another test which was also positive. On the 19th I went to the hospital to get a blood test done, just to be sure. After an hour of nervous waiting the results were in: positive again! We decided to call our parents and let them know. When they found out they were so happy. Ever since then, I tell everyone I know that I'm going to have a baby!
