Stories

1/20/2010 - Kaitlyn wrote her name in school!  It was spelled K A T I L Y N T, but its a start.  The next day, she did have it spelled corrected on a paper she brought home.

10/26/09 -  Kaitlyn had a 5 yr checkup and weighs 33 1/2 pounds and is 39 3/4 inches tall.  My peanut is 25% for height and 10 % for weight(or vice versa..I cannot remember). She got 3 shots in 1 arm and the 4th in the other and that one hurt. She took the others w/o a flinch. I also had a lab sheet that I need to take her to test her urine, which I wind up having to get a sample at home and bring it in, which worked out a lot better.

9/26/09 - Kaitlyn had her 5th birthday party at Duffield's farm and it was a great success.  She had a great time playing w/ her friends and cousins and got great presents!

7/14/2009 - Kaitlyn is officially registered for preschool.  She missed the cutoff date by one day last year, so she will be turning 5 going to preschool.  Thats okay though b/c I dont think she was ready last year. I def think she's ready.  Its only for 2 1/2 hours for 2 days starting in September.  Info will come in the mail by August.

10/22/08 - Kaitlyn had her 4 yr old checkup last night. Hehe, she's such a peanut.  She in the 10% for weight and around 20% for height.  Shes 37 1/4 inches and weighs 27 1/2 pounds.  The dr was impressed that K is interested in the days of the week and the time.  Thats about it in a nutshell til next year. Her biggest accomplish this year was spelling her first name!  I'm so proud of her!

10/22/07 - Kaitlyn had her 3 yr checkup.  Shes just under 3 feet tall at 35 3/4 and weighs 25 pounds.  The nurse was checking her blood pressure. This was the first time this was done and Kaitlyn as starting intensely. It was too funny! She behaved very well doing what the doctor told her to do.  She was actually impressed that she can point out numbers out of order.  :)

10/2/2007 -  Kaitlyn turn 3 years old today!!!!! I wind up taking the day off so we can take her to the Philadelphia Zoo for her birthday.  I think she had a great time. I know I sure did!!!  We were there for a few hours and it worked out since she was due for a nap anyways.  We went to McD's for dinner and my ILs and friends of ours stopped over for some cake. She got some great gifts and Im sure she loved all the attention she was getting!

I know she's been trying to get potty trained since the beginning of September.  I've been hoping that she would be fully trained by her bday and I honestly think I can say that Kaitlyn is fully potty trained! She's been doing great even when we're out!  Yay!!!!  Now it's back to only buying diapers for one! :)

9/4/07 - Yesterday marked day 1 of Kaitlyn being completely dry!!!!  Woohoo!!! I wind up buying M&M's over the weekend and been using them to help her go on the potty more. Its been working. I would give her 1 for sitting on the potty and 2 for actually going. I dont think Im gonna bother giving her the 1 since w/in a few minutes of actually going, she would want to sit on the potty again.  Anyways...shes been dry the entire day!  In fact, she woke up at 8 yesterday morning and laid w/ me on the sofa for an hour and was still completely dry, so I finally stuck her on the potty and she went pee pee! She got 4 M&M's just b/c she stayed dry!  I was worried since she hasnt poop all day. But, while we were in the LR last night eating our dinner, Kaitlyn was playing on the coffee table and all of a sudden, she bolted saying "i gotta go pee pee". "I think I went poo poo". Yup! She did! Thankfully it was in the potty...ugh...its gross cleaning poopy training pants...yuck! Sooooooooo...so far so good! :)

8/23/07 - Last night, Kaitlyn went pee pee on the potty 3 times!!!! When she first told me that she wanted to go pee pee on the potty, I took her but didnt expect much. She tells me "I think I went pee pee in the potty". When I told her to step away, I couldnt believe it!!!! Chris and I clapped and chanted. She got her first Slim Jim for going on the potty!!! Then about a half hour later she went again!! I think shes getting the hang of it. When she took her diaper off to go on the potty, she did have some pee in there, so shes prob not realizing thats shes going until she starts. ???? This is huge!!!

7/31/07 - Kaitlyn is totalling loving her new baby sister!  Nicole is already 6 weeks!  Kaitlyn constantly wants to hold her and take care of her.  I think she loves her sister a little too much b/c she has a fit when she cannot hold her. We're still struggling w/ potty training.  Shes definately stubborn and lazy.  She did take a huge step and voluntarily pulled everything down and sat on her potty.  She's def capable, but is lazy! I cannot believe my baby will be 3 soon. :(

5/13/07 - Today is Mother's Day. Ugh...between Kaitlyn becoming a big girl this weekend and these pregnancy hormones, Ive been a waterfall all weekend.  Yesterday, after leaving church, my dad told me to let myself in to their house b/c he was going shopping w/ Kaitlyn.  Once they arrive back home, Kaitlyn walked over to me w/ a red carnantion and said "happy mothers day"...I just started bawling.  She was looking at me w/ this concerned look on her face....but they were happy tears....It was a precious moment.

5/12/07 - This has been the worse 24 hours of my life.  My daughter is no longer a baby. :(   Yesterday, Chris converted her crib into a daybed...Chris asked her to get in to see if she would be able to get on herself.  She was so proud of herself.  She slept the entire night.  In fact, I opened her door at 7:30 this morning.  She was laying in the bed awake.  When I asked if she was, she put the blanket over herself and said "no".  Fine...so I left the door open a crack and crawled back into bed w/ Chris.  When shes ready, she'll get up, he said. She scared the crap out of me.  Within 5 minutes, she was on my side climbing up the bed.  Then a half hour ago, I wanted to put her down for a nap. I told her to get in her room and lay down...she did exactly that. She laid on her belly w/ her head on the pillow and was getting all snugged in.  I covered her up w/ the blanket and closed her door. :(  I was literally crying on the phone w/ my mom.  I guess in a way I was hoping she wouldnt like the new transition b/c that would mean she's still a baby. Gosh...whats gonna happen to me when shes fully potty trained!

3/16/07 - I swear..some of the things that come out of her mouth lately.  Chris' cousin stopped over for a bit. He wanted a hug from Kaitlyn. Chris mentioned that he has to bribe her w/ $. He reached in his pocket for some change, when Kaitlyn said "no, dollars." 2faint.gif I couldnt believe it!!!! Now thats my girl!   The other night, Kaitlyn said something and Chris said, "Im the daddy, Im the boss".  Kaitlyn turns around and says "mommy is the boss!". Alright!

3/12/2007 -  Kaitlyn is 2 years and 5 months.  Gosh....she's getting so big.  Some of the things she does and says now just amazes me.  My stomach is getting bigger each week. Kaitlyn knows a baby is in mommy's tummy, but I dont think she grasp the concept that this baby will be living w/ us soon. :)   I think for a while this baby will have her own room, but eventually they will share. Kaitlyn is in the "mine" phase, so Im hoping this transition would be too painful. :)

1/10/07 -  Ugh, I was hoping this potty training thing would be easy. Kaitlyn has been showing signs, but when its time for the potty, she wants nothing to do w/ it.  Since Kaitlyn will be a big sister in June, I would like her potty trained before the new baby arrives.  Why cant it just be easy! LOL  Kaitlyn is doing so well in her vocabulary.  She says everything now..which we have to be careful.  She sings her ABC's even if not all the letters are correct and counts up to 20..sortof. She knows some colors and shapes.  Oh what a fun age!  Everyday she surprises us w/ her personality.

10/2/06 - Kaitlyn turns 2!!!! Wow! Where did the time go?!!! We had her birthday party yesterday.  She had a great time.  She got a lot of great gifts and actually ate some of the cake this time.  Her appt was today and she weighs 20.5, is 32 inches long and her head is 45 cm.  Everything looks fine.  Her vocabulary is increasing everyday. She's starting to put 3 word sentences together.  She also can count to 10!!!  She's not too interested in the potty yet.  She can pull her pants off, but havent figured out how to put them back on.  She knows what the potty is for, but to her I think its just a seat in the bathroom.  Kaitlyn is still in the crib.  I guess Im lucky that shes such a peanut b/c shes still in the crib at 2! We actually still have one more setting to lower.

8/28/06 -  I cannot believe less than 2 months, my baby will be 2!  Where did the time go?!  Her vocabulary has really taken off.  If you repeat a word multiple times, she will attempt to repeat even if it's not that clear.  I havent officially started potty training her yet.  I do keep the potty chair in the bathroom.  The first week it was in there she peed twice!  I couldnt believe it, but now she has no interest in it. I dont force her. I think her using the potty is a game to her now.  Yesterday, she took her shorts off and was pointing and making a sound.  I asked if she had to use the potty and she replied back "potty". She ran into the bathroom.  I took her diaper off and she sat on the potty for maybe 2 seconds and got up and ran into the living room hysterically laughing. Lil stinker!!!!  Kaitlyn knows mostly all her body parts!  Yay!  She knows certain song riddles and can count to 3.  Everything is the color blue.  She loves acting like mommy and puts a bag or my pocketbook over her shoulder and says "bye bye". LOL

5/3/06 - Let's see.  What has Kaitlyn been up to lately.  Gosh, I didn't realize that she's 19 months now. Kaitlyn has finally been giving kisses...regular kisses and blowing kisses.  She even has the sound effects down pat.  I think she's discovered her nose.  Every once in awhile I will see a finger up there.  She thinks it's funny when you tell her to take it out of there.  She understands "sit" and  "stand". She knows when its time for a bath,  she will go in her room to lay down so I can take her pants off.  It's so darn cute!  I think ever since she no longer has the pacifier, her new thing is pulling the lint off her blanket and eating it.  It drives me nuts.  Sometimes she yanks it w/ her teeth.  Ugh, I swear I can see her pulling a tooth out. I guess blankets taste good. She says "Elmo, teeth, bubbles, bath"..of course, not that clear, but we understand.  She loves blowing bubbles and coloring or drawing lines is what she does best.  I think we're going to get a sandbox.  I was surprise to hear that she loved playing in the sandbox at my IL's house w/ her cousin.  I guess we need to get her one now.

04/03/06 - My baby girl is 18 months old.  Today we had her checkup.  Overall it was a good appt.  She weighs 18.9oz, shes 30 1/4 inches long. She gained almost a pound since her last well. The dr said its up near "the curve". Her height is right on track. She mentioned to put some hidden fats in her foods and give her regular food for snacks..instead of teddy grahams and such. I decided to take the PNP down yesterday.  She naps in her crib now and its pretty much has been a storage for all the bigger stuff animals.  It was great to get my living room back, but at the same time, its sad watching her grow up.

3/19/06 - Kaitlyn said cheese!  It was the cutest thing ever.  My mom asked her if she wanted some cheese and she put on this big cheesey smile and said "cheeeeese".  Then that night, Chris couldve sworn he heard her say "Elmo".  Oh boy!  Looks like the vocab is in full force now!
