Feb '08 - Carson turned ONE!!! and we had a big party! first we celebrated with the family - mommy/daddy/great grampi/uncle/opa and gramma. Gramma had the house all decorated while I was at work and she made delicious carrot cake muffins for the birthday cake. and a great casserole for dinner. so we ate dinner, cake and opened presents. It was a lot of fun for both mommy and daddy and ofcourse Carson. Then this past Saturday we had a joint birthday party for Carson and 3 of his friends who all turned one in the same week. We decided to do a joint party so all the friends didnt have to go to 4 parties within 2 weeks! and it was a great success, we had 10 babies in total there ranging from 2 mos to 1 year. and they all played and had fun and we put out a spread of great food and gave the boys healthy banana blueberry cupcakes for the birthday cake. it was so much fun and it pooped Carson right out, he went to bed right after the party at 5pm and slept until the next morning!!
Jan 16'07 - Well we had a super Christmas and wonderful holiday away! the cruise went great, Carson was an amazing traveller and really enjoyed all the new things to see and all the stimulation and attention from all the people! It was really great for him to spend a week with his entire family - great oma, great grandpa, grandma, opa, great auntie and uncle, uncle, cousins, and mom and daddy. Carson especially had a wonderful time interacting with his special cousins who are 7 and 9 yrs old and so good with Carson, and helped us out alot! All in all it was a great trip, nice and sunny and warm and lots of fun and good times with family.
we are now back and mommy is getting ready to go back to work! I start on jan 28th and have started leaving carson at daycare. it was really hard on me at first and i had a minor melt down but im doing much better now and think it will all work out fine. Carson actually loves daycare and is having a great time playing with all his new little friends.

I dont get to update the site too often so this way you will know when to check out for new pics and stories. and i will do my best to update it more often.
Carson is super duper! crawling and standing, laughing, giggling, smiling, and playing. all the fun stuff of a 9 month old. We are also getting very excited for our upcoming family holiday to mexico! and carson loves to play with all his little friends too, they are really starting to interact now, and its so cute. He has a little friend named Linden who is the same age and loves to crawl after him and carson just finds this hilarious, he laughs so hard that he starts squeeling.
ok, so we will keep the site. i will try to figure out how to notify you when its updated. there is some function where you can leave your email address and then the site tells you when ive updated. i will also add more pics very soon. ijust have to upgrade the site as i was downgraded for not paying and it wont let me add pics. Carson is doing fantastically. although last night was rough, he woke up every 20 minutes until 3 hours later we gave him some baby tylenol and he slept like a baby the rest of the night. so i think his teethe must have been bothering him. poor baby!
October 5, 2007 - We are considering cancelling this website. Before we do, I thought i would check to see how many people actually come on here and check and would miss the site if it weren't here. If there is enough demand from friends and family then by all means we will keep it. Please let me know if you think we should keep up the site. THANKS!!
Carson is great. He is crawling up a storm and so full of smiles and giggles. He is an absolute sweetheart. and he is eating almost everything now. He loves to play with his toys, but not as much as he loves playing with mom and dad and gramma and grampa!
Aug 26, 2007 - Well, we have just come back from our first holiday with Carson! We drove up to Francois Lake to visit my Grandpa at the RV Fishing Resort that he stays at all summer. We went with my parents and rented 2 cabins on the site. It was an 11 hour drive which we did over 2 days. Carson did wonderfully, he slept most of the drive, which was good and adjusted to being in a different place and different bed very well. We had a great time hiking and walking and fishing and boating and a little rest and relaxing too!
Carson is progressing along nicely, he will be 7 months old this week. He is eating solid food along with mama's milk. He eats carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, apples, bananas, avacado, and peas and rice cereal. And he is getting soooo close to crawling. He holds himself up in the crawl position, but just hasn't hit go yet. Daddy is installing a baby gate at the top of the stairs right now so we are prepared for when he figures it out.
July 1, 2007, We had a wonderful Canada Day long weekend. We had all the family up from Vancouver, it was so nice to see them all, and Carson especially has a great time with his cousins Sammy and Cole. We had 2 barbeques over the weekend and also took Carson in the swimming pool for his first time (with the help of Sam and Cole).
Carson is 5 months old now and doing soooo well. He is still a great little sleeping, and sleeping about 10 to 12 hours through the night, mommy is VERY lucky!! and in the day he is playful and happy and sweet. We are just having a ball with him. And he loves his daddy and grandparents so much, he instantly smiles at the sight of their faces. He is almost 16 pounds. Oh, and I have just started him on cloth diapers.....we will see how that goes!!
May 23'07 - The Penner's just had a wonderful weekend away in Vancouver. It was our first big trip with Carson, and he did sooooo well! He was a perfect little angel! We stayed at my cousins house and they were so great to us and made us feel right at home as always. Carson loved playing and being held by his cousins Sam and Cole, he is very lucky to have them! We also saw Grandpa Penner & Uncle Garth and Shane's best friend Gregg and my best friend Kandice. It was a busy busy weekend but we are so glad that we went.
May 13'07 - I had a wonderful FIRST Mother's day!! I got cards from my baby Carson and Daddy and also Daddy had a book made for me of pictures of my pregnancy and of Carson, it is soo cool and wonderful way to document memories. We went out for breakfast to Milestones and Carson was an angel (as always!) and then we went shopping. It was a great first Mother's Day. Thank you to Carson and Daddy!!
May 1, 2007 - Mommy and Daddy and Carson are all doing really well!! Carson is soooooo cute these days, he is full of smiles and they just melt my heart. He is very happy (unless he is hungry) and he is a joy to be around, I just love spending my days with him, it is truley the best job ever!! And also a very busy job!! Hats off to all the moms out there!! Carson is 3 months old now and weighs about 14 pounds. We have his Dr check up today and Im sure he will check out just fine.
Mar 18'07 - Mommy and daddy have been very busy and mommy is VERY tired. This is the hardest and most exhausting job ever!! Carson is a very good baby and we love him very much and love to watch him grow. He is making 'coo'ing sounds and also is smiling now. Today he gave a big smile to mommy and grandma. Oh, and thank goodness for Grandma!! She comes over everyday to hold and cuddle Carson and to help mommy out.
Kelly had her baby and did wonderful. She did so well eveyone is proud of her. Kelly and Carson are both doing well and are expected home very soon. Both Dad and Mom are very excited and happy to have this new bundle of joy in their life
Jan 22'07 - Well, we are just a couple weeks away from our due date! A baby could arrive at any time. Shane is over the moon and can not wait for the little guy to make an appearance. I on the other hand am enjoying my last couple weeks of quiet time and getting the house ready. Also, today I finally started my maternity leave and did not have to get up and go to work - what a change...but a very welcomed change.
Jan 10'07 - Daddy's a Journeyman!!!
We are very happy to report that Shane passed his IP Exam for his Electrical Apprenticeship and is now a full fledged
Journeyman Electrician!! He worked very very hard over this past 4 years and we are sooooo proud of him!
Jan 2'07 - We had a wonderful Christmas, and can not believe that we are in the final 4 weeks of pregnancy! We still have a lot of stuff to do and buy, and luckily I will have lots of help from Mom to set up the nursery and get the house ready and stuff. I am getting bigger and more uncomfortable, but I still love it and I love feeling my little monkey rolling around inside me, also, he gets the hiccups alot, which I find very cute.
Dec 22'06 - Wow, this pregnancy is going by soooooooo quickly! We can't believe there are only 6 short weeks to go. We are almost ready for Christmas, we both have a week off and then Im back to work for a couple more weeks and then off for maternity leave. I'm still feeling great and enjoying my pregnancy, my belly is starting to get big enough that it is sometimes in the way and uncomfortable, but most of the time its not that noticable and I love it. and Shane loves it too!
Nov 18'06 - my belly is getting bigger and bigger...by the day! Finally people can tell that I am pregnant and are making comments. I love watching my belly grow and its so fun to feel and see little movements in my tummy. Aside from the puking I really love being pregant (most of the time anyways)(it has its ups and downs)(but mostly ups).
Nov 9'06 - I got my first spanking from the doctor! (not literally, ofcourse), He told me my iron is in my boots, in other words, very very low. Apparently, this is very common for pregnant women as they are producing a whole lot more blood so there is less iron to fill it all. He gave me some iron supplements and I also went to the store and bought every iron rich food I could find.
November 6'06 - This past weekend Shane and I went to Vancouver for his 10 yr Grad Reunion. We had a wonderful weekend. We stayed with my cousin Krista and Greg and Sammy and Cole. They are so much fun and we had a great time staying with them; they made us feel right at home. It was a very busy weekend and exhausting for me at 6 months pregnant. We had a blast at Shane's reunion, everybody was so happy to see him and raved about what a great guy he is. I told them I know and that is why I have held on to him for almost 10 years! We also saw some of our good friend and Shane's dad and brothers and my 88 year old Oma. And with what little time we had left we made a quick trip to Ikea and bought some nice things for the house and the baby. Speaking of baby, he is quite active now and I feel him often throughout the day and I love it, its so much fun to feel little bumps and movements from him, it always makes me smile.
October 28th, 2006 - I thought I would write a short note about Daddy-to-be. Shane has been so so so wonderful and supportive this whole time, right from the get go. I got a big hi-five from him the minute we found out I was pregnant accompanied by his big grin that we all know and love and that hasn't left his face since. He has come with me to EVERY single doctors appointment, often armed with even more questions that I have. He took care of me when I was sick, made me countless meals that I would just throw-up and then he would go right back into the kitchen and try again and kept feeding me until something would stay down. Shane has made me laugh when I wanted to cry, and gave me courage when I thought I wasn't strong enough. His confidence, enthusiasm, support, and involvment in this pregnancy have taken away nearly all my worries and I am so excited to be on this journey with him.
