Last December, he looked at a photo of my friend Judy, who passed away at the age of 52 after many years of physical problems (the photo is on our refrigerator)and said,"I am so sorry for you Yiayia (Greek for grandma)and when I asked why, he said, "Because you have lost your friend, Judy!"You loved her very much, right?" I love seeing him paint and of course I love to read to them and tell them other stories from Greece and other places.
