Before I was a Mum, I never tripped over toys or forgot the words to a lullaby. I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous or what was around that could be harmful. I never thought about immunizations. I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts. I slept all night without any worries (well, usually).

Before I was a Mum, I never had to hold down a screaming child so doctors could do tests or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and just cried myself. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. I never sat up late for hours to watch a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mum, I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put them down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt. I never felt that something so small could affect my life so much. I never knew I could love someone so much. I knew one day I would love being a Mummy but words and thoughts do not compare to the real life feelings I now have. It's amazing!

Before I was a Mum, I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body. I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn't know that the bond between a Mother and her child could be so incredibly strong. I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mum, I never got up in the middle of the night every ten minutes to make sure everything was okay. I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment, or the satisfaction of being a Mum. I did not know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mum. I truly never knew what real love felt like until I had YOU....

STORIES

Another milestone today... Hannah started day-care. She had her first day today, just a half day to get her used to it, and was great! She settled in well, and had a great time playing with the other kids, she was so cool with it, she even took a nap there! The girls at the centre said she is bright, happy and social, but hey, we knew that!! :)

Hannah is walking! Yep, she's convinced she's the cleverest baby in all the land... she started taking a few steps about a week ago, and has now moved up to being able to cross the family room, even carrying toys etc. It's so lovely to see her big, proud grin as she walks over to me (or tries to get away from me!!).  If she happens to have a ha

Well, our little girl is officially one! I can't believe it's only been a year, but at the same time, I can't believe it's been a whole YEAR!!! She had a great time last week, on Thursday (her actual birthday) Nanna & Pa took her and Jason and I to Alma Park Zoo, where she had an absolute ball. She saw monkeys (her favourite!), deer, kangaro

Sorry it's been so long since the last update - life gets busy! It's amazing to think Hannah will be one in less than a week! I feel like we've all come so far! She's gone from being a tiny, still bundle of love to a hyper-active nearly toddler, and I've gone from a sane woman to a crazy lady!! I thought baby-brain was meant to have gone by now

A lot has happened since my last update! Hannah can crawl at warp speed, and is even pulling herself up to standing using the couch, bookcase, chairs, Mummy's pants, the dogs, you name it! She is such a happy baby, always smiling and babbling away, and loves getting out and about and charming anyone she meets along the way. Oh! And she cut her thir

It's amazing how far Hannah has come in just a few short months! She is now an expert at sitting up, can crawl (well, caterpillar - but she covers a lot of ground!), and a dozen other small things that constantly amaze me as she becomes more and more like a little girl, not "just" a baby! The most exciting news lately is that on Monda

Hannah's first Christmas was a really lovely time. Stayed tuned for more Christmas photos as I get them in from my family, there were so many cameras going off I didn't get a chance to take any of my own!! We stayed at Mum and Dad's on the Gold Coast for a few days, and it really gave us time to relax and share Hannah with the rest of her family. S

Jason and I took Hannah on her first holiday last weekend, to the Peppers Resort at Salt near Kingscliff NSW. It is such a beautiful spot, and we all had a great time, swimming in the pool, going for beach walks and visiting yummy restaurants. Hannah felt very grown up coming to breakfast and eating with us for the first time! And we collected a

Hannah has finally mastered rolling from her tummy onto her back! This of course means that she doesn't go to sleep when put in her cot, she practises rolling and ends up in some very interesting positions (I think she has a future in yoga!). She is also starting to sit up, and thinks she is very clever, as we all do, too!

Hannah is now rolling over! She can easily go from her back to on her tum, but is still mastering getting herself back over.  Won't be long til our little angel is tearing all around the place and I'll be fondly remembering the days she'd stay wherever I left her! But it's lovely to see how proud she is is of herself and watch her grow and
