Stories HELLO ALL! No, I haven't quit Jodie, LOL, life has been crazy! So we're in our new home, it's absolutely beautiful and still a work in progress but it has the homey feel and we just love it!!! Work is going well for both of us, hopefully only another month of Jay working 2 jobs, but it's going well. I recently got promoted to management at the bank so that was a huge accomplishment! Christmas was very fun, we were all blessed with being healthy and being able to be with our family on Christmas! Espen is a very lucky little boy having so many people love him and care for him, he has so many toys! Thank goodness Grandma and Grandpa Sample got him a toybox to put everything in for his birthday! His favorite toys right now are his mickey mouse airplane from Grandma and Grandpa Reed and all his cars and fire truck from Grandma and Grandpa Sample. I think he's going to be following in his cousin Chances' footsteps with the love of cars! Other than that our birthday party we threw for Espy went very well! We missed some family because of the big snow storm, but you all were with us in spirit! So thank you to everyone who helped, especially mom and rob, mom and dad reed, and cassie and the kids. It wouldn't have went as well without you guys! Well Espen keeps trying to get the computer, so I think it's time to go play! We miss and love you all! Hope to see you all soon! XOXOXOXO
So Espen was 8 months old yesterday, and I can't believe it! He has his two bottom teeth almost all the way in, he's crawling faster than I can keep up, and he walks along side the couchs and bounces up and down while he does it! It's too cute for words! I absolutley looooove him! So along with Espen growing like crazy, Jay is working both jobs right now.... so about 85 hrs a week. It's only for 6 months, but it's still a lot to take on. We were supposed to close on the house back in the middle of August, but they said we should close this week, o wait today is Friday, so I guess that makes it now next week. I dunno... this whole house thing is more stressful than planning the wedding and having a baby. Ridiculous. So once we know something about the house, and hopefully move in, ya'll will know. Lets hope its soon!
![]() So Espen was officially 7 months old yesterday! Can you believe it! Seems like he was just born, and here he is crawling around, pulling himself up like he's not my little boy anymore *sniff sniff*. He does amaze me though. He does something different everyday. Other than him growing up way too fast, the issue one tax levy vote is today. If it passes, Jay gets to keep his job. If it fails, he is laid off in January. So any extra prayers are appreciated. Espen just woke up from his nap, and he wants food. So I'll have to write later. Love and miss you all!
First, I apologize for not updating this in quite sometime.... life has been busy. And if you notice any misspellings, Espen is trying to type with me. He's been crying all night, teething, tired, just cranky, not really sure which, prolly all, so I'm holding him and he's trying to help mommy. So Father's Day was fun. I made Jay a scrapbook with pictures of Espen and him and he absolutely loved it! Then we just relaxed the rest of the day. So it was a nice family day. Work has been going well, at least mine..... next month columbus has to vote on issue 1 and if it doesn't pass 238 firefighters will be laid off. he will ebe one of them. i guess that even some guys that have been there foer eeten years received the letter. so please, please, please say some prayers for us. well espen is gettinge fd dee fdffussy and making this difficult, so fre ree he wo n't quit kicking the key board...... ok love you all. tty sooesn! Alrighty, well life has been crazy busy.... sorry for not having anything updated in quite some time.... my apologizes...... but it happens. So Espen is rolling over, drooling like a champ, eating baby food, formula, no more breastmilk (I'M FREED!), doesn't fit in the bassonette anymore, sleeping in his crib, and holds his head up completely by himself. So he's growing like crazy and changing everyday. It's weird, cause sometimes when I go to get him out of the crib in the morning, he looks different than when I put him to bed the night before.... like he's changed overnight. O boy, my little boy is growing up....... 5 months old on June 3rd! Can't believe it..... seems like yesterday he was kicking the crap out of my insides.... and now here he is becoming his own person, having a personality and being absolutely amazing. Other than that, hopefully getting the papers to close on our house in about a week or so; so that'll be nice. O and the CAVS just lost--- son of a gun. Well it's late and I'm extremely tired.... will try to keep the website updated more often. Love you all and Happy Memorial Day! Love, The Reed Family
WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!!!!!! o i'm so excited! It's the one in Granville with the 22 acres! We're so excited because we got it for a steal and it's like a dream come true:-) So Espen is also trying to roll over and that's really exciting! He's getting so big! Well I just wanted to give a quick update! Will write more later! Love and miss you all!
APRIL 6, 2009 DADDY WAS IN THE NEWS PAPER IN COLUMBUS!
April 6, 2009- So we put a bid in on a house!!! It's 21 acres, 2700 square feet, and is going to auction. We'll have to put a lot of work into it, but it's in Granville, which I guess is the best school district in Ohio, and in the top ten in the United States. So that is pretty cool. I can't wait to get a house..... I'm getting impatient. About two weeks ago, the lady in the apartment above us caught her apartment on fire. Thank goodness Jay was home cause he contained it until the fire department got there. This lady has caused soooo many problems since we've lived here. She's mentally unstable and is supposed to have a caregiver all the time, but only has one once a week which is ridiculous!!! But since she started this fire she's out of the apartment complex now. It was a very scary night. I've never seen Jason in his "firefighting action mode" before, and I hope to never see it again. LOL. So then Jay went to go make us an amazing dinner two nights ago, crab legs, steak, and baked potatoes with a salad. And I get home from work and Jay looks at me and said "i'm sorry, the romantic evening is cancelled" I look over at the corner of our apartment and a water pipe broke and soaked the entire carpet in the dinning room, went into the kitchen, and we had carpet cleaning guys at the apartment till about 11 that night. AAAAAHHHHHH i'm ready for a regular calm week. hahaha. So other than that, nothing much has been going, cause I don't need anything else going on:-) Well I hope everyone is doing good and hope to see family soon! Easter is coming up soon so Espen and I will be back home for the day. Jay has to work :-( so it'll just be us going back up north for the day. So we love you all! Talk to everyone soooooon:-)
So I've been back to work for about three weeks now. It's going really well, I did miss seeing all of my customers. And every day I'm there they always ask about my little man and since I love talking about him being back at work isn't too bad. Having Jay at home watching him is nice too. Not worrying about what a babysitter is doing, whether watching our son or texting her boyfriend; we're very fortunate that my manager is working around Jason's schedule so Espen can be with us. Uncle Jerry, Aunt Joann, and Kayla all watched Espen this past Sunday though because we both had to work. Espen did really well and he provided enough entertainment with his different faces for everyone to have a fun day. It is hard juggling full time working mom and wife, but I wouldn't change it for the world. The first week was the hardest, getting into a routine and everything. But once the first week was over, it was much better. It also helps that Espen is now sleeping about 7-8 hours every night. I forgot how 7-8 hours of sleep felt! I was so tired the next morning because I was getting more than 4-5 hours of rest! Last night though, Espen slept for about 8 1/2 hours! My boobs hurt like crazy, not gonna lie. But if that's all I have to go through then I'm fine with that! O and Espen had his two month check up! He was 12lbs 8 oz and 24 1/2 inches long! He's getting soooo big! He also had to get 5 shots, individual shots at that. Yes I cried more than he did. What happened was the nurse stuck him with two shots at one time, and he looked at her like "what do you think you're doing?", and then she pulled the shots out and he screeeeamed! But once Jay picked him up when all the shots were done he quit crying just like that. He's so brave. So other than that, nothing much has been going on. Just going to work, come home, feed Espen, feed myself, sleep, get up and do it all again the next day. And I think we're going for a family portrait next week too. So I'm excited about that. Still looking for a house though, there's always something wrong with a property we like. This is seriously stressful. We're limited to where we can go because with Jason's job we're only allowed to go in the county we're in now, and the surrounding ones. I found the perfect house, wrap around porch, basement, 6 acres of woods, a pond with a dock, beautiful kitchen, 4 bedrooms and 2 baths, AND it was in the county we're NOT allowed to live in. Just cross the line! It was only 42 minutes to work, and I would drive that far to have my perfect house, which it so totally was. But it will just have to wait, cause we can't move there. So that's what's going on in our lives. It really is a lot, just please say a prayer for us that we'll find the right house for right now. Cause that would take so much stress off.
So tomorrow is my first day back to work. After having almost 10 weeks off, it just might be a little difficult to get up and going in the morning! I am excited though because I do miss seeing some of my customers and coworkers; and to get back to dressing up and doing my hair and makeup are always a plus:-) I am going to however, miss Espen a lot. Just thinking about being away from him for a few hours the other day made me tear up. ooo i love him so much. But he'll be home with daddy, so at least I won't have to be worrying about him. And I think daddy will also be getting a little dose of how Espen is by himself for more than a couple hours. Should be a good time:-) They'll do great and have fun. So, back to work ma'am goes.
So Espen is starting to smile! (as you can prolly see from the recent pictures) It is so amazing watching him change everyday. And that's another amazing thing, that he changes daily! Always something new. Whether he starts noticing things like the little toys above his swing, or he turns his head in our direction whenever Jay or I speak. Amazing! That's all I have to say! So today was his monthly checkup, I KNOW A MONTH OLD ALREADY! before i know it he'll be asking to borrow the car, no no no, go ride ur tricycle... stay my little boy:-) Anyways, he is 10 lbs and 6 oz! 22 inches long. Can't believe it! The doctor was very happy about his weight gain and now every knows he never misses a meal! LOL His next appointment is in a month and he has to get 5 shots! Well it's 5 vaccines and I think maybe 3 actual shots. Thank goodness that Jay will be there though. Cause he can help the doctor hold him down to give him shots. O it gives me a knot in my stomach just thinking about it..... HE'S GONNA SCREAM! Well the little guy is waking up from his nap... he slept 4 1/2 hours today! why that can't happen during the night? I just don't know..... ok he's getting impatient, another trait from his ma'am:-)
So last night was another rough night for breastfeeding. Little turd bird would get up just about every hour and a half, and when I would start feeding him he would fall asleep about 5 minutes after. And let me tell you, waking him up is relentless. He doesn't wake up unless he WANTS to wake up, LOL. He is sleeping right now, which means I should be too, especially since Jay is working till 8 am tomorrow, but it's nice to just have him lay here and to just watch him sleep. It's truely amazing and a wonder how you can love someone so much, and it was instant. You didn't have to know them first or anything. Just the fact that you got to see your precious little one, was enough to love them more than life itself. I just pray every night that I can be the mom he needs me to be. And that our family is always close and nothing comes between us. Well my eyelids are getting heavy, and maybe some food and sleep isn't such a bad idea afterall. But with my luck I'll move and he'll be wide awake ready to stare off into space for an hour... LOL. We'll see what the day brings:-) Much love to you guys and miss you tons
So today is officially 4 weeks since our pride and joy has been born! I can't believe it! He has already grown out of his newborn clothes and is wearing 3 month old clothes. The 0-3 months don't fit him when he goes to stretch out..... crazy I know! He's growing up so fast and it's only been a month! He goes to his doctor appointment on the 3rd of February and I can't wait to see how much he's grown and weighs! I'm gonna say close to ten pounds??? Other than that, he's been doing pretty good! Still only sleeping about 3 hours and then feeding, but he's only a month old. So hopefully he moves up to at least 4 hours throughout the night here soon! Well I think that's all for now, keep ya'all updated! XOXO
