Happy Thanksgiving!
This holiday season is upon us already, and Baby Home Pages would like to make you aware of the amazing work that the organization "A Child’s Place" is doing in our local community. This non-profit organization, located right here in Charlotte, NC, provides a much needed, safe, stable environment for homeless children to get the education they need to succeed. Another goal of A Child’s Place is to provide parents with services for long term self-sufficiency. We asked them why they do the work they do.
“Homelessness for children isn't just about where they lay their heads at night; it's about where their heads are during the day at school, too. School is often the only normal part of a homeless child's life. Support from A Child's Place means homeless children wear clothing and shoes that fit, get needed medical care, receive the attention of a caring tutor, and carry the same school supplies as the other kids. These and other services allow homeless children to focus on their homework and learning, not on feeling alienated and left behind in their school work.”
To celebrate the season of giving, we are donating 10% percent on all orders on our new Baby Home Pages Shop to A Child’s Place. If you are still looking for that perfect gift, why not give the gift of memories? Buy a Super Baby Club membership for that special someone by purchasing a gift certificate through our new shop and help us give back to our and other BabyHomePages.net members’ local community.
Anyone who would like to make donations to A Child’s Place can view a wish list of needed items on their website, http://www.achildsplace.org/wishlist.html.
In the Suggestions forum on Talking About Kids let us know of other non-profits that you would like us to spotlight in a future newsletter.
We know that we speak for all Baby Home Pages members in wishing you and yours a wonderful holiday season and its many accompanied blessings. Whether you are staying at home this holiday season, or are traveling like so many of us do, enjoy the season and be thankful for one of the most valuable things money cannot buy, family.
Until Next Time,
