5 Flavor Poundcake
3 sticks butter
3 cups sugar
3 cups flour
5 brown eggs
½ teaspoon baking powder
dash of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla (try to get the real deal-see my note at the
bottom)
1 teaspoon lemon
1 teaspoon coconut
1 teaspoon rum
1 teaspoon almond
1 cup milk
1 lemon
2 cups confectioner’s sugar
Cream butter & sugar, add eggs one at a time, beating well,
gradually add dry ingredients, milk and flavoring. Bake about 1
hour (sorry old recipe, just wing it) at 350* in a large flower
tube pan thing.
Glaze:
Mix together 2 cups sifted confectioner’s sugar, 1 tsp lemon
juice, ½ tsp grated lemon rind and 3 tbsp. water. Mix until
smooth, pour over hot cake. And let it soak in......
How to make Natural Easter Egg Dyes
Boil each of the ingredients in three cups water, 1 tbls of vinegar
and 1 tsp alum powder for about 15-20 minutes. Drain dye through
a coffee filter to dye eggs.

½ cup chopped red cabbage |

¼ cup chopped red cabbage and ½ tsp turmeric |
| Purple |
¼ cup red cabbage and 1-2 grated beets OR ¾
cup of grape juice concentrate |
| Yellow |
Handful yellow onion skins or 1 tsp turmeric |
