February 2009 - Ben is growing and growing.  He is still in newborn clothes but is outgrowing his jammies.  He started to give a few little smiles for Mom and Dad during playtime.  Still working on tummy time and being interested in any toys.  He is a good eater and does not like to wait around for Mom when he is hungry.  Sadly, not sleeping through the night, we usually get one 4-5 hour stretch in the carseat.  The swing is becoming a fast favorite (thanks, Heather!).  Big Brother Sam is anxious for more awake and play time.  Two week check-up 7# 3oz, 19 inches.  Sam also had a doctor visit for his first ear infection.  He recovered quickly, but we had to come up with lots of tricks to get him to eat the antibiotic tablets.

Busy month with Sam's hockey - he should be ready to be on his own next year - and sports class at Keva.  Lots of spectating at cousins hockey games too.  Mom's office hosted a welcome baby party for her and Ben.  We went to the circus with Morgan and Addy.  Sam and Eric were ecstatic to ride the elephant!  Last but not least we vacationed in Florida, thanks to Grandpa Terry.  As Sam often says, "it was a wonderful vacation."  Sam loved playing on the beach and swimming in the pool.  His Dad would yell "jellyfish alert" while we were walking in the sand.  Ben loved snuggling in the shade with the ocean breezes.

Week 1 - Benjamin Frances Anderson was born on Thursday, January 22nd at 8:53 am.  He was on schedule for his C-Section at 39 1/7 weeks unlike his impatient brother.  He was delivered by Mommy's partners, Dr. Wendricks and Dr. Neidhart.  This time around Mom was more nervous and Dad was more relaxed.  Everything went well, and we stayed in the hospital until Saturday.  Big brother Sam was among the first visitors.  Grandma Vinnie and Grandpa Larry brought him in after his Christmas program at school.   He was so excited about his baby brother that it made his Mom cry.  Sam got to have sleepovers at Auntie Nina's and Grandma Vinnie's but was anxious to have Mom, Dad and Ben at home.  We appreciate all of the visitors while we were in the hospital and at home.  Ben is a very lucky boy to have so many friends and family, and we are very lucky to have him with us.  He went in for a weight check on Monday and was back up to 6# 12 oz.  He is getting to be a good little eater.  We will take him back in for a check-up at two weeks.  Maybe he will be sleeping through the night by then (HA HA!)  Adjusting to two kiddos is a little tricky, but we are loving every minute of it!
