On June 12, 2004 Michael & I were blessed with our 1st child. We had hoped and prayed so long for this day that it was hard to believe it was finally here. Sawyer James was born at 3:37am via emergency c-section after a very hard labor. He weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces and was perfectly healthy. He may have not been an easy delivery but he sure was an easy baby! He slept good, ate great and was a very happy baby. Our dream of being parents were finally here and Sawyer could not have made it any easier!  We chose the name Sawyer because we wanted something unique. One of my favorite authors is Mark Twain and one day while Mike & I were trying to think of names, I saw my Mark Twain collection and said, "What about Sawyer?" Mike loved it. His middle name, James, came from a friend of mine who died when we were 16.

After so many years of trying to get pregnant with Sawyer, imagine our surprise when just 4 months after Sawyer was born we found out we were expecting again. What a shock that was! Savannah was born August 4, 2005 at 7:40am. I was scheduled to have a c-section on the 15th when Little Miss Nana decided she didn't want to wait. And she has been headstrong and demanding her own way ever since. If I thought Sawyer was a good sleeper, Savannah was even better. Before we left the hospital, she was already sleeping 6 hours straight at night. I know mother's must hate me when they hear this. I don't know how I got so lucky with 2 great sleepers!!
Â
Mike & I had a hard time coming up with Savannah's name. Everything I liked, he hated and vice versa. I don't think we even officially named her until she was 3 days old. We both decided we liked the name Savannah and when we decided that would be her name a few hours later a young woman working for the hospital taking newborn pictures came in. Lo & behold her name was Savannah. When we asked how she liked her name, she told us she loved it. We also both liked the name Reese (it was in the possibilities of 1st names) and we liked how it sounded with Savannah.
... fun days at Disneyland, playful times at the park, going on adventures, hot Summer days at the beach, cool Fall days at the Pumpkin Patch, cold Winter days playing in the snow, and warm sunny Spring days playing outside, popcorn movie nights in our jammies, tickle sessions with Mommy & Daddy, bed~time stories, cuddling on the couch listening to the rain, drinking hot chocolate with marshmallows. We love Darth Vader, and pirates, and princesses, Cinderella and Peter Pan, Captain Jack Sparrow, Snow White, and Buzzlightyear. We love Mickey Mouse, The Wonder Pets and Yo Gabba Gabba. But most of all, we love our family, friends and Jesus!
Wow! Sawyer and Savannah have been sooooo busy, which means Mommy & Daddy have been so busy. Where to start??
The day before Halloween, I was able to go to Sawyer's classroom and read a story to his class. For the occasion, I chose It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Unfortunately, that morning I woke up with laryngitis which made reading the...
