22 May 2008

Okay, it's been a long time since we've updated this site.  I'm sorry to those of you that check it often.  It's been a little crazy around here.

Let's see, February was the last time I was on, so we'll go from there.  March was pretty uneventful.  Benjamin had his 2 month appointment and he was already 24.5" and about 12.5 lbs.  So, needless to say he is growing like a weed and still is.  Danielle had her 15 month check up with lots of shots too.  She was at 25.5lbs and 32.5".  So, Benjamin is catching up to her.  It's crazy that he is as tall as Danielle when she is on her knees.  So, I'm thinking it's only a matter of time before he towers over her.

April: This was our busy month.  I had 2 showers for military families that we put on.  The first was on the 5th for about 10 moms up in Twenty-nine Palms (there is really nothing there) and the second was on the 26th near where we live for 14 moms and 16 babies (one is expecting triplets).  Additional to all that excitement, Danielle had another seizure on the 13th followed by a longer one on the 15th.  During the seizure on the 15th, it lasted at least 10 minutes and started prior to me getting out of the shower and hearing her seizing.  She actually stopped breathing during this seizure.  So, needless to say, it's getting much more real for us at this point.  Grandma and Grandpa Felshaw also came to visit, but it wasn't that much fun this time, since Danielle needed to go back to the hospital that weekend.

That brings us to this month, May: We were able to make contact with a really great group that has been making large donations to us at Operation Showers of Appreciation.  With those donations we'll be able to help about 30+ families with crib bedding and things like that.  Very exciting news for us.  Mom also came to visit.  She was able to come stay with us while Josh was sent over to Florida doing some training.  It was very helpful to me and I know Danielle and Benjamin really enjoyed it too.  The only bummer is we were sick and now mom is really sick.  Hopefully she'll get rid of that soon.  Great news this month is Danielle finally has an appointment for an EEG and to see the Neurologist.  It's scheduled for June 4th and 5th.  So, hopefully we'll get some answers and an idea of what is going on with her.  Hopefully there will be no more seizures and we can all relax for a bit.  Another really funny thing................................................. I had to give my 4 month old son a haircut!!!!!!!  His hair is just growing so much that people thought he was a little girl.  It was starting to curl on the ends in the front and back.  So, we just had to make him look a little more like a little boy.

I think that is about it.  Other than that, it's been pretty boring over here.  Just waiting for the temperature to level out.

Love,

Josh, Kim, Danielle, and Benjamin

Feb. 10th

Well, Danielle is doing really good with the baby.  We are still working on the meaning of gentle, but it's going good.

I think they are just not sure of each other at this point.  Benjamin is doing just fine.  His first Dr. appointment is on the 28th.  Hopefully he is gaining weight and doing well.  It's really difficult breastfeeding.  We don't understand or know how much food he is actually getting.

The Giants won last weekend and Josh was so excited!  Here are pics of our little Giants Fans:

It was a great game!  Can't wait until next season.  We'll have a cheerleading outfit for Danielle and a jersey for Benjamin.

I'll post more after his appointment.  Mom and Dad will also be visiting with Uncle Tom and Cassandra shortly after his appointment, so I'll add some pics of that.  I add all the photos to the shutterfly account listed below.  So, be sure to check out that link.  You can also add photos of you and the families there if you like.  Be sure to add any comments and tell us how you are doing.

January 27th

Benjamin Joshua Felshaw II has arrived safely on the 17th.  He was born at 1210 in the afternoon by c-section and is doing great.  He has almost gained back his birth wieght and is eating like a champ.  At birth he was 7.7lbs and 18.5 inches.  I think he looks like his daddy, but it's still really hard to tell.  But, him and Danielle look very different.  It's nice having him here.  Just getting used to those sleeping patterns and Danielle's tantrums that are killing us.

We posted all the pics we have of him on the shutterfly account.  It's listed below.  If anyone else has any other photos of him, please add them.  I wasn't able to get as many as I would have liked at the hospital.  But, there will be so many more to come.

December 3rd

Danielle is One Year Old now.  It's crazy how time has flown by.  She did so good at her birthday party this past weekend.  You have to see all the photos.  I've added some to this site and the rest are at www.thefelshawfamily.shutterfly.com  It was really cute, she had cake all over in her hair.  It rained, but we did have some friends and family that came to celebrate with us.  It was a really good time.  She was definately spoiled this year.  I don't know what we are going to do with her birthday so close to Christmas.  Then Benjamin will be here in 6 weeks.  Everything is happening all at once it seems.  It's just a bit overwhelming right now.  But we are both very excited for his arrival.  I'm sure the grandparents are too!

We hope you are all doing well and hope to hear from you soon.

Happy Thanksgiving!

November 22nd

Danielle had her first Thanksgiving today.  It was great.  She loved just about everything.  I'm not sure if she liked the turkey all that much.  It took her forever to chew the tiny pieces then she just kind of played with them.  Maybe it was the texture.  She loved the yams, stuffing, and potatoes.  You can see some great pics of her.  I put a few on this site and the rest are on the shutterfly site.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving with your families.  Hopefully we will get to see some of those family photos soon.  We miss everyone!  In the meantime, we will be preparing for Danielle's First Birthday next Saturday.  It's still really hard for me to believe that she is already a year old.  It's crazy.  Baby Benjamin will also be arriving in 8 short weeks.  That is crazy too!  Two little ones running around.  It will be hard, but I'm up for it.

Happy Thanksgiving again to everyone and we hope to hear from you soon!

November 20th

Well, we are preparing for Danielle's first Thanksgiving.  We've got the turkey, potatoes, and pie fillings.  We just need to get some yams, marshmellows, pie crusts, stuffing, rolls, and anything else I've forgotten.  Can't forget the Cool Whip!  So, she should be all set for her first Thanksgiving.  I can't wait to take photos of her eating all that good food.  She is getting so big.  She'll be ONE YEAR OLD next week.  It's just flown by so quickly.  I can't beleive it.

Danielle's first birthday gift was a really cute pink poodle that has a certificate for a star we can put in her name.  It's really a neat idea.  I only wish we had a telescope so we could show it to her.  Maybe when she is bigger.  I've got to figure out where it's located in the sky first.  Her second birthday gift came in the mail today from her Grandma Mary and Granny.  A really cute Storybook Rhymes toy.  She loves it, anything that plays music and has buttons is perfect for her.  She also loves the color pink.  It's all she wants now.

I'm going to update with photos on Friday.  Josh will be off work until Monday at noon starting tomorrow so I'll be able to get allot of stuff done.  I only have 6 weeks left until I graduate.  Then only 9 more to go before Benjamin makes his debute.  I can't believe we are going to have two little ones running around.  I know this sounds crazy, but I want one more.  Everyone tells me to wait unitl this one gets here to make that decision, but I know I really want another little baby.  We'll see on that.

Well, everyone have a Happy Thanksgiving and I look forward to seeing those family photos added to our shutterfly account.  I hope someone can add the photos from Uncle Tom's Christmas party for us to see.  We really miss everyone and hope to make the trip out there soon.

Love you all.

Happy Halloween!

Danielle put her Fairy Princess costume on for a few minutes before getting very scared with it on.  I think it's just a little too much for her yet.  But she loved it at first.  I was able to get a few great shots.  You'll have to check them all out on the shutterfly account.  I only put a couple on this site.

10/30/2007

Well, it's been a while since I've been able to find time to update this site.  Sorry.  Miss Danielle is getting bigger.  She is just growing like a weed and wants to eat everything she sees.  I guess that's why she is growing so much.  At her last appointment a few weeks ago, she weighed in at 22.5 lbs and was about 21" long.  She will be 11 months on the first of November.  It's crazy how tall she is.  I think she will be taller than me when she's all grown up.  Yikes!!!

I just had an appointment for baby Benjamin today.  Everything is fine.  The doctor told me to start cutting back on my carbs now.  He says that will help after baby gets here to lose the weight.  I'm going to try.  I make no promises.  But other than that everything is just fine.  I now will be going every two weeks to see the doc instead of 4.  I can't believe I'm in my third trimester already.  The time has just flown by so quickly.

Well, as many of you may have seen on the news, last week we were hit by some major wildfires in our area.  It was very hard staying inside with the heat and no AC.  But we got through it.  Our homes are fine here on base.  There were a few scares but, everything turned out okay.  No structure damage on base and everyone is back in their homes now.  Hopefully that will be the last of the fires this year.  Maybe some rain will be next.

On November 10th, some ladies that I worked with from my organization Operation Showers of Appreciation are throwing us a baby shower for baby Benjamin.  I worked with them on baby showers for other military families throughout the year.  We are looking forward to it.  Having two little ones in diapers will be tough and getting a little help with those things is always appreciated.  If you want to see more about my organization and what we do, you can check us out at www.OperationShowersofAppreciation.com  We are working on our 501c status so we can accept more donations.  It's getting really exciting.  I can't wait for it to soar.

I think that is it for now.  I hope everyone has a great week and Happy Halloween.  We can't wait for next year when Danielle will be a little bigger and maybe into dressing up and all.

I almost forgot, we want to see family pics from everyone.  So, I've set up a place on the shutterfly link below that you can add your family pics for all to see.  I just talked to Aunt Teresa's girls and I can't believe how big they are.  It's hard being so far away.  I just feel so old when I hear how old they are and see how big they are.  So, either send us your pics via email or add them to the shutterfly account.  We also need email addresses to forward our Christmas pics to this year.  Just drop in on us at thefelshaws@cox.net

Look forward to seeing those pics and hearing from everyone.

9/9/2007  Well, I think just about everyone knows about baby Benjamin.  As of now, my due date is set for January 22nd and seems to keep changing with every appointment I've got.  He is healthy and there are no signs of any trisomy or other disabilities at this time.  We are both very thankful for that.  It's pretty exciting having a boy and overwhelming at the same time.  It's going to be difficult with two in diapers, but Danielle is a really good baby and I don't think we'll have many problems from her if any.

Josh just went back to his old unit at 3rd AAV.  He is back in the fleet and right now we really don't know too much about what is going on with him.  He could be deployed sometime within the next year but we won't know for sure until they get him into a more permanent company.  I'll let everyone know as I find out.

Danielle has her 9 month check up this coming Thursday then we are off to Grandma and Grandpa Felshaw's for the weekend.  It's Josh's birthday and he and his dad will be doing some camping and fishing.  I can't wait for the cake!!!

I think that is about it.  Nothing too exciting around here just yet.  The dogs are still good and school is going by quickly.  I graduate in December.  So, that means I get to go back to work next year.

I'll write again after Danielle's appointment so everyone can hear about how big she is now.

Love ya!

8/28/2007  Okay, so here is the big secret..........  We know the sex of our new baby, but my mom doesn't know yet and she'll actually find out tonight when I pick her up at the airport.  So, I'm going to appologize now if you happen to get one of those late night Chappelear phone calls.  Well, ............................................................................................................................................

............................................................................................................................................

............................................................................................................................................

IT'S A BOY!!!!!!!

Benjamin Joshua Felshaw II will arrive in January 2008.  So, I guess this means we can't use any of Danielle's clothing.  LOL.

Rembmer, don't tell my mom!  She should be at the airport now waiting to leave Las Vegas.  She arrives in San Diego around 9:30 tonight.

8/7/2007  My mom, dad, and Caleb came out to visit this past weekend.  We had our photos taken.  You can see a few of them on the pictures page and the rest are on our shutterfly link.  We had a great time.  Danielle was sad to see them go.  She is finally getting back to her regular schedule since they left on Sunday.  It didn't realize how much visitors affect her.

7/31/2007  We had another doctor appointment yesterday afternoon.  Everything sounds okay with the new baby.  The doctor is trying to send us to a special hospital with a great genetics department for our 20 week ultrasound.  Hopefully the insurance will cover it.  That way we will be aware of anything that may pop up.  All of this is a precaution being done because of Allysa's disease.

Danielle went into the doctor a couple weeks ago because she is having some minor problems going to the bathroom.  She is doing a little better now.  But that prune juice doesn't seem to be working anymore.  So we have to try another fruit juice before going to medications for her.  We are working with it.  Hopefully it won't bother her too much longer.  She's eating more vegetables with dinner and things so, we'll see.  She did weigh in at 18lbs at that appointment.  She is just getting so big.  She can pull herself up to stand by the couch, crawls all over the floors, climbs the stairs and is talking up a storm.  She didn't understand the scooting down the stairs just yet, but we are working on that.  I'll get some more pics up soon.  This weekend we are getting our photos taken with my mom and dad and Caleb.  I'll post those as soon as I can.

7/9/2007  Sorry it's been so long.  So much has gone on here.  I'm working with two different organizations on two different large events for the military.  One is a Baby Shower for Expectant military moms and the other is called Heroes Summer Christmas.  They are both turning out to be larger events.  But it's almost over so, I'll have a little extra free time until the next event.  I love it though.

Well, we had our family photos taken last month and I've put several of them on the pictures page.  The rest of them can be found on our shutterfly account.  You don't have to be a member to veiw them.  Just veiw the photos.  There are also others in the collection.  Be sure to check those out and see how big Danielle has gotten.  She is really turning into a little lady.  It's so cute.  It's just going too fast.  She crawls all over the house and pulls herself up onto some things.  It's way too cute.  Some day we'll get a video camera and share those moments that way.

6/18/2007  Danielle was in her first baby pool today.  She absolutely loved it.  I've added a few pics to show it.  She did get a little too red on her back side.  So, we just haven't found the right sunscreen yet.  We did get allot put on her.  I guess it just wasn't enough.  I do feel really bad about it.  She doesn't seem to be bothered by it just yet.  Hopefully tomorrow will be good.

6/16/2007  Well, not too much has been going on here.  Danielle is starting to try and crawl.  So, it should be any day now that she starts.  As you can see she has her first bikini and Josh wasn't too happy about it until he seen how cute she was in it.  LOL!  It has been confirmed by the doctor that I'm pregnant!  Right now our due date is set for January 17th.  It's still new and we are just not sure what to think about it.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!

5/27/2007   Well, we recently were told some pretty good news..........................

Yes, we are expecting another little Felshaw sometime in January.  So it's just a little overwhelming since Danielle will only be a year old in December.  We are both excited but concerned.  With everything we've been through it's really great being able to get our family started.  We had not planned on this happening until the end of this year or beginning of next.  Hoping that Danielle would be almost 2.  So it will be difficult for a while, but hopefully they will be close and maybe this time we'll have a little boy!!!!!

My first doctor appointment is set for June 8th, I'll let you all know a little more after that.

5/25/2007  So, if you watch Dr. Phil, you may have seen me on it today.  I was wearing a red shirt (it was Valentines Day when they taped it) and went with my friend sitting next to me.  It was a crazy show and unfortunately living out here in Cali you really see allot of "Girly Men" out and about.  Check it out if still can.

5/25/2007   Today Josh didn't have to work because of the holiday and we went up to visit with the ladies from South Shores.  It was great we had lunch and they got to visit with the baby.  Danielle was so cute today.  She was dressed in one of her little princess outfits and had piggytails in her hair.  I love that I can play with her hair and she lets me.  She has started getting a little fussy lately with more teeth coming in.  So, I guess that is what it's like to have a fussy baby?????

5/24/2007   Okay so those teeth that little babies have really do hurt.  She broke skin just chompin down on one of my fingers.  So, we won't be doing that anymore.  Anyone have any good ideas for teething toys or anything else that works?  The baby orajel really isn't doing much for her.  She likes it when I put ice in one of her little food nets, but gets bored really easily with it and just wants to cry.  Any help in this area would be great!!!!!!

She is also moving around much more. Loves to roll all over the carpet, so we need to start looking at baby gates.  Hasn't started crawling yet, but she really tries.  She's just so adorable and we are so blessed to have her.

5/14/2007  My first Mother's Day was pretty good.  I asked Josh to take care of Danielle so I could finish my school assignments for the week.  It went by really quickly then we just relaxed with each other and watched some television and played with the baby.  It was a great day.

As you can see by some of her photos, she is rolling over all the way now both from her tummy and back, and she loves to sleep on her tummy.  It's so cute.  She keeps trying to crawl.  So, I figure that will start happening soon.  She is just getting so big.

5/14/2007  Danielle keeps trying to crawl.  It's really cute.  She just hasn't gotten the concept that her arms need to hold her up while her legs move.  But, she keeps trying.  She really loves her bouncer and loves to be on her belly.  She won't sleep at night unless she's on her belly.  She is also eating more solid food now.  She didn't car for the karrats as you can see from the front page and they always end up all over her face.  She has a tooth that broke through, but her gums are so swollen right now you can't feel it anymore.  So, there must be more coming in.  Thank God I'm not breast feeding anymore! LOL

5/7/2007  We have our first tooth that has broken through this weekend.  She wants to put everything in her mouth even more now.  It's really cute!  She also has started rolling over from her back to her tummy and still from her tummy to her back now.  I have to really watch her when she's on the floor now.  Her hair is getting so much longer as you can see from the pictures I just added.  She is also growing like a weed!  She into 6-9 months size clothes and will be outgrowing size 2 shoes anytime now.  I wish I had a video camera to add some audio and video clips of her laughing.  It's the cutest thing I've ever heard.  I'll keep adding more pictures and have also started another gallery of photos at

thefelshawfamily.shutterfly.com

It's a great site and I like that other people can add photos also.  So, if you would like to add any photos you want to share with us, just start a new album and add them.  We'd love to see how big everyone is now.  It's been so long since I've seen most of you.  I feel so old, "30" next year!  But my dad says that I don't get any older than "29".  So, I guess that's good. Don't forget to check out the pictures.

4/24/2007  It's been a while, but a lot has been going on lately.  Josh is home from Alaska!  We went up to visit his family and friends in Salinas and Corning the first week of April.  Danielle met her Great Grandmother Jessie.

.

We got home on the 10th and Grandma and Grandpa Chappelear came to visit on the 12th - 15th.  We got a phone call that said Grandma Jessie had passed away and made another trip up North.  We are finally trying to get everything back to normal now.  So much going on it's just been hard to update this.  But we are back on track now.  Make sure you check out the picture page for more photos.

JOSH GOT PROMOTED TO STAFF SERGEANT ON THE FIRST!!

4/23/2007   Well Josh's tour is up at AVTB now.  That means he needs to decide what he wants to do for the rest of his enlistment.  If he decides to reenlist, then he will go to another unit for 3 years before going somewhere else.  Our choices are back to the Amphibious Assault Battalion or to Hawaii.  Either one is fine.  In Hawaii, he wouldn't be deployed that often.  Only for a few months at a time and would only be in Iraq for a few weeks.  In AABN, he could be placed in a company that goes directly to Iraq every other year for up to a year and then to Japan in the offtime.  We would not be able to go with him to Japan.  Or he could be in a company that deploys on ships every year and a half.  They would be in Iraq for up to two months during that deployment.  So, we are still waiting to find out what he wants to do.  Anything is fine with me.  I'll support him with it all.

4/22/2007  The baby shower that I was helping with was today.  Everything turned out really nice.  Everyone was happy and there were no problems.  It's a releif to have it.  But I am looking forward to having another one.  It's so great to be able to help these families out.  I know they really need it and it's so appreciated by all of them.

4/19/2007  We just got back from our long trip today.  The services were really beautiful and everything went well.  We have eaten way too much food, but that is to be expected while traveling.  Hopefully things will start to get back to normal soon.  So much for weight watchers this past couple weeks.

4/13/2007   Well, we got some bad news today.  Grandma Jessie passed away.  Josh is a bit sad but handling it pretty well.  We are planning on going back up to Corning on Monday for her services.  Danielle stayed with Grandma & Grandpa Chappelear tonight while Josh and I went out with some friends.  Take a look at their babysitting skills..................LOL!!!

They did a really good job!  Everything went well.  Even the dogs were good that night!

4/9/2007  Well our trip went really well.  Danielle got to meet her Great Grandma Jessie, Aunt Sylvia, Uncle Curtis, Grandma Maria, her cousins, and so many more family members.  We didn't take as many pictures as I would have liked to.  Next time.  We are just getting settled in and ready for Grandma & Grandpa Chappelear to come on Thursday!

4/3/2007  Danielle had her 4 month check up today.  She is over 14lbs now and measuring up to 26.5".  She is just getting so big.  She is really looking less like a little baby and more like a little girl everyday.  We are so blessed with a beautiful healthy little angel.  We are leaving today to drive up North to visit family and friends.  It's about a 6-7 hour drive depending on traffic.  I hope everything goes well.  We are leaving a little behind schedule. (nothing new) Ha! Ha! Ha!  Well, we will see how it goes.

3/31/2007 Josh is home!  It was great when he came in the door, me and the baby were upstairs and came down to see him.  The dogs were crazy when he came in the door.  Danielle's face just lite up as soon as she seen him.  It was great.  He usually has a tan and it's kind of weird seeing him without one.  He is almost as light as I am right now.  It's so good to have him home.  He couldn't beleive how big she had gotten.

3/19/2007  Josh called today and said they may be home now on the 31st.  We are both really excited.  This time of the year is hard to deal with, without him here.  I know I have others to talk to but, Josh is my best friend and it's just easier to talk to him.  He can't wait to see the baby and I can't wait for him to see how big she has gotten since he's been gone.  She is eating rice cereal now too.  Not too much of it.  I think she just likes how easy that bottle is, but she is getting the hang of it.  She is also starting to roll over now.  That is a little scary for me too.  I have one of those sleep positioners for her at night.  She is also laughing, giggling, and doing "baby talk" more.  It's so cute.  Everytime she's sees me when she wakes up and I'm looking down at her, she just gets the biggest smile I've ever seen.  It really makes you feel good.  I can't wait for Josh to feel that.  I know he won't want to put her down.

I can't wait!!!!!!  Only 12 days left!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3/17/2007  Well, today was hard for me so I tried to keep myself busy.  We are having another baby shower for other military moms and needed to deliver to some of them today because they will be having their babies before the shower.  We had to put together a crib, which wasn't too easy.  That kept me occupied until around 3 or 4 then I went shopping with a friend.  It wasn't too bad until I got home.  I couldn't help but cry.  I think it's the fact that we should have 2 little girls not just one here with us.  I can't help but think about how big Allysa would be now.  She'd be 2 years old, wearing little dresses, playing with dolls, have little pigtails in her hair, and be saying "mommy" and "daddy" all the time.  I know that everything has happened for a reason and that we are so blessed with a perfectly healthy baby now, but I can't help but miss what I don't have or better yet, never got to see.  I think that is the hardest part of all of this and I know it will be like this every year.  I think the worst may be when she would have been 16, graduating from high school, fell in love, got married, had children, the list goes on.  Who knows, maybe God's plan for us is to bless us with a few more children.  That would be great.  It's funny how when I was growing up I never wanted a large family and now I do.

3/14/2007  We went to the doctor today because it seemed there was blood in her diaper.  Thank God it wasn't.  Even the doctors thought is was and tested it 3 times.  Unfortunately, it was Danielle's first experience with the thermometer in that special place doctors like to put it.  She cried the entire appointment after that.  She did have a fever but I was assured it was still normal and she is in perfect health.  They figured that the discoloration in her diapers came from the dye in the medicine that was prescribed to her.  It was very scary seeing that for the first time.  It worried me and I guess I am just a little over protective this time of the year.  But, she did very well and is absolutely perfect in every way.  Nothing to be worried about.  Oh and our little piggy is over 13 pounds now and up to 6 ounces at every feeding too.  She is getting so big.  I don't think Josh will recognize her when he gets home.

03/10/2007  Well, we have had a pretty good week.  Danielle is looking much better since giving her the medicine for her eye.  I think she may be going through another growth spurt or something because she is sleeping all the time.

This is the before shot with her eye infection

You can see that it's pretty bad.  Here she is almost back to normal.....

03/07/2007  Today we flew back from Las Vegas with Grandma.  It was a good visit.  Dad and Caleb were surprised at how big she has gotten.  She is just growing like a weed it seems.  We did have to visit the urgent care out in Kingman.  Danielle had an eye infection that was starting to spread.  I have had to give her oral antibiotics and drops into her eye.  She doesn't cry or anything when she gets her medicine.  I think we have really been blessed with a very good little girl.

3/01/2007  Today we had our first airplane ride.  We only went over to Las Vegas to visit mom and dad, but she did great.  Everyone on the plane was impressed on how good she was.  She didn't wake up and didn't scream at all.

As you can see by the new pictures, she is all smiles now.  It's so cute.  I love it when she giggles.  Well, we are getting ready for her first airplane ride.  We are going to Arizona on Thursday to visit with my family.  It's a short ride and the doctor said to give her a little bit of children's tylenol before we fly.  She should be fine.  She is growing like a week too.  She is just about out of her 3 month clothes.  She no longer fits into most of her 0-3 month clothes and the 3-6 month outfits are just fitting her because of her length.  So, we are having to get her new clothes now.  I didn't think she would grow this fast or be this long.

2/16/2007  We had our two month doctors appointment this week.  Well, she had to get 4 shots and she took it like a pro.  She only cried a little this time.  But I figured out a trick.....  instead of leaving her with nothing on but her diaper, I put the top half of her sleeper on her.  Then quickly put on the rest after her shots.  It worked like a charm.

Our little piggy is up to 12 1/2 pounds now and is 24" long.  The doc says she will be tall and is growing into those big feet of hers.  She is doing really good and we still have a little problem with her going to the bathroom issue but are working that out.  Take a look at her cute little tootsies!

2/6/2007  Today we went to get our pictures taken.  I will post them when I get them.  She did really good.  There were some of both of us and some of just her.  You can really see how much she has grown in these pics.  It's great.  We did discover a few things today too.  Little miss thing is already and will be an even bigger "DRAMA QUEEN" and she started drewling allot.  So I will be asking the Doc on Monday if she is already starting her teething process.  She also has started to try and crawl.  She moved forward just a bit before her head fell back down.  She is trying so hard.  I'm sure in no time she will be crawling all over the house.

2/3/2007  Well, today I lost everything on my computer.  So I get to start all over again with photos and everything else.  I tried saving most of my important documents.  However, I lost allot of very important emails and things like that.  So if you don't hear from me in a while it's because I am still trying to get back my information slowly.  Danielle is doing fine and everything else is good other than the computer.

1/29/2007  Well, Josh has been gone for almost one month and let me tell you, I am not looking forward to 2 more.  I definitely feel for those single moms out there.  My little princess is getting bigger every day and as you can see, she's cuter every day too.  She still sleeps all night. (loving that!)  I don't remember when I ate dinner last.  ha! ha! ha!  Other than really missing Josh we are not too bad.

1/21/2007  Danielle has been having some problems going potty.  The doctor told us to use prune juice to help her out a little.  She got a healthy dose of that tonight when she was acting really restless after eating, changing and  holding her.  It seemed to help her out.  I just hope we don't have to give her this all the time.  I am going to see if there is formula with less iron in it.  Hopefully that will help her out.  She has begun smiling and laughing.  It's so cute.  Last night we were on the floor for 2 hours trying to get a picture of it.  Every time my arm would get tired of holding the camera she would smile and it was gone before I could get the camera ready.  It's strange because I think she waits until the camera isn't there to smile.  It is so cute.  I will catch one, hopefully.

1/12/2007  Today we had our second doctors appointment with Dr. Delforno.  Our little piggy is now weighing in at 10 pounds, 4 ounces and is 23 inches long.  She is growing and doing fine.  She got her second shot today.  Boy, she did not like that at all.  I have never heard her scream like that.  It was really cute.  We go back for round three on February 12th.  She didn't do too bad.  The doctor said just to watch her when she eats to make sure she is not eating too fast and if she gets sick like she was last week again to take her into the ER if it's not office hours.  We think it may have been a bad can of formula that was the cause of her to get sick last week.  But we still are not sure.

1/10/2007  Danielle has been awake more during the day, so we started using her belly mats more.  As you can see from the picture, she really likes them.  I am amazed at how much strength she already has.  She loves to use her legs.  It's so cute.

01/07/2007  Josh made it to Alaska.  He says it is really cold there and they are working 6 days a week.  So, they are keeping them pretty busy.

Danielle was really sick on the 4th giving me a bit of a scare.  Her doctors office called and talked me through everything.  Thank God we didn't have to take her into the ER.  She was finally able to hold down some formula.  She is doing much better now and is back on her sleeping schedule.  I am pretty lucky.  She is only 5 weeks old and sleeps through the night.  She is changing so much already.  I think she looks more like Josh now than she does me.  I keep hearing that will continue to change.  So, it will be interesting to see who she looks like when she is 2 months old.

December 30, 2006

Danielle is 4 weeks old now.  She is already getting big.  Our little piggy is up to 5 ounces at just about every feeding and still seems really hungry sometimes.  The doctor tells us she may be going through a growth spurt now.  With many more to come.  I just hope we don't run out of formula for her.  She finally lost her umbilical cord and seems to be more comfortable without it.

Josh leaves this coming Thursday morning for Alaska and is scheduled to return on March 30th, provided the weather cooperates.  We will miss him while he is gone and we know he is going to miss us.  It's going to be hard without him here to help, but I think I will be getting visitors to help out.  And there is school and a temp job I have taken on too.  So, basically we are trying to keep ourselves busy.
