I'm finally getting a minute to write a bit.  The kids are being bathed by their Grandma and Josh is over at the neighbor's house.  I'm sitting here with my foot in a splint/cast thing longing for the days when I could walk on my own two feet.  I realize how much I take for granted when I'm not able to do things for myself... anyway.... enough about that.  What have we been doing the past few months?  Well...
I finished my school in Montgomery and we are all back home.  We enjoyed the time we got to spend with the family, especially the kids.  It was nice to get back to our own life though.  We took the kids to Busch Gardens and of course it rained all day.  It was a lot of fun though.  The worst part was that the kids didn't get a nap and they aren't used to that.  So, we had some tantrums but we just went with it.  The girls got to ride their first rides, even a couple without Mommy sitting next to them holding them tight.  They got to go to Sesame Street there.   They just loved it and were totally excited and jumping out of their seats when they saw all the characters.  When we tried to get them to go meet them however, they weren't so eager.  - We also took a trip to D.C. for a friend's son's Birthday Party.  That was a nice trip and the kids had a great time playing with friends.
The kids have been doing very well.  The girls are just growing up so fast.  They talk at the speed of light and already know everything.  They love to color, paint, jump on the bed and watch all kinds of cartoons.  Oh, and they love to go shopping.  :)  Ryan is just a little sweetheart/monster.  He is a great little boy but he's learned to yell when he doesn't get his way.  Well, it's more like a really loud growl.  He also is a biter, hitter and pincher.  Oh, and he pulls his sisters' hair.  Of course he doesn't do it to be mean, he just doesn't know better.  It's a change for me because the girls never did that.  He has 12 teeth and is walking all over the place.  He's already wearing the same size diaper as his sisters and is in 18 month clothes, but he won't be 1 for a couple more weeks!  He's a sweetheart and loves to take baths with his sisters.  Of course, I never walk away dry!
So, the girls had their first real haircut today.  We're hoping that it'll make it grow a little faster.  We also went to the pumpkin patch and picked out pumpkins to carve.  We will dare to carve tomorrow.  This will be the first year we attempt this.  I'll take pictures so you can all see how it turns out.  Should be an interesting day.
Well, I'm sure if I sat here long enough I could write a couple pages but I won't do that to you!  Just know that even though I don't update as often as I should, we do think of all our friends and family out there who love us and appreciate all the support you give.  We are all doing well and miss you all so much.  I'll add more pictures as soon as I get more familiar with my new camera.  Hope you all are doing well.  We'll be in touch again soon!  Love you all!

It's summer finally and we are getting to enjoy it in the great state of Alabama!  Hot, humid, buggy, you name it, we got it!  It's been fun though and we wouldn't trade this time for anything.  I'm attending a school in Montgomery and Josh and the kids are staying with family south of here.  It's really hard to be away from them all but I can't complain since I get to go see them every weekend.  Most folks here at the school are hundreds of miles away from their families.  So, I consider myself very lucky!

The kids are growing up so fast.  Sydney and Madison are talking like crazy.  We can understand most of what they say.  It's nice that they can finally tell us what they want or what's wrong!  Well, for the most part.  Of course the whining and tantrums have started.  Those are great!  They have learned that wonderful word "mine".  I'm not sure where they learned it cause we don't use it.  Maybe they are born with that word preprogrammed in their heads!  Sydney is becoming more dominant than she was before.  She actually takes things from Madison now.  - It's so wonderful to watch them grow and change every day.  Seems like just yesterday they were coming home from the hospital.  Every day is a new adventure and we look forward to what tomorrow brings.

Ryan is just growing like a weed.  He's about 23 pounds now.  He almost weighs as much as the girls.  They all wear the same size diaper!  He's in 12 month clothes already.  I'm afraid he won't be able to wear all the 18 month clothes I bought him for this winter!  He's saying Mama and Dada.  He's been sitting by himself for a while now but just this week started sitting himself up.  He's even starting to pull up on things.  (just to his knees thank goodness!)  He'll be crawling soon!  He even has 2 teeth already.  He's just amazing.  A happy baby most of the time.  He's starting to fight sleep now, so that's been fun.  I have to say though, he's a very enjoyable kid.  He's quite cute too!  :)

Well, I guess I should get back to my homework.  I just wanted to let you all know that we are doing well and put a few new pictures on here so you can see how much they've grown.  These pictures were taken last weekend by my cousin Laura.  She did a great job! - Hope you all are well.  We'll talk again soon!

So, it's been a couple months since I've updated you all on how we are doing.   Sorry, we've been busy with life.   J   We are all doing pretty well.   Sydney has a little runny nose and I think Ryan is catching it too.   Sleep has been more difficult the past few nights with sickly kids but it doesn't usually last very long.   Hopefully everything will be back to normal soon.   Otherwise, we are all doing great.

Ryan is almost 5 months old already.   I can't believe how time flies.   He's such a big boy!   He weighed 17lbs and 5oz at his 4 month appointment.   He's been in 6-9 month clothes for over a month already and he fits pretty comfortably in a couple 12 month PJs.   No, I'm not kidding.   He's almost as big as the girls already!   - He's really a great baby.   He's almost always in a good mood; smiling, laughing, talking...   He only gets grumpy when he's hungry, gassy or over-tired.   He sleeps through the night most of the time.   He's a growing boy though and sometimes decides he still needs to eat in the middle of the night.   He has started eating cereal and some baby food.   We're starting him kinda slow on the baby food though.   He's doing pretty well with it.   We still make a mess but he's getting the hang of it.   He has a neat little bouncy toy that we put him in.   He just goes nuts!   He LOVES it!   He also loves to watch his crazy sisters.   He'll just sit there and smile at them whatever they are doing.   He thinks they are soooo funny!

Syndey and Madison are growing up so fast.  They will be 2 the end of this month.   I can't believe it!  I think they are gradually getting into that terrible 2's stage.   Madison is still wild as ever and Sydney is still a sensitive little girl.   They aggravate each other all the time.   Madison likes to run into Sydney and knock her down.   Of course, Sydney has my balance and coordination so it doesn't take much for her to fall.   J   I'm sure Madison doesn't do it to be mean, she just plays rough.   Madison is a little daredevil.   She'll climb on anything and jump off things.   She's not afraid of anything.   She climbed up the neighbors slide last weekend that is almost as tall as I am and slid down without a second thought.   She's a tough one too.   She landed flat of her face and didn't shed a tear.   I helped Sydney get to the top of the slide, then before I knew it, Madison came up behind her and pushed her.   Needless to say, Syd wasn't ready to slide and she went flying off the end.   We have a very interesting life these days.   J

Both girls are talking much more these days.   Syd is definitely getting better with her words.   She knows lots of things but doesn't always express it like we'd like.   Madison repeats EVERYTHING!   She is a little jabber-box.   They say please, thank-you, (you're) welcome, bless you, excuse me/you, etc.   We're trying to teach manners but it's hard to teach them that just because they say please doesn't mean they automatically get what they are asking for!

Syd, Maddy & Ryan got their first little cousin in March.   We are so excited that she's finally here.   We can't wait to meet her!   Mommy, Daddy, and baby are all doing well.

Alright, I guess I need to go for now.   I've rambled on enough.  We hope that you all are doing well.   In case I don't update again for a while, Happy Easter to you all!   And even if I don't write a new story very often, I try to add new pictures/videos as often as I can.   Thanks to you all for being a part of our lives!

Love,

Happy New Year everyone!   I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday Season.   Ours was pretty good.   We got to spend 3 weeks in Alabama with our families.   The drive there was actually really nice.   The kids were all great.   Once we got there they all decided to get sick.   I won't go into it, but it was pretty miserable.   Ryan was the least sick.   I think everyone there was sick while we were there.   Besides all the sickness, we had a very nice trip.   We got to spend more time with our families than we have in a very long time.   Josh's Grandma was so generous and let us stay with her the whole time.   She is such a special person and a wonderful host.   The girls got a little spoiled while we were there.   They got attention 24/7 and boy did they eat it up.   You'd think we never spend any time with them...

So, now we're back home.   As much fun as we had in Bama, it was nice to get back to our own house.   It didn't take too long for everyone to get back in our old routine.   Well, sorta.   I guess technically it's a new routine since little Ryan arrived.   I started back to work a couple weeks ago.   Ryan somehow knew that I was leaving him so he decided to keep us up past 1200 for the first 3 nights of me going back to work.   Finally, on the 4 th night, I put him in the bed with us and he slept much better.   So did I!   Since then we've been doing much better.   Of course, all the kids have been sick again.   The girls are better now.   Ryan had it the worst.   He's got Bronchiolitis but I think he's on the mend finally.   I feel so sorry for that sweet little baby.   He's been so congested and can't really rest.   The past couple days have been better though.   I'll be glad when our house is all healthy again!

Ryan had his 2 month check up last Friday.   He weighed in at a whopping 14 lbs 5 oz and is 24 inches long.   He moved up to size 3-6 months when he was 7 weeks old and is now out of size 1 diapers.   Needless to say, he's growing like crazy.   He is a very happy baby.   He's smiling and cooing (even at 1 in the morning).   What a sweet boy!   The girls are still doing pretty well with him.   They hug and kiss him.   Sydney has started wanting to hug him with her arms around his neck.   We'll have to watch her.   I can see her dragging him across the room like she does her dolls.   J   They are big helpers.   They like to bounce him and give him his pacifier when he drops it.   Every morning when they see him, they point and say "baby".   We're working on "brother" and "Ryan".   That may take a while.   They love their little brother though.

It's been really cold around here the past few days.   I'll be glad when it warms up enough to get out of the house again.   I know the girls are about to go stir crazy.   They love to go "side".   That's how Madison says outside.   Sometimes she says "side walk".   Their vocabulary is slowly getting better.   It's interesting how each of them have their own list of words they say.   There aren't many words that they both say.   Maybe that's the way it is with twins.   I don't know.   That's the way it is with mine anyway!   J

Well, I'll sign off for now.   I'm going to add some new pictures and a couple videos from out trip home.   Hope you enjoy them!

Well, Ryan James is finally here!  He arrived on Nov 5th at 4:29 pm weighing in at a hefty 9 lbs 8 oz.  The delivery and stay in the hospital went smoothly.  We are so glad to have him here!  I can't believe he is already a month old!  Time flies so fast!  He is growing so much every day.  At his 2 week appt. he was already at 10 lbs!  He's a good baby.  He only cries when he's hungry or when his tummy hurts.  He hasn't quite figured out that 10 pm is not the time for playing but we're working on that!
We are so blessed to have such great family!  My Mom and Granny came out to stay with Syd and Maddy while I was in the hospital and for a week or so afterward.  They were so much help!  The girls loved having them here.  My Dad got to come out for a few days to spend with us too.  After they left, Josh and I got a small taste of how life was going to be with 3 kids.  - We survived - Then Josh's parents arrived to help out and enjoy Thanksgiving with us.  Uncle Jeff even got to come out for a few days.  It was so nice to have the help.  I know the girls really enjoyed all the attention they received from their Grandparents.
Well, now that everyone is gone, we are almost back on our old schedule.  Well, with the exception of Ryan.  So far, so good.
Sydney and Madison are doing pretty well with the new addition and all the changes.  We have little meltdowns occasionally but that's to be expected.  I think Madison is having the hardest time.  She's a Mommy's girl and gets a little jealous at times.  We're working it out.  They both love to give him hugs and kisses.  So far, they just call him "baby".  They like to rub his head too.  We have to keep a close eye on them because they try to help him bounce in his bouncy seat.  That doesn't work so well.  :)
Well, I need to run for now.  Just wanted to write a couple lines.  I'll put a couple pictures on here for everyone.  I hope you enjoy them.  I'll try to add more later.  We are going home for the Holidays so we should have lots to add after the first of the year.  Happy Holidays to you all!

Love,
Rachel, Josh, Sydney, Madison & Ryan
