xxx Welcome to Ethan's page!! Ethan decided that he just couldn't wait another four weeks so he graced us with his presence at 36 wks 2 days, right around lunchtime(his daddy doesn't like missing a meal either!) on a pretty decent day for Lakenheath, England. Madison absolutely loves her baby brother as you can see in the pictures. She likes to think that she knows exactly what he wants, and we have clashed a little about that but she is going to be a great big sister! She is a little upset that no one is sleeping in her room though and that she's not always the center of attention anymore but I know that will pass when he gets bigger and they get to play together, by then she'll want him to leave her alone! I had the best help in the hospital and for that I will always be grateful. My friends Jennifer, Young and Nicky were with me almost all day and made it that much easier for me not having Bobby there with me. He was always on the phone with me(as you can see in pictures as well lol!) so he knew what was going on at all times and got to hear his son tellin the nurses just what was what when they were cleaning him up. He can not wait to come home and meet this lil man who looks and acts exactly like him! And I apologize to my mom for freaking her out and then not calling for 12 hours, I was busy having your grandson mom!! :-)
Daddy is home now! Bobby made it home on Sept 8th, just a day shy of Ethan's 2 mths! Much better than what we had originally expected so that is just great! He had Ethan smiling at him less than 30 mins after he got home, it was just awesome! Ethan has taken to daddy very well but he still needs his momma sometimes so momma hasn't been replaced just yet. If only we could get him into some kind of routine now, that would be fantastic! He's had his 2 mth checkup and shots, he is 13 lbs 03 oz. and he's 22 1/2 inches long, my short stocky lil man!! 08-26-2008~ Well it has been a while! Quick updates for everyone. Ethan is now almost 12 wks old, he had is 2 mth checkup on the 15th and he was 13 lb 03 oz and 22 1/2 inches long, he is a short chunky lil monkey according to the charts! He is at the 75th Percentile for his weight but only the 25th percentile for his height, but that's not too surprising looking at the height of about 2/3 of the family!
August 2008~
Well Ethan decided to be early! He was born on July 7th at 12: 54pm, he was 36 wks 2 days gestational age. He weighed in at a very healthy 7 lbs 4 oz and he was 19 1/2 inches long. He was healthy as can be for being almost 4 wks early and he didn't have to stay in or do a NICU or anything like that. Mommy had some issues with the epidural and had to stay an extra day as she was getting migraine spinal headaches that put her out for hours at a time but she left the hospital on the 4th day with some good meds! Ethan became a bit jaundiced which apparently is pretty common for preemies and for mexican babies so a preemie mexican baby was just asking for it! His billirubin levels got pretty high but he never had to go under the lights and everything started working out good. Almost no sign of his jaundice by his 2 mth checkup.
06-15-2008~ Happy Father's Day Daddy!!
03-20-2008~ Well Mommy decided she couldn't wait any longer and wanted daddy to be at the ultrasound with her before he left, but that didn't work out either! So mommy had her little ultrasound yesterday, and she had the technician put "me" on a piece of paper and sealed it in an envelope so she could open it when Daddy called, about 6 hours later! She was pretty antsy but got the news that they wanted to hear and had been hoping for. Yep folks I'm a boy!! Now if they could just decide on a name for me already then we'll be ready to go! We miss daddy but we'll see him soon enough!
Hopefully we'll have the ultrasound before Daddy leaves so he can see what I am, and that shouold be sometime in the next 4-6 weeks. We'll keep you posted! Mommy's next appointment isn't until after she takes her little vacation with my sister.
I already know I'm being nicer than my sister was, I didn't make mommy throw up at all, but I'm not letting her sleep much, hey it's not my fault she drinks all that water during the day! And she's already feeding me really healthy, we can not get enough fruits and veggies and milk is so yummy right now too! Mommy hasn't had caffeine since she found out about me, and she barely likes the taste of candy either, how good is she! Mommy's working the night shift this week so I'm gonna try and be nice and let her sleep during the day, we'll see how that goes!
