July 29, 2005  Exactly one month to go until my due date!!!!

7/29/05   My sister's boyfriend, Luis, is doing a summer internship with the advertising agency that is advertising for the Barnum and Baily's Circus. He gave us 12 tickets to go see the circus at "The Pond" in Anaheim. We invited some friends from church and my sister, Amanda, to go with us. We had so much fun seeing all the animals, the acrobats, clowns, and lots of other fun stuff. I hadn't been to the circus since I was a kid and the girls had never been. It was a great experience for us all! Luis even got us into the area where all the animals are kept when they are not performing. It was cool to see the tigers and elephants that close up! It was "The greatest show on earth!"

Thank you Luis for our circus tickets!!!

7/25/05  Christian has been planning a special day for him and Madeline for a couple months now. The day finally arrived on Saturday. They went to the Cowboy Festival in Big Bear. When Maddy woke up on Saturday morning Christian had new pink boots and Wrangler jeans for Maddy to wear. She had been wanting to go to Red Lobster and try lobster also. It was all in the plans of this special day. They had a great time at the festival and then headed to the retaurant. As excited as she was...Maddy didn't like the lobster at all! But she still had a wonderful day with her Daddy. I think she will remember it always!

7/25/05  Vacation Bible School is now over! I am so glad it is. We had a wonderful week and it went as scheduled without a hitch! I will be happy to get some good nights of sleep now that it is not constantly on my mind. Everyone enjoyed our "Prayer Safari". I look forward to another VBS next year. (Now my sister and her kids have VBS at their church this week...and my mom is teaching in it) Good luck and have fun!!

7/25/05

36 weeks: Landon has taken on another half pound as mentioned last
week and is around 5 lbs., 3 oz.  he is around 18
inches in length and almost ready to check out of "Hotel
Mom".  In terms of location, the baby has moved downward,

hopefully headfirst. However at this
stage it is very common for babies to be feet first or
"breech".  It is not until labor begins that you can know
for sure if there will be a need to turn the baby (ECV), or
if the doctor will consider a cesarean delivery.

Landon is doing well and so am I. I have been on extra iron pills daily for the past couple of weeks. It hasn't been that bad. I have LOST a total of 14 pounds so far this pregnancy. I don't know why my body reacts this way but I am sure glad it does. The doctors don't worry that I lose during pregnancy because I have a few extra pounds to spare. I am not dieting, just eating semi healthy! I wish I could eat this way after Landon is born and continue to lose weight... that didn't happen with the girls. We'll see. A little over 1 month to go!

July 18, 2005

Poor little Emma has had a fever for a few days. she has run 99- 102 degrees since Monday. She's a little trooper though. Maddy has been enjoying coming to Vacation Bible School. She has been behaving pretty well. I was afraid that she would cry every time she saw me. Nope, she's doin' great!

Vacation Bible School for me is going awesome!! All the volunteers have shown up and are doing a great job! We had about 50 kids the first night and even more last night! Keep prayin' cuz it's working! I'm having tons of fun and my big ol' belly is holding up just fine! Only 3 more days to go plus the performance and BBQ on Sunday. Yipee!

July 18, 2005

35 weeks: Our baby weighs about 4 lbs. 10 oz. and will continue to
gain about .5 pound per week until I deliver. He
stretches out to just under 18 inches as he approaches
full term. There is not really any development
remaining for arms, legs, brain or organs. Stem cells
continue to exist in the bone marrow, giving rise to red
blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets to maintain a
healthy immune system. Landon will simply
continue to grow in size as he readies for
his big debut.

This has been a great week considering how busy I have been. I've been on my feet a ton since Saturday, but I still feel pretty good. I had to put my feet up on Monday night after VBS cause they were sore, but they were not swollen at all. I feel that after VBS is over, this last month of pregnancy is going to fly!!

July 15, 2005 We went to the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific with our Moms' club on Tuesday. The kids absolutely loved it!! Maddy's favorite part was touching the sting rays. They came right up to her and she got to pet their faces. It was really cool! Emma enjoyed the large sea turtles and the sea otters because they come right up to the glass and stay there for a lttile bit. She was not into touching anything, it scared her a little. After walking around all day at the aquarium I really felt 8 months pregnant! I was completely exhausted at the end of the day! I didn't realize how tired I really was until I got home and slept for nearly 2 hours! Luckily the girls were exhausted too; What a fun day!

July 11th, 2005

34 weeks: Landon is tipping the scale at around 4 lbs. 8 oz. and
is nearing the 17-inch mark.  I may now be able to tell if
it is a hand or foot pushing against my belly. Having
Christian touch my belly and feel our baby's
movements will be remembered as a very special time of
sharing between them.   It's a playful and loving way to let
the two of them get to know each other.

Landon is starting to do more rolling than kicking. I feel his little rump or head often. The kicks are getting lesser, but that doesn't mean that the movement is less. I feel him all time. I can usuallly tell exactly where he is and if he's curled up or sprawled out. It's fun to watch him move about! He's going to be here so soon!!

July 11, 2005

This past weekend was a blast! It was really nice to spend some quality uninterupted time with Christian. We saw the movie "Cinderella Man" on Friday night. We both LOVED it! We went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory in Brea. On Saturday morning we headed out to Newport Beach to go kayaking. We kayaked into the bird estuaries on the bayside. We saw beautiful mansion homes and boats. It was a pretty quiet and peaceful morning. When we finished there we went to Huntington Beach to walk through the street fair and have lunch at "Smokin' Mo's". We went home and changed to go to Ontario Mills to go shopping and have dinner before we picked up the girls late that night. We had a very nice time together.

On Sunday we spent the day getting the bunk beds and furiniture for the girls' room. We put it together and the girls were thrilled!! Emma did pretty well sleeping in her "big girl bed". And Maddy thoroughly enjoyed sleeping on the top bunk! We still have to disassemble the crib to get it out of the girls' and into Landon's room. Ugh...when will this all be done?! Christian has been awesome!! He has moved and put together more furniture the past few weeks! He has been a really good sport!

July 7, 2005

Week 33:

Our baby has now hit the 4-lb mark and is over 15 inches
from head to toe.  Landon and I are both very aware that it
is getting more and more cramped in there.  If our baby is
going to be born a full head of hair, it's already there!

Maddy and Emma were both born with just a tiny bit of hair, so we would assume that Landon will be pretty bald also. But, you never know?!! He could look totally different than the girls. We can't wait for his arrival.

July 7, 2005

The kids all enjoyed a visit while the cousins came over last week. They played in the sprinklers and rode bikes in the front yard. It was nice to have a visit from Oma, Kirsten and Noah too. Check out the pix.

We got Landon's room painted over the 4th of July weekend. It's yellow. Then we hung a cowboy border up too. I'm really happy with it, it looks very cute!

Christian and I are having a little romantic weekend this weekend. His parents are taking the kids and we're living it up. We decided to save money by not staying at a hotel, but we'll do lots of other fun things to take advantage of being able to pick up and go at any time. I'm looking very forward to it! Stay tuned for details of what we did for our "kidless" weekend.

7/1/05: Yesterday the girls and I went out to visit Great Grandma Dory. She is looking good and healthy enjoying her Bingo games and crafting days. We met Tina and Amanda for lunch and then hung out at Tina's house for the afternoon. We went to my parents' house for dinner and a nice visit before returning back on the freeway after dark. The time always seems to go by too quickly when we visit!

7/1/05

We finally have named our baby boy!! Christian and I have been tossing around names for months now but we just couldn't agree on one for longer than a day. My favorite boy's name since I was about 12 years old has been Landon. When we were pregnant with Madeline, if she was a boy, her name was going to be Landon. For some reason Christian wasn't as into that name this pregnancy. On Monday night we were sitting out on the patio talking about names once again and we tossed around; Caedmon, Caden, Wyatt, Austin, Cody, Dakota, Preston, and Landon. We were really down to Wyatt and Caden. But, I still loved Landon.

Christian found some old cowboy posters in the garage. He was showing me all these pictures that he wanted to hang in the baby's room. We were going back and forth on what he liked and what I like for the nursury. We started joking about if  I could choose the baby's name, then he could hang this certain "Cowboys in the Sunset" poster. I agreed and we started talking about the name Landon again and how we both LOVE the "Little House on the Prairie" series with Michael Landon. And so it was decided...our son's name is Landon John! (And the cowboy picture will hang in Landon's room.) Christian will have decorative control over the nursury in exchange for the baby's name to be Landon (little did he know that he pretty much had decorative control anyway!) After all, it's a cowboy theme in the nursury!

Only 8 1/2 weeks until we welcome our little Landon John! I can't stand the waiting!

6/29/05

On Friday afternoon Emma was sitting on the porch all wrapped up in her towel after going in the sprinklers. She lost her balance and fell head first off of the steps. Her arms were inside the towel so she couldn't break her fall. She landed right on her face on the concrete! It was really scary, I thought I might have to take her in to the hospital, but she calmed down pretty quickly and seemed to be OK. She has a scab under her nose and still a big bump on her head, but my baby girl is fine. Thank God!

We went to the beach over the weekend. Christian was on a weekend retreat so we called up the Schuberts to go to Mom's beach. The weather was awesome! There were star fish everywhere. The kids loved it, but it kind of grossed me out because I was afraid I would accidentally step on one. the kids picked them up and held them throughout the day!

6/27/05

32 weeks: Our baby weighs just under 4 lbs. and is about 15.5 inches
from head to toe.  He will continue to gain weight
but more quickly now and will likely double in weight from
this point, if I go to full term. To breast-feed or bottle
feed newborns is a major point of debate among birth
professionals and mothers. Breast milk contains  a variety
of components that, along with the baby's stem cells,
maintain a healthy immune system.

I will be breast-feeding the baby. I nursed Maddy for 9 months and Emma for 6 months. I hope to nurse my boy for at least 6 months as well. I love the bonding that I feel with the baby while nursing. Not to mention the amount of money saved while not having to purchase formula! I can't wait for our little bundle to get here. Only 9 weeks to go! Wow, that's going to go by so quickly!

We are trying to stay cool in this little heat wave we are having. The girls and I went in the pool yesterday and lounged around indoors most of the day. Summer is definitely here!

6/20/2005 - We had a very nice weekend with both sides of the family. We went to my folks' to celebrate Emily's birthday and Father's Day on Saturday moring. Then, on Sunday we went to Christian's folks for a Father's day lunch.

Happy Father's Day to Angel, my Dad, and my wonderful husband, Christian!! My girls are so blessed to call Christian their Daddy!! He is a wonderful father! Happy Father's Day Babe!

6/20/2005 - 31 weeks: Our baby now weighs around 3 lbs. 6 oz. and is about 14.9
inches from head to toe, opening and closing his eyes and
starting to get used to the world of light and dark. Facial
muscles continue to strengthen and even in the womb the
baby is making different expressions.

We are getting closer and closer on dieciding a name for our little Peanut. It has been frustrating to some (even ourselves) that we can't come up with one that Christian and I both agree on. We are down to 3 names (for today). Don't you wish you knew what they were???? You will find out soon enough :)

I have a dr. apt today. The dr. will weigh me and measure my belly. She will put the doppler on so we can hear his little heart beat. I'll give updates soon.

6/17/2005 - Pictures and stories are comng a little less frequent right now due to the business of Vacation Bible School. I have a lot to get done in the next few weeks to prepare for nearly 75 children coming through our church doors 5 nights in a row. VBS is the highlight of my work year, but it requires tons of volunteers and hard work!! It's rough before it comes, but it's worth every second once it begins.

This is the first year that Maddy gets to be a participant of VBS. It is for children 4 years - 6th grade. She is really excited!

30 weeks- Our baby now weighs around 3 lbs. and is about 14.5 inches
from head to toe. Some ultrasound images will show
a baby yawning or even sucking their thumb! I
also may notice that the baby does not move at all during
your Braxton-Hicks contractions. This is because my
muscles tighten and constrict the baby's movement. By now
he is probably more used to Braxton-Hicks than
I am.

Little Peanut is moving like crazy!! He is always letting me know that he is with me. I am still pretty comfortable. Although it it getting more and more difficult to get into bed. I have not been sleeping real good lately..it could be the pregnancy, but it could also be the new location of our bedroom. I only have about 10 weeks to go. He's going to be here before we know it!

6/10/2005 - Madeline is all registered for preschool now. She will be going to Calvary Baptist Preschool in Anaheim. It is right around the corner from my work so it will be convenient for me and my other TWO children. Maddy is a little nervous about going to school. One moment she can't wait and the next moment she says she doesn't want to go. She won't start for a couple of months so we have some time to talk about it a lot before it's time. She is most looking forward to painting and having a lunch box. Her first day of school is Wednesday, September 7th. She will be attending Mon, Wed, and Fri mornings from 9:00- 12:30. My baby is growing up!!

6/6/2005 - Week 29: Our baby is now about 2 lbs. 10 oz. and is about 14 inches
from head to toe, continuing to be active and growing more
rapidly. His kicks and punches, however, may feel
lessened. This is because even though the baby is getting
larger and stronger, he also has less space to gain
momentum for these movements.
The baby's blood and immune system is being produced from
the stem cells in his bone marrow.
Little Peanut is a little soccer player!! He is kicking and punching me all day long. I love the feeling of the movement. It reminds me that he is here. I love my little guy already. I can't wait to meet him!

6/3/2005 - Yesterday we had an awesome day at the beach with my little sister, Amanda. We packed lunches and headed to the beach even though it was sprinkling at home. When we got to the beach it was cloudy and a bit chilly, but it warmed up to be a very nice day of playing in the water, eating lunch, and building sand castles! We all had a great day! Thanks Auntie Amanda!
