6/1/2005 - We had a wonderful holiday weekend! On Friday the 4 of us went to go see the movie "Madagascar". It was an OK movie. Maddy liked it; Christian and I thought it wasn't all that great. Emma behaved herself pretty well. I brought her booster chair from home so she could see better. It also has a seatbelt. It worked out well!

Saturday we went to the beach with the Tracy, Aracelli, and Emily Kate. It was a little overcast, but plenty warm. The girls loved the water and the sand. We had a very nice time!

Sunday was a relaxing day of staying home. We went to Ikea to check out some wardrobe closets for our new master bedroom (in the old family room). We havn't bought anything yet, but we are excited to make some major changes to the configuration of our house. The new baby is getting our old room and we are moving the master bedroom into the family room. So long to the "formal living room". It is becoming the new family/TV room.

On Monday we had the Ross' ad the Aguilar's over for a Memorial Day BBQ. We filled up the pool for the kiddos and had a fun time of chatting, laughing, and catching up woth friends.

(No time to post pix today, I'll post on Friday). Bye!!

6/1/2005 - 28 weeks: Our baby is now about 2 lbs. 5 oz. and is a little under
14 inches from head to toe and has been gaining
weight steadily during the past 27 weeks due to the stem
cells developing into bodily organs, blood and immune
systems, and bones. From this point forward, his
weight gain will be due to increasing amounts of body fat.
The baby's thin skin tissue is getting thicker. A general
calculation to predict the baby's birth weight is the
average of mine and Christian's birth weight's.

I weighed 6 pounds 9 ounces and Christian in in the 6 pound range too. Hopefully our baby will be around that too. Maddy was 6 lb. 4oz and Emma was 7 lb. 2oz. We'll see?? My guess is this one will be about 7 and a half pounds because they say boys usually weigh more than girls. Time will tell?!?! Only 12 weeks to go!

5/27/2005 - I posted pictures of when the Thompson's came over for a BBQ dinner on Tuesday night. It was wonderful to have their whole family over. We hadn't seen them in a year. It was a great visit! Safe travels back to Utah Burnie and Cheryl!

Emma had her two year old pictures taken yesterday afternoon at JCP. She was awesome!! She listened and did everything she was supposed to. Her pictures came out really cute!

Tonight our family is going to see "Madagascar" at the theater. We are a little nervous about taking Emma with us. Hopefully she will sit through it OK. She's not much of a movie buff.

5/25/2005 - The girls got their hair cut yesterday. Emma's looks the same, but Maddy got bangs. It looks really cute. She likes it a lot!

5/23/2005 - 27 Weeks: Our baby now weighs about 2 pounds and measures around
13.5 inches from head to toe. You know how your skin looks
after you have been in water for 30 minutes, think about
the baby's wrinkled skin! He is fortunately protected
from exposure to amniotic fluid by vernix. This white,
fatty substance coats the body and protects the skin from
long exposure to this fluid. Without vernix, 40 weeks would
make your baby a very wrinkled little prune indeed!

We still are totally undecided about a name for our little guy. We have 3 or 4 names that we are thinking of now. With both of the girls, it was fairly easy. But, with our boy, we just can't agree on one. I guess we will have decided on one in about 3 months cuz we have to! Whatever his name will be, I'm sure it will fit him perfectly!

I am feeling and seeing him move a ton now! Last night Christian and I were watching "The Contender" and the baby was kicking so hard Christian could see my belly moving from the other sofa! He is kicking and rolling all day long; I love it!!

5/23/2005 - It was a hot one this weekend!! We had family over on Friday night for Emma's birthday. We had a BBQ and birthday cake and then we relaxed around our "chiminea" (Mexican clay chimney) in the backyard. We even roasted marshmellows in it!

Saturday Christian went hiking with Tracy. The girls and I relaxed outside. They went in the little pool and I had them keep pouring water on me so I could keep cool. In the evening, the 4 of us went to the Joebs' house for a BBQ and swimming night. Both girls are such water babies! They love swimming! The Joebs are giving us their kids' bunk beds because they are now in seperate rooms and are getting new furniture. That worked out extremely well for us! The beds match the room great, I just hope they fit.

Sunday we went to church and then we were invited to go swimming at the Schuberts' (Maddy Lu and Lauren's) place. We accepted and had a wonderful day with them! It was a water and sun filled weekend. It feels like summer is already here!

5/20/2005 - Happy Birthday Emma!! Today she turned two years old!! It seems like just yesterday that she was born! It won't be long and she won't be "the baby" anymore. This morning Maddy came into our room at 6:15 and shouted, "Emma is Two!". I think Maddy is more excited about Emma's birthday than Emma is!

Tonight we are doing a little party for her with Lito, Lita, and Montse. We will do a BBQ and birthday cake. It's supposed to reach the 90's today; hopefully it will cool off a little by this evening.

5/16/2005 - On Saturday we had a little birthday party for Emma. She turns two on Friday. It was a gorgeous day to have the family over for dinner and the children really enjoyed playing outside! Happy Birthday Emma Grace! I can't believe my baby is almost two!

5/16/2005 - Our baby weighs about 1 lb. 13 oz. and measures around 13
inches from head to toe, and is gaining more awareness of
his surroundings, hearing noise and responding to light. In
the same way that you can see a flashlight if you hold it
against your palm, our baby can see the light coming
through my belly and uterus. I may begin to notice increased
activity when in brighter light and decreased activity in
darkened rooms. His hearing is becoming more acute,
which means he is likely to startle in response to a loud
or sudden noise.

It's so much fun to feel him move. He is getting so much more active. My mom felt him move on Saturday. She is the only one so far (besides myself) to feel him kick.

5/13/2005 - Yesterday we took advantage of the awesome weather and spent the day outside. The girls went in the sprinklers and ate watermelon. Our next door neighbor, Jasmine came over for a while too. When Christian got home, we sent to the Downtown Fullerton Farmers Market. It is such a nice place to be on a warm evening! We welcome the change in weather; I just wish it would stay like this and not get any hotter! We could only hope.

5/11/2005 - While we had a fun day at Washington Park for our Mom's club yesterday, Christian was thoroughly enjoying his new job. He has come home from work with a smile from ear to ear. He loves it!!

5/9/2005 - The girls and I saw Christian off on his first day of work at ECCU this morning. It was really cool that he got to sleep in until 7:15!! The company is about 10 minutes from home(no freeway). This is going to be sooo cool! Praise God!

5/9/2005 - Week 25: Our baby weighs about 1 lb. 10 oz. and has probably reached
12 inches from head to toe. He is becoming more
durable as his stem cells continue to develop into bone
tissue, and his bones become strengthened through a
process called ossification.
He is getting more and more active each
day. A moving baby is a sign of a healthy baby. His
gastrointestinal system is beginning to produce meconium (Poop).
This is something we will become EXTREMELY familiar with
once your baby has arrived. (Being baby #3, we are more familiar with it than we could have ever hoped to be!)

His name is still up in the air. Maybe we will tell all when we figure it out, or maybe you will find out on the day of his birth??

5/9/2005 - This past weekend was a pretty relaxing one. Christian came home early form his retreat. He got the flu all night on Friday night. As soon as he felt good enough, he drove home on Saturday morning. He was feeling better by the afternoon, and we went out as a family. Sunday, Mother's Day, we went to church and to my mom and dad's place in the evening. Christian and the girls got me pajamas for Mother's Day. They are really cute! Happy Mother's Day to all the Mother's and Mother's-to-be.

5/4/2005 - Madeline had her first dentist appointment yesterday. She was a little nervous to go in, but she brought a little teddy bear with her to keep her company in the chair. She was such an angel!! She didn't cry at all, and she lstened and did everything she was supposed to do. It was a pleasent experience.

5/4/2005 - Christian got the job at ECCU!!! They called him last night at 8PM. He starts his job on Monday. What an answer to prayer!! Thanks for all your prayers everyone!!

5/2/2005 - We had busy days this past weekend. On Saturday we went out to Agoura for a visit. We spent a few hours with my parents having lunch and visiting then, I went to a tea party with my mom and sister and Christian went horseback rididng with his friend, Rocky. It was a fun-filled day.

On Sunday we went out to Corona to spend the day at Christian's parents house for Montse's birthday. We were there all day for lunch and a delicious BBQ dinner. We ended the day with birthday cake and presents for the birthday girl. It was a fun and relaxing day!

5/2/2005 - Our baby weighs about 1 lb. 6oz and is about 11.5 inches
from head to toe. His nostrils are open and the
movements that are practice for breathing outside the womb
have begun. The lungs are secreting surfactant, the
substance that keeps the moist, interior surface of the
lungs from sticking to itself. His visual and
auditory systems are watching for light and listening to
my heart beating and my stomach growling.

We are now a little undecided on "Peanut's" name. We may still stick with Caedmon, but I'm starting to like a few other names too. Christian still wants Caedmon (and I like it a lot too) but it's not a total certainty like before. I got really tired of hearing other people's opinions and observations about our choices of names so we have decided not to talk about it much anymore. We will surprise you all with our name choice when Peanut arrives!

4/29/2005 - Christian's 4th interview with ECCU was this morning. It went well, just like the others. But, we still don't know anything. The VP said that they will set up a time for Christian to come in and ask any questions that he may have. We don't know what this all means. Hopefully if Christian likes the answers to his questions, he will be offered the job. We are just going to keep on praying. We'll keep you all updated.

4/29/2005 - On Wednesday when I got out of work, the family headed up to Arrowbear. We hadn't been up there since christian started working there, and he was going to be alone since the owner was away at a conference. We stayed the night, and spent all day on Thursday in the COLD and snowy weather. It was fun for the girls to see it snow and go play in it a little. We had some nice family time!

4/29/2005 - Christian had an interview with a company in Moorpark. Since it was so close to my family, we decided to all go and make a day of it. I got to take the girls over to visit my Grandma Dori in her new place, have lunch with my mom, and spend the afternoon at my sisters through dinner time. We had a nice day.

Christian's interview there went well except for the distance involved. He is still considering it because it is across from the metro-link station so he could take the train. It's not his first pick of jobs, but it's a job. He has at least two weeks to think about it because the owner is going to France.

4/25/2005 - Christian's interview with ECCU has been scheduled for this Friday. This is the job theat we are really praying for. He has an interview with another company tomorrow in Moorpark. We're just keeping our options open.

4/25/2005 - Week 23:
Caedmon now weighs a little over a pound, and is about 11
inches from head to toe. Almost a foot long! He is
continuing to develop his facial features. I should be feeling a lot of movement as he is
continuing to learn and assimilate his abilities in
the comfort of his own personal,"living womb."
He now has eyes that open and close, ears that can hear, a
thumb well worth sucking and lots and lots of hiccups.

When I was pregnant with Maddy and Emma I felt them moving constantly!! Caed is a lazy little guy. I feel him move usually about one time every hour, but he doesn't give me kicks like the girls did. Maybe he's just warming up his legs now and he'll start kicking harder later..who knows. I have felt a few kicks, but not many.

4/22/2005 - Christian went up to Arrowbear Tues-
Thurs. this week. The girls and I went out to Corona to spend some time with the family. On Tuesday night, Montse and I went out for me to begin to teach her how to drive. It was a lot of fun; she did very well! We spent the night at Lito and Lita's house and then went to Tom's Farm for a sunny day of shopping and lunch. Nana came along too; It was nice to spend time with all of them!

4/22/2005 - Christian has been called for a 4th interview now. This one is with the vice president of the Sales Ministry Department of ECCU. We can't believe how thorough they are being with interviews. It's crazy!! I think it's a really good sign that he's meeting with the VP. Maybe he's the "final say" about hiring. Thanks for all the prayers.
