4/20/2005 - I discovered the most wonderful thing the other day!! I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner. It's called "Privacy Time". By about 4:00 in the the afternoon I'm just about done with the girls fighting over certain toys, yelling at eachother, and the frustrations of Emma taking Maddy's things...I came up with the idea of putting the girls in seperate rooms with age appropriate toys and making it a special time that they get to play alone. It was a hit!! Maddy was in her bedroom with her paper dolls and Polly Pockets while Emma was in the Family room with Legos and Lincoln Logs. They both played quietly for alomost an hour and I got dishes done, my bed made and a load of laundry folded. What a concept!! We'll see how long this lasts, hopefully I'm on to something here.

4/20/2005 - Christian had an interview at ECCU yesterday morning at 8AM. He feels that it went very well, but we havn't heard anything yet. They did not really give him much of a time frame that we would be hearing back from them. Hopefully it will be soon so we don't have to keep wondering. Christian feels that this job would be a really good fit. Keep praying! Thanks!

4/18/2005 - News just in... Christian was called for a second interview at the Credit Union job. They called him at home today (he's home with both girls while I'm at work). While he was on the phone, Maddy opened the front door and Bodie got out. He had to put the hiring manager on hold for a moment while he got the kids and the dog in order. Oh, the life of a stay-at-home dad! Anyway, the hiring manager told Christian to be expecting a call for a second interview to be scheduled soon. Yippee!!

4/13/2005 - Yesterday the girls and I went to to Boysen Park for MnM's club. The weather is starting to get hot here now. (Cheryl- pack shorts and tanks). It was a warm afternoon, we all got a start on our summer tans.

4/13/2005 - Christian is up at Camp Conifer right now. He went up yesterday morning and he's coming home tonight. I talked to him last night and this morning. He said that it is going well. He is trying to book up the place more for the summer to bring in more revenue. We still have no idea if this is a place for us, but it's nice for him to be working again, even if it is only a few days a week.

We have not had any calls for interviews yet...keep us in your prayers.

4/11/2005 - To keep you updated on the job hunt-
Christian had his job interview with ECCU (Evangelical Christian Credit Union) on Friday afternoon. He felt that it went well, but the job is a computer, paper, pencil kind of job. That is not Christian's cup of tea. He would much rather be interacting with people and moving around all day. He is still strongly considering the job (if they consider him) because there would probably be room for movement within the company after a certain amount of time. Keep praying.

We have been thinking about the camp director posistion all weekend. We have had our ups and downs with it. It is a VERY difficult decision to make. We were given the opportunity to do the 5 month probation time and not move there. We were strongly considering that, but that would make it impossible for Christian to continue interviewing here. What it has come down to now is: Christian is going to up up there about 3 days a week until summer camps start with the understanding that hewill still be doing job interviews here in O.C. If he loves the place and can book it up for the summer, he will probably continue through the summer. After the baby is born we will make a decision about what to do from there. This way, Christian has some income coming in, and he's still keeping his options open to other positions that may come our way. This seems to be the best for our family right now. Please pray for discernment about all of what God has put before us. We are confused, but we know that ultimately God is in control of it all. We just pray that we can hear His guidance.

4/11/2005 - Week 21- Baby Caed weighs about 12 ounces and is about 10.5 inches
from head to toe. Within my uterus, he is moving
about surrounded by amniotic fluid.

He is learning how his arms and legs move, using
his hands to feel his facial features (mouth, nose and
ears). Christian and I and the girls saw him displaying all of these movements
on his ultrasound.

I am half way through this pregnancy, Yippee!! It has been very easy so far. I have not really been sick much at all. I feel great! I wish I would feel Caedmon move around. I thought I felt some movement over a month ago, but he really is quite still. I've seen him moving all over the place during the ultra sounds, I just wish I could feel it from the outside. That is one of my favorite things about being pregnant...feeling my baby move inside of me. I guess it will come soon enough, and then I'll wish he would settle down so I can fall asleep. Oh...the miracle of children; I love it!!

4/8/2005 - This morning when I walked into my office there was a card sitting on my desk. I opened it and on the outside it says, "Give all your worries to him, because he cares for you." I Peter 5:7

I opened it and on the inside it says, "Just a gentle reminder that God cares for you in a very special way- and so do we! We hope this may help in your troubled times. Sincerely, Your Family in Christ!"

Inside the card were 3 gift cards to Albertsons for $100 each and $220 cash. It is signed from our "Sunkist Family". I don't know who gave it to us, but I just started crying when I saw it. Our family is so blessed to be part of a church that is so loving, generous, and compassionate to each other. I am in shock and in awe of how the Lord has provided for our family. Thank you for your prayers and support to our family. We love you!

4/8/2005 - Yesterday we went up to Arrowbear to check out the camp that Christian has been going to for his Wild at Heart retreats. When he was up there last weekend they showed interest in him as a Camp Director. It would be a HUGE change for our family and a scary one too. So, we took the girls and Christian's folks up there to talk to the owner of the camp about what the job would entail and how the financial stuff would work. We would actually be living on the property of the camp. We told the owner we would think about it. Lots of prayer is needed for this one!! It's a beautiful place and it sounds like a fun job to Christian (being that he worked on a camp through college). It would just be such an adjustment for us.

Christian also has a phone interview with a Credit Union jobn today at 1:30. Please pray that it goes well for him. It would be nice to have different options to choose from.

4/6/2005 - Although Christian is out of work, we have had a wonderful couple of days. Now that he is home during the day we have had time to do more famly outings. Yesterday we went to San Pedro Harbor to have a picnic lunch, play catch, and fly Maddy's kite. It was a beautiful day and a fun one too!

4/4/2005 - The girls and I had a wonderful time at Uncle Greg's and Auntie Tina's house. It's fun to see all the cousins play together. They all got along so well. My mom's birthday lunch was a lot of fun, it was a beautiful day for a picnic!

4/4/2005 - Christian had a great weekend in the mountains with his retreat. Many people gave him leads of different places to drop off resumes and call for interview...it really helps to know people. Keep praying for his job situation please.

4/1/2005 - Christian is going up as a staff member on another "Wild at Heart" retreat this weekend. The girls and I are going to spend the night at Tina's house tonight and celebrate my mom's birthday tomorrow. We are all looking forward to the visit.

4/1/2005 - Not so good news in the Torresluna household...Christian was laid off his job on Wednesday. We are not devistated, but it has been a tough few days. Christian has been on top of e-mailing resumes, going by companies and dropping off resumes, checking on Monster.com, and filing for unemployment. We know God will provide for us, He always has and always will. It will be a tough time to get through, hopefully it won't be long before he has another job. Please keep us in your prayers.

3/28/2005 - this Easter weekend was very fun! We went to the Good Friday service on Friday night and then had the Easter Eggstravaganza on Saturday morning. The girls both got more candy than they will know what to do with. I was pretty nervous about the saturday event, but it went verrry well. (I planned it, with the help of many church volunteers). On Sunday we went to church in the morning and then to a champagne brunch with the family. It was a beautiful California sunny day. We went home and had a BBQ dinner and played with the girls in the backyard for awhile. We had a wonderful weekend!

3/28/2005 - Caedmon is now up to about 9 ounces and is about 8.5
inches from head to toe. The exterior layers of skin tissue
develop and form his one-of-a-kind fingerprints.
Amniotic fluid that surrounds him allows for the free
movement of the arms and legs and is also sometimes
swallowed to practice digestion. Don't worry about the
waste that comes from this, my body replaces the amniotic
fluid every four hours.

It's so nice to call the baby a him instead of an it. I'm 19 weeks today! Next week I'll be half way there! Wow, it's going so fast!

3/26/2005 - Last Sunday we went kite flying to try our Madeline's new present. It was a perfect day to fly a kite! Just enough wind, but not too chilly!

3/23/2005 - On my front page, there is a place to click and take a quiz (It's burgundy). Please take the quiz, it's really fun!

3/21/2005 - When Madeline woke up on her birthday morning. I began to help her get dressed. She told me, "I don't think those clothes and shoes will fit me anymore because I am 4 now."

3/21/2005 - Madeline's birthday party at Build A Bear was very fun! Her guests all had a good time, and Maddy had a good time too! Thanks to all of you that were a part of it! I can't believe I have a 4-year-old!

3/21/2005 - We are having a Baby Boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!We are so thrilled we can't even believe it! We have ended this run of girls! My mom had 3 girls, my sister had 3 girls, Christian's grandma had 3 girls, My dad has 2 sisters, and Christian has a sister. But, the Torresluna family is having a BOY! His name will be Caedmon (meaning warrior). His middle name will be John (after my Dad). We will probably call him Caed. Should we spell it Caed (like his name) or Cade (to make it easy to read)??

3/18/2005 - You would have thought that Christian was turning 3 not 30 if you got a good look at some of his presents! He recieved 2 remote control trucks, a BB gun, and 2 DVD's of Superman cartoons. He has had a lot of fun playing with his new toys!

3/18/2005 - Maddy and Emma were invited to thier friend Mackenzie's house for a princess tea party. When we arrived, they were all 3 dressed as princesses. They had Disney Princess place mats and real tea cups! Mrs. Stratton made tea sandwiches in the shape of flowers and had fruit, whipped cream, toast, jam, cream cheese, and much more. The girls all had hot cocoa in their cups. It was very cute. A lot of time and effort went into making this a special day for these girls. Thank you Carol!

3/16/2005 - I resceduled our ultra sound apt. for Friday in Pasadena(in 2 days!!!!!!!!!). I am really excited about it! Christian is taking a half day of work and we are taking the kids with us. Since it is a 4D photo place (not a hospital), they let children in. Our ultra-sound at Kaiser hospital is on the 28th. That one, the kids can't go. I think it will be cool for Madeline and Emma to see the baby on the monitor. I'm curious what their reactions will be.

3/14/2005 - Christian's 30th birthday party went awesome yesterday! There were tons of friends and family there. We all had a great time! Today is actually his real birthday (March 14, 1975).
