10/8/2004 - Emma is now saying "No" to just about everything. I remember going through this stage with Madeline; I hope it passes quickly. If I remember correctly, it lasted about 6 months...oye vay!!
10/1/2004 - I took the girls to JC Penney yesterday to have their pictures taken. It's so hard to get two children to look perfect in the same picture. Madeline tried so hard to be a helper. She wanted to help make Emma smile, but it made it difficult because Maddy kept looking only at Emma, not at the camera. I'll have the pictures back soon. I'll post them on this site when I get them. They were not the best pictures my girls have taken, but they were cute!
10/1/2004 - Madeline, our little princess, is so into shoes!! When we go to Target or Walmart, she just wants to go try on shoes. Her favorite are what she calls, "Clipity Clops". These are shoes that make noise while walking on the hard wood flooring in our home. We bought her a pair of black patten leather clipity clops the other day and she wears them all over the house all the time now, even with her pajamas!
10/1/2004 - Both girls have a bit of a cold right now. I guess it's just that season. Emma likes to blow her nose. She grabs tissues and blows into them, but she just get "boogies" all over her lips...Yucky!!
9/29/2004 - Christian and I had a wonderful time in Pismo! We ate out almost every meal. We took advantage of being kidless and went to the movies twice! On Saturday we rented kayaks and took them into the ocean. We both had the time of our lives! What an adventure. We saw starfish, sea lions, and a jelly fish! It was sooo cool. We can't wait to do it again!
9/29/2004 - The girls stayed with my parents (Grandma and Papa) while Christian and I went to Pismo. My mom said that Emma became a snuggle bug while we were gone. That's totally not like Emma. Normally she just likes to be down walking around and exploring. I guess that was her way of expressing her missing Mommy and Daddy.
9/29/2004 - Emma is now starting to eat with a fork and spoon. It takes her twice as long to eat, but she is determined to eat like the rest of us now (until she's too hungry or too frustrated).
9/29/2004 - The girls and I were in the backyard on the swings singing. Maddy said she wanted to sing the "turtle song". I tried to think of what turtle song she was talking about. She said, "The one that says 'turtle life with Jesus'." I told her it's eternal life with Jesus. Kids say the cutest things!
9/20/2004 - The girls are growing up so fast!! Emma is always singing..(just like her daddy). We put music on in the car and Emma lings "la la la" all the way to where we're going! She has a few songs that knows a few words out of. "If You're Happy and you Know it..." Emma shouts the "Amen!" and puts her hands up in the air. It's so cute!
Madeline is still crazy as can be about her princess stuff. Just the other night we went out to dinner to a little cafe' in the Orannge Circle. Madeline found a vail with ribbons and pearls hanging from it. She just had to have it. Luckily daddy was there and he couldn't resist. She wore her new "princess vail" to church yesterday.
We went to a BBQ at our friends', The Aguilars last night. We had a great time! It was so much fun to watch all the kids play together. Emma has become "one of the kids" now that she is walking so steadily.
This weekend Christian and I are going to Pismo for a romantic get-away. The girls are staying with Grandma and Papa. They are excited to go, and so are we!
Our good friends, Tracy and Araceli had a new baby last week. They named her Emily Kate. Now Madeline has named all of her baby dolls the Emily Kate. It's funny because her favorite doll, Sarah, was named after our friends' Burnie and Cheryl's daughter. Who's next??
9/3/2004 - 9\3\04 Maddy's new thing that she has learned lately is pumping on the swings. If we get her started, she can keep herself going "Way up to God"!
9\3\04 Emma's newest activity is attempting to run! It's adorable because she trips over her feet and falls when she gets going too fast. When she falls she says, "Ow". Then, she gets right back up. It's hilarious!
9/1/2004 - My 2 favorite stories are old ones from last summer:
August 2003- We were driving in the car and Madeline saw a red balloon up in the sky. She excitely pointed it out to me asked, "Mommy, Did God drop that?"
September 2003- We were in the the bank parking lot and Maddy was eating goldfish crackers. She wanted to share her fishies with Emma. I told her that Emma was too little to have goldfish because she doesn't have any teeth. Maddy said, "Mommy, you gotta buy her some."
Present: When Emma hears a horn honk outside, she starts screaming and going to the door, "DaDa DaDa!!" Both girls go running to the door when Christian gets home from work. They love their Daddy!!
If there is dirt, Emma will find it. Christian and I were outside the other night and Emma and Maddy were playing in the front yard. After an hour, Maddy was clean as a whistle (a little wet) and Emma was covered in grass, mud, water, leaves, with a dirty face!
You should see our girls dance! Emma gets her whole body into it. She often falls while dancing. Maddy shakes her little bum bum and giggles with joy!
Emma is learning sign language. She has about 10 diferent signs now. Her latest one is she taps her head for "Lita" (Christian's mom). Since Emma was a tiny baby, Lita has sung her a song in Spanish where she taps her head. So, Emma associates it with her Lita. It's really cute!
