Happy Birthday to my Mom!! We all had nice dinner together to celebrate her 57 years! I am back working at the Bear Mill doing birthday parties. It's great to get out and make some pocket money, plus it gives Chris some fun time with the kids! Catie is excited about Valentine's day this year. She asked to make paper valentines and I took a few cute pics so she should have fun decorating. Owen just turned 3 Months and is the happiest boy I know! In the spirit of Valentine's, here's what the kids currently love...

Catie Loves: Curious George, chocolate milk & playing with Owen.

Owen Loves: ceiling fans, his swing, play gym, & pulling Catie's hair.

I finally finished writing Owen's birth story...

On Monday (11/5) while grocery shopping with Catie I thought I had a couple of contractions, wasn't really sure. I was having bathroom issues that night so I took a laxative to get things moving, tmi sorry lol. OMG woke up Tuesday feeling way off, but figured I just did too much over the weekend and would take it easy. At about 9am I was feeling all crampy and figured it was the laxative working through me, went to the bathroom a few times, no big deal. Well, by noon I was breathing through these cramps and started wondering if they were contractions. I took a nap, talked to Chris and a few friends as we tried to figure out what was going on. Chris was getting a bit freaked out at work so he hurried home. By now it was 6pm and I started timing my pains, yes took me long enough to realize this was something more than cramps, lol. I called labor & delivery and they suggested for me to drink a bottle of water, lay down for a bit and then take a shower. I did all three and knew in the shower that this had to be the real deal. I called the Dr. on call (Dr. Fontana, thank goodness) and he says come right in to L&D, I was about 2min. apart with contractions which I knew had to be real now. Chris packed as I yelled out items and we dropped Catie off at my friend Katrina's house across the street and then my parents went pick her up, almost 8pm now. OMG it was a very long 40min drive with contractions 1 min.40 seconds apart. We even HAD to stop for gas on the way, quite comical in retrospect. We get to the hospital and they give me 3 shots of terbutaline to stop the contractions since I was just 35 weeks, plus another dose in pill form. No luck, the contractions were right on top of each other, holy smokes the pain.  They rush me over to labor and delivery and for the next 20 hrs. they pumped me full of 3 IV bags of Magnesium Sulfate and 2 more fast flow bags, omg horrid horrid drug. All they could give me was Morphine for back pain, nothing for the contractions and the Magnesium was not working. It was now about about 6pm on Wednesday and my Mom came to get me through all the contractions so Chris could get some sleep and take Catie home. We honestly thought the drugs would start working, but then I spiked a 102.5 fever, chills, and was totally hallucinating at about 3am. At this point they realized I had a Placenta Infection and the baby had to come out right now. All I recall is my Mom in scrubs in the OR, then her rushing out and Chris coming in last second. Owen was out via emergency c-section and we heard nothing, that silence was the worst moment of my life. They rushed Owen out and Chris followed the Dr. running down the hall who was bagging him. I yelled out for his Apgar Scores, no one answered, so of course I screamed at them to tell me right now. Someone quietly said 2,5, and then yelled 7! Thank God for that 7, I knew at that point he would be just fine. Owen spent 3 days in the NICU under a breathing hood and came home healthy! Life's little miracles are amazing..
