I love reading your posts...I swear girl you need to publish a book with them. All Mom's need a great laugh or just to know that just when they think they are going to loose their minds after a crazy day that there is humor to be found. Can't wait for you all to get moved, so we can meet for a playdate!

oh Dacia, I wish I was there to enjoy the countdown with you.... I am soo excited for you guys to almost be done! It is sad though.. you are going to miss Indiana soo much! Enjoy your last month!!!!
I am soo glad that Cooper is okay... what a horrible thing to have to deal with. I am just glad the little guy is ok! -Miss Ya! Mindy May 08 2008
Hey there Dacia,
I love the Bob Evans story!! It reminds me of the day when Sara and I were out front of her house 2 summers ago. We look up and Garrison has his pants around his ankles and he is peeing in the neighbors yard!!(we had never met them.) Is this some sort of instinct for males? Maybe a "men are destined to teach their son's this ritual" thing?? I think most days the answer to your "harder to raise" question for me would be the latter!! Luv Ya, Christina B. -Christina Brough May 08 2008
Can I just say that it just hit me that you guys are about to move BACK....... and I mean real soon!!! A friend asked me to go on a trip for a birthday thing and I told him sorry man I can't I will be helping my family move back!!!!!!! I just got all excited and giddy like a school girl!!! Uncle Ernie is going to be able to be fulltime Uncle Ernie and not just on holidays and vacations. Can you believe it? Not only are you coming back but you will have a house that can fit us all and you better get my room fixed cause Uncle Ernie is coming over....... often!!! Oh and I will require that your amazing MEATLOAF be a weekly privilege for me.... oh and that chocolate pie. People you ain't been living life unless you have put Dacia's MEATLOAF in your mouth at least once... well, any of her cooking for that matter!!! Good Southern cooking is a dying art but Dacia is keeping it alive!!! I ain't kidding... the woman is like a young Paula Dean (but way better.... wink wink.... will this assure me a weekly meatloaf?). Kidding I mean every last word!
Love you all so much! Hug all my little ones! Uncle Ernie
PS. Ladies, Dacia was not lying when she wrote her post a while back... I am an eligible bachelor, I am very single, I am looking for a lady, I am great with kids (except diapers) and I am taking phone numbers! HA HA HA... -Aaron "Ernie" Harris May 08 2008
I am cracking up! The "poop" story is hilarious. It would definitely be a story to publish! I am exhausted every single time I read this thing. I am contemplating what your life will be like with 5 teenagers... They are adorable! Love ya! -Dixie May 02 2008
Ziploc bags....don't leave home without them! -Heidi Apr 30 2008
did you make brad feel just a little guilty about the hotdogs!?! -Sarah Apr 30 2008
Oh My Gosh, Dacia, how awfully scary for you. I know it broke your heart, and I would have been in tears for days, too. Your poor thing, I am so glad that Brady, Cooper and you are all okay. Wow...!
Come by and say hi, I have not heard from you in a while. Your new house is AMAZING...I love looking at the pics.
-Karen Apr 30 2008
Hey friend, I am so very thankful he is okay. -Heather Apr 29 2008
Hot dogs & bananas....that's a tragedy! -Heidi Apr 29 2008
I am so sorry you have had to go thought this, I know exactly what it is like. Count me in too, I dropped Tek at 10 days old. Needless to say, I was hysterical and thought this must be the worst moment of my life...then, I had Briggs and he fell out of the grocery cart. I will never forget the sound of him hitting the concrete floor. My heart goes out to you! Hang in there, you are doing a great job!!! -Traci Kalish Apr 29 2008
count me in as another faller-- when the girls were little (4 mos and 2), i took georgia OUT when she was walking in front of me down the steps. i was holding juliet so she was fine but i'll never forget that horrible feeling of thinking i have literally damaged my child for life!!!
hang in there. it will be a funny story sooner than you think! when he does something stupid at age 15, blame it on getting dropped on his head as a baby!! -melinda Apr 28 2008
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRAD! -Susan Apr 23 2008
So, how did the pound cake turn out???? :) -Melanie Smith Apr 23 2008
You all looked great tonight. I loved seeing you at Chick-fil-A. What a beautiful family. Dacia, you look great, hang in there and take it one day at a time. There is always duct tape! -Traci Kalish Apr 22 2008
Hi Brad, Dacia, and 5 beautiful children,This is Amy Clarke Zidar from Georgia (now living in Nashville). This is the first time I have seen the pictures of your family, Lindsay emailed me the link. What a great family. Congrads on moving back to Georgia (I am jealous). Alot of childhood friends and neighbors are living on that side of town. Your new house is gorgeous. Good Luck with everything and hope to see you someday soon! -Amy Zidar Apr 19 2008
I think we are living in the Ice Ages...we still haven't seen High School Musical. What's wrong with me???? -Melanie Smith Apr 19 2008
We felt it too!!! I bolted straight up in bed. The kids of course slept through it. Brad said, "What's going on?!?!?!" I said, "We're having an earthquake!!" Then I wente downstairs turned on the tv and sure enough! It does make you think about how mighty God is! -Melanie Smith Apr 18 2008
If it makes you feel any better, the life of flippin chikin is about the same as oral surgery! Six years ago when Todd decided Chick-fil-A was his dream career, life of five days a week with the kiddos, wen't to six days a week. Thank goodness he atleast chose Chick-fil-A (closed Sundays)!I feel your pain, it is one thing to have long weekdays, but it is a whole different ballgame on the weekends! -Traci Apr 14 2008
look at all my gramatical errors and mispelled words in the previous paragraph, I am definitely tired! Please forgive me, and if you are going to vote on me for School Board, please note, I can do better! -Traci Kalish Apr 11 2008
ok, it is 4:00 on Friday and after a long day of substituting for second grade, I am now in tears. I just read your journal today and it sent me over the edge. What nice things to read. It amazes me that we met in 2004, boy am I getting old! You state the stroy perfectly...I can stil see Brad and Todd dicussing deer, while my precious boy looked pitiful. Brad worked wonders, you would never know anything ever happened. My only wish is, I was not so crazy busy, that I could be there for you more. I feel like a terrible friend. I truly believe God has called me to be a voice in the lives of children and parents; therefore, I over commit! I will definitely miss the comfort of having Georgians around. Get ready for me to come visit! -Traci Kalish Apr 11 2008
I guess if all your phantom fans are coming out of the wood works then I may as well to! I'm a friend of Karen Layser's. We have known each other since High School. I've since moved to Peoria, Arizona. I clicked your name on her side bar right after she put her blog together and found out you were expecting your second set of twins around the time we were expecting our 3rd boy. Anyways I've enjoyed keeping up and a lot of times when things get rough with my 3 I figure if you can do it with 5 then I can surely do it with 3! Thanks for keeping me going with your wit and great stories. Your kids are adorable.
-Betsy McKinstry Apr 10 2008
Hi Dacia,
I am another one of your "phantom fans" so I thought I would reveal myself! I am Mindys best friend Jen in Arizona. Mindy used to have her friends links on her website and one day I was checking them out and came across yours. Your writing is amazing and I was instantly hooked! I think it is so wonderful that you have 5 kids and a strong faith to get you through each day. Well, just wanted to say hi and let you know I am a "phantom fan"! Here is my site so you can see who I am! www.babyhomepages.net/kaylee -Jen Gregor Apr 09 2008
Hi Dacia,
I’m one of your “phantom” readers! I’m Donette Van Cleve, from Western Kentucky. My family crossed paths with Richard all the way back in 1967…I remember going to Richard and Nancy’s wedding…which I think was 1969/70. (I was about 10 at the time.) Anyway, through the family grapevine, I was sent your website and have been keeping up with your precious family for several months. You have been abundantly blessed with beautiful healthy children. I admire your tenacity and sense of humor to handle it all! Thanks for taking the time to share what is happening with your family through the website – it’s entertaining, encouraging and enlightening. Good luck as you prepare for the move to Georgia. (BTW, your new home is gorgeous!)
Love and prayers, -Phantom Reader, Donette Apr 09 2008
Hi Brad, Dacia, and kids, I enjoy visiting your website. I hope you all are doing just fine. I know you are excited about moving to Georgia. The children are growing so much. Please give each one of them a hug for me. With love your cuz in Kentucky. -Donna Frye Apr 08 2008
I couldn't be happier for the two of you! What a sacrifice you have made, now go and enjoy it! I would have a hay day decorating that beautiful home. I have to say, Dacia, you look great in all the Pictures. Love the hair, think you should leave it that color! We just returned from Destin for Spring Break. I must say I am fine in Indy, until I go South and then it all comes back to me and I miss it. Who knows what will happen, only God knows our destiny...Lots of Love, The Kalish Family -Traci Kalish Apr 06 2008
