December 22, 2008

I am dragging today.  I made myself get up and do laundry, sweep, mop and straighten up.  I could have just laid on the couch all day!  Yeah, like that would happen.  Our weekend was great.  Papa came in town on Friday.  We all headed to Memaw and Grandpa's for our Christmas celebration.  We ate and opened gifts.  It was a lot of fun.  The kids were wound up after all that fun.  Saturday night was Brad's Christmas party for work.  We had lots of fun getting dressed up and having a night out on the town.  Sunday was our Christmas service at church which was amazing.  Check it out at www.brownsbridge.org it's worth your time.

We have lots of errands to run so I better get ready.  The kids just finished lunch... grilled cheese, tomato soup and goldfish.  Have a great day everyone!

Are you intrested in how the rest of my day went?  It was smooth sailing!  I ended up taking a one hour nap.  It was awesome.  I woke up and felt like a new person.  Tonight was GNO but Kim and I decided to include the hubbies.  We called Mrs. Janet and she came to the rescue.  She handled all 5 kids and still had her hair and a smile when we got home.  That's a good sign.  Of course, she came armed with lots of fun toys and crafts.  The kids made door hangers and colored some pictures.  Everyone except Jackson was in bed when we got home.  AND my clean laundry basket was folded.  You can't beat that.  Mrs. Janet... we love you and are so thankful to have you in our lives!

Our dinner with the Ware's was at Long Horn Steakhouse.  We love that place.  I ate half my dinner because I knew I wanted dessert.  We had a great time with lots of laughs.  It's wonderful to have good neighbors that you can also call friends.

Believe me, it was my pleasure to stay with those sweeties...and I'm glad you and Brad had some time to yourselves with friends!

What a day... and it's only 2pm!  Memaw is sick with some sort of something or other so I offered last night to come by today after I dropped Jackson off at school and go get her groceries.  First of all, we overslept.  I mean really overslept.  Cooper is my alarm clock and he decided to sleep late.  We didn't wake up until 8:15am.  Jackson has to be at school at 9am.  I jumped out of the bed (unshowered... ick) scooped up all the kids, threw some clothes on them, slammed a cereal bar in their mouths and some milk to wash it all down.  We were out the door by 8:58am.  I don't know how we did it but we did.  Once I took Jackson to school we headed to Memaw's.  I had this bright idea that I would try what I thought would be a shortcut.  Normally, it takes about 30-35 minutes to get to Memaw's.  Today it took over an hour!!!!!  I was so mad at myself I really and truly wanted to cry.  The kids were getting irritable.  I hear Gabrielle start to whine about 40 minutes into our trip.  I look in the rear view mirror and she's throwing up.  CAR SICK!!!  I whipped it over, found a plastic grocery bag and stuck it under her chin.  She completed her task and I proceeded to clean her up as best I could with baby wipes.  Thank goodness, she had her blanket in her hand and it caught the majority of her vomit.  I drove up to a convenient store and got a few more garbage bags to put her blanket and shirt into.  Finally, we make it to Memaw's.  I pull in the house, drop off Gabrielle, Connor and Cooper while Brady and I head to Publix.  I made a mad dash through the store, picked up Wendy's and rushed back to Memaw's.  I unloaded and put away her groceries and then threw the kids back in the car.  We made it to Jackson's school at 1pm SHARP going at mock speed.  The whole way home Jackson is holding his nose saying, "Oh Man, it stinks so bad in here!  Mommy I can't take it!  Hurry, get home!"  I just knew he was going to throw up at the smell of her throw up.  I got everyone inside, fed the babies lunch and put Gab and Con down for their naps.  The babies are playing a bit and then they are going down, too.  I am hoping and praying that I can shut my eyes for at least 30 minutes.  I'm exhausted!

Now, let's see what the rest of the day holds!

December 15, 2008

It's 11:30pm and I am already regretting that I'm up this late.  I simply had to get these Christmas cards done.  Our printer broke about the time we moved in here so I can't make return address labels.  I'm about to give up and just hope they make it to their destination!  I added just a few pictures.  I've been really slack on taking them.  I hate my camera and it's giving me fits trying to download pictures onto my computer.  It's a knock down drag out fight everytime I try so I've just quit trying.  Hopefully my camera problem will be eliminated after Christmas (hint hint, GG).  =)

I picked up the older kids tonight from their weekend with Grandpa and Memaw.  The kids were in rare form but as for Grandpa and Memaw... let's just say they looked like they needed rest!  I think the kids wore them out.  Thanks Grandpa and Memaw for such a fun weekend.  They can't stop talking about it.

Brad and I had so much fun with the babies this weekend.  We were able to play so much and really interact with them more than ususal.  I spent the day today running errands and taking them all over town.  It seemed so easy just having the two.  I could do everything so quickly.  Sunday when Brad and I dropped them off at the nursery we were like, "That's it... we don't have to go to 3 different rooms?"  It was a breeze.  After church we went to GG's house for lunch.  She got a new couch and gave us her previous one for the basement.  We took all the toys to the basement and I worked until the wee hours of the morning organizing the toys so the kids could actually see what they have.  I also helped Santa wrap some presents.  The house stayed so clean and quiet!  I was very ready to get the older kids back.  Brad and I said we much prefer the house loud.  When I got to Memaw's to pick up the kids Jackson ran to my arms and said, "Mommy, I missed my family so much.  I was so sad when you cried.  (i cried when they left)  Did you take a nap and feel lots better?"  So sweet.  He must have told me 3 times how he loved being my son.  Be still my heart!  They missed the babies so much.  Brady and Cooper just lit up with excitment at the sight of their "crew."  When we got home this evening Brad and I gave everyone baths and took them to the basement to play.  Jackson said, "Mommy, it must have took you hours to clean these toys up.  Were you sweaty?"  he he  He knows me well.

I had my follow up visit for my surgery today.  I got the "All Clear" to resume normal activities.  The stiches look good and are healing just fine.  So far so good.  It hits me every once in a while that I just had a hysterectomy.  I'm 33 years old and had a hysterectomy.  It's odd.  I can't explain it... it just feels a little sad.  Isn't that crazy?

Well, everyone is healthy except Memaw, GG and I have contracted Gabrielle's pink eye.  We are all itching, swollen and runny.  ICK!  We all have drops as of today and should be getting better soon.  If it's not one thing... it's another.

Comments
I understand what you mean about the sadness of the hysterectomy. It's only been 2 years since mine and I still feel that way from time to time.

Hearing the cute things that the kids say make me more excited to see you all next week! I can't wait to get down there! Love you all!

It's very quiet in our house tonight.  Grandpa and Memaw wanted to take the 3 older kids to the hunting land in Macon for the weekend.  They will all be back on Monday.  Brad and I both were hesitant to let them go.  We have not all been together and well for a quite a while.  But we knew the kids would have a great time so we said, "yes."  The nice part is all the time we are having with the babies.  Cooper and Brady are just so much fun right now.   They are really interactive and want to be talked to and played with.  It's a lot of precious time.

Last night was Don's birthday.  He and Kim invited us to dinner.  We went to The Winchester steakhouse in Canton.  It was really good and we had a great time.  GG came in town at the last minute and babysat for us.  The kids were thrilled and so were we.  Our other neighbor and friend, Amy went along too.  Her husband is in Afghanistan serving with the National Guard.  We were home by 9pm and I was in bed by 10pm.

I'm off to finish supper.  Have a great weekend.

December 11, 2008

The past few days have been very productive.  Tuesday and Wednesday was spent caring for the remaining sick children in the house.  However, last night I started to panic about not having the first Christmas present bought.  I called Kim at 5pm and said, "Let's go shopping."  So off we went to Toys R Us to get started.  After a crazy time at that place we headed to Chili's for a bite to eat and then hit Target.  I was able to get ALL my shopping done in two spots!  I still have a little bit of minor stuff to pick up but for the most part it's done.  We didn't get home until almost midnight.  I was exhausted!  I can't wait for everyone to lay eyes on their gifts.  I think it will be a good year.  Brad and I decided not to buy for each other.  We had a early gift... the dining room table.  I love it!

Papa, the kids and myself went to look at some homes in the local area.  Daddy is thinking of one day selling his house in Fayetteville and moving up towards our area.  THINKING is the operative word.  With Daddy, once he gets a thought in his mind it will take him at least a year to execute... if he in fact does!  He He  When we picked Jackson up from school later that afternoon his teacher said, "Jackson had a great day today.  He said our blessing at lunch.  Mrs Karen and I both got misty eyed.  We've never heard a 4 year old pray so sincere before.  I believe you've got yourself a preacher or someone of leadership on your hands."  I was so proud.  Jackson can really pray.  He's so dramatic and heartfelt with the words he lifts up to our Lord.  We love to hear him pray.  It is truly amazing.  Jackson told me today all about King Herod and how much he hated Jesus.  He told me so many details I was shocked he knew so much.  His mind is very much like mine.  He has a hard time with numbers but put him in a creative writing class and watch out!

Speaking of Jackson... since he has done so great this week I promised him that we would do something special.  He really deserved it after being sick for so long.  We went this evening to see BOLT.  We had so much fun.  To end our date we had dinner at Applebee's.  His pick!  Our time together was precious and I'm very proud to be his mother.  As a matter of fact I told him just that.  Before he went to bed he hugged me and said, "Mommy, I am proud to be your son."  Be still my heart!

December 8, 2008

We are still living in a very sick house.  Connor held a fever most the day and started to make a turn for the better this evening.  I took Gabrielle to the doctor this morning because for 8 days she's had these nasty, swollen, red and irritated eyes.  She has a ear infection and some sort of infection in her eyes.  She's less congested today, that's good.  Brady did not have a fever today but he's still not himself.  Poor Coopie, he's still got a terrible cold.  He gets frustrated because he can't drink his bottle.  However, the two of them did play today and managed to eat a little.  That's improvement.  And then there's Jackson... he is healthy except for the fact the school called me to come get him early today because he had gashed his head!  I was like "What?"  Turns out he was in the bathroom stall and decided to look underneath it when he lifted his head too early and sort of punctured his head on the stall door.  Once I got him home and cleaned the wound it was minor.  All the blood in his little blonde head looked pitiful though.  So are we better?  I would say yes... but we still have a long way to go.

Papa has been here since Sunday helping me out with the kids and the house.  He's been toting the kids up and down the stairs and all the heavy work.  He's pooped!  I know it's way more than anyone of our parents ever thought as far as the work is involved.  We are so thankful to have all of them.  GG brought the babies back yesterday afternoon and you honestly would have thought she was never going to see them again.  She cried the entire 75 mile drive home.  She said, "I keep telling myself that I'm acting ridiculous.  I could see them tomorrow if I wanted!"  Never the less, she cried.  When I was able to see all 5 of my kids in the house together I cried.  Jackson and Connor were the last to arrive home.  I just fell on my knees and balled like a baby.  I was so thankful to have all 5 of them HOME!

I'm recovering well for the most part.  It's just taking longer than I expected.  With time... we'll all be well!

This evening is the first time since the surgery I really feel like things are starting to turn around.  I have a little more energy and I don't feel as "foggy" from fall the medications.  I stopped the pain pills because I couldn't stand that "not with it" feeling.  My legs don't feel like noddles and my head is clearer without the percocet.  Poor Sissy, I wish I could say the same for her condition.  She is a very sick little girl.  She has the exact same virus that Jackson with high fever, vomiting and a cold.  I just don't understand why everyone is so sick.  I am trusting God that he will get us through all of it.  He is still mighty!  I know he has not deserted us.  HE IS GOOD!

Jackson and Connor are having a blast at my Dad's house.  They have gotten out everyday going to lunch or shopping.  They have not even asked about coming home.  Cooper and Brady are doing okay.  Brady is his perfect little laughable self.  Cooper, as of today, does not have a fever and seems to be a bit more playful.  Poor little guy... I miss my kids.  I know I was glad to have the break but I take it back.  I want my kids home and for us to be our normal crazy, hectic and out of control house!

Thanks to all of you who sent flowers, cards and food.  I appreciate your texts and emails with well wishes.  I'm so blessed to have such a great network of friends and family.  I love you, all!

I am back home from the hospital.  Thank you to all of those who lifted me up in prayer.  I appreciate all your sweet thoughts and concern.  The surgery went just as planned.  My uterus was laying flat on my rectum.  Fun, huh?  My uterus has been removed and all the ligaments tightened as well as lots of scar tissue removed.  I should be like a new woman when all this is over and done.  Yesterday was horrible.  I hurt a lot more than I anticipated.  Today is much better.  I just took a shower and am feeling pretty good.

I still need your prayers.  As I mentioned earlier, Brady and Cooper are spending the week at my Mom's.  She called this morning and Cooper has a 102 fever and feels terrible.  Gabrielle is staying at Memaw's and we got a call from her saying she also had a 102 fever and was wanting to come home.  We left the hospital as soon as we could and Nancy was there waiting on  us with Sissy.  She's pitiful.  She is taking a nap right now.  Susan went to Mom's and got Brady to take back to her house.  That way GG can give Cooper full attention.  I feel like our family has been under severe attack by Satan.  Please pray that God will put a hedge of protection around us from sickness.

Hi sweet pea, I am so glad you made it through okay and I hope your recovery is super fast. I know things are tough right now, especially with those little peanuts being sick, but just let yourself be taken care of and all will heal. Praying for you all...:-) Hugs..

Tomorrow is the big day!  GG is here tonight making me up some chicken and dumplin's so I can dig in when I get home Thursday.  They smelled great.  Let me just tell ya'll that despite what you think, a bowel prep is not fun.  LOL  It's my last night having a uterus.  She's been good to me despite the pressure I've put on her.  She carried all my babies well and kept them safe.  At times she was throwing a flag yelling "Too many players on the field" but that didn't stop her from doing her job.  That was werid but kind of fun... it made me laugh anyway.  =)

It's been really quiet without Jackson a  nd Connor around.  Gabrielle, Brady, Cooper and I went around town running errands.  I voted for our run-off... Saxby Chandliss won!  We also went to Mar-Mart (WalMart as Gabrielle calls it) to find Sissy a pair of simple black dress shoes.  We ended up with something inbetween but we both agreed on them and I went with it.  She's so independent and stubborn.  Where does she get that from?  She has been singing "Jesus Loves the Little Children" all day.  Her version goes like this:  "Jesus loves the children... they are so precious... he made some black and red... they are so precious"  the tune is nothing like the original.  It's a homemade diddy!  It's adorable.  She LOVES to talk on the phone.  LOVES IT!  She drives me crazy all day wanting to call someone.  She has been known to grab my phone (without me knowing) and dial as many people as she can.  She called my neighbor, Don, the other day and they talked for a long time and then he handed the phone to his 3 year old, Chandler, and they talked for another 15 minutes.  Where was I?  I guess I thought she was just pretend talking... oops.  I was in the kitchen today cleaning up dishes and she said, "Mommy, are you hot?"  I said, "No, I am just fine why?"  She said, "Cause I'm hotter than fire!"

Brady and Cooper had a field day with total attention from Sissy and I.  Gabrielle loved on them all day.  We went to the basement (toy heaven) and played for over an  hour.  They couldn't get enough of her.  It made my heart swell to see the care and tenderness she gives to them.  I'm so glad she has so many kids (those are her words).

December 1, 2008

I started the morning off with a giant cup of coffee and headed out the door to my first pre-op appointment.  Daddy had all the babysitting orders down and I was off.  The first appointment was with my Gyn.  He filled me in on all the details of the surgery and my pre-surgery regimen which includes a bowel prep.  Do ya'll know what that means?  To put it nicely, I'll be on the potty ALOT tomorrow!  After that news I headed to my next pre-op appointment at the hospital.  I filled out so much paperwork you would have thought I was buying a house.  I game them blood, what more do they want?  The pre-op nurse and I were talking and of course she wanted to know all about the family.  She asked me the funniest question I've ever heard!  I laughed so hard.  Are you ready???  She said, "Are you going to have any more kids?"  Keep in mind she was working me up for a hysterectomy!  I think it's safe to say we're done having kids!! LOL

Daddy took Jackson and Connor back with him for the rest of the week.  I miss them so much.  I hope Jackson improves while he's gone.  He's almost there but just needs a little more downtime before he's 100%.  I told him earlier he needed to lay down and rest a bit.  He said, "But Mooooom, I've been on this couch for 1,000 days!"

Gabrielle was sitting in my lap today and said, "I have one Mommy, one Daddy and LOTS of kids!"

November 30, 2008

The last day of November has arrived.  When I was a child I thought December would never arrive and now that I'm older it seems like it's here every 3 months!

Jackson is still struggling with a low grade fever but feels much better than he did earlier in the week.  He's playful, eating and drinking.   Another 3 people that came into contact with us came down with the stomach virus since my last post!  Sorry folks...

Daddy came up to the house today.  I have pre-op appointments tomorrow morning.  He's here to help with the kids while I'm gone.  My hysterectomy is Wednesday at 10:45am.  It's really pathetic but I'm looking forward to it!  I need the break... honestly really truly need the break!!!!  Wonder what surgery I could schedule next... tummy tuck?  LOL

It's not a rain storm, it's a tornado!!!!!  I thought Jackson was on the mend but I was so wrong.  The vomiting came back with a vengance.  He was running a consistant 104.5 fever.  He was drinking but not urinating.  I knew he was dehydrated.  I called Brad Saturday morning from hunting and asked that he please come home.  He fled the woods immediatley and came right home, it was a mere 5 hour drive!  He took Jackson to his office and gave him IV fluids.  Jackson was better after that.  However, tonight he's back to a 102 fever.  When will this end?

Mom and Larry were heading out to Boone, NC for a little sking yesterday morning when Larry started throwing up.  Then last night around 6pm Little Connor Man started with a fever and vomiting.  Today, Chandler (Don and Kim's little girl) started with the same thing.  We had 24 guests for Thanksgiving and of those 8 have gotten this evil stomach virus THUS FAR.  Who knows who is next?  All I've done since Wednesday is laundry, clean vomit and clean poop.  (Don't you love all the Mom terminology?)  I did get out of the house today for the first time since Tuesday.  I went to Publix and Zaxby's.  It was nice to get fresh air and know that someone in the world was healthy!

Poor Brad had been looking forward to this hunting trip with his Dad all season.  He was only there 24 hours before he cut his trip short.  It was not a quick decision to ask him to come home.  I felt so bad for him and  his Dad.  I needed his help.  There was no question.  When Connor got sick too I was even more sure of my decision.  They needed constant attention and care.  That was something I couldn't give to them alone with 3 other children to take care of.

My surgery is on Wednesday.  We've got all the child care taken care of between the grandparents.  Yet another reason we are so glad to be back in Georgia.  I'll be in the hospital 24 hours.  Brad is off Wednesday and Thursday to help me.  Please pray that everyone is healthy by that day.

Despite all the sickness, our actual Thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday was perfect.  We had a house full of family and friends.  The food was awesome and the company was even better.

And the rain keeps falling...  Jackson started throwing up yesterday morning and just has quit this morning.  He's run a 102+ temp for two days straight.  On top of that, Anna and Taylor have spent the last 24 hours vomiting, too.  Kim called this morning and said that Raigan has also been up all night with the same bug.

"Dear Lord, please spare us!"

November 27, 2008

When it rains, it pours!  As I said before, my brother and his family were here last week.  When they got back to Florida, my nephew Chad started vomiting.  Here we are two days later and Gabrielle's been up all night throwing up on top of the cold she has.  Poor dear is just miserable.  She can't sleep because she can't breath and she can't lay down and rest because she's so nauseated.  Please pray that God will spare the rest of us from getting a stomach virus.  We've all be so sick and I just hate to see everyone go through it yet again.  She is laying on the couch now watching Bob the Builder while Anna plays with her hair.  It's so pitiful when they are sick but good grief it makes them so precious to love on.

Yesterday was so much fun.  I took lots of pictures I'll update later today.  The menu was amazing.  Are you ready for this?  Turkey, Honey Baked Ham, corn bread dressing, gravy, deviled eggs, potato salad, sweet potato souflee, vegetable casserole, mac n cheese, green beans, corn, fried okra, sweet creamed corn, cranberry relish, german chocolate cake, coconut cake, pumpkin cream pies and chocolate mouse pie.  After we ate came the best part.  All the family sitting around the fireplace laughing and telling stories on each other.  Uncle Ernie was here, too.  We all love calling him Ernie.  His name is actually Aaron.  Brad started calling him Ernie in middle school and it's stuck with him all of his life.  His friends all call him Ernie and so do the kids.  At Ernie's expense we have LOTS of fun.  Thanks for being such a good sport Uncle Ernie!

Brad is off hunting.  He left this morning to go to South Georgia with his Dad and won't be back until Saturday.  Dixie and the girls are hanging out in town with me until tomorrow.  We're going to try and get some after Thanksgiving shopping done tomorrow.  I think the mad rush is sort of fun!  It's all fun and games until some poor Mommy gets a black eye, huh?

Happy Thanksgiving!  No matter who you are with today take the time to thank Jesus for all your many blessings... the air you breath, the sun that warms your face, (your favorite Starbucks coffee... Venti Non Fat Carmel Macchiato) and all the other things that give praise and honor to our Savior!  He is mighty and deserves all glory today and everyday!!!!

Happy 3rd Birthday Gabrielle and Connor!!!!!!!!!!  Can it really be that my babies are THREE?  Today is their official birthday.  We had cinnamon rolls for breakfast this morning.  I put a candle in each one and we sang Happy Birthday.

Gregg, Dixie, Anna, Patti and Taylor came in town last night and stayed with us.  Aunt Helen, Uncle Max, Lisa, Stacy and Alexis went to Mom's and stayed last night.  We had a great time staying up and talking.  I love having all my family here.  I've missed it so much over the past 4 years in Indy.  We feel truly blessed to have such a beautiful home to celebrate Thanksgiving with those we love so much.  Thank you to everyone for coming all the way from NC.  I hope we do it every year!

November 25, 2008

Surprise!  My brother Steven and his family decided to make a surprise visit from Florida.  I have not seen them in a couple of years.  I couldn't believe they were coming to see us.  We had a great time.  His wife, Hope, helped me so much around the house getting ready for Thanksgiving.  Their two boys, Chad and Jordan, were a big hit with the kids.  They kept calling Jordan "George" the entire weekend.  We all got a big kick out of that.  Sunday morning I fixed a huge breakfast.  Scrambled eggs, biscuits, muffins, sausage, bacon, hot dogs (that's weird but we love them split and fried for breakfast) and sausage gravy.  Daddy came and spent the night, too.  It was awesome to have my family at the table together.  The dining room table is beautiful.  I felt so blessed to have us all sitting around it laughing and having a great meal.  They headed back to Jacksonville last night around midnight.  They like to drive at night.

The birthday party for Gabrielle and Connor didn't quite turn out like we expected.  They were so sick!  They both had fevers and were fighting yucky colds.  We had to tell all our guests to stay back.  GG still came (of course) as well as Don and Kim's family.  They said their crew was fighting the same cold so they felt okay.  We let them blow out the candles but they didn't feel like eating cake.  They did enjoy opening their gifts.  There was no way I could offically cancel the party.  Despite their sick little faces they kept asking "When is our party?"  It was low-key and still sweet!  They got lots of cute gifts and they were thrilled with all of it.  We got Sissy a Cabbage Patch Doll (truth be known that was for me), Jackson got her a Tea Set, Raigan and Chandler gave her a Little Pet Shop, GG gave her Ugg(ish) boots and Tinkerbell movie and from Memaw and Grandpa was puzzles and a sweat suit.  We gave Connor a John Deer tractor, Jackson got him a Punching Bag, GG gave  him a Bob the Builder movie and Bedroom Shoes, Raigan and Chandler gave him a race car and from Memaw and Grandpa he got puzzles and a sweat suit.  Thank you everyone.

In perfect timing with all the family coming in town tonight I have contracted their cold.  I'm enjoying a lovely sore throat and drainage.  I have lots to do today.  I need to mop the floors, clean bathrooms, dust, cook my sweet potatoes, put the casseroles together, load up firewood, wash sheets... etc.  I'm ready for it all!  I can't wait.

Don finished painting my dining room and kitchen.  It's beautiful and made such a difference in showing off the woodwork and stain kits.  I'm tickled to death!

When we went to the doctor on Friday for flu mist I had her check out Cooper's ear.  He still had puss behind one.  We are now on a 3rd antibiotic and I'm seeing some improvment.  Poor thing!

Yeah!!! We can now comment on the story and not just in the guestbook! Sorry everyone is ill! We have our share of it going through the Smith household. We're supposed to leave for VA Friday night, so hopefully it'll all be cleared up by then. I miss ya girl!!!

PLAYDATE!  Don and Kim's girls are here playing this morning.  Don is helping me paint my kitchen and dining room (Brad gave in).  After I finally picked a color, Don headed to the paint store.  I insisted he leave Raigan and Chandler to play with the kids.  You'd think having 7 kids in the house would be craziness and it is, however they are so excited to play with each other it's been wonderful.  They've all kept each other occupied and the babies, too.  It's been lots of fun.  We just finished lunch that consisted of grilled cheese and gold fish.

I have to take the the kids to the doctor at 1:45.  Gabrielle, Connor and Jackson are getting their flu mist.  Hopefully this will protect them from 5 strains at least.  Cooper is still not feeling well.  He's fussy and keeps messing with his ear.  He's been on 2 rounds of antibiotics.  What's next?

Ahhhh, the weekend!  We have lots to do and I'm excited to get it all done.  Hopefully Brad will complete his honey do list by Sunday.  We'll see!  Our Thanksgiving crowd is rolling in on Tuesday evening.  I can't wait!

Do you ever have days where you wake up thinking, "I wish I could just take a break from being Mom today?"  My thoughts started as soon as Gabrielle and Connor's feet hit the floor this morning.  Actually, it started when Connor wet the bed last night.  What was that about?  That's only happened 3 times to me out of all 3 children.  They have very strong bladders, I guess.  Anyway, Gabrielle and Connor have been at each others throats all day!  I can't take it anymore!!!  I could not wait to get Jackson from school so I could bust through the door and lay those two in their beds.  Here's hoping to better attitudes when they wake up.

I have a hair appointment tonight at 7pm.  I need someone to show some love to my dried out hair.  I'm going back to see Nancy, the same lady that did it last time.  I have decided to let my locks grow out a bit.  I've had short (at the ears) hair since Jackson was born.  I'm going to go for a shoulder length type of style.  The only problem is in the past when I've grown my hair it seems to grow out instead of down!  But that was before the coveted FLAT IRON!

I would love a nap right now.  Brady and Cooper are wired and are no where near ready for one.  They are playing so sweet.  They just had a delicious lunch of PB&J, gold fish and diced peaches.  An all American classic.  Meal time is a real challenge for me right now.  I tend to cook the same things over and over and over because I know the kids will eat it.  However, this week I did try something new.  Brad and I used to eat Chicken Fajitas all the time.  For some reason I thought the kids wouldn't eat it.  I let the kids make their own by spreading the sour cream on the tortilla, putting a spoon of chicken on top, sprinkle the cheese and roll it up.  They ate 2 a piece.  I was tickled pink.  Last night was spaghetti with sausages and toast.  Tonight I am going all out.  We are having Hormel Italian Style Roast Beef (ready in 4 minutes) and Country Crock Loaded Mashed Potatoes (ready in 5 minutes).  I may steam some fresh carrots and make some cresent rolls.  If you are ever in a hurry and want a hot meal... these things are perfect.  If you put them in your own serving dishes the family will never be the wiser!
