12-5-07 The baby let us, and Krissy, hear its heartbeat today on the home doppler. It was only for a short minute but the little one cooperated.

12-4-07 Sorry it has been so long since I've updated the site! We have been incredibly busy with work, coaching, house projects, holidays, etc. Lately it feels like we go to work, come home, eat dinner, and go to bed. Anyway, everything is going well and as of today we have made it to 10 weeks and 4 days. We purchased a small fetal doppler off ebay so we can listen to the baby's heartbeat at home when we want. I got the idea from a friend who rented one during her pregnancy. For the last week and a half the baby has been stubborn and doesn't want to let us listen to its heartbeat. The baby will stay in one place long enough for the heart rate to register on the monitor but then it moves so we don't get the chance to listen to that beautiful heartbeat! The little stinker just keeps moving to avoid the doppler but it is great hearing the noise of the baby moving. All we are able to hear is the swirling, twirling, and moving of the baby...which is still a wonderful noise to hear! The doppler did come in handy the other night when I was having some terrible pains on my left side. It was very comforting to listen to the baby and know everything was okay. We have started to share the news with friends and co-workers who hadn't already been told. Our next doc appointment will be at 12 weeks and we'll have another ultrasound. I will try to update more frequently.

11-20-07 Last injection today!

11-17-07 First appointment with our "regular" OB today at 8 weeks. It was a pretty routine appointment, no bells and whistles, no fireworks. We are pretty spoiled from the fertility center where they are ridiculously thorough at every appointment (even if it's just for blood work)! However, it is nice to be a "regular" patient. Ray is spending a "boys weekend" out of town. He has been having to do everything around the house (he calls it double duty) since I am still restricted so he deserves the break. I start my last year coaching cheerleading at school on Monday (11-19). I have a feeling it is going to be a long and very exhausting season! I am able to start weaning of my medication. Only 1 injection left!!!!! I will be off all the medications on Dec.15th. This week the baby is the size of a kidney bean.

11-12-07 We had our third ultrasound today and our last appointment with the fertility doctor. What a fantastic appointment today! We were able to HEAR the BABY'S heartbeat! Since these are internal ultrasounds the tech asked me to hold my breath so we could hear the baby! The heart rate was 139 beats per minute, very strong. It was so amazing to hear and we were't even expecting it. Ray says it still looks like a booger...just a little bigger than last time. The bleed is not visible on the ultrasound anymore so the doc is feeling very optimistic, however, I am still bleeding. Because of the bleeding I still need to take it very easy for the next 3 weeks (at least). Still no housework or anything other than work and rest. The doc called this a "premium pregnancy" and to not take any chances since we had to work so hard to get here. UGH!!! We have our first appointment with a regular OB this Saturday. I can't wait to see the little booger again!

11-10-07 The bleeding has continued all week but it has been light. I am still on "couch potato" rest. I have been bored out of my mind! Our third ultrasound is scheduled for Monday the 12th. Let's hope all goes well.

11-6-07 Well, another stressful week full of anxiety. I had some more bleeding yesterday (Mon) and today (Tues). The doc wants to monitor but not do another ultrasound unless the bleeding gets heavier. Since these are internal ultrasounds they can cause irritation and make the bleeding worse. I am scheduled for another ultrasound on the 12th. Fingers crossed everything will stay the same until then (or get better). For the most part I am ordered back on "couch potato" status. I can go to work and sit at my desk, come home and stay on the couch. I am supposed to limit my activity as much as possible. I have a feeling this will be the longest week waiting for our next ultrasound. I will be so relieved when we see the heartbeat again! Ray says I am becoming more neurotic than I was before this pregnancy...if that's possible!

11-2-07 We had our second ultrasound today. We were able to see the heartbeat! The baby is showing 112 heart beats per minute and is the size of a grain of rice (3.98 milimeters big). It is actually measuring a day larger than it is which the nurse says is good. We were able to see it on the ultrasound. Ray says it looks like a booger! The doc and nurses are still concerned with the bleed so I'm still not allowed to do much of anything but go to work and sit around. I can't even lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk. UGH! Our next ultrasound is Nov. 12th. Hopefully everything will still look great and we can be released to a regular doc! I will post the ultrasound pictures soon!

10-29-07 Many of you know that my blood levels had been indicating twins. Unfortunately we had to go in for an emergency ultrasound today. I had experienced bleeding and some cramping over the weekend. It turns out we lost one of the twins. It's been a difficult week but we are so grateful the other baby is on target so far. We were able to see the sac but the baby is still too small to see. We have another ultrasound on November 2nd (we will be 6 weeks). They should be able to see the baby and the heartbeat.

10-24-07 Another blood test this morning. The levels are looking good!

10-23-07 Today Ray and I have been together for 8 years! Today we shared the news with our parents.

10-22-07 Went in for bloodwork today...It looks like all 5 of the home pregnancy tests I took were right! WE'RE PREGNANT! Hopefully the next few weeks will go well.  I will need to go in for more blood tests to make sure that everything is progressing on track. I also need to continue on my medications...ugh! We should have our first ultrasound the end of this month.

10-18-07 I took another hpt this morning...still POSITIVE! Ray was not very pleased that I couldn't wait until the doc appt. I just couldn't help myself! We go in for blood test on the 22nd. Shhh...we haven't told anyone yet!

10-17-07 I took a home pregnancy test tonight...POSITIVE!

10-10-07 The day of the embryo transfer! We had 4 embryos make it to this stage. We transferred two back and froze the remaining two. Now we wait....

10-5-07 Retrieval! They really should tell you how painful this process is. Although, I did enjoy the sedation!
